How big is the cricket market in Nepal, is it a profitable business at a local level?

The market in Nepal is not that small. For some years now, they have their own franchise T20 league (Everest Premier League), in which players from countries such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, England and West Indies take part. Notable participants include Shahid Afridi, Oshada Fernando, Richard Levi, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ryan Burl. It is a cricket crazy nation (cricket is now the no.1 sport) and the market is rapidly growing.

If I'm being realistic then IMO the big reason associates are in a poor state is because they want Test cricket status (mostly because of ICC fantasy). It's not feasible as it's a loss-making business even for existing members so i'd prefer if associates focus on LOIs only in the longer run.

The reason is that ICC funding depends on test status. Ireland was receiving just around $1 million per year when they were associates. That amount went up by 10x, once they received the test status. Nepal receives only around $200,000 per years form ICC (a reduction of 80% or so from 2007-15 levels), because their rank went own recently due to defeats in ACC tournaments to GCC teams.

I guess the peak time for Nepal was 2014 WC, right?

I know the situation is not favorable but i really wish them well. Actually all associates, especially developing countries.

Yeah, that's why I said it's basically ICC's fantasy and associate nations have no choice but to spend their limited resources on 4 days format domestically. It's doing more harm imo.

Although the target is small but Nepal is not very skilled at playing cricket, which is why everyone expects today's match to win the United Arab Emirates. But at the end it would not be happen. This is just a bilateral tour and not a part of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2. Therefore a win in this series won't do any good for Nepal. And they are currently at the 6th position (only Papua New Guinea is behind them in the points table) in WCL2. For any increase in funding, either they need to qualify for the Asia Cup, or they need to finish within top-3 in WCL2. At this point, both the scenarios look impossible. And their next WLC2 tri-series is against two very strong sides - Namibia and Scotland.

The ICC Cricket World Cup is going to be held in India in 2023. This will be the 13th edition of the Cricket World Cup. And various series will be made according to this World Cup. It is scheduled to be hosted by India during October and November 2023. As far i know that this is the first time where the entire game will be played in India.

Although Nepal looked like they were going to dominate today's match, their last order and middle order batting was outstanding today and they managed to win the match.  Also their bowling has improved a lot.  And through today's match they proved that future matches are going to be unpredictable.

Yes ‍agree, not just today's match but the entire series was supposed to be dominated by UAE. Because comparatively they have been playing cricket much earlier than Nepal. But the way Nepal played today let everyone know that they are going to do something. Their bowling line-up deserves a lot of praise. I actually don't understand what team you are talking about that didn't score 200 runs.  How can they go above 200 runs as Nepal bowled in the beginning today. You can say UAE has the lack of batting performance cause their batsmen could not perform well. On the other hand, Nepal's batsmen today coincidentally played from the middle order to the last order to win which is a good example in the game of cricket.
