Was trying to figure out why my 5970 hashrate dropped from ~700 to closer to ~600mhash. Then I read this thread and realized that I had updated to the 11.12 drivers. Guess it's time to downgrade back to 11.11, thanks Did downgrading back to 11.11 work for you? It didn't for me. I went from ~440 to ~420 so I uninstalled catalyst 11.12 and reinstalled 11.11 and I am still at ~420 mhash/sec. Hmm...

It is the SDK 2.6 (included in 11.12 or later) which reduces performance. If you search the forum you will find steps to manually replace SDK 2.6 w/ SDK 2.5 or earlier.

Thanks! EDIT: As a bonus, my CPU usage still seems to be low (<25% for 2x5970s). Not sure how that worked out so well

woohooo...now I can finally get my *precious* namecoins..
I sold all my 36 namecoins for 0.02000000 btc at bitparking and on top of their charge of 0.4 per cent, if I want to withdraw they charge 0.01000000 so in fact I will have 0.01000000 btc all in all sent to my bitcoin client. I'm sorry, but -wtf-. It really isn't worth the bother anymore.

Now if only mtgox opened a NMC exchange I think it would really help it out a bit. I'm not just referring to NMC <---> BTC but also USD <---> NMC

+1 I think the main issue is the lack of demand. Namecoins only have one use right now, which is the .bit naming system. There aren't enough people browsing .bit domains. Maybe if they were seamlessly integrated into tor, adoption would increase and the value of Namecoins would increase. There was a time when Bitcoins were just as new and had a similar low value compared to USD, but I don't foresee the value of Namecoins hitting US$30 within the next few years ...

If you're not going to use them, turn the mining off and leave more for those of us that will use them

If you're not going to use them, turn the mining off and leave more for those of us that will use them SECONDED IN THE UTMOST ALLOWABLE MANNER /thanks It appears that neither of you understand how merged mining works. Each valid Bitcoin share has the potential to also be a valid Namecoin share, and only needs to be compared against the Namecoin chain - there is no extra mining or such going on. Although, if he deletes his Namecoin address, his reward will be split among the rest of the users, so that could work I suppose

Nobody will ever go to my .bit website if they have to programme their browser. I'd love to use it, I even tried the webhosting stuff but it's pretty much pointless and makes the impression for outsiders my webpage is subcultural or suspiciously hacker related. I believe noone will update their browsers to go to hidden pages (right now).

^^^^^^^^ +1
I wish it was as easy as setting up a .com or any other such domains. If only BIND and other dns servers would jump on board and include support for NMC even as an optional feature available during compile.
