1621  Economy / Economics / Re: Al Transforming Job Market on: April 17, 2023, 11:23:41 AM
Sooner or later AI later transformed into robots and other machines are the ones doing human jobs with less error. Densely populated countries that are relying on labor might be a problem in the next decades to come unless birth control is successfully imposed. Even programmers might be soon with lesser demand if AIs are capable of doing the programs except on sensitive matters wherein humans are needed.

With this, education and enhancing the skills and interests of our kids are becoming a must if we want them to have successful careers in the future. And before that, we better plan ahead especially when it comes to financial security before engaging in married life and starting a family.
1622  Economy / Economics / Re: Maybe Not Possible For Governments To Get Off Fiat?? on: April 17, 2023, 11:03:57 AM
Isn't local fiats beneficial to its governments? Governments want to have a grip on their countries as much as possible. So replacing a local fiat with bitcoin is very hard to imagine. Maybe restore gold as the standard form when it comes to the issuance of fiat supply per country? The United States is the most powerful country and due to its influence, it is successful in making its local fiat the international standard currency. It would be hard to drop the US dollar as an international trade standard due to politics unless you are an enemy of the US or you are on the side of China and Russia.

Lol! So Henry Cejudo after 3 years of inactivity really has a 50/50 chance of winning against Aljamain Sterling? I understand Cejudo is also a legend just like Jon Jones but I wonder how many times they are capable of winning a championship fight right away after years of inactivity. I really like Sterling to lose his belt but I am now tempted to bet on him because of the odds. I really thought Sterling is a heavy favorite or at least something at 1.50. Sterling is even the slight underdog on some betting sites. Cheesy

Zhilei Zhang is an Olympic medalist and his name made waves when he turned pro which is unusual for Chinese boxers. But when he continued to face bum after bum, wasting the prime years of his body, I thought he is just another prospect that did not even try to face top-ranked fighters for a chance to become a world champion. Things changed when he gave Filip Hrgovic all he could handle last year in a very close fight. Although I believe Hrgovic just had an off-night performance, it was his first fight since the death of his father. I always believe that Filip is above all these fighters (except Usyk and Fury) for years and his title shot is long overdue, thanks to his promoter Eddie Hearn (the same promoter of former WBA, IBF, and WBO champ Anthony Joshua) who continued giving him nonsense fights probably to stay him away from becoming mandatory to AJ.

So with that previous solid performance by Zhang, I doubt the Juggernaut cherry-picked him. I always have doubts about Joyce, he is too slow. But Joyce did pass with flying colors when he annihilated the arrogant Daniel Dubois and that unexpected stoppage over former champion Joseph Parker. Joyce picking Zhang was like measuring himself about how good he is compared to Filip Hrgovic (IBF mandatory) and his readiness for the possible WBO mandatory against Usyk.

Still, it was a big upset after Joyce's previous solid wins over Dubois (WBA mandatory) and Parker. As for Zhang, he is heavy-handed with quick hands and a very tough chin but mobile fighters like Usyk and Fury should be able to box him in circles and maybe stop him in the late rounds.
1625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do women engage in crypto trading on: April 16, 2023, 10:57:02 PM
OP do you belong to a country where women are treated as second-class humans? In a normal world where women and men have the same rights, this is not even a question. Men and women are both to be educated and both can establish their own careers according to their choice. That being said, it is normal for women to engage in crypto trading just like men. This is not even a big deal in a normal country. I saw a lot of women traders here in my country and even mentors there are women as well. Thru social media, I am following a lot of women traders, especially in our local stock market where I am invested as well.
1626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy in casinos on: April 16, 2023, 10:36:56 PM

milewilda you said a very good point! base bet should be very small relative to the balance, and eight failures for example in dice, this is very little, even on 2x when using a martingale strategy can be a drag over 30 reds, so the bet, If you use more than 2x, you must do with the expectation of 40 losses

