No information, sneak peek from PowerGlove about his plan and contribution for EpochTalk new forum software.
Yeah I was talking about him and I was secretly hoping he might pick up and speed up development of EpochTalk Wink
Even if that scenario never happens, he did a great job of fixing bugs and improving current software, but he can't turn grandma into young girl again.
1502  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: [VELIKA LISTA] Hardverski novčanici (80+) on: October 06, 2023, 04:02:34 PM
imas neki stari smart phone? hard reset, sve izbrises s njega, instaliras npr.

Postoji i cash face-to-face meeting opcija.
Mislim da ćemo uskoro imati ponude za našu regiju.

u međuvremenu postali i open-source.
Peach Bitcoin app ima novi source code, ali nije open source već verifiable source code ili Common Clause:

This is really strange. I mean how?? Huh
Did you receive any PM in forum recently, and did you click any links?
Most likely you gave hackers your login details with some phishing page that looks almost identical to original bitcointalk forum.
Maybe you accessed forum from different device/location, and all it takes in few seconds for something like this to happen.
If you are using wind0ws, consider switching to Linux OS (Debian, Fedora, Mint) to reduce chances of getting malware.

PS
One good developer is working on adding 2FA on bitcointalk forum, so I would also use that in future when it get's introduced, as additional protection.
1505  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor New Hardware Wallet _____! on: October 05, 2023, 09:09:39 PM
A new model with their own secure element? Is that actually something they talked about before?
Yes, they have been working on that in last few years and I was talking about it for a while in forum.

I'm really wondering what are the important features they are missing, that would require them to release new hardware for them to implement. Any thoughts? aside from maybe support for more non-EVM crypto?
Secure Element made by Trezor with open source firmware.
I don't really care about other shitcoin support.

I'm seeing two new devices... Is it just me or does the other device look like a black version of Cryptosteel Capsule?
I don't know about that, only thing I know that device is black.  Wink
Trezor is probably going to release a bit more information about this devices in next few days.

I hope they call it the T800.  If so, I'll be back.
Sounds cool, but then it  needs T1000 bad cop enemy  Cool

1506  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Square is considering making a hardware wallet for Bitcoin on: October 05, 2023, 09:01:32 PM
we need more alternatives and more decentralization!
Really?!
How much new hardware wallets do we really need, because we already have around 100 different models I think  Tongue
Bitkey wallet has nothing to do with decentralization, on contrary, and I can't look positive on every new crap that comes out in market, that is not normal behavior.
1507  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Square is considering making a hardware wallet for Bitcoin on: October 05, 2023, 02:06:14 PM
My main concern is beta units seem to be going out, but source code is nowhere to be found.
I am sure they are cooking something behind the scenes  Cheesy
Not that I like anything about Bitkey, except maybe unusual hexagonal shape.

My main concern is that even if we get the source code, we will see that the device is an insecure privacy nightmare, due to the software and hardware architecture they chose: no screen, server-side verification of addresses, and more. There is no way that (open-source or not) code will solve these glaring issues.
Perfect scenario for disaster, but some people probably decided to blindly trust Jack and his team.  Tongue
1508  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Trezor Safe 3 New Hardware Wallet on: October 05, 2023, 02:02:05 PM
Trezor just released teaser post on twitter saying they are preparing a big reveal coming on October 12, and I am guessing this is their new model with their own secure element!

They even created countdown page on their website for new products, with this question: Ready for hassle-free crypto security?
https://content.trezor.io/new-products

We can see glimpses of new device, and all we can see is black shiny color and totally new design.
I think that ledger and other hardware wallet manufacturers are probably sweating right now  Cheesy

Can someone guess the name for new Trezor device?

1509  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Spend Sats on: October 04, 2023, 07:29:15 PM
Spend Sats is a regularly updated database of online businesses accepting bitcoin

https://spend-sats.com
Is this website made and owned by you?

This category needs some updating.
I wouldn't really put everything under hardware wallet category, and some entries needs typing corrections.
You need to add letter L to Cryptostee, and move this to new Backup Seed category (same as Vulcan, Seedor, etc.).

