How can upload pictures bitcointalk thread ?

In addition to the guides provided by most people, I highly suggest using https://postimages.org/ as your website if ever you feel the need to post some images.

The reason on why I recommended this website is due to its convenience and functionality where you can resize your image without having to put additional options. For example, you can adjust the width or height of the image if you input commands (e.g. width=500, etc.); but if you were to use https://postimages.org/, there is the option of adjusting it automatically depending on your likeness.

Getting loan for investment is not always the best investment idea. Yes you can be lucky to profit in it but if you are unlucky then you blame and regret because you are going to pay back even from no where. Cryptocurrency is very risky but lucrative however you can't trust it to get a loan for investing in it. People succeed in it but not all the time, if you miss the buying and selling times then it will stay as loses for you. But it is better borrowing to buy landed property because lands always appreciate in value.

Man, getting a loan in order to enable a person invest is like digging through your own grave. Remember that investing money using a loaned money may not be a good idea due to the nature of such transaction. It can either make or break your entire investment life since it could put you in debt in your entire life.

Though there are risks that we need to take in order to elevate our financial situation into another level, this kind of risk is just too much for someone to handle, given that if you are already drowning in debt, it is better to explore alternative methods rather than to risk another debt incurring.
2663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: December 24, 2021, 07:32:10 PM
I read that Ugas is a feared boxer in the 147 lbs and no one wanted to fight him. So maybe this is a step up fight for Spence, and after his surgery it looks like he is back to have another challenge and their belts are on the line.

I do hope that the winner of this will fight Crawford for the unification. Hopefully it will be Spence as the hype has been building up for a Spence vs Crawford fight.

I think many people somehow underestimated Ugas (me included) when he faced Pacquiao on the ring. As much as that I was rooting for Pacquiao to win, maybe it was the latter's time to call it quits as he showed rusty on his fight. But we got to witness the destructive power and metal chin that Ugas had against his fight with Pacquiao.

Though Spence Jr. may be undefeated, I also do think that the fight will not be easy against them. If I were to bet, I would somehow bet my money on Ugas due to the talent he showcased against his fight with Pacquiao.

People who say that BTC is a scam are those classic examples of who do not research the entire thing. They primarily rely their sources through social media or influencers who attempt to destroy the reputation of BTC in the process.

I remember back in the last quarter of 2017 where the price of BTC reached an ATH of $19,000, people were screaming that BTC was legit. But when its price dropped on the following month of 2018, people who invested on its ATH shouted and spread word that it was a scam. Unfortunately, there are people who invest without even knowing what they are investing on and they are the ones who complain that such is a scam.

I'm hoping that you'll recover wholly with what you're going through. You can unsubscribe from their email if you don't feel like receiving them anymore since you're into recovery. As said by the support you're talking with.
You can either block or unsubscribe.

What your experiencing OP is completely understandable given that there is this lingering feeling that might convince you to gamble again. That is why, any signs of gambling may trigger your addiction, which can thus ultimately pull you back towards this harmful and dangerous vice.

Like what blockman mentioned, you may opt to unsubscribe from the email that you registered under stake.com. If they seem to continuously bug you and send you promotional emails, you may also contact their representative here in the forum for quicker and faster action.

I wish you nothing but the best in combating your addiction, OP.
2666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which part of Bitcoin do you think it's the hardest to understand? on: December 24, 2021, 06:22:07 PM
Anything that involves mining and its technicalities. To be honest, I tried reading books about cryptocurrencies but the technicalities on the blocks, mining hashes, etc. seems to be out of this world as they have their own language.

I am completely amazed by people who comment and post threads under the Mining, Development & Technical Discussions board like they have their own language. They seem to understand completely the technicalities, technology, and process behind it. I tried understanding and reading books about it but it always left me baffled on the process.
2667  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to identify some scam websites. on: December 24, 2021, 01:52:04 AM
To add an extra layer of security, you can also utilize the search bar function on the forum to check if someone had already reported such fake website/giveaway.

Normally, there are accounts who continuously report these types of scams in under the "scam accusation board" where they post all the fake giveaways done by scammers. This will not only contribute to the support of reporting these scams, but you may also report them yourself if no one reported them. Not only do you help the forum grow, but you also help other curious users/beginners in preventing any scams.
2668  Economy / Economics / Re: Dont just borrow money but for the right reason on: December 23, 2021, 03:47:54 PM
Not every rich people made returns from their every investments, I read somewhere the best ever and most successful investor of all time who is Warren Buffett even have the success rate of 6 or 7 out of 10 means you can still lose no matter how good your investment plan is. Never borrow money to invest, just make money and start investing. Life is simple but don't complicate it with things which you can't actually control.
Another thing is to learn to diversify our investment. Diversification is very important but a lot of people never knows that. Like you said: Warren Buffet has the success rate of 6 or 7 out of 10, showing that he doesn’t just invest his money in one, but different assets. Imagine he invested only in one, and that one investment happens to be the one that is not successful, what will he do?

