1301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: June 26, 2023, 01:51:15 PM
Finally, the dream fight of pussymall Charlo comes into reality. Bad timing though as Canelo caught him inactive. But this fight is the main reason why Mall is either cherry-picking or just staying inactive to preserve his 0 which is as always attractive to Canelo.

It's crazy how Moneyricio Sulaiman is not stripping the WBC belt but most likely that his organization is being paid by PBC to treat them beyond its rules.

Anyways, I would love to see Cownelo butchering Charlo into oblivion. But maybe Canelo is not the same anymore so I just voted for him to win by decision. Rumors by the way that Canelo signed a 3-fight deal with PBC are circulating. So most likely 2 more fights in 2024's Cinco De Mayo weekend and Mexico's independence day weekend in September. So this deal is probably the reason why Benavidez opted not to face the undefeated Cuban David Morrell as it might be too risky.
1302  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there real sports bet groups on: June 26, 2023, 01:18:12 PM
The only legit groups that I have seen are betting groups that are only sharing their own picks and bets. Nothing more, nothing less. Those so-called betting experts that are selling their picks are fakes and are only for the money. No difference between so-called trading experts that are busy convincing in selling their services rather than spending their time analyzing the market and trading.

I noticed a few people that keep hitting their picks but they are not asking for fees and there are also days that they are losing. So there's no way I am paying for someone's betting calls.
1303  Economy / Economics / Re: Could there be a new financial system not dependent on USD? on: June 26, 2023, 12:58:34 PM
It is possible of course as long as many nations will agree together not to use it. OP is talking about the Chinese-made BRICS which makes its members trade to pay the Chinese Yuan. So from USD to CNY? What's the difference then? Aside from direct benefits for countries using USD or CNY, generally speaking, there is nothing new since it is just like transferring from one to another currency. And Communist China is nothing special either to those that hate the US and its exploitations.

I would like to see countries using their own currencies when buying and selling. Or at least free to use their own currencies when trading.
1304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin become The General Currency in the Future? on: June 26, 2023, 12:37:20 PM
Most of us here would love to see bitcoin as the top-used currency in the future. But it is too difficult to predict the future especially when it is decentralized and is against what governments want which is to take control within its borders and citizens. I am optimistic though that bitcoin will become a global currency but not sure if it will become the general currency which is actually unlikely.

Bitcoin becoming a common currency worldwide is possible in the next decade but bitcoin becoming the general currency worldwide which is far from reality might become possible in many decades to come.
1305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are the Predictions of Bitcoin Halving accurate? on: June 26, 2023, 12:14:53 PM
That is why it is called prediction because there is no guarantee. But who cares much about the exact date and hour of the halving? It is only for the record and historical milestones.

Financially, it is all about positioning which happens earlier than the exact halving date. Big whales and institutions are not dumb and are smart enough to position themselves as early as last year. Many investors continue with their regular DCA while the price of bitcoin is still cheap at $30k. Personally, I might continue my DCA until bitcoin surpasses $40k to $50k.
1306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 26, 2023, 11:28:25 AM
If we look solely at the stats, we might criticize or think that he is overvalued. However, man, the Warriors definitely know what they are doing, and even if you ask an expert, they'll say that Green is truly one of the major reasons the Warriors achieved their previous championships. I would say that Green is the obvious leader of the team. Without him, this Warriors team might struggle and wouldn't be as fun to watch anymore.

I disagree. He may have affected the performance of the Warriors but I still see Steph Curry as their leader. It's just that, he doesn't talk much but his presence can obviously be seen.
Plus, it ain't Draymond Green that made the Warriors fun to watch, it was Steph Curry back when he was with other players, without Draymond. Remember, he was just fished from the bench but it was Curry's arrival that made the Warriors alive again. Since Don Nelson. Back at the time when they lack players, mostly injured.

$100m for 3 years is such a huge contract. I don't know if it's worth it or not but it will affect their salary cap and I think this is also being selfish just because they already achieved their goal of a championship. Some players like James Harden would give way with their contracts being cut just to attain a championship ring, but here it's not becoming teamwork anymore. If it happens, I really doubt the Warriors will be champions again. A congested salary cap means fewer good roleplayers. If Steph or Klay gets injured again, they will be in the worst position.
Let's not forget, they also have Wiggins with a big contract.