1510  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: THEYA - new mobile multisig wallet on: October 04, 2023, 07:13:11 PM
today i reliably came across the new mobile Theya Bitcoin wallet on the internet.
Must be ''good'' wallet because it's backed by world-class ''investors''  Tongue

Another wrong claim on their website is that hardware wallets have single point of failure.
This is not true for all hardware wallets, since they can all use multisig setup, and some of them have Shamir's Secret Sharing scheme as alternative.
You don't even have to use hardware wallet to create multisig setup, and you certainly don't have to use wallets with closed source code like Theya.
1511  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Digital Yuan Hardware Wallets on: October 04, 2023, 06:35:02 PM
As a collector I’ve been trying to get my hands on their first issued blue wallet card. I recently came across an article and found out there’s a few now.
I personally wouldn't waste any money on this and support this terrible idea of having fake hardware wallets for CBDC junk  Tongue
Even if this is only meant to be a collectible item, this is indirectly supporting digital fiat currencies, CBDC and China, and I don't want to do that.
Now there was one interesting old card with screen that worked in western world few decades ago, this could be considered similar like hardware wallet, but I can't remember exact name for this card right now.

EDIT:
Found it!
It was Mondex smart card electronic cash system, that was later purchased by Mastercard.
Now this would be interesting collectibles item Wink

1512  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seed Backup Solutions, compared feature by feature on: October 04, 2023, 05:59:45 PM
thebitcoinhole.com launched a new section on our website: "Seed Backup". We compare different seed phrase metal backup solutions, feature by feature. You can filter, sort and compare.
We have plans to add more solutions, this is just the start.
Nice work.
You are working quickly following my suggestions   Smiley

Good source of information for seed backup is Jameson Lopp with his website and github page.
He already has a page with detailed reviews, rating, prices and he personally stress tested this product with extreme heat, acid, etc.
You don't have to add all products listed there right away, but it would be good to check them out, and I am sure there are more of them he didn't test.
I had few more sources bookmarked, but I have to find them, and you can also add simple Stainless Seed washers that work great for this purpose and they are cheap.

Someone should probably report this websites to Apple.

Stay away from this scam, and don't send them any coins!
1514  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Square is considering making a hardware wallet for Bitcoin on: October 04, 2023, 04:42:49 PM
Jack Dorsey and his company Block have started the first beta units of their new Bitcoin hardware wallet BITKEY.
Teaser image was posted on twitter by one of the beta testers who received this wallet, and we know that fingerprint scanner is optional.
I checked Bitkey website and they still offer only option to Join whitelist.

1515  Economy / Reputation / Re: To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men on: October 04, 2023, 04:30:46 PM
Here considering someone as friend and enemy are both weird. A friend knows everything about his friend, an enemy does his study based on the physical existence of the person he dislike, at-least he will know your home and office address.
Anyone who ever own any social media account probably have this weird virtual online ''friends'', so there is nothing special with bitcointalk friends and enemies.
I simply like and share the same ideas and points of view with certain members, and and the other side I don't agree with few other members so I ignore them.
I am doing the same thing in real life btw, and I don't need to know everything about everybody.

Here is the reason of this thread: Please do not PM me and ask favor to add/remove a specific user or to leave a feedback because something effected you personally.
This topic won't help you with this, and you can't exactly disallow everyone to PM you.
1516  Other / Meta / Re: BPIP extention using method in Mobile Browser on: October 04, 2023, 04:13:58 PM
I am finding it add to add the extensions to it, rather it’s showing me something different from what you showed in the pictorial representation. Is it limited to some browsers only or I’m the one missing something out?
You can try to download, unpack extension and install it manually on Kiwi browser, but I don't really trust that browser.
Since you are already using it... have you tried adding BPIP extension using your Mozilla Firefox browser?

1517  Other / Meta / Re: TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk on: October 04, 2023, 03:51:08 PM
Once again, I am very grateful for your generosity and support for this project.
I say again that, whatever depends on me, this project will last many, many years. And your support is only helping in this regard.  Wink
I hope you will be active for many years, but maybe you should think about backup alternative solutions in case something happens with you.
To prevent losing of all images maybe you should consider giving access to one or two trusted forum members, so they can continue your work if you are unable to do it.
I don't know if theymos did the same thing with bitcointal forum, but I would give the same suggestion to him. Wink
1518  Local / Altcoins (Hrvatski) / Re: Svi altocini su prevara on: October 02, 2023, 10:07:03 PM

Suggestions please.
Defender usually makes false positives a lot, so please STOP using wind0ws 0S spyware.
Linux OS (Fedora, Mint, Debian...) is free alternative and you won't have any issues with malware.