Another very important thing that we need to learn is how to know the right projects to invest in. You have to be able to tell the good ones that are more likely to succeed in the market, if not, it’s going to be a waste of time diversifying. I have seen people who invested in different assets and at the end of the day 90% of their portfolio was a loss.

Investing may look simpler but it needs lot of work in our mind to have better success rate, ofcourse diversifying is one of the important factor we should follow to reduce the risk of losing our capital.

What I feel is many people invest on something without prior knowledge because someone said it will give good returns which is completely wrong and you will regret it, so invest on only thing which you have enough of knowledge no matter it is a company or business or cryptocurrency.

The process of determining which 'instrument' to invest on requires tons of patience, knowledge, and research in order to minimize the risks of losing your money in the process.

Remember that as investors, you must determine whether you aim for short or long-term investments. If you choose the former, it necessarily follows that you have to keep track of the market on a daily basis to earn income. But if you chose the latter, you may somehow rest easy and HODL for long-term which inevitably garners profit on your end (this is primarily basing the price history index of BTC).
2669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting to Risk Free Fights on: December 23, 2021, 02:24:18 PM
What really is risk free fight? Such thing does not exist. One punch or kick or minor injury can spoil any risk free bet. Recent UFC fight between champion Amanda Nunes (former champ already) vs Julianna Pena is good example. The odds were like 1.4 for Nunes and 7 for Pena. Nunes was dominating first round. One punch from Pena in round two and Nunes did not manage to get together. As a result, new champ and those who bet on Pena got nice cheque.
Thats how upset works and we know that it does exists and could really happen anytime on a strong and highly favorite against underdog thats always been the risks as a bettor on which you wouldnt know on when

those lucky punches or kicks would really land out or to those other sports as well on last minute kind of move which make those underdogs win.I dont really see on those claims about risk free fights because

whenever you do deal with gambling then this is something which you would be mainly facing on and you cant really get rid nor able to remove the risk unless if you are dealing with fixed matches.

I do feel like there is no such thing as a "risk free fights" based on the example that you have provided.

As much as the odds may seem to be in favor of a particular person due to the enormous advantage that they have over their counterparts, there is always that possibility of a 'lucky strike' (like the one you mentioned) from happening. Basically whenever a person bets, he puts himself in a situation where he accepted that anything could happen. There can be no "absolute" result from a risk free fight in a betting scenario- or else that would definitely make everybody rich from betting.
2670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc hodlers vs short time traders on: December 20, 2021, 07:47:41 PM
Depends on your preference. There a lot of things to go wrong when you're trading, it solely depends on your actions, your experience, psychology etc. Some people get too emotional, it's definitely not for everyone, at least I prefer to avoid it. I mostly panicked when I was trading, and kept worrying about my investment and my actions.

On the other hand, holding is an automated, autopilot method, which so far, has been proven to work.

There was an article that I read that 97% of beginner traders lose their money on the process of their first trading experience, while the other 3% earned as much as a bank teller. It goes to show the complicated system and complex ideas that are needed in trading in order to profit. While there may be experienced traders, there are also newbie traders who lost most of their resources due to impulsiveness.

HODLing may be considered one of the better ways of investing. If you prefer not to do any hassle task, then this method may work either short or long-term since you only need to be aware of the initial investment you entered, while cashing out the excess- which would yield to profit.

Could be but he signed a 2 years contract last year so his intention was to continue.

Keep in mind his salary, if he will retire he will give up to 30 million € and it is a huge amount of money.

Hopefully you are right. I want to see Hamilton vs Russel racing next year with Mercedes. Could become interesting if Russel can take the lead after the first grand prix races with the same material.

I think I read an article stating that getting Russel to Mercedes was a form of a risk on their part. Instead of being a wingman to Hamilton, Russel might actually compete against Hamilton in the next season. I just really hope that it does not become Nico Rosberg part 2 where their friendship got ruined by being too competitive on the scene.

I also doubt that Hamilton will retire anytime soon especially that the next season would introduce significant changes to the f1 car. All drives would be able to experience a new type of racing in a new type of car design.

2673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: December 20, 2021, 06:32:58 PM
Yes I agree too, it is always exciting to see the top  players play each other, especially
numbers 1 and 2, but it doesnt always work out like that and it is not a guarantee
that it would produce the best matches, and this is true for all sports really.

Does Carlsen mean he wants to play Firouzja at some stage in the tournament
or in the final? surely he cannot make demands like that?

Carlsen wanted to play against Firouzja in the next WC classical championship match since he sees the potential of him being the next world champion. If you would see the games that Alireza played, he performed exceptionally well especially that he became the youngest player to break the 2800 rating.

