1581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: January 22, 2024, 11:03:59 AM
This is a formal lead since Real has a game in hand and on average Real clearly scores more than a point per game.
As for the performance, it is impressive, however, among the first 9 teams, Girona has the worst statistics in terms of the number of goals conceded, so the degree of their dominance (the difference between goals scored and goals conceded) is not so great.
It's a shame that Athletic lost to Valencia - I want Barcelona to worry about their place in the top 4  Grin
If it's let for me to decide the twist and turn of the Laliga then I for would love to place this Girona team at the top of the league come MAY when the league will be decided. Girona has definitely shown their brilliance and excellent performance and I really love their passion it's almost as if they would repeat same feat Leicester city did in the premier league when they broke all the odds and became champions of England despite the top teams all being present in the league. It would be nice to see some changes prior to the consistent teams that always come out victorious in the Laliga.

Yes, new champions always bring something fresh to the usual pool of teams competing for the title. But I hope this season we will limit ourselves to the championship of, for example, Arsenal (everyone has already forgotten when they had the title in the Premier League) and Bayer. Girona is associated with the group that controls City (I really don’t like this team), so if this group makes such a daring expansion into La Liga, it will not be very good.
1582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 22, 2024, 10:44:08 AM
When you are a player like Mbappe, a good, even great player but with a great team and end up winning the world cup at very very early age, even before you win UCL, you sort of think that World Cup is great, but it is not as special as some other players make it out to be, because you won it when you were like what 19-20 years old? It doesn't feel like it's that important, you do not grasp the value of winning something like that properly, even though he is probably aware how much it worths, he can't fully understand it like Messi can.

Messi won EVERYTHING before he won world cup, that dude has won everything he could ever win, he was the best player for a whole decade, even more, and of course when he finally won the world cup after winning everything else, that must have felt a lot better.

Been the best player for over a decade? I would say that you exaggerated 10 times, but I’m not at all sure that there was a year in which Messi was the best. Messi is a PR project that stole all the achievements of such players as Iniesta, Xavi, Busquets, Puyol, etc.
And it’s always funny for me to read how Messi fanboys praise him for something (for example the World Cup) but in the case of other players (for example Mbappe, Iniesta, Xavi, etc.) these same achievements are suddenly not so important  Grin
1583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 22, 2024, 08:21:04 AM
What's the point of him playing for City until he's 40, if he can go to Saudi Arabia and earn as much before he's 35 as he would earn playing for City until he's 40? Maybe he doesn't have enough titles? And does he really need an 8th Premier League title (or how many does he already have)?
In City he has already won everything he could, so now he can play purely for the sake of money.
Besides, it’s good that you compared him with Modric - in the end, Real was able to ensure that Modric received the highest individual award - the Ballon d'Or, but City will never do anything for KDB.
Teams from the Premier League will not keep players who are old they will definitely dispose of them one day because they will be replaced by young players who are more productive, well now it can still be said that Kevin De Bruyne can still be relied on by his team, just look at the next few seasons he will often experience problems including from his fitness.

True one or two more seasons he can play by enjoying a lot of money from Arab if he really wants to go there, it will still be a legend at Manchester City because it has become a great midfielder even though it has separated later, so I think Kevin De Bruyne still has a chance for that.

He is far from old at the moment - he is 32 years old and turns 33 this summer. For many footballers, these are still the golden years/years at or near their peak. But if he wants to move to Saudi Arabia, then he must do it right now - firstly, it is not a fact that in a couple of years they will offer the same astronomical salaries (one way or another the situation should level out), and secondly, he must come there in normal form and not on the decline. As we see in the example of Benzema, everything can turn out very badly if you do not meet the expectations of the fans there.

Good prediction and indeed Galatasaray, Roma, Milan, Benfica, Marseille, Sporting, Braga, Lens are team that are strong enough to win this play-off round so they can have big chance of advancing to the round of 16.
~

There is nothing difficult in assuming that the favorites will win  Wink But I expect that in at least 2-3 pairs a surprise awaits us, after all, this is the Europa League and the playoff round where the underdogs are more motivated than the favorites.
Therefore, I will not bet money here (especially in the first games) and I do not advise anyone to add the outcomes of these games to multi-bets.

And in another match, Girona also managed to widen its lead by beating Sevilla with a score of 5-1. In that match, Dovbyk also managed to score 3 goals (hatrick) against Sevilla. So with the results of this match, Girona remains at the top of the standings. Even though the difference in points with Real Madrid is only 1 point. However, Girona has proven that this season Girona has succeeded in becoming the most productive team in La Liga.