At first, I am doubtful of Green's chances of getting a $100 million contract but when GSW decided to let go of Jordan Poole, it probably means the management is negotiating in order to keep him. The contract will hurt a lot though, I don't even think they will reach the conference finals. It's like a selfish move by Green knowing some more proven stars like Harden, Nowitzki, and many more made sacrifices to keep the team competitive.

There are teams that are showing interest in Green and they add more pressure on GSW to meet the demands of Green. So aside from the rumors of a 3-year $100 million deal, there is really a chance that Green will indeed get his original demand of a max contract.
1307  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Americans will burn in hell for eternity on: June 25, 2023, 09:42:24 PM
Hell? But dinosaurs are already proven to have existed millions of years ago right?  Cheesy

I wonder who butchered more in terms of population percentage. Maybe the Mongols? But of course, it's nothing compared to the casualties and victims of the plethora of religious wars throughout history.
1308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Still Gamble? on: June 25, 2023, 09:23:12 PM
Why do people still gamble OP? Because it's just another way of entertaining yourself? Just like we are paying for our characters and skins in our online games, buying tickets regularly to watch movies, and many more.

If your perception of gambling is harmful, why you are applying many times for a chance to join a signature campaign wearing a betting company? Everything excessive mostly turns into bad. Even in sports, you cannot overtrain or it affects your conditioning.

I believe gambling addiction is more to the lack of financial education on people. I know a lot of professionals outside of any financial degree that are struggling with their own financial management (not specifically about gambling addiction). If only people are educated on the basics of financial management or companies regularly conducted it for their employees then there will be lesser people that are immature in handling their own financial situations.
1309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: June 25, 2023, 09:02:20 PM
That fight would be freaky if this continues but Dana White has said both are dead serious about the proposal to see each other inside the cage, for Mark Zuckerberg this could be a dream coming true in entering the cage of the UFC
This is idea so stupid that I have no words to say   Tongue
I would rather watch street fight between amateurs than this fake fight between Zuckerberg and Elon Musk.
Both guys are could only perform in some circus show with their skills.

Dana White continues to hype it of course in order to promote his company and of course, earn money if by surprise the match becomes a reality. Elon Musk though can be a troll on the internet. Hell, he can go on and say he will buy the UFC. Zuck though is probably serious about it. Maybe this is nothing or funny to the hardcore fight fans but the casuals will of course pay for these 2 billionaires to fight even if they look worse than amateur fighters. Just like fans are watching Shake Paul and other celebrities. The media will also hype this in order to create buzz. Television networks are also willing to buy this event because there are more curious casuals than the usual hardcore fight fans.
1310  Economy / Economics / Re: Rent or buy real estate - let's have a debate on: June 25, 2023, 08:40:38 PM
Everyone wants to own their own real estate property. That's why most of them are unable to get it because of financial problems, and the others don't make a way to have it. Others to have their own property are going through 30 years to pay to have their own house and land. And the only ones qualified for this 30 years to pay are those who are regular employees or have their own businesses.

It's just because most of them are poor that's why they end up renting and making a strategy to earn money to cover their daily expenses.

In school, thru our accounting, financial, and business subjects, we are taught that real estate is an asset which means it is beneficial because obviously, its value appreciates over the years.

In reality, though, not all of us can afford real properties. Or some can afford it but not to the same place they are working. But for people with limited resources, it's not like it is urgent. Instead of saving money to buy real estate, we can use that money to start a business. And once the business is earning regularly, we can apply for a housing loan.
1311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We are about to enter altcoin season, what do you think? on: June 25, 2023, 08:20:15 PM
I think need wait for altcoin session because still now bitcoin little pumping and when bitcoin again stable around 31k price range than better to buy altcoin nad need to hold tightly for big profit.

Right, altcoins move up after bitcoin stabilizes a bit. Altcoins the last few days are moving up but I won't consider it a sign of an altcoins season. Most altcoins are not even back to their usual prices a few weeks ago when the US SEC flexed its muscles again.

It is safer to consider this altcoins season next year which is the halving year of bitcoin. This year, altcoins can move up or down and it will be sensitive to big news especially when it comes to regulations. So let's just ride the swings or continue with DCA while we are nearly a year from the halving.
1312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 25, 2023, 07:59:26 PM
There is no way Klay would get traded, he is still a great defender even after the injury, I assumed that he would not be a great defender after the injury because usually the lateral movement gets limited after such injury but he is great and he can still shoot amazingly well. He played with 41% from three with 21 points which is definitely a good sign for him.

