1341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 13, 2023, 01:42:59 AM
Where are the Patrick Beverley fans at? There's bad news about him as he's been waived by the Orlando Magic.

Actually, that's not bad news since that was already expected, therefore he's expected it too.

There are teams already that show interest in doing a buyout to acquire him.

As far as rumors are concerned, some teams that might be involved are Mavericks or going back to Clippers, or Timberwolves.
Anybody who can remember this picture? An iconic picture when he was still in the Timberwolves isn't it? Cheesy

Anyway, not surprised to see Beverley being waived out by the Magic because I don't see him fitting on that young and talented team. Now with regards to the 3 teams that you shared, I think the Mavericks needed him the most. The Mavs are in need of some defensive minded players and Beverley will be a good addition to the team as he is good in defense. Mavericks must get him somehow in the buyout.

I feel bad for Westbrook and Wall who has significant career and had a big help in their respective teams, but now they are in the buyout market. I mean if you are that helpful with the team, they will not put you in the buyout market. I hope that these 2 players will find a new team this season especially Westbrook who showed a huge adjustment this season and even played off the bench. He might've played awful in the last seasons, but in this season, he is better already.

Ah, WB and John Wall, specially WB, now he has become a trading bait. After his OKC stint, he didn't even last for more than 2 years for any team. So everyone feels  bad for him at this point of his career.

Not just that, but as a Laker, Pat Bev has also some iconic moments too.

And also the shoving incident with Ayton when he tries to protect Austin Reaves.
1342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] FigFueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 13, 2023, 12:39:23 AM
And Foster winning against Vargas, the Featherweight division might go back with him as the WBC champion. So this fight is very important for this two, because sooner or later the winner might be Vargas next target once he moved down.
It was upset, Vargas doesn't look like a champ here. Foster knew what to do in the ring, he was in control of the fight until the very end, and this guy is so lucky to have won his first championship fight. So no more Vargas vs Magsayo, but if Magsayo will fight Foster, he'll be fighting a better fighter.

I don't know if we can call it an upset, although Vargas is the favorite, but it was very close odd if I'm not mistaken. Foster is very confident going into the fight, there is an intense stare down and he always says that he will bring back Vargas to 126 lbs. And that's what he did in this fight, he completely destroys the tall Vargas. Rey can't even take advantage of his height and reach because Foster is so good at shifting and it makes it difficult to Vargas to him hit cleanly. Now, losing make things complicated for Magsayo vs Figueroa. As the winner will have a chance to have a crack against Vargas as he will be moving down in weight. Will it be Magsayo vs Vargas rematch? or will it be Figueroa vs Vargas brawl?
1343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 13, 2023, 12:22:06 AM
I think it's better if he would face another nationality, again as I have said, Thailand's  Nawaphon Sor. Rungvisai  or PR's pride Emmanuel Rodriguez (who beat Jason Moloney).

I also don't want two Filipino to be in the same ring, as much as possible I also like to see other nationality to face Nonito Donaire, it give more excitement than seeing both Filipino fight, sure the title will be in a Filipinos hand who ever own the fight but it is sad to think that a fellow Filipino's record will be tarnished by another Filipino.

I want Donaire to test himself against Nawaphon Sor. Rungvisai, I think it will be a good match, Rungvisai is very aggressive and it will fit on Donaire's style. Nonito is known to have his left hook, very patented of him. But he usually used it to fighters who want's to walk him down and think that they can easily out power him.

So if Rungvisai make a lot of mistakes trying to get inside of Donaire, they for sure he will taste some of those left hook and then combo in the body. So I wouldn't be surprised if Donaire wins another knockout victory in his next fight if either Rodriguez or Rungvisai will be his opponent for the belt.

I agree with your statement. I also want to see a match between Runvisai vs Donaire though I doubt that it will happen anytime soon. If there is one thing that is a fact on this match, it is that Donaire is slowly becoming older as the years pass by. He was nicknamed the "Filipino Flash" for his speed and accuracy, though he is slowly deteriorating as the years pass by.

