What did we think about last nights card? Some good fights, and some not so good ones. The one that stood out to me for being of low quality was; Andreas VS KB Bhullar. Andreas, was bringing the fight as much as he could, and he usually does. However, KB Bhullar I'm not convinced he's cut out for fighting. Hes got fantastic technique, but no real conviction in his shots. Its almost like he doesn't want to hurt his opponent. I thought his performance was timid, and he played defensively even when he was clearly down two rounds. His corner suggested he would require a knockout, and he did the exact same thing in the third that he did in the previous two, and that's not a lot. The significant strikes was like 40 to 6 at one point.
He really needs a good performance next time out, otherwise I think he'll be cut, despite being new to the division. The only saving grace is he was against an Andreas who was looking to knock him out with every swing, so you could argue he was wary of that.
However, surely you want to be a fighter to remember, and not one to forget. Reyes fight was good, and what a finish it was, and the early prelims are living up to the other prelims in 2021.

^ It was a decent card... Brown vs Kamaka was a banger and so were Merab vs Stamann and Cutelaba vs Jacoby even though they went to decision.
The main and the co main were great as expected. But I didn’t expect Chikadze to finish Swanson so quick... with a liver shot. Lol. The under 2.5 rounds had decent value at 2.65.

That was a great fight card to watch and especially main and co-main event, Giga Chikadze impressed me and he event said that he is ready to fight next week, because he is not returning to Georgia before that. Dominick Reyes got a broken nose with his pride again and we might see longer break from him after losing 3 fights in a row, but I am afraid people are pumping Jiri Prochazka to early for tile shot after just two fights in UFC. In this fight Prochazka was dominating and fully deserved to win but same thing could happen to him like with Reyes after losing fight with Jon Jones.

I was able to watch the main card and Jiří Procházka impressed me the most and i was watching his old fights but the problem i had is that he never defeated elite fighters outside the UFC and even when he defeated Volkan Oezdemir i thought it was a lucky punch but now i am convinced that Jiří Procházka could be a title prospect if he continues to improve his skills as he said in the post fight show and he can fight for the title next but it looks like he is not too keen on that as he wants to enjoy the experience before getting the title shot.

Yes very good fight night with 2 KO in the 2 main events, after 3 KO in the 3 main events at UFC 261 (who said KO are rare in main events?) So I didn't bet on rounds number under 2.5 but I will get bigger odds than that at the end thanks to the KO double winnings bonus from Stake. I bet on Prochazka at 1.89 and on Chikadze at 1.61, so I will get 3.78 and 3.22 payouts with this bonus.

KO's are becoming rare because MMA fighters today are now very careful unlike back in the early days of UFC. You get knockdown today, you also have a meme of yourself. I had it in mind that a man with tattoos is actually have high pain tolerance but a body kick folded Swanson quickly. He was expecting a high kick from Chikadze but it was meant a bodykick.

UFC Fight Night: Reyes VS Prochazka
Ion Cutelaba VS Dustin Jacoby
It is really unusual on UFC for a result of a split draw, but that was what the judges have seen and I think that Cutelaba was doing fine with the takedowns until in the later round they are equally exchanging fist, I think Cutelaba may have won that if he keeps on aggressively pinning down Jacoby but that's not happening instead he engages in an exchange of fist.
Giga Chikadze VS Cub Swanson
This is surely a pretty smooth Kick the Giga Kick! I should say that Chikadze maybe is the best striker in this Division and many will surely be going to have a problem with him if his opponent is not a grappler then they will likely gonna have trouble that smart timing and precision just like calculating and manipulating his opponent is a slick tactic.
Dominick Reyes VS Jiri Prochazka
Uniquely as it gets Jiri Prochazka after seeing him fight I would surely love to see him fight again, Coming from a really weird angle while punching and a really weird stance that is unpredictable Prochazka had shown us a new style in fighting, Prochazka maybe has his guard down but I think this is his game plan, a very unique way in fighting that Reyes wasn't able to read.