This is a formal lead since Real has a game in hand and on average Real clearly scores more than a point per game.

1586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 22, 2024, 07:37:33 AM
To be honest, Bayern Munich tried to do everything to beat Werder Bremen and get the three points from this match but they couldn't do that in the end. I think Bayern Munich losing this match is not enough reason to blame the team because they still had a good performance but regardless of that, I think Leverkusen is happy about this result more than than Werder Bremen because there's there's more gap between Leverkusen and Bayern Munich.

Judging by the statistics, Bayern dominated:

Shots - 21:8
Shots on target – 6:3
Corners – 10:2

but here's the most interesting part:

Expected goals 1.76 - 0.4

Werder's victory can be called unfair and illogical, but that's football - the element of chance (and individual skill/luck) is always there and sometimes it outweighs everything else.
But as they say, the strongest are lucky, which means Bayern were not stronger yesterday.
1587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 22, 2024, 07:25:23 AM
just imagine what if you had 2 teams that you really like? would you like both of them to become UCL title holders? Huh
but I'm sure you will prefer Man City to be the UCL title holders this season.  Tongue
IMHO, each person must be a fan of 1 football team. I don't know if someone can be a fan of 2 teams or more.  Grin
Sure, there will be 1 winner only, you must choose 1 team to be the favorite team. I prefer Man City to win it because their squad looks better, specifically when all the players are in good condition. Now, the injury players have recovered, they are ready to show their best performance in UCL.
~

Strange reasoning. It’s just as strange as arguing that you can’t be a fan of barbecue and computer games at the same time. In addition, I am generally against being a real fan of any club - sport is entertainment/business, but not a religious faith (and the wars that result from this). I like several clubs and over the course of the seasons my preferences change, I don’t see anything illogical in this: if a club provides a good product (game) I like it, if not, then I will find a better product.

Dsports reports that Messi and Di Maria will take part in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris
https://www.directvsports.com/futbol/Exclusivo-Messi-y-Di-Maria-quieren-jugar-los-Juegos-Olimpicos-y-AFA-afina-el-plan-para-que-que-esten-en-Paris-20240119-0020.html

Looks like I know who will win the Ballon d'Or next year  Roll Eyes
I wonder if almost 40-year-old men are not ashamed to go to a youth team competition? I know that there is an age limit but several players above this limit can be of any age, but what a shame it is. If Messi wants to prove something, maybe it would be easier to return to Europe and play? But no, he chooses some shameful ways to support the PR of his brand.
Hahaha everything will feel very easy for Messi because he is like golden boy by FIFA and Messi will be able to achieve what he wants even though that may be topic of conversation for many football fans.
But this will be different for Messi fans and they will still consider Messi as the best and Messi as the greatest star of all the existing players.
If he really takes part in the competition then it can be confirmed that there is another goal and of course this is about his name and career as football player, for some reason there are players who are full of protection from the top football federation officials.

It just that I not really sure whether he can get the Ballon d'Or in the future because the last award yesterday has caused negative sentiment and if that happens again then we will know what football fans are talking about and thinking about.

It looks like the PR people will be riding this dead horse for a long time - the America's Cup is ahead, plus, as we now know, the Olympics, so next year we can again give all the awards to Messi (if Argentina's performance is at least not terrible). Then in the USA they will invent, in addition to the League Cup, some other fucking tournament of third-rate teams and it will be possible to hold out until 2026 and the World Cup in America. Probably the medium-term goal is exactly this - for the largest competition you need great PR, and Messi, in whose PR FIFA has invested for decades, is ideal for this.

Has Bavaria finally been dethroned? Moreover, Bayern is very good this season (compared to the previous one), but so far Bayer is even better.

it is actually only four points (7 with a game in hand), but Bayer looks really stunning so far
nevertheless, both teams have histories in situations like these, Bayern to catch-up whatever is needed, and Bayer to blow the lead, no matter how big it is Smiley, so it is far from over

but Augsburg to overturn a match in M'Gladbach is also big surprise, they were known as home team till this season, but so far winning away matches this season works for them

Yes, with different numbers of games it is customary to count lost points and not gained, but as we see, these “potential” points still need to be scored, right?
If we apply bookmaker logic, then Bayern is behind not by 7 or 4 points, but by 7 points minus the mathematical expectation from the postponed game, it will be approximately 80% * 3 = 2.4. It turns out that Bayern is 4.6 points behind Bayer.
Is it a lot or a little? Bayer currently scores 88% of points on average, but let’s say their average season efficiency is 80% (this is still a lot), it turns out that in a single game the team gains 2.4 points and loses 0.6. Therefore, the maximum number of points that Bayern will win back on average is 0.6 -> Bayern will need 4.6/0.6 = 7.66 perfect games to catch up with Bayer.
That was a bit of bookmaker logic  Grin
I can also calculate the percentage of points that Bayern should score in the remaining games if Bayer maintains its effectiveness (or decreases), but I already want to sleep.