If the match between Rungvisai and Donaire happen in the future, this is something that I would definitely watch and gamble my money for. This is the entertainment that most would probably love due to both their aggressiveness and style on the court.

Time is running fast for Donaire, but we will have to wait when is this title eliminator between Gaballo vs Runvisai, it just says the fight will be held in US soil, but no definite date as of yet.

And after this, it might take another 3-4 months for Donaire to wait before the winner is again can fight.

So most probably at the end of the year or early next year, but it's going to be a long layoff for him.
1344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: February 12, 2023, 07:10:51 AM
There are some rumors circulating that it is possible that the fight deal won't realized because Haney had found way to evade Lomachenko by asking higher percentage income on the fight.  If we can recall Haney had demanded some advantage on the split and Lomachenko camp agreed.  Now Haney is asking for another raise of percentage and the camp of Lomachenko hasn't replied yet.
I don’t think Haney is ready to beat Lomachenko because it’s obvious with all these issues, Haney seems trying to evade from this fight not to happen. But that is not the case with Lomachenko as he is even more motivated to win and definitely want to beat Haney since it would put him back as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. This is another one big fight for the battle for lightweight glory so this should not be canceled or postponed either way.

This just shows that people are indeed divided in this fight because there also fans out there who believed that Haney could defeat the former champion, and some are also favoring Lomachenko as they also believed that he can still be a champion once again. But there's this fact that it's hard to deny and that was Loma's recent fight with Barrios, I mean, I know he's still good but he is not that agile anymore unlike in the old days where he is like gliding in the ring blinding his foes in corners. Still, it's a must prove to Loma if he still has that skills and show that world that he was just adjusting on his recent fight.

Its' really hard to imagine how the fight will turn out, others says it's 50/50 because of the contrasting style of the two. Just to correct you though, Loma's recent fight is with the young and bigger Ortiz not Barrios.

But in any case, not sure who to bet on this fight, maybe before the actual schedule of the fight I will decided who is to bet.

Right now, when the negotiations is still ongoing as there are news that Haney wanted more money, I don't know who to go to.

Yes, it's indeed 50:50 even for me. Seeing Loma fighting Ortiz recently made me think that this guy is just feeling the ring and adjusting because inactive for quite a long time because of the war. He may surprise us if ever this fight will push through because I really don't believe that Loma will suddenly turn to a decent boxer from being a master of technicalities and a hard one to predict.

But judging the current situation, we can't say yet if this fight is already good to go even if they already figured out the date. Although I seriously do think that Bob Arum will somehow figure out what to do in this kind of situation as of course this is not his first time encountering this kind of scenario.

That's also what I'm thinking, he lost the belt to Lopez because he has a shoulder injury and then when back and beat Nakatani by TKO and then Richard Commey by decision and then the war started and his supposedly fight with Kambosos was postponed.

And so it's a different situation wherein you are coming back from a injury as opposed to being away from boxing because you have to defend your motherland in a war. Poles apart, so the mindset is not the same when he had his comeback against Ortiz.
1345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 12, 2023, 06:53:31 AM
Suns had that one season when they were pretty good, but CP3 has been getting older and Ayton has been quite unhappy at the team, so Booker himself couldn't handle the whole load himself. With Durant on the floor and Booker there as well, just those two would be amazing duo for any team, they will definitely be much better without a doubt. However, CP3 and Ayton are not bad for third and fourth options neither, could be harder for second position but when you add someone as amazing as Durant, then suddenly these two work out very well too. I think they are pretty good and could fight for a title but they still have many teams they have to beat first, but I would say they are the best in west right now, depending on how Durant will do of course.