^ Cutelaba gassed out. A round more and I think Jacoby would’ve won that just from pure volume alone. And yup, I’d like see Chikadze fight a good wrestler within the top 10. He had problems with Emmers when Emmers started to clinch and grapple vs him. I like Prochazka but I don’t know how his chin holds vs Blachowicz. He was knocked out once in Rizin: https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/fighters/34779-jiri-prochazka

Just wanted to post my regular event information, but seems that there is nothing to post. Even though on May 8 UFC on ESPN: Sandhagen vs. Dillashaw is scheduled, almost every fight is cancelled either due to injury, either due to illness.
Only available info: Jun Yong Park vs. Tafon Nchukwi in prelims.
Good news: Tickets section returned in ufc.com>events. Looks like we set a course to "back to normal" land.

We've definitely had plenty of KO's this year. The only real cautious fighter I've seen is Bhullar like I mentioned, which I thought was pretty embarrassing that he wasn't even looking to throw hands. However, for the rest there will always be strikers, and there will always be wrestlers, and the later tend to not get knocked out as much, even when fighting against a striker. Yeah, I don't agree with your tattoo observation, although I think to be signed by the UFC, you've got to have a rather bad tattoo somewhere on your body these days. I swear most fighters have a real ugly or poorly done tattoo, with the exception of a few.

I couldnt believe how technically sound Usman was and how easily he dismantlement Masvidal. I still cant believe it. He has to be one of the most (if not the) dominant Welterweight division fighter ever. All the main card fights were either 1st or 2nd round KO's or TKO's. Including that gruesome Chris Weidman broken shin. The Rose Namajunas's left high kick to the face.. was a memorable night.

Usman is definitely shaping up to be one of the best fighters to ever roam that division, however, I wouldn't be so bold to call him the most dominant fighter ever (in that division) because it boils down to the quality of opponents the champ has and, to be honest, Masvidal was never up there in terms of his quality, he got most of his hype from murdering Ben Askren, slapping Leon Edwards in the backstage, and fighting for a nonexisting BMF title with Nate Diaz. So Usman having two dominating fights over Masvidal does not come close to, let's say Robby Lawler who had 3 consecutive title defences against prime Johnny Hendricks, Carlos Condit and Rory MacDonald. I think Usman will, and can be one of the best, but let's give him some time.

Nate Diaz VS Leon Edwards has been moved to UFC 263 unfortunately. Reports are saying that Nate Diaz as picked up an injury, without actually providing what injury that might be. So, that's a little disappointing, and thins out the card a little bit.
Also, I'm hearing that Jake Matthews has permanent eye damage from eye gouging which happened between Li Jingliang. Obviously, we've seen a lot of it this year, and there's probably been worse instances (in terms of immediate reaction) which haven't done any permanent damage. Although, its clearly a problem. What can UFC do to prevent this? Harsher consequences?

penalty for chickening 😁 and the penalty fee goes to the one who respond as replacement. so you can expect kevin holland in every weekend. although i dont think nate diaz will really back away a fight. weve see how tough he is so this must be a serious injury.

The rumored replacement will be Marina Rodriguez vs Michelle Waterson. At first glance of the match ups, I think Ribas vs Hill and Neal vs Magny should be closer. And I don’t see odds on Cerrone yet. I hope they misprice Morono as a huge underdog.

penalty for chickening 😁 and the penalty fee goes to the one who respond as replacement. so you can expect kevin holland in every weekend.
although i dont think nate diaz will really back away a fight. weve see how tough he is so this must be a serious injury.
They are preparing for a fight and injuries are a part of this competition and so is the reason it is called the hurt business and you cannot go around fighters for getting injured during practice sessions. Nate Diaz is also not getting younger and if he is injured he knows that the recovery takes time and when you are young you could get cured easily but that is not the situation when you cross a certain age. Kevin Holland needs to fix his ground skills before competing again and he really needs some rest.

Easier said than done though. It usually takes years to get competent at any form of Jiu Jitsu simply because of muscle memory. You can actually learn the moves very quickly, but it all changes when your put in a competitive environment, and that's without taking into consideration that you have to defend from punches, and could be buzzed by a punch too. He does need to fix it, as its going to be exploited a lot of often now that its been highlighted twice. Although, maybe Holland cherrypicks his opponents from now on. I can't see it, at least one positive with Holland is he seems like he'll fight anyone they put in front of him.
