Hi guys,
I understant you are mainly windows users of Claymore, but all my rigs are on LINUX (ubuntu 14 and 16), and for me the 11.6 update does not work at all. With everything else being the same, all I get is :
"
ͻ
                Claymore's Dual GPU Miner - v11.6
              ETH + DCR/SIA/LBC/PASC/BLAKE2S/KECCAK
ͼ

ETH: 5 pools are specified
Main Ethereum pool is eth-eu1.nanopool.org:9999
Cannot load OpenCL library, AMD cards will be unavailable
No NVIDIA CUDA GPUs detected.
No AMD OPENCL or NVIDIA CUDA GPUs found, exit
"
Previously Claymore 11.5 was working perfectly fine, I never had to install OpenCL library... And I have the same error for my AMD and NVIDIA rigs... guesse I will stay with 11.5 for long now.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Why GTX980 Ti runs only 5Mh/s? I tried Win 7/10, many different drivers, HDMI-VGA adapter, but no result. Under equihash works fine as before.

Has anyone seen here that video from youtube using EPU-6 from ASUS? the guy got 37Mhs from 580 8GB. how true is that.

tried to use that EPU-6 but it seems it is only for ASUS Mobo - obviously

FYI:
I have mod/flash some setting into bios so I can automate the startup process. But I found it is very inconvenient because 1) everytime you want change the setting, you have to mod it again. 2) down time is too long if you have lots of GPUs on a rig and many rigs. command line argument (software way vs. hardware way) is far more easier and quicker.

If you're tweaking memory clocks / power settings, stick with Overdriventool. You can create a profile for each unique card, apply the appropriate overclock / undervolt settings, and then use the overdriventool command line + appropriate parameters to run in the same batch file as your Claymore startup file. This will apply the appropriate overclocks, and saves the headache of modifying the BIOS every time you have a simple change you want to test.

Thanks a lot
I heard Overdriventool but haven't tried it. Many people mention that you need to uninstall WattMan (AMD setting) for Overdriventool to work, otherwise, things will reset, is that true?

I've never used Wattman, so can't speak to it (but I believe it's installed by default with drivers?), but I've never had a problem with overdriventool running and sticking. Even if it doesn't persist through a reboot, it'll be applied again before mining starts, so it'll stick one way or another.

googled such a video and read commets, here is one of them:

'Staff works yes! I managed to increase from 29 to 35, only to a problem of recognition of increased mhs, the pool continues the same thing, I will have spent 20 hours and not increased the rewards, it's like I'm mining with my 29 mhs'

LOL! at first i was amaze by that settings, and tried everything including downloading a similar app of EPU-6 for MSI Boards.
seems like it messes up the hashrate numbers of the miner?

does this mean that Phoenix Miner is more like doing this kind of stuff?

well atleast youve tried and proved that is not true.. appreciate your response here dude.

What is the best miner to mine Zero Coin on Windows using AMD GPU RX580 8 G or 4 G please.
I'm mining the coin currently using the optimizer. Thanks

Card - Sapphire Rx 580 pulse
Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.3.4 and Claymore 11.6 version

- snip

30.5 eth -
1470 blake2s
dcri = 47
power = 94 -95 watt per card

-snip

nope cards are not bios moded anymore, restored original bios

Wait a minute, you are getting 30,5 with original BIOS?
How is that possible and what made you go from modded to original?

small improvement is needed:
will be great to programmatically enable "Compute Mode" before mining started, and if I will need to disable it I can press 'y'.

AMD-Compute-Switcher is a handy little tool that will let you switch both ways. You will have to reboot tho, i suppose you have to do that after pressing Y also? Download it from here:

power = 94 -95 watt per card

& the 94-95 WATT consumption is on the wall or how did You have measured it?

I am using hwinfo64 tool to check wattage, don't have any physical tool to check from the wall. On the beta version, it used to show around 100-101 watt per card.

The problem with those wattage claims is that AMD Polaris cards only report the power used by the GPU itself, NOT the total power used by the card.
This is a HARDWARE limitation issue that no software can work around at this point.