That was their first year together, they went as high to the finals, but lost to the Bucks. And then we thought that they will make a run again the next season, but with all the Ayton drama, not getting a max rookie contract, they choke in the second round against the Dallas team lead by Luka. Booker's mistake that time is to trash talk him throughout the series, but Luka just destroyed them mentally. So let's see, it seems that they are in a momentum because of their price acquisition, although losing 2 of their core.
1346  Economy / Speculation / Re: does the increasing number of altcoins have a negative impact on the price btc on: February 12, 2023, 06:29:57 AM
Bitcoin price will not drop because of all the altcoins that is in the market. Altcoins are shitcoins with zero percent value in the long run. The bull market of bitcoin brings their value down which make most people see it as valueless. These altcoins are bringing down the trust on bitcoin since a lot of people that don't understand crptocurrency bitcoin, invest in them and do get disappointed.
The impact of altcoins can affect the market price ups and downs even if only for certain news, for example Luna impact and FTT have dropped the market to as low as $15k, the current altcoin project is very bad because there is no guarantee it can be developed long term and many teams end up selling coins to the market before they run away, so I agree that altcoins only worsen investor confidence in crypto.

I think it's a different impact though, for me it has an impact as a whole. I was under the impression of the question

"does the increasing number of altcoins have a negative impact on the price btc"

So I would say no, it has no effect whatsoever, bitcoin is a stand alone crypto, heck it is even called the prime mover on the market. So if there is a impact, it should be the other way around. Every crypto is based on bitcoin, i.e. bitcoin/ X altcoin.

For altcoin is a free for all market, in my opinion and no where as solid as bitcoin and they are riskier as well.
1347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: February 11, 2023, 01:11:53 PM
Is it true that the fight between Spence and Thurman does not take place in the welterweight division? And their match will be deemed mandatory by the WBC? How accurate is that? It is confusing. It is unfair not only to Thurman but also to the other boxers if this were true. Are Errol Spence and the WBC not ashamed of what they have done to boxing fans like us? The rules are simple: defend the belt or remove it so that other boxers can settle for it. These days, boxing is all about money. Only a few boxers want to be matched with the best and leave memorable fights and victories when it is time to hang up their gloves.

Yes, they are going to fight at 154 lbs, not 147 lbs wherein Spence has 3 belts and if you back read, we have discussed it already and worst WBC has set a precedence on this event and for sure in the future we will see this kind of setup that doesn't sounds right.

Boxing is pure business, it's all about the money as you have said.

It's no longer best against the best, most of the time, like the Spence vs Crawford that broke down, we as fans are getting rob by good fights.
This is simply unbelievable. I never heard of this before in boxing. The WBC is accepting this to make matters worse. Why is it that there are no prominent boxing personalities and the media criticizing this blatant activity? Spence is also pleased about this. Errol Spence clearly does not want to be great; rather, he wants to make money and feed his ego. A boxer who wants to be great will undoubtedly defend his titles with pride. Or he could move up, leave his belts open to newcomers, and try to win a second division belt. It is as easy as that. Boxing rules ought not to be difficult.

You are not the one to see this fight as somewhat of a joke and WBC allowing this to happen, bending their own rule so that everyone is going to be happy with the money that they are going to make in this fight.

Well Spence believed that he has cemented his legacy, or at least somewhat may lead him to believed that. Even saying that they don't need to fight Bud Crawford for unification is really absurd.
1348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 11, 2023, 12:44:05 PM
If everything goes smooth with the Mavericks, then I guess he'll be staying longer, but it's just a matter of time, when everything goes wrong he'll most definitely going to do what he usually does, find his way out of the team.

A team has no choice but to trade Irving if he doesn't want to play anymore as he'll act unprofessional by not playing his best or worst is he will not show up anymore. So it's very crucial that the management has to ensure to give Irving his demand and help him build a good working chemistry for him to stay longer after he signs a max deal.
It appears that the majority of basketball fans are unsure whether Kyrie Irving will be with the Mavericks. I admit that Kyrie has had a lot of problems in the past, but he can come back and start over with the Mavericks, which is what he might do. When Luka returns, it will be interesting to see how these two deadly guards perform on both sides of the court. Kyrie has more experience than Luka. But Luka will probably play point guard, and Kyrie will have to make some adjustments. This is a big investment and if it fails, this will be a significant loss for the Mavericks.

