Interested - IN

Without a poem u r just another suck poppet....read the thread, mate.

And Carlos, it's very nice to meet u.

Well make sure you follow me on  twitter Darkoperator (Carlos_Perez) https://twitter.com/Carlos_Perez

Why would you give somebody else's twitter account as your own?
Perhaps you mistyped.
Let me help.
https://twitter.com/ceperez

I think maybe someone (obviously, not an evil person) should get in touch with Darkoperator and inform him of this apparent attempt at identity theft.

That's going to look really good in court, Frictionless.  U r a genius......
1942  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: Nxt Reimagined - Imagine Fairness! on: January 26, 2014, 01:40:01 PM
"In summary,  this looks like an excellent idea.   Pre-launch NEX coins will be LV1 coins and new coins will be LV2 coins.

This proof of burn functionality .......

Cut lots out

............ fatal to the concept.

Conclusion? NEX is bullshit. The only "feature" separating it from Nxt is VERY fataly flawed. Is fictioncoin knowingly pushing broken garbage to take 1 mil Nxt out of the pocket of Nxt investors and put it in his? Maybe, maybe not. Can you trust the person's thinking that brought you a system this flawed? That's for you to decide. My personal opinion is NO. This whole "IPO" is pretty stinky, along with the other "projects" I've seen him involved in. I'd be cautious, skeptical and highly suspicious.

Thank your for the analysis.

It is quite long,  but we will take time to review the concerns.

We did not read the entire post, however we notice the conclusion.

Why should making this offer to Nxt holders to be an issue?

Nxt after all is meant to be spent.  If Nxt holders have the opportunity to spend their Nxt on something of value, then should they not be given that opportunity?

Could u explain your use of we ?

Have u split into 2 people again, Carlos?

@buybitcoinscanada.
Good analysis, nice to focus on the tech aspects of FCs work for a while.
1943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 26, 2014, 01:32:24 PM
Focusing more on the green angle of NXT.

Please focus on energy conservation (which should be dictated by common logic) WITHOUT building the argument around Global Warming.

Totally agreed. You don't want to get in a bitch fight with pro and against.
The proveable thing here is that costs are lower.

I floated the idea of a carbon offset program, possibly using forging revenue from unclaimed coins, a couple of days ago:
Have a look at:
https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,3418.0.html

I really need to figure first out the total energy consumption of the NXT network, help (with numbers) would be useful.
1944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 26, 2014, 01:20:31 PM
My theme would be slide after slide: Bitcoin problem, NXT solution: currency distribution, blockchain bloat, PoW arms race, 51% attack, block confirmation speed (10 min vs 1 minute), transactions per second (1 currently / 7 max for BTC, 10,000 ultimate goal for NXT), etc. etc. etc.

Excellent strategy rickyjames!

All you need to emphasize are instant transactions, earning coins from forging, anonymous messaging, and soon an anonymous marketplace - why on earth would anyone want to stick with Bitcoin?!  Smiley

Don't go totally negative...people are gonna be shifting in their seats by around the 3rd negative anti-Bitcoin point.
Emphasise NXT's strengths, not Bitcoins weaknesses.
Make sure that the concept of NXT as an ecosystem, not purely a currency, comes thru strong.
1945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 26, 2014, 01:15:44 PM
I also learned to fear vodka.
It strongly depends on your drinking companion Wink

I made the mistake of choosing a Russian girl as my drinking companion once.....that did not end well for EvilDave.

1948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: January 26, 2014, 02:07:15 AM
even if you moved it, spam would find its way, and you would add extra work for the mods, pointless imo because haters will hate.
Maybe move the discussion thread there, now that it is still early?

To moderate registration thread because spammers may take up spaces for people registering. At this discussion thread, why should we care about spammers ? They just waste time. I will see if the spamming issue in registration thread needs to be countered.

Also please read though the front/ registration page and suggest to me what should be changed; grammatical errors etc.  We need it to look perfect before the media campaign. EvilDave did proofreading once but I want more checking. Thanks.

My position is: let the trolls come and post, self-moderating opens u up to all kinds of accusations and makes the whole thread less trustworthy and open. If we can't handle a bit of criticism, then we don't really have what it takes.

@ UF: I can have another, more in depth check and edit of the front page tomorrow (Sunday) if u like. Just say the word.

1950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [OFFER] Nxt to NEX - Exchange one Nxt to 50 NEX coins - LIMITED! on: January 26, 2014, 01:55:41 AM
A customer enters a pet shop.

Customer: 'Ello, I wish to register a complaint.

(The owner does not respond.)

C: 'Ello, Miss?

Owner: What do you mean "miss"?

C: I'm sorry, I have a cold. I wish to make a complaint!

O: We're closin' for lunch.

C: Never mind that, my lad. I wish to complain about this thread what I purchased not half an hour ago from this very boutique.

O: Oh yes, the, uh, the nex investment...What's,uh...What's wrong with it?

C: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. 'E's dead, that's what's wrong with it!

O: No, no, 'e's uh,...he's resting.