Nvidia cards on the other hand DO report total card power (except for the bugged GTX 1050/1050 ti ones), so tools like Nvidia-SMI and such tend to give fairly accurate information.

Newer Claymore versions are compiled against a GCC library that doesn't normally exist on Ubuntu 14.x and can be a major pain to GET installed (Canonical doesn't support it directly, you have to get "fancy" with Debian package management or install source and compile it).
If you are using older cards with the fglrx driver, you have to stick with 14.04.03 (or 14.04.04/05 IF you downgrade the Xserver to the version 14.04.03 used) due to incompatability with fglrx.

16.04 and later you HAVE to use the AMDGPU driver stack, which has limited support for older cards at all and doesn't "officially" support power limit control or undervolting AT ALL even on Polaris/Vega cards (and forget about clock control on R9 series cards as it DOES NOT WORK).

Claymore needs to FIX his "recommended drivers" as the 15.12 Catalyst drivers aren't supported any more under LINUX, never did work with Polaris cards (too outdated).
I also fail to understand why he recommends 16.12 at ALL as that version DID NOT SUPPORT BIOS MODDED CARDS AT ALL (16.9.2 would be a MUCH better option for Windows 7, blockchain or very recent versions for Windows 10).

tried 11.5 with rx 570 4G, with the same bios and OC settings on win10 and on ubuntu 16.04, but for some reasons claymore on ubuntu shows ~0.5 mh/s lower speed than on win, why so much difference?

I think WattMan is installed by default with AMD setting and drivers. You can choose customize installation and uncheck AMD setting to not install WattMan.
What you suggest is covering 95~99% of time, with some exception. I have RX 580 setting revert to default. I am assuming either WattMan (90% confidence) or (10% afterburn 10% confidence) overide the claymore OC command arguements. The system keep running w/o error (no reboot) Claymore runs (no crash/restart). Whatever is in the script doesn't get triggered and thing gone bad!

Today I found another unexpected:
One of my GPU has been finding incorrect shares for 6 hours. This GPU never had any incorrect share for 1 year. Out of 157 share found, all of them are incorrect. This never happened before. 6 hour of electricity is wasted for nothing. This is worse than crash or hang. If the miner crash/restart during the 6 hour spin, the problem would be fixed.

Eventually, when enough people confirm 18.3 is more stable and people can use claymore OC setting arguement to control RX 580. I will swiitch. Thanks

A .5 drop in Hash rate between 17.1 and 18.3.4 amd drivers across 10 AMD cards, mixed of RX 570/580 4GB/8GB MSI, powercolor, Sapphire, XFX and Asus cards.
No difference in hashrate changes between 11.4 and 11.6 using the new 18.3.4 drivers.

I'm too lazy to switch back to older drivers for the .5 hash for now at least.

My cards are all Bios modded and using OverDriventool, I use Trixx for fan control (afterburner doesn't work) on 1 rig and Overdriven's temp control set on another just to see which i like better, so far they both do ok.

I don't use claymore line commands for voltage anymore, it was giving me some issues here and there.

Most of my mods are PBE 1 click mod using the free performance timings.

and that AMD switch program is a life saver!

I used to use afterburner to undervolt on blockchain driver.  Recently I updated to 18.2 drivers and now use overdriventool.  The only problem is that I can't undervolt the Asus rog strix rx570s.  Overdrive accepts the voltage and applies it.  But HWinfo shows a higher voltage.  No matter what I set the voltage to in overdrive or claymore command line, HWinfo always shows the same voltage for the rog rx570s.

Voltage control is fine on msi rx570 and on all 580s.

Any ideas?  Any other software that can apply a voltage offset like afterburner does?

sometimes OC doesnt work when you don't have a monitor (or fake monitor plug) plugged into one of the cards.

tried 11.5 with rx 570 4G, with the same bios and OC settings on win10 and on ubuntu 16.04, but for some reasons claymore on ubuntu shows ~0.5 mh/s lower speed than on win, why so much difference?

I have about 0.2-0.3 dropped, think it is due to be more stable. With 11.5 I had probably 3x more crashes/reboots. Statistcally this will be more fluid and more effective in the long run hopefully.

Merit me or don't.