If this is just a year of experiment that I wouldn't say it's a big investment, they can trade Kyrie and let Luka be the face of the Dallas Mavericks. That's how it should be and hopefully Kyrie knows that.

Again, we don't need another drama for Kyrie in Dallas, they are in a good position to make the playoffs already. They just need solid contribution from him. And so if the management didn't fine this marriage a good one then they can shift Kyrie next year again.
1349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 10, 2023, 06:16:02 PM
....
And why is it that the Miami Heat aren't making any moves before the deadline? From keeping cap space in order to chase Giannis and then to KD to nothing.
It's not surprising anymore. I don't remember any big trades they have done since JB. There are still rumors about Westbrook contract buyout with the Jazz and one of the teams that's interested to get him is the Heat. He's probably better than Lowry right now so he could find a good place there.

Yeah, there is still chance for Miami to get Russ since they are somewhat interested on him. I think Lowry is way past his prime already, injury prone and no longer the same guard that we have seen him in Raptors uniform.

Bucks too get a good player in Jae Crowder, can play good defense and then score as well.

Lakers upgraded their roster, but might not be enough for this season to carry them to the playoffs.

1351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The biggest casino property... on: February 10, 2023, 12:14:25 PM
  -    This is the las vegas called in Singapore. Here it can be said that if the people who play in the casino here are all riches, their security here in Marina Bay San is too tight.

I just don't know if Marina Bay San also has an online casino that can be downloaded to our mobile device, so anyway, even if we are not in the casino itself, it is online, and we can still enter their platform. The question is there? I don't think so either

I wouldn't call it the Las Vegas though, if my memory serves me right, Marina Bay and then RW Sentosa are the two biggest in that country. If there will be Las Vegas in Asia, it should be Macau.

It also become a tourist attraction for Singapore because of the grandeur of this casinos.

Majority is being owned though by Las Vegas Sands Corporation.
1352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 09, 2023, 06:40:51 PM
I’m reading reports now that the Warriors are or have (depending on the report) traded James Wiseman. I’m surprised by this. I thought he’d give them the athletic center they need, but I guess he didn’t fit into the system. I think if they gave him more minutes he could’ve been a much better player than he is viewed as and probably could have gotten them a better trade package, but it looks like they’ve given up on him. This opens a spot for Kevin Love…

Prior to this trading, I have read that they are contemplating on James Wiseman whether to trade him or not. But I guess the Warriors has made their decision to just let go of the kid. We don't know the reasons, maybe because of necessities or maybe they didn't find Wiseman a good fit for the Warriors at this point. Although there was a lot of hype on him when he joins the Warriors. Let's see if the Warriors are going to replace him with Kevin Love or get another big man to fill the void.
1353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 09, 2023, 06:24:26 PM
At least Canelo is being honest and chill despite his past issues and differences with Ryan. With regards to the venue, a stadium might be cool to cater to more audiences but the organizers might opt for smaller, easier-to-manage, and boxing-proven venues like the MGM. They can easily match the gate revenue by increasing the price of the tickets. There are a lot of rich people regularly traveling to Vegas.

But the main issue right now is who will promote and what network will telecast if a rematch clause is activated. I cannot believe they are confident that this fight is happening yet this one which is very important is not yet agreed upon earlier. PBC showing its toxicity in boxing once again. Al Hymen is greedy once again despite his fighter being clearly the favorite. Obviously, GBP and DAZN should be the ones handling if ever a rematch is happening.

The "rematch clause" is holding this fight back and if they can't agree on it then this fight might not happen at least this April 15. I think there will only be a rematch if Davis is defeated as he is the current champion so it's just fair that Golden Boy Promotion will handle the second if ever that happens so yeah that Al Haymon is killing this fight on paper once again.

Yeah, still hanging on the balance, I thought that they have settled who is going to cover and everything. But this time it's the rematch clause and it shows that Al Haymon doesn't want to give control to GBP in the rematch.

