There is no such analog sensor input on any of the lm75 revisions posted in the last couple of pages.

Just an FYI but It's _my_ credibility you have questioned.

just a little touchy are we tulip ?

That now leaves me wondering why there are two LM75 devices adjacent to each other.

At the rate that Knc is going not shipping the batch 2 Neptune's yet it looks like they will owe me 3 or 4 Neptune's! Smiley

This is shocking!  Do they think that because they shipped at least one Neptune by Q1/Q2 that they have met their timeline obligation?  That is totally absurd.  'Ontime and overspec' is their claim with this performance?  What if they take another 12 months to deliver the remaining Neptunes?  They still claim to meet their timeline?  I've got a feeling customers aren't going to stand by forever.  Probably time for serious action.

There aren't, and tolip_wen already told you what the other was.

Please forgive me for just answering the fucking question that was asked.

One is an
LM75
(closer to PCIe)

other is
24C32WP
k348k

It's the i2c EEprom

YMMV

Well excuse me for not reading every post in this thread before I ask a question. Anybody with half a brain could figure out that if I had seen Tulip's comment I wouldn't have asked the question.

You Neptune owners are a touchy bad tempered lot. Can't imagine why. Better luck next time fellas ~L)L~

So, in conclusion, if it is a LM75 then yes it is measuring the board temperature in its locale, not the on die ASIC temperature via a temperature diode on the ASIC. Is anybody having trouble with cooling fans not operating correctly ? Is anybody having trouble ROI'ing their Neptune ?

Thanks tolip.

And maybe you could give your opinion on the statement "Core temperature sensing is performed by circuits on the die"

The LM75 measures it own case temperature.
There _IS_ a die in there though.

The original statement may have originated by someone who was wordlexic.
Die(s)/PCB/cube whatever.

I don't rely on that temp for much of anything.
I ALWAYS use the hottest temp I can find for cooling decisions.

As I type...
67C on bottom of PCB directly below ASIC
61C reported by LM75

I IR gunned the PCB temp.
I could probbably find hotter but bottom of PCB's is inside my pentagon with trapped V8 bottle.
It's tight in there and the bottle is not a cooperative captive.

My 'workshop' is just a wire rack in my kitchen.
I live in a small 2 room shoe.

My main design goal for first stage with the Nep cooling was remote heat exchange.
Another main factor was low downtime.
I built the loop and modded a cube at a time while the other 4 hashed away.

It is very much a temporary prototyping environment.
The Hoopiter had a similar long transition into a neat case.
If they runnin no hurry. Smiley

No nightmares. the Nep system is just over 3L of H2O.

YMMV

Nah, I suspect they will have to either provide 6 or 12 Neptune's to batch 2 and something similar to Batch 3 (1&2) owners.

It amazes me to see some of you guys still have faith in KfC.

It's over 3 weeks since they tried to sweep under the carpet they ran out of chips. Plenty Batch 1 customers are still waiting. Not a single update for customers to let them know anything about this situation in over three weeks.

They fed everyone lies claiming they would continue shipping and the fact they had no chips was not a problem  Grin

Anyone waiting for Batch 2 who thinks they will get a bonus for the wait really needs to think again Cheesy You don't know how kfc operate if you think that.

It also seems they are taking 2+ weeks to RMA anything. No doubt, taking their time and looking for ways to blame the customer and not their hardware.

If they were some crappy ebay seller selling hairbrushes with led lights in the handle or some other cheap mass produced crap, it's the kind of customer service you'd expect.

But it's an appalling way to treat customers who paid $10,000 each (or more) for knc's hardware.

You don't need to read every post in the thread, but reading the most recent on a specific topic certainly help if you're going to have a discussion.

I never ordered one of these piles of junk.  My only pre-order ever was for an Avalon at the very beginning of this whole ASIC game.

More details please

I adjust voltage in BOTH directions and compare results.
I seek lowest current.
I don't care what the voltage is if the ASIC works.
Lowest current for me is lower voltage.
Lower current is often also lower temperature on ASIC and VRM.
Some die are different.

Yours ASICs could be different.

YMMV
Smiley

EDIT
lower voltage is more NEGATIVE number (notice the sign in front of the numbers)
Try -0.0439 and see if your ASIC is happy! Smiley
