At the rate that Knc is going not shipping the batch 2 Neptune's yet it looks like they will owe me 3 or 4 Neptune's! Smiley

This is shocking!  Do they think that because they shipped at least one Neptune by Q1/Q2 that they have met their timeline obligation?  That is totally absurd.  'Ontime and overspec' is their claim with this performance?  What if they take another 12 months to deliver the remaining Neptunes?  They still claim to meet their timeline?  I've got a feeling customers aren't going to stand by forever.  Probably time for serious action.

Nah, I suspect they will have to either provide 6 or 12 Neptune's to batch 2 and something similar to Batch 3 (1&2) owners.

It amazes me to see some of you guys still have faith in KfC.

It's over 3 weeks since they tried to sweep under the carpet they ran out of chips. Plenty Batch 1 customers are still waiting. Not a single update for customers to let them know anything about this situation in over three weeks.

They fed everyone lies claiming they would continue shipping and the fact they had no chips was not a problem  Grin

Anyone waiting for Batch 2 who thinks they will get a bonus for the wait really needs to think again Cheesy You don't know how kfc operate if you think that.

It also seems they are taking 2+ weeks to RMA anything. No doubt, taking their time and looking for ways to blame the customer and not their hardware.

If they were some crappy ebay seller selling hairbrushes with led lights in the handle or some other cheap mass produced crap, it's the kind of customer service you'd expect.

But it's an appalling way to treat customers who paid $10,000 each (or more) for knc's hardware.

Well excuse me for not reading every post in this thread before I ask a question. Anybody with half a brain could figure out that if I had seen Tulip's comment I wouldn't have asked the question.

You don't need to read every post in the thread, but reading the most recent on a specific topic certainly help if you're going to have a discussion.

You Neptune owners are a touchy bad tempered lot. Can't imagine why. Better luck next time fellas ~L)L~
I never ordered one of these piles of junk.  My only pre-order ever was for an Avalon at the very beginning of this whole ASIC game.

So, in conclusion, if it is a LM75 then yes it is measuring the board temperature in its locale, not the on die ASIC temperature via a temperature diode on the ASIC.

Correct.

More details please

I adjust voltage in BOTH directions and compare results.
I seek lowest current.
I don't care what the voltage is if the ASIC works.
Lowest current for me is lower voltage.
Lower current is often also lower temperature on ASIC and VRM.
Some die are different.

Yours ASICs could be different.

YMMV
Smiley

EDIT
lower voltage is more NEGATIVE number (notice the sign in front of the numbers)
Try -0.0439 and see if your ASIC is happy! Smiley

If your speed is 3.56 just let it run!!!

or
Look on Advanced page for WHY.
If numbers for current(A or I) and power(Watt) go up,
adjust in other direction and retest.

You can also adjust and use temperature as decision variable.
(if that is what interests you)

All ASIC are different.
Some are power hungry.

You may also have PCIe cable that is different.
Did you try different PCIe cable?

YMMV

You can check each of the 6 PCIe wires for hot.
If you find one that is NOT hot when all others are it is the problem.
If you find one that is NOT hot when all others are it is the problem.
If you find one that is NOT hot when all others are it is the problem.

You need all 6 PCIe wires working for 'safe' operation.
They should all be same temperature.

Best to change the PCIe cable if you have ONE cool wire in a hot cable.
You could also inspect the cable and look for wires that are not pushed all the way into the plastic connector housing.
If it is a modular PSU look at PSU end also.
Be sure connectors are installed all the way.
PUSH on wires when connecting, PULL on plastic housing when disconnecting.

Most melted PCIe cables I have ever seen were caused by a failure in one of the 6 wires.
If you ever find only 2 melted it is because they did not survive doing work for bad wire.
They tried but failed.
...............................................................................

You might just have a ASIC that uses more power.

YMMV
Smiley

Sam as Hitler and GAW Josh as Stalin. This video is pretty much spot on. Most amusing

In other "hater" news, some well deserved bad press for KNC. If I had written it, I would have used the words "lining their own pockets", "blatant lies" and "evil fucks" a bit more often. But that's just me  Grin

To respond:

I don't understand you hater folk.

Neither do I. The guy simply asked you a question and you got offended (or not).

Just an FYI but It's _my_ credibility you have questioned.
I looked at the parts and reported here as asked.

So no one gets offended ever by a troll or newbie or someone trying to be a a-hole?

And of course, no one ever gets sarcastic

You can check each of the 6 PCIe wires for hot.
If you find one that is NOT hot when all others are it is the problem.