And suddenly, the negotiations turn ugly now, I just do hope that they will keep quiet on it and not let the public knows what's going behind close door. So that they can work it out first instead of going to media which might fuel for either side not to push for it.

This is a big fight, a championship fight, I think it deserves a rematch. On the promoters' end, I believe it's beneficial on them, and for the boxers, they will surely earn a lot of money as long as the first fight entertained the fans. It's not new IMO, why would a boxer does not want a rematch if he believes on himself that he can win again. Well, I'm not talking of the loser though because the losers will automatically want a rematch after the fight, for revenge.

Yes, definitely it deserves a rematch specially if the first fight turns out to be that good that fans wanted more. But the thing with this promoter right now is that they want to make sure everything is right before they agree on such terms.

And that is the stumbling block again in this fight. It's the question on how is going to control the rematch?

What's funny is, they even have the first fight and now they have issues on the rematch clause?
1354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 09, 2023, 06:09:11 PM
Good thing with Magsayo if he will win his fight against Figueroa and Vargas will step down again and face Magsayo for possible title match, money wise it will give Magsayo decent amount of profits, but first he needs to take care of Figueroa and make sure that he will be ready for Vargas if he decided to go back and negotiate for the possible fight.

Future will be much better for them as they've got that chance to make money with the fans who wanted to see how those fighters will perform.

I love to see that Magsayo will be taking his revenge to a fighter that had beaten him. This fight is his best chance though, he is fighting a good fighter so if he wins this, it only imply that he had learn from his mistakes and have made adjustments to make himself a better fighter.

Vargas vs Magsayo II, that's a good title, and everyone will be interested watching to know if Magsayo will successfully take his revenge, who knows? we might see a trilogy if he wins.
A promising title indeed.
Magsayo had that belt in the first place, he should be able to get a rematch and both promoters' sides should love the idea because it can hoard more money for both camps.
After this fight against Figueroa, he should pursue taking back the WBC title. I just wish it will be a different result when that fight comes.
Figueroa has the same goal as he did challenge Vargas for that title match last July (after he took it from Magsayo) but ended up being denied to get the opportunity because Vargas said he has nothing to gain from it.
This may end up as a great fight as both boxers are aiming to get the title match that they badly want.

That is the thing right there, Vargas is not open to give opportunities to the boxer he once defeated or if he can't gain anything from fighting them. Although, let's still hope that if Magsayo will prevail on this fight successfully, Vargas will give him a chance to redeem his belt that was once on his possession and make a rematch. This speculated bout will be a good fight soon because Magsayo managed to knock down Vargas, right? And this time, I'm sure Magsayo will train much harder in-order to commit a different outcome.

Vargas though has move up in weight in his next fight, so if he is successful then he might not stay and give Magsayo a rematch even if Magsayo win this fight. Unless otherwise he also move up in weight and chase Vargas, but I doubt that will be the plan of Mark.

Maybe down the road they will have to clash again, but right now it's better that Magsayo focused first on his fight and get the belt and make his name relevant again. Let Vargas do his thing at 130 lbs vs Foster.
1355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want to Confess on: February 09, 2023, 05:56:38 PM
Perhaps this is what we call regret and not confession per se. I think everyone has been in that kind of situation before, not trusting bitcoin or not believing on it. But later down the road, we realized our mistakes and should have been making huge profits already.

In any case, it's not too late though, the OP can still invest right now and then wait for the next bull run, probably in 2024-2025 to make a lot of profit.
1356  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can golden cross on S & P chart trigger buying in Bitcoin? on: February 08, 2023, 07:18:22 PM
Yes it would impact cryptos because we are risk on like stocks. However the question is whether this cross will actually work out. In the past whenever we got these MA crosses it sometimes worked and sometimes was a nice trap. So pretty much works 50% of the time. And at that point you pretty much can just use another indicator.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, this is the not the first time, and for sure not the last one that we are going to see in bitcoin. And in the past, it's surely a hit or miss on it. Of course there could be correlation with other market, but we all know that there are times that bitcoin will suddenly divert on these so called indicators like Golden Cross and others. So we will see if this could trigger something big, or obviously, nothing has happen in the last couple of days for us, the price is still very volatile and fluctuating between numbers.
1357  Economy / Economics / Re: The journey of Bitcoin. on: February 08, 2023, 06:55:35 PM
Retention is the key factor here. What's the point if the investors invest and quickly sell their assets and convert them into FIAT? Investors need to continue HODLING their stash for longer periods in my opinion.

