It was a great fight to watch but I hear a lot of complains about judging of main event, Cory Sandhagen had more significant and total strikes, he had one submission, but Dillashaw had two takedowns from many attempts, and he had a lot of leg kicks. Split decision was made for TJ Dillashaw to win in this fight and he is probably going to fight with Aljamain Sterling or Petr Yan next. https://www.ufc.com/news/official-scorecards-ufc-fight-night-sandhagen-vs-dillashaw

@notblox1. However, T.J. Dillashaw’s takedowns did not do harm on Cory Sandhagen. I thought Cory won that fight, however, the judges in Las Vegas that night clearly were not watching the fight intently hehehe. I reckon next will be T.J. versus the winner of Aljamain versus Yan.

Uriah Hall has been always "a bit better than average" fighter. As it he always lack something small to win. Like his skill of fighting is always for 1 point lower than his opponents. I agree that it is always exciting to watch him fighting, as he either TKO/KO his opponent, or gets TKOed/KOed Stability ! Anyway, if he wins, I think next time he will get Jack Hermansson or Derek Brunson next.

^ Sandhagen threw the more solid shots but the match itself could’ve gone either way. So no bad judging there. But I can’t the same for Barber. I had it for Maverick 29 - 28... The Paiva one was back and forth too. I haven’t checked but I think either that or the main event is fight of the night.
... Next event is kinda meh. But looking forward to Chris Daukas and Danny Chavez.
Even though I don't like the outcome, I still think that Dillashaw also did his best and could also win that fight, well that is the judge's decision and just like what I have said the judge might not see any nook and crannies of the fight that is why some have favored Dillashaw more than Sandhagen, @notblox1.
I also think that the judge doesn't wear any glasses that night to doesn't spot all given strikes of Cory Sanhagen mostly on the 5th round, that is why I really feel Sandhagen's frustration after the announcement of who really won, that was pretty much all for Cory Sandhagen per se but we can not take out that the judges might see something on Dillashaw's performance that we didn't see.

^ Again.. I said it could’ve gone either way. If the judges watch the exact same fight next week with it being fought exactly the same, the judges could give the W to Sandhagen. It was just that close that you can’t say that it was a robbery.
Anyway, who you guys got for the next event?

It was just that close that you can’t say that it was a robbery. May be but it was a really close fight and it depends upon which judges scores the fight, if the same judges scores the fight then i am not expecting anything different from what they did the last time. Cory Sandhagen and T.J. Dillashaw needs to rematch and hopefully the UFC will make that happen unless T.J. Dillashaw rejects that proposal because he is demanding a title fight next. Anyway, who you guys got for the next event?
Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland as the main event and it is difficult to predict as Uriah Hall is always unpredictably but still going with Sean Strickland to win the fight.

Yeah, what I was alluding to by saying it was ruined by bad judges it was more the fights before the main event, i.e the Barber decision. I had her losing the first two rounds, pretty convincingly to be honest, and then winning convincingly on the third round. I thought it was ludicrous that she got that win. The Sandhagen VS TJ fight was pretty close, and depending on how you look at it TJ was pressuring the whole fight, had a lot of control time albeit it was up against the cage, and attempting a lot of takedowns, although I believe it was something like a 13% success rate sometime late on in the fight. So, I would probably give Sandhagen the credit there for his defense.
I personally didn't like the control time on the fence, since TJ wasn't advancing position or doing any damage there. Instead, he held Sandhagen there until Sandhagen eventually was able to break the hands every time. Then, it would be largely back to Sandhagen scoring more clean hits than TJ.
TJ did better than I expected though, didn't show any signs of rustiness.

Always a bridesmaid never a bride XD From the TUF days under Sonnen, he seemed like he's really good but there's just something missing to complete the picture. Maybe he finally got his mojo going, but we will see. Anyway, I don't see him ever being a champ, but I would like to see him as a threat in the upper echelons.

