First of all, men and women are not equal. So the point of giving men’s cricket the same importance as women’s cricket is just absolutely dumb. I think we all can understand that women’s cricket is never going to be as popular as men’s cricket. At least not as long as the women cricketers keep their clothes on. And this is not me being misogynist, this is just me spitting facts. And the point that you said about women’s cricket, not having good enough women fans is the one I agree with because a woman in her 20s is going to want to explore the world, and a woman in her 30s is going to want to stay home and look after her family. So, it will be very hard for women’s cricket to actually get women's fans. The society is rapidly changing. Women in their 30s are no longer sitting at home and looking after children. At least in India, that is not the case. More and more of them are becoming interested in cricket, although when compared to men the interest levels lag behind. One main issue here is that the purchasing power lies with men, especially in the sub-continent. If women's cricket is predominantly watched by the women themselves, then the advertisement revenue may be much lower when compared to the men's variety.

Women cricket should be given equal importance as that of the men's cricket. This isn't happening in reality, very few boards have done it in the right way. Most of the Asian cricket boards, particularly Indian board is much focused on money. Now the prime focus is to make money and if the women's IPL turns to be a success, the women cricketing will get importance. If not, they're supposed to be the same as now.
I also agree with that its should be equal importance to both gender as same in cricket. But in reality it doesn't happen except few countries are exceptions. Women's cricket is not given much importance because its viewers are less and hence the possibility of loss is more for more invest in it, so women's cricket is given less importance for this. Moreover, if we see that most of the girls are less interested in cricket or this type of sports. But time changed now womens are also showing interest in games and the situation is slowly improving. In many countries of Asia and Africa it has never been easy to allow women's to play like men's on streets even on grounds because we have not developed mindset which must for this all even in developed world not happening because these things have many negative aspects as well, so mostly women's can do these sports under roof or indoor system which helping them for improving their skills and technique but in this region it has never been easy as many members mention in above posts life is never been easy in this region with religion and area issues hurting badly. Even now developments happening but still very long way to go for having positive results and better things for this all because right now we have best sporting culture in the USA, and they are also not having results like men's sports which is dilemma for them but if we will be able to have few things hopefully these will open the doors like WIPL is also coming in India.

It is actually a little hard to find support for women’s cricket in the Southeast Asia region. Actually, in the whole of Asia, I will say. Especially in those countries where most of the people are Muslim. Muslim countries have a lot of strict rules about women. And Muslim women also like to stay at home and contribute more to the family instead of pursuing their own career.
So, it is not that easy to find women who are genuinely interested in cricket as a profession. Obviously traditional families in this region generally do not let the female child pursue a career in a sport like cricket.
But the popularity of women’s cricket is increasing in this region day by day. Another problem is the women who are actually playing cricket. For these countries, most of them are not taking cricket as a profession. They think of cricket to be their hobby. They should be able to understand the privilege that they are getting and act accordingly.
Here I am agreed with you but still I have to clear few things as you are saying Muslim countries is surely not easy for women's but still many countries specially modest countries are doing good development for the women's sports because they are feeling they can't stop this change, so they have to follow things which are helping for improvement of life and bringing positive changes here in India is also life is never been easy for women's as they are Muslim or non-Muslim but due to propaganda they never expose many issues which never give perfect picture. In last few years we have good changes in India and mostly happening due to social media, but life in Muslim country is never been easy with many things are going against them specially economical many countries are suffering badly and after these restrictions from western countries are also having the biggest impact on them as well. I know that it is not easy for women in general in this region. I just wanted to say that in Muslim countries there are saying women should not play these sports because of religious beliefs. And in other countries, people are saying that women should behave traditionally and not get themselves involved into these sports. No, I respect both ideologies because people can have their opinion and it is absolutely their business how they want to raise their children. And I also support the idea of not giving your children the freedom that they want because at an early age they don’t know any better. But the thing is we have seen a lot of women football players playing with the Hijab on. And football is far more physical compared to cricket. I know it is going to be hard, but what I am trying to say is where there is a will there is a way. I agree with you, there are diffident types of barriers in Muslim society. Where women are most hindered. It is not fair to expect much from women from all those places. But slowly women are also becoming aware. As a result, they have been willing enough to participate in the games in accordance with the religious norms in spite of various obstacles. They can also enter the field after wearing hijab. Which is an expression of their strong interest. However, it is natural that Muslim-dominated countries will lag behind as international competitors especially in cricket. Not only just in Muslim society I think you see this disparity everywhere you go In some places you will see a little less and in some places you will see a little more. But it is true that the progress in the modern countries of the West and Europe is much faster than that of the Asian region. I think it will be better that not bringing religion in this fact. Nothing offensive to religion is being said. It is very clear that the women's game of any region is being hindered to some extent due to religious restrictions. But I think there are several other reasons not just religion, one of them is the underestimation of women's sports. It is natural that women will be left behind in a society where such behavior prevails. Not only in Muslim society it also happens among other religions. We will only be able to see progress in all sports involving women when everyone can come forward regardless of social barriers.