This is only possible if the pros and cons related to BTC continue to rise and fall respectively over time.

Yes, retention, which means that you have the mental fortitude to stay in the game for so long that you don't need to quickly sell to fiat for nothing. So it's not that easy to invest in bitcoin in my opinion.

And obviously, it's not a get quick scheme. The journey will be long and hard, but there are investors who survived in the last 10 years investing in bitcoin and just selling it if necessary.
1358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Tony Harrison vs Tim Tszyu - Mar 13, 2023 on: February 08, 2023, 06:32:49 PM
I didn't realize that Tim Tszyu is already inactive for nearly a year. But it could a blessing in disguise, I don't really see him winning against Jermell Charlo. Jermell Charlo would've been too fast, too strong, too experienced, and too powerful for Tim. Tony Harrison is a good test and I want to see if Tim has improved a lot and if he is ready for the undisputed champ. If this fight is staged in the US, I'm pretty sure the odds would've been closer than what we are seeing at the moment. Tony Harrison is a very confident guy and is the only one that blemished Jermell's record although he lost in the rematch, it was very close before he was stopped in the 11th round. Hats off to Tim for not taking an easy fight.

On the other hand. It seems like Jermell has overdue mandatories already. Sebastian Fundora deserved a title shot rather than that worthless WBC interim. We'll see if Charlo wants a tune-up in his return or if he will right away face any of his mandatories.

Hopefully he will not go for a tune up once he has recovered from his injuries and go directly to Tim because that's what the schedule fight for him. And that is why Tim has to take a fight because he will have a long lay off if he wait for Charlo to heal. So it's better to take a get busy fight against Harrison, but it's a dangerous one. This is not an easy fight for him, or what we say a tune up fight. He has to push himself because Harrison is a tough challenger. The rematch is still close until Harrison gets over confident as Charlo stop him in 11 rounds. So Harrison is still very dangerous.
1359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how many times have you intended to stop gambling on: February 08, 2023, 06:05:25 PM
I think if you want to stop you need to stop, i know this sound like the same with other words, but not.

Definitely, but it's two different things in my opinion, it's the emotion though that you need to conquer. If you don't have control over it, even if your mind says to stop, you can still go back and gamble and continue.

If your mind and body tell you from the inside STOP no matter for what (most probably for losing money, or maybe time), you need to quit the gambling and re think all yourself and life, because you were hooked and you can fall more.

Again it's takes more than that. That's why gambling addiction is way different to let's say quitting smoking. It will really take a lot from you, mind, body and the help from within your circles, families and friends before you can quit gambling for good.

Great time to break a scoring record while LeBron is on fire, unfortunately the Thunder spoiled it by handing them over the L. Now that LeBron is sitting at the top of everyone in terms of all time scoring, this somehow will not end the goat debate lol and that's for sure, this will only add fuel to this burning goat debate lol.

Anyway, I was wondering if there are people who put a bet on this one? I mean LeBron breaking the record against OKC and not against the Bucks.

That Goat discussion will lead to nowhere, everyone has his own goat, based on our criteria.

We should be be thankful for those who have seen the era of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and now Lebron James reach greatness. In terms of ring, of course Jordan 6 out of 6. And if Lebron will just win one or two, then he could be in the Mt. Rushmore of basketball.

40,000 points is not that far for Lebron to reach, he is not stopping and getting stronger and probably can still go and play in the next 2-3 years, high level of basketball.