However, Draymond green is not "that" guy anymore, he is still good and all in a sense, but he is a 30% three point shooter, not terrible but not good enough, just 0.5 threes per game, 7 rebounds 7 assists 8 points type of guy. Yes, he is a floor general and knows their game, but he is not a max contract guy, that's way too much. Warriors do not print money, they are not the FED, they can't do that.

It is unlikely that Klay will be traded. Some years ago before the Warriors transferred to their new homecourt, the management made it clear that the Splash brothers will be with them for the rest of their careers. I cannot confirm if this was executed successfully but Steph was supposed to get a stake in GSW ownership along with Klay. Although it is still possible for Klay to be transferred but it also involves selling his stocks to avoid a conflict of interest.

Draymond has declined a lot. But somehow GSW still finds him useful over Poole, probably for the chemistry of the team? Draymond's demands a laughable but it's a bluff and he is just trying to squeeze money as much as possible. The Warriors however cannot stay too comfortable with re-signing Green because some teams are interested to sign him with a better contract than his previous one.
1313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 25, 2023, 07:27:59 PM
Not sure if we have discussed Jerwin Ancajas comeback fight this weekend as he will move up to 118 lbs and will fight a tune up fight against Wilner Soto in his new division.

Ancajas has been a great champion at 115 lbs defending his belt 9 times until he met  Fernando “Pumita” Martinez in which he lost 2x. So it's obvious that his body can't take 115 lbs and so they decided to go up now at bantamweight division.

https://www.ringtv.com/654814-title-shot-awaits-jerwin-ancajas-if-he-gets-past-wilner-soto/

Soto is 13:1 underdog here.

I am more interested in the main event where Fernando Martinez will once again defend his belt against another Ph contender Jade Bornea. The champion though remains the favorite.

Hopefully, Ancajas can show some signs that he is still an elite fighter. The division is starting once again after Inoue's ascension to 122. Ancajas was a long-time champion but I felt like he could've done more by unifying his belt or facing the other top fighters of the division. He was a champion and the division was rich with stars like Roman Gonzales and Juan Estrada.

We all hope that Ancajas will perform well in his new weight division but I am somehow hesitant to believe that he will do better in this new division.  With his last two match they keep on blaming the weight but I do not think it is the reason why Ancajas losses.  He is simply outmatched by Martinez.  Honestly I also thought that the weight is the reason why Ancajas lost to Martinez but the rematch proves that it is not the case.

He won already, he knockout Soto, he drop him twice and then referee stop the contest in the 5th round. It's obvious that this is a tune up fight for Jerwin to somewhat bring back his confidence again after a back to back loses to Fernando Martinez.

So all is not lost to the Filipino former champion, I think he is still in his prime at 31 years old. And probably fighting at 115 lbs and defending it nine times might have a affect on his body as it can no longer commit to that weight. So good move by him to go up in weight class and then fight a journey man to somewhat have his belief that he can still pull the trigger and fight and knockout anyone.

At least it's 1-1 in that fight, Ancajas won but Bornea lost against Martinez. So definitely Ancajas could be be back in the limelight in this win. His opponent is not that great though, but it's enough for Jewin to be in the win column and maybe MP could set him up for another rank fighter so that he will slowly go up in the rankings again. And if he is lucky enough, he could be given another chance to fight for the belt. I think he can also go as high as 122 lbs if his frame is too big for the bantamweight of 118 lbs although this division is crowded with Filipinos trying to become a world champion.

I wonder if Bornea has a conditioning coach. He's got the skills but lacks the stamina and grit for a whole 12-round championship fight. Sanman needs a conditioning coach for its fighters and hires reliable ones when it comes to world title shots or when its fighters are battling against world-ranked opponents.

For me, it's more like 1-10. Cheesy Because Ancajas was only fighting for a tune-up compared to the real-world title fight. Hopefully, Ancajas won't become inactive and fights again in 3 to 5 months so he can get a title fight as early as next year. I do want to see him train with another coach. Jimenez has nothing new for him except when they are trying to become a brawler which didn't worked well.
1314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How quick do altcoins pump in bull run? on: June 24, 2023, 08:04:56 PM
Predicting how quickly altcoins will increase in price during a bull run period is very difficult because it is heavily influenced by many factors, including market sentiment, general adoption of cryptocurrencies, and specific factors associated with each individual altcoin.

Altcoins will be very difficult to read especially to traders and much more on margin traders. But for investors, I guess it's not that hard, especially for the top altcoins. Those who bought altcoins last year and this year will surely benefit from the incoming bull run in 2024 and 2025. I doubt there are bettors here that the whole crypto market won't be bullish in those years. It's been shown since the first halving of bitcoin and it will be the same next year.