~ I believe the problem with Bangladesh and other Asian countries women cricket team is the lack of support, and unless that changes we won’t really see them improve anytime soon. Furthermore New Zealand women’s cricket team is on the right track, and if they continue to further improve then they can definitely replace Australia who’re currently the number one team in woman’s cricket. It is about finding the right talent and giving more opportunities for the Women's. National Cricket board cannot do everything, it starts with having clubs and then to zonal and then preparing them to play in the big leagues and the opportunity to make huge amount of money is not there either and there are a few clubs that have Woman sporting events like Cricket and hence the selection pool is really small and when that changes we can see the real change . As said, national cricket board can't do everything. But, it needs to take initiative supporting the Women's cricket. This lacks in the Asian countries and the same makes it a tough thing for the right candidate to reach the position. As suggested reaching through the clubs is good, even in that women won't get opportunity easily. This is how the boards were acting. To be frank, in every sports someone expects adjustment when it comes to women. When this changes, everything changes. Nothing offensive, just the reality with everything sporting. In the Asian Countries cricket board mostly invest on the men cricket team. They don't look at the women cricket team much. They practice with some equipments. Therefore the mostly Asian Women cricket teams don't practice much as compare to others. Cricket board give them opportunity to play with low budget. I think this may effect on the performance. I personally believe that once the WIPL begins woman’s cricket will forever change, because suddenly the boards will realise how many advertisers are willing to pay for woman’s cricket and that’ll encourage many Asian countries to invest more for woman’s cricket development. However I don’t expect major progress in 2023, but I strongly feel that by 2025 we will see major changes in woman’s cricket and finally I hope that they get the respect and recognition that their male counterparts usually get.

Indian cricket team is doing really well in recent series agaisnt Australia and interest of public is appreciated as this is the first time people are actually coming to watch women cricket.

They have come a long way through hard work and if compared to the world they have to talk too.

I am excited about Women's IPL because it will not only boost women's cricket in India but also change women's cricket forever. Among the women's game, WIPL is the next frontier. In March 2023, right after the Women's World Cup Final, the Women's IPL (WIPL) will take place. It's sad to see that women's cricket isn't getting the support, but it's still encouraging to see that India supports the game in all forms today. It's my belief that women's cricket will undergo major changes following this tournament.

And to reach this stage, must produce good cricketers. No doubt about WIPL is going to be one of the best, but surely it's not going to have any impact on other countries like Australia, England and New Zealand because they already have their own leagues and doing good work for the game and improving of quality for the women's and one more thing it's just for t20, and we also need good work from BCCI about ODI event which helps these women's quality and skills in this game, so hopefully they will bring more events which will increase fair contest and interest for the women's of this country. Women's cricket need more exposure instead of respect because now we already have good for women's in all countries and things are going into positive way but now more exposure and money will increase better things which will help in many other countries as well in this game of cricket.

