Ugh. Dumpage. Monero gittin' rickety-rickety-REKT out there today on thin volume, and right as I decide to buy too. Eventually this crypto-winter will be over, and perhaps the Bitcoin bull rally is the first signs of spring. Also, it seems the 0.9 release is soontm and from my limited understanding it would seem that a 1.0 release would follow relatively quickly after the 0.9 one.

I've always believed that "more inflation now <=> less inflation later".
Yes, it is correct. What the community refused to believe a year ago, and seemingly still do, is that both are harmful. I think this is incorrect, as much as you can summarize the thoughts of an informal entity such as "the community". The community did acknowledge the possible harmfulness, it didn't refuse to believe it as you say. Changing the emission curve was simply deemed to be even more harmful.

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's. This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

It doesn't matter how hard the reality is now it means there is no real demand for Monero and lower emission would not solve this problem we would be fooling ourselves. Also I'm not concerned about concentration, I got my stash

It does. Should I sell my XMR to prove to you that I don't like the concentration that is happening? (I also don't like that nobody even recognizes this is the problem. As with price, today it is 0.3734 EUR/XMR, twelve days ago it was 0.3735. That one is holding steady.)

This was my big yearly bonus check. I have a pretty good job, but it's not that good. It was tempting to use it to buy some toys, pay down some debt, take a vacation to Vegas, or any number of things.... or perhaps even just hold onto Bitcoin and see what happens. but nah. I figure, I've talked more shit about Monero (in a good way) than pretty much anyone. I had better put my money where my mouth is.

If you remember the early days, those with excessive amounts of BTC were incentivizing others in BTC. 1000 BTC for this project, 1000 BTC for that. As long as you could prove you had a legitimate way to advance the currency, there were rounds of investment capital being paid into the ecosystem in the currency. This has a two-fold effect: it propagates the currency while also giving people a way and incentive to build it up. Consider making some XMR investments into projects. Remember: BUIDL, not HODL.

I'm working towards a promotion that will probably happen sometime in 2017, so I'm hoping that it will be enough time for monero to stay atleast under the $2 mark before I can really start throwing around some money... but for some reason, I don't see this happening. *sigh* oh well..

Early on, Roger Ver was an prolific Angel investor: BitPay, Blockchain.info, Kraken, Safello, Purse.io, ShapesShift.io, Coinsetter, the Bitcoin Store, BitInstant, and dozens of other companies all received money from Ver. I hope I am in the position to be an angel investor one day.

Twelve days ago the weighted 24 hours average was 0.3596 EUR.

Extreme concentration should typically produce a highly defective market cap, because those with the oversized concentration can set whatever price they want (Exhibit A. BCN). We aren't seeing that happen in XMR as far as I can tell, unless the oversized portion is ensuring a defective market cap on the downside, which seems counterproductive to wealth preservation. Or maybe they hold it low so more new people can buy thus lessening the concentration, except new people often don't want to get involved in a declining market. Or maybe none of the above.

Yup, except if I use any capital gains to support transhumanism, it might one day be a YOL F bet. Also, I filed this today over on the Monero subreddit.
