Hopefully he would pave the way for the BTCBTCBTC acceptance of PP.  Grin

Now it's a possibility, Xapo may be acquired by PP.
2162  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here we go sub 400! on: January 13, 2016, 05:44:05 PM
Stock markets are pulling back all over the world.  No surprise people decide to sell bitcoin as well.

You think that BTC price follow stock market? Have you some chart to probe this?

Well there are no charts to prove this, and the relationship is indirect. Falling stock markets almost always gets the majority panicking, which would mean they would likely convert all their assets to cash. This panic may also be one of the factors to cause the decline.
2163  Economy / Speculation / Re: Investment strategy on: January 13, 2016, 04:51:52 PM
Well if you're going to buy BTCBTCBTCs and hold them for a long time then you can consider that a worthy investment already. Same for some alts, Ether maybe?

It's either that or you find a legitimate investment. Avoid trading, it's an unspoken rule for those who aren't seasoned traders that long term holding are much more profitable than frequent trades.
2164  Economy / Services / Re: Buy a domain for me from Godaddy! on: January 13, 2016, 12:30:28 PM
try vcc from entropay sir Smiley
VCC advcash or neteller not work for goodady . iam try 2 days ago Smiley

That sucks. Have you contacted support for both services? I thought reloadable VCCs like that work anywhere.

By the way, if you need hosting to go with that domain, try HostWinds. Use the code 99BTCOFF for 99% OFF your first month or 25BTCOFF for a recurrent 25% discount.

PS. Drop me a PM if you still need someone.
2165  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: January 13, 2016, 12:11:56 PM
How does the following sound?

Buying hash from the market and then buying more Hash with the payouts and selling hash when the Maintenance/Payout ratio is greater than 75%?

I initially bought 27 GH of S7 which I traded today for 66 GH of S5 with plans to buy more S5 Hash until the Maintenance/Payout ratio is greather than 75% in which case I move on to S7 or possibly a new model of miner.

This is not the best idea, because with halving approaching the S5 price will drop regardless of maintenance/payout ratio or in other words the ratio may never cross your threshold but at the same time your hashes will become worthless. Doesn't mean you will lose your money, you will probably yield enough on mining. But whole concept looking at maintenance/payout ratio doesn't look logical to me, the price of hash is most important.

The price of S5 won't necessarily drop. As far as I've observed, when the price of btc moves up, the price per GH/s of all the products in HashNest also moves accordingly, with S7s primarily with the greatest movement. There's at least a relationship with the maintenance/payout ratio regarding that.
2166  Economy / Exchanges / Re: The Exchange cryptsy dies? on: January 13, 2016, 12:07:47 PM
Their services are not free, if that's what you mean.  You pay each time you make a trade, but I have no idea why they or any other exchange becomes insolvent.  You'd think that there's two sides to each trade and an exchanges function is to match buy and sell orders and not to take either side of the trade.  Am I totally ignorant??

Probably this all started when they tried to expand into USD. You know, getting into that takes a lot of legal expenses and repercussions. Plus the digital Mintsy thing, I remember their service there was real bad.

SAS - DET upcoming game looks an easy win, for the spurs.

Trade deadline is nearing, whom do you guys think would take the cuts? I've read rumors the Bulls are planning to trade Noah.

2170  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Realistically how much do people make off bitcoin faucets? on: January 11, 2016, 01:44:39 PM
You won't profit, I swear. You're better off doing something more productive. This has been discussed a lot of times here, and you're only giving the owners ad-profits.

A way-around to this is lots of referrals, or a collector bot - but the captcha bypass may need a little more investment.
2171  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: January 10, 2016, 09:37:30 AM
hello... i'm new player in hashnest... about 2 weeks now. any thought on drop price in S7? over the past 24 hrs the price drop very much... will it rise again...? Sad

seeing the order book, seem's to be going a lot more drops in the next day....

As I can see it the market demand still cant cope up with the amount of hashes that went to flood the market. Probably expect a bit more of a drop.

Well what you can do now probably is buy a bit more to reduce your average cost per GH, then sell when the price rises - still very risky tho considering the difficulty.

Late 2010 was my first encounter although I didn't mine straight away just read over information about it.