DCA is the best technique I have seen so far because there will be huge swings before the big bull run starts.
1315  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Investors Confidence in Bitcoin💪 on: June 24, 2023, 07:33:17 PM
In fact, Bitcoin is such that anyone who gets to know it in detail will become addicted to it. And the reason why Bitcoiners have so much confidence in Bitcoin is because of its previous history. If you look at each of the past halvings of Bitcoin, its price has risen steadily after this or halving. I've shared a chart below from a Coin Telegraph report so you can see what's going to happen in 2024. And like everyone else, I hope that in 2024, Bitcoin will break its record like it did in the previous years.

It is almost certain that there will be another breaking of records in the halving year. The current price alone is already more than 300% of its previous halving price. But $30k is still a cheap price since everybody knows that the following year of the halving always establishes another highest price. Previous ATH is $67k which is an easy 200%+ from today's price. But I always wonder how high bitcoin's ATH will be in 2025. It will be in the trillion market cap once again. I am seeing a $100k to $200k range for its new ATH.
1316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 24, 2023, 02:50:11 PM
I prefer Poole over Green since the former is still young and can improve while the latter has already seen its glory days. But it is very hard to say something negative about the management of GSW since they're a proven successful team. They saw something in CP3 that makes their team stronger, something that only a few fans can understand. And even with their decision to let go of Poole, Green already made his decision to end his contract. I felt like Green is just bluffing about wanting to make bigger money and he will settle and re-sign with GSW with lesser money than his ridiculous demands.

Poole can stay with the Wizards and maybe he becomes the main man in that team. But there is always the chance to buy out if he wants to be in a team capable of competing against the other top teams.
Well you have a point in that, but what did Poole contributed with the Warriors? Compare it to what Green has contributed in his whole NBA career. Yes Poole is young, but if I'm the GM, I'd rather keep Green as well because of how he impacts his teammates, and the whole team.

Like you said, Poole can just stay with the Wizards, and be the main player of the team. He didn't experience that in the Warriors since he's always been a bench. Now he can prove himself next season if he can be a reliable guard on a rebuilding team.

Well, it's just me and I will never question the proven management of GSW. Poole failed to perform to the expectations, especially during the playoffs but so did Green compared to his previous year's output. There's also Green's decision earlier to end his contract which means that GSW is not even guaranteed to re-sign him. And if Green re-signs it also means a higher salary like a minimum of $30 million per year? I just don't think Green is worth that money anymore. GSW though made the right decision to ditch Poole if he fails to perform in a weak team because he has a huge contract fit for a star player.
1317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 24, 2023, 12:54:10 PM
Well, Eddie Hearn is a huge boxing fan himself and is probably the biggest promoter right now and is a master in the business with superstars Canelo, AJ, and fighters from other promoters that fight in DAZN except GBP which has its own exclusive contract with the network. His 500k-600k is a good estimate and is already a big success given these economic hard times.

This fight though has real potential of breaking a million PPV buys. I also believe that tickets will be sold out quickly. So far PBC has named Pitbull Cruz battling against Giovanni Cabrera in the undercards probably to get the huge Latino boxing community.

In terms of the live gate's tickets, there is no question at all that it will be sold out quickly just like what Garcia vs Davis fight did or pretty much faster than that because we have to include the fact that there will be some businessmen who are having some business in gaining these tickets as fast as possible so that they can sell it in a much higher price. But when it comes to PPV buys, I doubt that they can break a million of it because the world is getting modern each day and big fights like this are almost shown for free in some sources like Facebook live or even YouTube because they are seeking the viewers as well in-exchange for some voluntary amounts to watch the fight live.

As far as Eddie Hearn, he says that PBC, Top Rank and Golden Boy doesn't want him promoting in the US.

As for the PPV buys, I do agree, I don't see the fight getting or breaking the 1 million PPV buys, not a hater but they will be lucky to get 500,000 PPV. Still the king of PPV for this year is Ryan Garcia vs Tank Davis.

Live gates must be different though, it could be sold out by now and only premium tickets might be available.

Were we expecting the Garcia vs. Davis fight to reach at least 1 million PPV buys? I believe the expectation was around 500k, give or take. Therefore, I think the Spence and Crawford fight is somewhat undervalued. It's possible that we might be surprised if they surpass the 1.2 million PPV buys of the Garcia vs. Davis fight.