^ He's lacking the fight IQ I guess?
He could have won the TUF finale against Gastelum. He had him curled up on the ground and all he had to do is pounce but I don't know what he was thinking when he allowed Kevin to get up. This was just at the top of my head (I was trying to search their fight on YT but couldn't find it).

Pfuu...I mean it could be that, but I never really saw it like that. We can maybe attribute it to a couple of factors like Fight IQ, an inadequate skill set, and just not having that ''edge'' that would take him just over the edge. But those things, unfortunately, can't be solved.

Interesting new four-fight contract signing for UFC is Mike Mathetha 'Blood Diamond', he is Israel Adesanya teammate and coming from kickboxing background. He is a member of New Zealand, Auckland’s City Kickboxing and originally coming from Zimbabwe, Africa and has a record of 3-0 in MMA smaller organizations, but he is much more experienced in kickboxing with over 60 fights and more than 50 wins. Other notable fighters who trained at City Kickboxing are Alexander Volkanovski, Kai Kara, Dan Hooker, Shane Young, Brad Riddell, Carlos Ulberg, Jacob Malkoun so it will be interesting to see Blood Diamond in UFC. His weight class is probably going to be welterweight with and his height is 5'11 inches or 180cm. Here is Blood Diamond talking for MMA Fighting in 2020: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mV3LkIMEttk

Here’s the thing with the main event tho, Strickland is chinny and doesn’t shoot a lot of TD’s. So for how his current is line is right now, it’s not worth it imo. And Hall’s weakness is being taken down. Vids to watch... I’m kinda leaning Hall and the under here. Well, you are right the fight was really close, but I'll be bias with Sandhagen on the 5th round I really think that he totally dominated Dillashaw in that round only, Right now, I am still torn on who I am going to pick, with Uriah Hall or Sean Strickland but maybe Uriah Hall has the edge for me, but it can change depends on my research, the Co-main is an interesting fight as well that I need to look up first, and for the Preliminary the Ashley Yoder VS Jinh Yu Frey could be a delight to behold, so I will sure put my nose on that fight, I will post immediately what I think and will be my pick.

So are we just ignoring that Dillon Danis issued a call for an MMA fight with John Wayne Parr XD Danis cracks me up, but I always wondered what pays his bills, cuz he ain't getting any money from fights. Anyway thought this was funny, however, JWP has been linked with Dan Hardy for an MT fight, and that's much more interesting.

Oh that Dillon guy is almost slimy as his buddy Conor McGregor, but Conor was much better fighter once upon a time, now he is just a rich millionaire with broken leg and ego. I just checked his twitter account and he publicly congratulated Dana White his birthday, so maybe he is dreaming of getting back to UFC Just a reminder that his last fight was in Bellator back in 2019...

He sure spouts a lot on Twitter, and yes greeting Dana White on his birthday, with a picture on top maybe it is just a move to get Dana White's attention to set up a road for his debut in UFC, and his 2 fights on Bellator was a 100% win with Submission moves with the two guys that don't really have a good record in my opinion, And maybe he is getting his money with Cryptocurrency he is sure public about getting into investing with a gambling Shiba or something, and he is getting some moves on Dana White to get his attention-getting on with UFC.

Here’s the thing with the main event tho, Strickland is chinny and doesn’t shoot a lot of TD’s. So for how his current is line is right now, it’s not worth it imo. And Hall’s weakness is being taken down.
Yeah, Strickland has done well since coming back, but he hasn't really been tested all that much. Uriah will test him, and while Strickland has some very slick punches, Uriah if he ever gets in trouble will go for the take down, and probably get it. This could just be a war of attrition, and Uriah wins by control time or Uriah knocks him out probably via ground, and pound. I think Strickland could probably out strike Uriah in the stand up, but we haven't seen him perform well on the ground, and Uriah needs to recognize that early, and just take him down, wear him out so that at least if he can't get him out of there he will stay safe himself, and will wear down Strickland to the point where he won't have much left in the gas tank to actually throw punches.