2012, so much busy with academics. Was able to watch it boom back in 2013 without a single coin. Smiley
2173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Capitalize on the 2016 VR Hype? on: January 08, 2016, 05:09:38 PM
IMO It's not so important that BTCBTCBTC be used the same way as Google Wallet, Paypal, or Apple Pay, to purchase stuff or to spend in the VR world. It needs to take advantage of it's value-transfer system across the globe. I would like to see it replace wire-transfers, which are costly and slow, used for remittances across borders not serviced by traditional institutions, or even become the running protocol within the Internet-of-Things.
2174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: January 08, 2016, 05:03:09 PM
Any idea on what price we might be looking at when zaif starts trading?

500-600 sats would be my guess. I mean we all want to see 5000+ sats.

With a 8,999,999,999 XEM supply as per coinmarketcap 5000+ sats is impossible, so I believe. Does coinmarketcap have info on Japanese exchanges? Seems all trading is on PoloniEx still.
2175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 08, 2016, 04:47:11 PM
My picks for today would be:

Cleveland @ Minnesota - Over 195.5pts @ 1.92
Indiana @ New Orleans - New Orleans @ 1.99

Reasons are very simple, Cavs are on fire but they are not playing too much on defense right now. Indiana has been underwhelming lately in my opinion and doesn't do very good in away games, 1.99 are nice odds.

Indiana - New Orleans @New Orleans has 1.99 odds because it's a fairly matched squad. Both have 1 man carries with little scoring support.

@GSW vs POR game Curry is rumored to play this game even with a shin injury, if he does, it's likely a sure match.
2176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this real? 50 'clean' Bitcoins for 80 'dirty' Bitcoins?? on: January 08, 2016, 04:43:05 PM
I think you are talking about tainted and untainted coin (fresh mined coin) but i don't find any diffirence in usability of both coins. I have never heard someone selling untainted coin for higher price than tainted one.

This is exactly what I'm thinking too, I know some people would gladly exchange their coins for newly mined coins for a fee, but even for enthusiasts and collectors 30 BTC is too much.

OP can you give us a link?
2177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a market for "fresh" coins? on: January 07, 2016, 06:00:21 AM
Whats the purpose of an uncirculated coin, 1 BTc is 1 BTc ??

Its not really the case that 1btc == 1 btc, becasue bitcoin has weak fungability. This means that some bitcoin are "distinguishable". Thus mine 1 btc is different then yours 1 btc. This can lead to blacklists of certain bitcoins, if they are found to be related with crime. Its slowly starting to be a problem, for example,
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3mea6b/bitpay_is_blacklisting_certain_bitcoins_rejecting

Core Bitcion devs are aware of this problem: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues/6568 :
Quote
Tightly linked to privacy is fungibility, an essential characteristic of a money like good. When coins are overly distinguishable and people find themselves feeling obligated to consult (likely centralized) blacklists before accepting coins the utility of Bitcoin as a money is reduced.

Adams Black lecture about this is good, if you interested:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dAdI3Gzodo

If need more, just google bitcoin fungability, and will find lots of articles about this problem, e.g.,
http://cointelegraph.com/news/113897/bitcoin-violates-the-principle-of-fungibility
http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-fungibility-essential/
https://www.weusecoins.com/adam-back-confidential-transactions/
http://bravenewcoin.com/news/the-bitcoin-big-bang-tracking-tainted-bitcoins

Off course mined bitcoins, have no history, thus no taint, and are cleanest. For this reason they are considered more valuable.

and many more

From the proposed short term solutions listed in the github link, IMO this should be implemented as soon as possible:

"Include a private transaction submission tool enabled by default"
2178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyone is hyping about bitcoin price in 2016 on: January 06, 2016, 07:29:28 PM
It's not just bitcoin that is hyped for 2016. The blockchain, Ethereum, and IoT too. Just look at this piece at CoinDesk:

http://www.coindesk.com/16-blockchain-tech-predictions-2016/

Back in late 2014 and early last year, all the hype was about alts, and how alts would change the world. MaidSafe, Monero, etc.. Now they're all in the background. You actually don't have to worry a thing.
2179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 06, 2016, 11:56:36 AM
The Spurs-Jazz matchup looks nice. Betting on the Spurs here, they get the job done beautifully all the time. Pacers-Orlando matchup looks like a good match to bet too, Pacers would rout Orlando, IMO.
2180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you get into Bitcoin? on: January 06, 2016, 11:41:52 AM
Reading the responses in this thread it seems that the majority of people in here were on their quest for online income? That's quite a surprise actually as I thought it was the need for some transfer of value that people would lead them eventually to the search for BTCBTCBTC.

As for me, I was browsing TPB as well as sci-hub, and noticed they'd only accept donations via BTCBTCBTC. It was then I realized the power of this technology.