It's good if Crawford-Spence PPV reaches or breaks 1.2 buys because it actually deserves knowing this is for the undisputed title and between 2 undefeated fighters. Davis and Garcia were not world champions but they are popular. Garcia is unproven but he is a celebrity outside of boxing with millions of followers. Tank Davis is gifted with explosive hands and is carefully matched by Mayweather, PBC, and Showtime against nobodies, has-beens, and other exploitation techniques. PBC has a huge following of African-Americans and many of them are casuals that would enjoy a Tank KO win against a bum than Spence winning a hard decision or a hard fight against another top-caliber opponent like Ugas.

So without serious trash-talking and bad blood, this fight might not reach a million buys.
1318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 24, 2023, 12:30:29 PM
I cannot remember the exact WBC rankings but I believe Santiago is ranked high since he got the chance to fight for the vacant belt? As far as I remember, #1 Moloney went the WBO route, #2 is Donaire, and #3 had a fight schedule last February which made him not available since the mandatory was issued that same month. I think it was Gaballo at #4 or #5. Santiago should be right there.

If I remember it right, and I believe I also posted it here, when this fight was approved last February or March (?), Santiago was currently ranked #6 (118 lbs) by the WBC and given the opportunity to be a contender for the vacant WBC Bantamweight title because ranked boxers above him do now have their respective tasks and scheduled fight.

But referring to the current WBC Rankings (which was updated last June 16), I can't find Santiago's name anymore, even at those other 2 major sanctioning organizations (WBO and WBA). Though he was currently on the IBF rankings, but almost at the bottom ranking.

Shouldn't a boxer get beaten in order for other boxer take his ranking?  Or is the ranking is based on point system?  If so then it is possible that those who outranked him had their fight and did a good win raking points surpassing on what Santiago has the reason why he was taken out of the ranking.  But still, I am confused about the fact that you stated being thrown out of top 10 ranking without being beaten by people below his rank.

Quote
I don't know what happened to Santiago's ranking status. Moving forward, an opportunity for a title match should be a big break in his career.

This is indeed an opportunity for Alejandro Santiago, to beat Donaire will put him on the map and even the possibility of being a hall famer.

As per the latest ranking by the WBC, Alejandro Santiago is ranked #4 mate. Maybe you mislook it or you did not recognize his other name. It's crazy and I do not agree with it but yeah, boxers can actually use another name or whatever their sponsors and handlers like them called which is also common in Thailand.

Regarding the ranking system, the 4 major sanctioning bodies, The Ring and TBRB have their own ways. So it is not an assurance to move up in ranks even if you beat the fighter above you. Most of them have their own ranking panels to decide their ranks. So the ranking will be discussed and is also open to corruption which is very common in the WBA and WBC as they can favor popular prospects or big names in order to get bigger sanctioning fees that are percentage based. I heard about the IBF having a points system although I believe they also have their own ranking panel for the finals results. Panels are open to corruption but more reliable since point systems like what Boxrec tried to do before made their rankings laughable and stupid.

1319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 24, 2023, 11:39:47 AM
The Phoenix Suns upgraded its roster with a deadly 4 All-Star combo. A big surprising move by GSW after letting go of Poole and picking another PG in CP3. So it seems like the team will re-sign Green now. I would've preferred Poole rather than Green who's already showing big signs of aging yet continued to demand bigger contracts.

I guess the Warriors management really did a lot of thinking, it's Green vs Poole. And so they decided to give the young fellow a boot and retain Green as he is one of the core players for the Warriors. If only Jordan Poole perform better in the playoffs, it might be a very difficult job for the management to decided which one to go. Unfortunately, his best performance with the Warriors is when they have that championship run. At least he had a ring already.

I prefer Poole over Green since the former is still young and can improve while the latter has already seen its glory days. But it is very hard to say something negative about the management of GSW since they're a proven successful team. They saw something in CP3 that makes their team stronger, something that only a few fans can understand. There are random days when I also buy lottery tickets for that dream. But ever since I shifted most of my betting to crypto gambling, I started to realize the near-to-zero chances of winning a lottery.

In my country though there were already rumors since I was a kid about how rigged our local lottery. But there are huge speculations when last year a $4 million draw was won by over 400 tickets which is just so unbelievable. Now I am more convinced that it is rigged and the near-zero chances of winning could've turned to zero due to our greedy and corrupt officials. So I might not buy a lottery ticket ever again.