1593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 21, 2024, 08:28:17 PM
Despite the huge difference in the class of teams, the quotes for the first game are quite interesting:

9,80 - 5,00 - 1,32

I see a clear hint here that the bookmakers are not sure that City will try to win this game or try at all. If this was a "necessary" game for City they would be listed as 1.05-1.1.
There is a great temptation to bet on Copenhagen or Copenhagen double chance (the odds compensate for the risk), but it seems to me more profitable to wait for the result of the first game and if it is successful (Copenhagen win or draw) then bet on City in the second game.

I don't think that there has ever been a game in the knockout rounds of the Champions League where the bookies gave odds to the team playing away from home lower than 1.1. Everyone who saw how Copenhagen played against Bayern Munich at home, knows that this isn't going to be 0-5 for Manchester City without any effort. The 1.32 rather reflects the possibility that this game has a chance to end in a draw. I don't believe Manchester City will be beaten, but a draw can always happen. I guess that is what the bookies take into account here and the performances from the group stage.

Hmm... maybe you're right, but let's check in the return game - I think that the odds there will be exactly the same as I assumed. As for the games in the group, they don’t mean anything at all, in most groups everything is clear right away and the favorites don’t worry about their place in the 1/8. Even in the death group F, what can be said based on its results? That Dortmund is stronger than PSG and Milan?
I think the odds does not reflect the strength of Copenhagen, but the fact that City will not strain itself - like last year with Leipzig (1-1, and then 7-0).

due to the match being postponed (mainz vs. union) and the current points score in our pool, the winner of the matchday will only be determined after the match has been played
a total of 4 users (-Lemming-, LTU_btc, Spray. & darxiaomi) are currently leading the matchday with 12 points each and are therefore among the potential matchday winners, as are the other participants with 8 or more points
unfortunately, it is not yet clear when the match will be replayed

I think they should agree among themselves and make the same forecast so as not to push their luck, but to be guaranteed to get a yellow cap and a free bet  Cheesy It seems to me that this is an ideal plan, especially considering that forum connections allow you to trust each other.

Bayern München : Werder Bremen  0:1

bayern munich actually lost at home against werder bremen with 0:1. i think that's a little sensation. my tip was a 4:1 for bayern .
i'm now curious to see what the media will say again : bayern has the wrong coach, or bayern has the wrong players, or bayern has a crisis now ?
it doesn't matter what the media write : i think at the end of the season bayern munich will be in first place again like almost
every year and will be german champion for the 34th time  Wink

This is not a little sensation, but what a big fucking sensation!  Wink It's not about the individual result as Bayern are still very good in terms of points scored on average. The fact is that now their gap from Bayer is formally a gigantic 7 points, but in reality no less gigantic 4. This is a lot in the fight against a competitor who hardly loses points or loses them rarely. Now nothing depends on Bayern - even if they win the head-to-head match, Bayer can maintain the lead by winning (or playing no worse than Bayern) in all other games.
I'm looking forward to the bookmakers publishing odds for the title, it looks like Bayern are no longer favorites.
1596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 21, 2024, 02:03:14 PM
There is no guarantee that even though Copenhagen plays the first leg at home, they will be able to win against Manchester City and on the contrary, Copenhagen will try their best not to concede many goals. They need to do that if they want to achieve a miracle in the second leg which will be held at Manchester City's home ground later and even though we already know who will advance to the quarter-finals, of course surprises are still a mystery and we definitely want that too.

What would happen if the match between two teams of different levels had to be resolved through extra time or a penalty shootout, wouldn't that be an added value to the competition and here everyone would definitely be even more tense seeing the extraordinary performance of the two teams. Manchester city is sure to win but I expected something more from Copenhagen.