C: Look, matey, I know a dead thread when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now.

O: No no he's not dead, he's, he's restin'! Remarkable thread, the nex investment, idn'it, ay? Beautiful plumage!

C: The plumage don't enter into it. It's stone dead.

O: Nononono, no, no! 'E's resting!

C: All right then, if he's restin', I'll wake him up!

(shouting at the cage)

'Ello, Mister thread! I've got a lovely fresh posting for you if you show...(owner hits the cage)

O: There, he moved!

C: No, he didn't, that was you hitting the cage!

O: I never!!

C: Yes, you did!

O: I never, never did anything...

C: (yelling and hitting the cage repeatedly) 'ELLO POLLY!!!!!

Testing! Testing! Testing! Testing! This is your nine o'clock alarm call!

(Takes thread out of the cage and thumps its head on the counter. Throws it up in the air and watches it plummet to the floor.)

C: Now that's what I call a dead thread.

O: No, no.....No, 'e's stunned!

C: STUNNED?!?

O: Yeah! You stunned him, just as he was wakin' up! Nex investments stun easily, major.

C: Um...now look...now look, mate, I've definitely 'ad enough of this. That thread is definitely deceased, and when I purchased it not 'alf an hour ago, you assured me that its total lack of movement was due to it bein' tired and shagged out following a prolonged squawk.

O: Well, he's...he's, ah...probably pining for the fjords.

C: PININ' for the FJORDS?!?!?!? What kind of talk is that?, look, why did he fall flat on his back the moment I got 'im home?

O: The nex investment prefers kippin' on it's back! Remarkable thread, id'nit, squire? Lovely plumage!

C: Look, I took the liberty of examining that thread when I got it home, and I discovered the only reason that it had been sitting on its perch in the first place was that it had been NAILED there.

(pause)

O: Well, o'course it was nailed there! If I hadn't nailed that thread down, it would have nuzzled up to those bars, bent 'em apart with its beak, and VOOM! Feeweeweewee!

C: "VOOM"?!? Mate, this thread wouldn't "voom" if you put four million volts through it! 'E's bleedin' demised!

O: No no! 'E's pining!

C: 'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This thread is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker!

'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies!
'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig!
'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!!

THIS IS AN EX-THREAD!!
1951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 26, 2014, 01:43:33 AM
Hey, NXT peoples ( and actors)

Just read the last 30 pages, lots happening in the world of our favourite crypto-currency.

Firstly, my personal news:
Spent much of my crypto time in the last few days off on other threads, fighting valiantly with the multi-headed FrictionlessCoin beast, who seems to have finally STFU'd. Nice and quiet for a change on his threads, especially the self-modded one ...3 pages.  Grin

Having just said that: I'm currently under threat of legal action by the FCs, so I'm behaving myself a bit, until I've had time to lawyer up and get some advice (Monday) about my position vs the FCs. I don't expect that he/she/it/they will actually pull the trigger on a legal action, but if it comes to it, I would like to take the opportunity to turn the trial into a fun-filled media event and opportunity for NXT promotion and laughing at the FCs.
Anyone wanna come to Maryland ?
(If u have no idea wtf I am on about, check the recent posts in my profile)

Other things:

Yay, Cryptsy!. Thats good news, to say the least.

Salsacz: its a frame-up. Any idiot can see that. Investigate further....

Cryptmarketcap...voted! Looks like we are winning by a long way...

Miami:...good job so far, guys.

I like the idea of sending preconfigured promo-raspberrys to people Smiley
Its way better than just throwing money at somebody yelling "RESPECT ME!!!1"

That is a good idea. Maybe get a NXT custom case made up for RaspPi/Cubie, preload it with 500 NXT and all software.
It would be a superb high-end promo item.

Passwords/hacking/security:
It's easy to defeat bruteforce.

Instead of using the password for account, use the password as an input for PBKDF2 with number of iterations inversely related to password's length.
The relation: one second for safe passwords, longer for unsafe, let's say it's 15 second for something like "apple".

This makes bruteforcing much harder even for short passwords.

It's possible to add a second simple field, even an user's real name, and use it as a salt. The combination would make bruteforcing almost impossible.

For compatibility with other accounts, it's enough to add a checkbox 'use older password system'.

I can implement this in JS. Jitted JS in new browsers is fast enough. I asked Jean-Luc if he would include this if I did (no point writing only for myself - I have a secure password) but he wasn't interested.

https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=557

This seems like a very good idea, now that I've had it very slowly explained to me. Any dev feedback on it or on increasing password hash strength? Or another way to protect the people (ie almost everyone) who choose weak passwords?

Thats my input, just like to say thanks for the great work from everyone over the last few days.

Onwards and upwards.....and upgrade to 5.10, please.

CARLOS PEREZ AKA FRICTIONLESSCOIN

CONVICTED SCAM ARTIST

Contact:

Convicted ? R u actually sure about that?
And if so, spill the details......popcorn ready.
But:  including his e-mail is a bit out of order, even for the FCs.

Are you serious?