Of course, Carlsen CANNOT make any demands like that but he certainly may inspire Alireza to perform better so that the latter could participate in the next candidates next year. Like what Magnus mentioned, he is undoubtedly looking forward to play against him.
2674  Economy / Economics / Re: How far is bitcoin from full adoption (100% mass adoption)? on: December 20, 2021, 06:17:39 PM
I think I can pick 10% rate of adoption so far. For now just few countries have made full move to adoption and also few institutions have allowed for bitcoin in their platform. Until a reasonable amount of countries starts proper adoption, hopefully from next halving.

I think 10% is the right answer in terms of mass adoption.

Remember that in order for something to be recognized, it must be categorized as legitimate in a country. If you want to see BTC being mass adopted worldwide, then it has to survive the issue of acceptability and absorption in a country. Though this may seem possible, I highly doubt that 100% mass adoption would happen even in the far future given the nature of BTC providing anonymity and freedom in transactions.

Remember that the government wants and needs control over its finances. They see cryptocurrencies as a threat to their absolute control which would hamper and reduce their effectivity.
2675  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do's and Don't in the Bitcoin forum. on: December 20, 2021, 04:13:09 PM
What do you mean by shit post if I should ask ?

While the term 'shit post' can mean a lot of things, generally it includes posting that is irrelevant on the subject matter. This also includes posting plagiarized content, replying with no sense at all on the subject matter, spamming, etc.

Unfortunately, there are newbies who are so inclined to ranking-up that they tend to spam throughout the entire forum. Remember also that quality always beats quantity in terms of posting. If your goal is to rank up, then better post content that can be further discussed by people in the forum rather than posting something that has been shared dozens of times already.
2676  Economy / Economics / Re: Advice for the season. on: December 20, 2021, 03:46:12 PM
Don't bend to societal pressure of over spending during this festive season, make serious plans for the celebrations and the coming year, Don't fall into the trap or bend to the pressure of selling off a percentage of your cryptos to  spend this festive season, a new year is coming. January is usually a long month that carries along a lot of expenses, make plans and preparations now for tomorrow, spend wisely today.

This depends on your goal as an investor and for your long-term plans. Remember that every investment is soon to be withdrawn and cashed out as fiat. It depends upon the purpose on which the investor has allocated it for. For example, you invest in order to purchase something in a given date; or you invest for future expenditure.

Many investors have already cashed out some of their investments due to this season. While it is advisable to HODL your cryptocurrencies for long-term profit, I also do not see the problem of converting them to fiat if it is for a purpose that they think that is beneficial to them.
2677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 20, 2021, 11:46:37 AM
The game between the Warriors vs Raptors show on why the starting lineup of each team is essential in the roster. Without Curry, Green, etc., the Warriors succumbed to the veteran players of Raptors. But on the other hand, the team developed more chemistry and confidence in the process.

Jonathan Kuminga showed excellent potential for his future- he is like a defensive monster on the field. If he could develop his shooting more, he will definitely become an offensive threat. As of now, he is definitely a defensive threat and can shut down most of the players in the field.
2678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your biggest issue with Bitcoin wallets? on: December 20, 2021, 10:54:01 AM
(multicoin/multi-asset wallets included)

I have a couple questions about (software) wallets that I'd like to have answers to, feel free to rant Wink

1. What are the features that you feel that are sorely missing?

2. What are your biggest issues with specific wallets you're using, or with BTC/cryptocurrency wallets as a whole?

3. What's your favourite wallet and why? Is it the user interface / user experience, colours, specific functionality, habit, perceived trustworthiness, something else?

4. What changes would you like to see with the wallet(s) that you're using?

1. I would like to see an option of adding extra security in an online wallet. Though local exchanges provide KYC functions, adding like a two-factor authentication can definitely help in adding extra security in the event that it gets compromised;

2. I think the biggest issue is that my online wallet has high fees and exchange rates. While I do understand that it is part of such business, I would love to see the rates being competitively and relatively low;

3. I think I am quite comfortably with Bitpay. Though it is a wallet that has an integrated exchange, the user-interface is not as much as complicated compared to other wallets that I searched; and

4. As of now, low rates and fees would definitely be accepted!
2679  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin dump, anong nangyayari? on: December 19, 2021, 05:11:57 PM

2680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Playing with dices on: December 19, 2021, 04:38:56 PM
See I remember watching video of a YouTuber who already did all of that, he made the arguments as well at least and he did not really gain anything and did loose a lot as well, therefore I do think you should have tried to look at the videos before tho.

Understanding mathematics and being good at gambling is quite different, counting cards is one of the thing that you can compare to it but here in the dice using the martingale which does not work and we all know that, that's why I think it would be futile making analysis regarding that.

I think most people associate gambling with mathematics due to the probability of winning on a certain round. Though some may be arguably accurate, I still doubt that there may be an application or solution that would give you absolute results.

Playing dice, on the other hand, totally relies on luck due to its nature being primarily random. Unlike card games where you can at least minimize the risks or somehow predict the cards, in dice the only factor that you can derive such is from the moment you throw it on the table.