Despite the huge difference in the class of teams, the quotes for the first game are quite interesting:

9,80 - 5,00 - 1,32

1597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: January 21, 2024, 01:39:37 PM
This should be a fairly easy match for Real Madrid to win and get 3 points because Almeria is the weakest club in the league which is at the bottom of the standings and yes Real Madrid should not underestimate Almeria even though this club is the weakest club if you look at it in terms of whatever, but because this club has just achieved a draw with the club that is at the top of the standings at the moment, Real Madrid must remain careful, but I think that happens because the strengths of Girona and Real Madrid are different and basically Girona is not a club as big as Real Madrid so It seems impossible that Almeria can hold Real Madrid to a draw like they did before.

Real Madrid has a big chance of winning on paper, they are playing at home. I think Real Madrid can create at least 3 goal opportunities and I don't think Almeria will easily break through Real Madrid's defense in this match considering that Real Madrid's defense is very strong, especially against a club. weak like Almeria and I predict this match 3:0 for Real Madrid to win.

Same. I chose this outcome in the poll. Moreover, I am afraid to make a downward mistake because after the defeat from Atlético in the Copa del Rey, Real will want to show a strong game and a good result, so the game could end with a score of 4-0 or 5-0. Almeria concedes an average of 2.15 goals per game and Real Madrid scores an average of 2.1 goals per game, but these are average figures. In fact, Real and Almeria are at different poles of the standings, so these figures can be safely doubled and it turns out that 4-0 is the most expected score.
1598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: January 21, 2024, 01:13:40 PM
They are still extremely competitive, but it's always the same with world class players. When they are out for some reason, the team loses some of its world class. It would not be like that if the players weren't world class.

I disagree that these teams rely on Salah to win most of their games. It's in the nature of Salah and how good he is at the game that he scores most of the goals for the team. His contribution is bigger than that of others in terms of goals.

In my opinion Liverpool would still be the favorite for the title in the Europa League even if Salah was out for the rest of the season.

It seems to me that Liverpool will be more at the level of Bayer and Milan in this case. Salah for Liverpool is KDB for City and just recently we all saw how bad City is without KDB. But all this is just a theory, since judging by the news the injury turned out to be not serious and Salah will miss only two games. And by the way, if tomorrow Cape Verde shows integrity and plays Egypt seriously (despite the fact that they have already secured first place in the group), then Salah has a great chance of returning to the Premier League very quickly since Egypt only has two points and either Ghana or Mozambique could overtake them.
1599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 21, 2024, 01:01:58 PM
Any rumor that linked KDB to the saudi pro league will never come true and as reported by goal regarding the latest news suggest that if KDB will be getting a new offer from manchester city to extend his contract.

https://www.goal.com/en/news/live/transfer-news-and-rumours-live/blt1ccfda38eda06d5a

As you guys can see KDB has become the most important player in the club and he has massive impact to the club. The chance for saudi pro league to get him will be very small. I think that de bruyne can still stay at manchester city till he will be entering 40s.
Im only imagining that bruyne will able to play like modric which was almost 40 years old and so there is still less than a decade for him to stay in the manchester city. There's no need for saudi pro league to put a lot of hopes for him.
~

What's the point of him playing for City until he's 40, if he can go to Saudi Arabia and earn as much before he's 35 as he would earn playing for City until he's 40? Maybe he doesn't have enough titles? And does he really need an 8th Premier League title (or how many does he already have)?
In City he has already won everything he could, so now he can play purely for the sake of money.

But then let me ask you when you say that Ronaldo influenced the Saudi Professional League positively, what effects do you expect to remain long term that Ronaldo created? I agree that there was a lot of short term buzz, but what is it that will stay forever or for decades that Ronaldo did in a positive way for the league?

I as an observer have to say that whatever buzz Ronaldo created, it is rapidly declining at the moment. I can speak for myself that I was interested in seeing what's going on and now interest is decreasing. Players are leaving the league. No young talents could be hired and taken away from the best European clubs. I can see that there is not a lot left of the initial hype.

I wonder what answer you expect from him? Ronaldo opened the way to Saudi Arabia for absolutely everyone, after his transfer it became absolutely normal, another question is what the long-term consequences of this will be - but it does not depend on him.
And I don’t agree with you that the excitement is dying down, it’s just a return to normal - someone couldn’t adapt and is leaving, someone was expecting easy money without having to work hard, they are also leaving. But the League itself is developing and I’m looking forward to when its best clubs get into either the European Champions League or the Super League. In my opinion, this would be a logical business development. Even now, the Saudi League is watched with more attention than the European championships outside the top 5 (is anyone even interested in how things are going there except for the residents of those countries?).