I honestly can't believe everyone keeps falling for bullshit like this, you guys (developers and co.) seem to think the concept op Nxt. was a bad one yet everything in your opening post suggests you've got an interest in Nxt. yourself. I mean you're planning to sell shares of the IPO by only accepting Nxt. gotte say, smart move on your side. By doing this everyone who's interested in investing in your IPO will have to buy Nxt. coins wich will pump the Nxt. price up by a big margin (increased demand for the coin). And after the IPO your planning to sell 4,5% of the total amount of coins that will ever exist for NXT. driving thr price even further upwards?!

Sorry to say this but you're just someone hoping to get rich quickly by taking an a little smarter route than the avarage coin launcher nowadays.

Just my two cents,
Pow

Oh yeah, and just spotted it's a self-moderated topic so my comment will prolly get deleted soon so if you guys could quote me on this it'd be great.

I would like to see more promotional effort and now promotional effort is worth 80NXT or 0.008BTC.

Gogo, put even more money into pocket of this guy. The more of you who will end up scammed the better! Hahha scam of the month!

Was just wondering, is the price bump effective already? I know you said 50 pages.... but there is a lot of junk and multiple posts by the same people that just bumps the price up... are you doing 50 pages or 50 pages of interested investors?(1000 post/people)

This is a scam, you idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Care to explain why u think its a scam ?
The dev team have at least some proven track record here, working on the (currently) 5th largest (by total market cap  Undecided ) crypto-currency. I'm pretty sure NEM will at least fire up some code and throw out a Genesis block, which is lot more than I can say for some of the current IPO's.
(and because I am awaiting legal advice pending a prosecution for defamation from FrictionlessCoin The Corporation, I won't name any of these IPOs)

Bounty ANN: 10 NXT and a free trip to a Maryland courthouse for the first guy to post a comprehensive list of the FC's current projects !

Turns out that FC is even busier:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423538.0

Didn't even notice that he'd launched FrictionlessCoin the currency.

Shall we make a list: NEX, FLC, iXcoin, ZenithCoin...any more?

How does FC find the time for all that dev work?

Going to sell my iXcoin right now, btw.

Thank you for selling your iXcoin! Someone has to sacrifice himself to increase liquidity of iXcoin.

Well appears the NXT gang are trying to discredit the name with a fake posting.

Reality is NXT is poorly designed and has a major flaw.  In time people will realize this.

Fake posting, FC, please explain?
Has some trollish swine set me up?
Is that not your name all over FrictionlessCoin, FrictionlessCoin?

Edit: Or are u referring to me not being really, really enthusiastic about iXcoin ?
Performance speaks for itself: its stable. Good thing for some people, I would have kept them if they weren't connected, however tenuously,  to FC Industriestm
1956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [OFFER] Nxt to NEX - Exchange one Nxt to 50 NEX coins - LIMITED! on: January 25, 2014, 10:26:12 PM
I saw the wave
rise to great heights then crashing,
taking my gold away

Bloody LiteCoins........

Before you lose money with Litecoin, now with iXcoin. There are only Bitcoin, Namecoin and Devcoin left, then you have lost money with all the CEX.io coins. Cheesy
That was a joke....at the time of writing my "get out of Newbietown" haiku Litecoin had managed to dive very deep, so i held and later got out of Litecoin with no noticeable loss, but I'm not very confident about it's future.
But I do still have a big pile of Devcoins, bought in for a whole $10 and i'm not holding my breath waiting for a profit.
Good thing about iXcoin was its relative stability, but that didn't leave much room for trading, and the FC connection poisoned it for me, once I realised the true extent of his activities.

If I manage to make a loss on Bitcoin or NameCoin, I'll let u know.

Edit: however, if u want a real cheap laugh at my expense: i bought 50 Craftcoin @ a dollar per. Still got 'em for some strange reason.

Yep,  seems to be, but FC is all over it, and the BTC addresses for donation seem to match.

Hardly a great sacrifice, considering the bloody things show no sign of price improvement.

Being honest here: I actually bought into iXcoin in the early days of my relationship with the FCs, back when he seemed to be one reasonable, intelligent if slightly annoying, person. So the FCs are somewhat responsible for my miniscule loss on iXcoin. Having seen a lot more of his business dealings over the last weeks, I just don't want to be near anything with his name all over it.

Any court case that FC brings against me (and others) will be made into a media circus, and there will probably be consequences for all FC-related projects.

FC, can you explain this?

Whoops!  Posted this in the self-moderated forum.  Clearly, my mistake.

Well spotted, Jack!

The FCs are busy little bees.
So can we conclude here that there is a serious link with scharmbecky ?

I seem to recall that he is involved fairly deeply with W****Coin, and possibly others.
Nope, my bad, got confused with scharmbeck.

Still: FC supporter or sock puppet?
I've never actually seen a serious FC supporter out here, thought he had a friend in solracx/Carlos, but that turned out not to be the case.  Grin

Looks like the rabbit-hole goes deeper than I ever suspected.

We need to gather more evidence and spread the word to others who may be in the same position as us.....
