oh man and i always though the reason to use vmware is, that its working out of the box without problems ... now i'm glad i use kvm Smiley

I has been using Xen everytime for many years (on Linode as a customer, but also on my own boxes) and once it was running, I never had any issue with it. I'm also surprised that it don't work  out of the box.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I'm also surprised by low latency on Tor network. I remember than few years ago it was nearly impossible to browse onion sites, but now it's pretty comfortable. Of course building circuit take some time, but then I'm usually having responses under one second, which is excellent.

New Tor address for pool is: poolziyzjb25aa4e.onion

That actually works? Impressive.

I might put a miner on it for a while just to see if TOR is up to low latency connections. I assumed it wasn't.

Hypothetically, say everyone would switch to Tor, would it still work on a large scale?

All miners over Tor? Yes. See http://torstatus.blutmagie.de for Tor routers and their bandwith... Actually *internal* speed should be pretty good (capacity of exit nodes is different story).

Pool traffic is currently around 1MB/s and it's roughly 10% of Bitcoin hashrate. So all miners over Tor would take about 10MB/s, which is still pretty acceptable.

Edit: I'm sorry, but I cannot finish processing payments, have some important meeting now. But no coins are lost, I just need some time to recalculate crippled rounds from time out pool outages.

Im guessing it will end up invalid.  Not sure why, but a lot of the blocks I've seen that short end up being marked invalid.

1. Strange, re: waiting three days since I believe my last namecoin payout from Slush occurred two days ago.
2. The webpage says (although down at the moment) that payouts should be processed by Nov 3rd at 12:00 UTC

Funny I've been checking every hr & never saw said notice

This IS BAD up & down for at least 3 days is BS
playing with tor instead of TCB
I've been getting http timeouts for 2 wks but only on one machine and yes it's using api2 address

I was trying to check namecoin stuff and have been waiting for funds to build & process

at this point I've gotten more straight pay out from deepbit in the last 24hrs
than slushes proportional pay scheme for every day last week

putting it mildly I"m not a happy camper

And people wonder why slush nearly shut the pool down for good... bitching about known issues doesn't exactly help them get solved faster.  All you're doing is adding more stress to the admin who does significantly more work than miners and at these prices probably doesn't make much more than them.

Yep, calm down, it's no big deal. We can just use the back-up pool for the time being. And honestly, not that two days of payout will make you any richer unless you had 10+ Ghash pointed at the pool, in which case you could have also gone solo. Peace.

Exactly this. You don't like this pool rent your own dedicated server and setup your own one. You try making it profitable and stable with the current BitCoin price.

Or solo mine. Whatever you do just don't make the deepbit problem any worse..

Certainly gives you more than the slush pool does when it actually runs and that includes the so called namcoin bonus added in.

OK I do not doubt your observations but can you please attempt to explain why or at least theorize why this is happening etc. !?