Social media is surely bringing good changes in many countries and societies even we have too many hurdles, but things are changing like modest countries like Iran are encouraging their women's for soccer game and same happening in many other countries with different games but no doubt in this all India is far ahead because now peoples are here doing positive things for the developments of women's activities and many games are also having good athletes which are bringing medals in Asian and Olympic Games which is amazing stuff. But, now it's time for bringing things at school level because this will be revolutionary change and competition and quality will be at his highest level which is amazing stuff for them but this all needs powerful management and good finances as well hopefully they will understand and bring changes.

A few days ago, there was no discussion about women's cricket. But now every country's cricket body is looking at them seriously. They believe that women's cricket will have great potential in the future. Cricket boards usually want to know how they can increase the earnings. That's why women's cricket is so important at the moment. If the market for women's cricket can be created like the men's, the cricket board will be able to make huge profit. And to reach this stage, must produce good cricketers. Board should encourage them by created good platform for them just like how India has made a brilliant effort to introduce women cricketers through the WIPL.

Thays true this is a huge development for cricket boards and a huge step by them to improve women cricket teams and make them play in international tournaments and arrange leagues for them like men. This is 21st century and here men and women are equally progressing in all walks of life, than why women are not seen often in cricket grounds.

Women are never going to watch or have an interest in cricket as much as men. Because men are very passionate. Whenever the team that they are supporting wins or loses they become very emotional. But women hardly understand the game. So, I don’t think it is practical to expect that type of support from women. Yes, the situation is changing rapidly and probably in 10 years. Women will also be interested in cricket as much as men. But that is not the case right now.

I think women’s IPL is going to be a success. But other than that I don’t have much hope for women’s cricket in this subcontinent area. The only reason why women’s IPL will probably be a success is that India is actually serious about women’s IPL right now. And India is also quite serious about women’s cricket as well. And it is sure that women’s cricket is not going to get any popularity in that one-day format. T-20 is the format in which women’s cricket will succeed. I hope the women’s World Cup will make the teams interested to play better because that is also going to help to increase the popularity of women’s IPL.

I am not agreed with you this statement because few years back like 10 to 15 years back there were no women around me who talk about cricket or any game, but now I have more than one dozen which are freely talked even have many updates and other data about few leagues and matches which is surely shocking for me because I was never been involved in this game like this, but now things are completely change even many girls are having good knowledge and want to play but due to poor infrastructure and not good support these are currently not able to play as they wanted, but surely this will bring change, and we will have more awareness about the game and things related to sports which will increase better and strong base of our society.

The success of the tournament depends whether the fans will turn up for the matches to watch them play like the men's IPL and if that happens then it would be a great success and probably get more fans for the sport. But generally speaking, i really doubt it would create any ripples. How many here watch Women's sports anyway . The only time i watch is when i am planning to place a live bet on the match.

I have no doubt that the WIPL will be an astounding success. Women's cricket has grown by leaps and bounds over the last few years. Players such as Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Devika Vaidya, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh are some of the most popular sportswomen in India at this point. I am sure that the franchise auction prices and media rights deals are going to surprise everyone. And I expect some of the big corporates to jump in to the fray, in order to secure franchise ownerships.

Did anyone found out what decision were made regarding split coaching and split captaincy at BCCI Apex Council Meeting which was held yesterday. I found out that all decisions have been put on hold untill the new selection committee takes in charge from this news website. Do not know the credibility of the website hence not believing on the information provided by them.

Jofra Archer's absence was felt by the England team during the last few months. They really struggled to bowl out their opponents, especially in the test matches. James Anderson and Stuart Broad had to take a disproportionate amount of the workload, as the younger bowlers were very inconsistent. Now Archer has been added to the ODI squad and that is good news for England. I hope that he will be added to the test squad soon, as the Ashes series is about to start by mid next year. And this time Ashes will be hosted by England.