All in all, Martingale is not really dependable in all of our betting activities. It's not a bad strategy especially when we are lucky as well but we better have our limits set before we even started playing with this strategy to avoid more losses. I never experienced being dragged to 30 to 40 straight losses but this is indeed very possible. I cannot imagine starting with a very small immaterial amount just so I can survive many losses using Martingale. Also, depending on a certain strategy might lose the fun of betting.
1627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 16, 2023, 10:16:16 PM
So Tapales is then bound for an IBF mandatory later this year or next year. Matchroom and Akhmadaliev are also interested in appealing the WBA to enforce a mandatory knowing the fight was close enough to deserve a rematch. But personally, I hope the WBA will ignore it or at least make an eliminator fight first for Akhmadaliev, and then Tapales should just fight the winner of Inoue-Fulton for the undisputed championship.
That looks like it, either way, Marlon Tapales will have to defend his belt again this year as we're still on the 1st quarter of 2023. Still a long way to go but Tapales should understand this and be prepared for what the future is giving him because being a champion is not an easy thing because boxer will be aiming him now as he's the one who is holding the belt they wanted.

Quote
How dare Akhmadaliev want a rematch yet he never gave Daniel Roman the rematch he deserved years before. Akhmadaliev is not the one that unified the WBA and IBF belts, it was Daniel Roman who made an effort to start unifying his WBA belts against then-undefeated and IBF champion TJ Doheny. Unluckily Roman lost a very close split decision to the Uzbek.
What can I say, what goes around comes around. Akhmadaliev deserved what he got now because he didn't anticipated Tapales's action in the ring which makes him on the losing side now. I bet he now knows the feeling of chasing an opponent that is already not interested on him as for Tapales's camp, Akhmadaliev is totally a finished chapter.

We'll likely see about the that in the next few months, but for now, these sanctioning bodies should let the new champion enjoy his status for a while because they already know that in the coming months, he will likely face another boxer that will come to him and try to secure the belts that he got. IBF and WBA seems to have their own boxers lined up for the new champ.
This fight was an IBF mandatory so hopefully, they will give the champion at least a year before imposing another mandatory. The WBA, however, is the one that can possibly issue a mandatory which is probably Akhmadaliev again. Hearn is keen on requesting a mandatory too thru the WBA.

I prefer Tapales to have an easier voluntary defense of his belts and then face Inoue next if the Japanese wins over Fulton. We want the best to face the best and there is nothing more than a unification for the undisputed championship.
1628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 16, 2023, 09:56:23 PM
Very intense game today in play-offs with Grizzlies taking on Lakers and this game could go either way even if the bookies are currently giving Grizzlies as favorites. I'm saying this because Lakers in play-offs are really a different team and they should never be underestimated, especially when they have a fully recovered LeBron who looks kinda hungry for performance in this end of the overall season.
The Lakers outscored them 30-11 in the final 8 minutes of the game, and that 15-0 run to end the game lead them to steal Game 1 on the road.

This is the first time that the Lakers got 4 players who got 20+ points in a single game since the 80's, and if you're playing that way, there's no way you can lose. Hachimura and Reaves combined for 52 points while their all-star players AD and Lebron scored 22 and 21 points.

On the other hand, Jackson Jr. lead the Grizzlies with 31 points, but that wasn't enough for the to get the win. The game was really a close one until Reaves scored 7 on the Lakers' 15 final points to secure the victory. He really is a good addition to the team, and he deserves a better contract IMO. I just hope that Morant's ok though because he got an awkward fall when he drove inside, and injured his right hand.
What a shame. I thought Memphis will come out blazing in the 4th quarter after losing the previous quarter. The Lakers are really difficult to beat when healthy, Bron and AD are well-experienced playoff players and the rest of the team can gain knowledge and confidence. They really showed efficiency although I am not calling the offensive efficiency of Memphis bad either they really need to do better defensively if they want to beat the Lakers in this series.

I am not feeling good about Ja's injury. But I am also hoping that it is not that serious although reports mentioned that he was already playing with an injury in that same hand so it might really turn worse.

Game 1 between Milwaukee and Miami is starting already. Some NBA playoff games are too early for some here in our country that we need to wake up early in the morning just to watch them. Cheesy
I want Miami to also pull an upset although this is more difficult to achieve knowing Milwaukee's consistency over the years. So far Tyler Herro is starting hot and hopefully, it will continue in the rest of the game since I expect Adebayo to limit if offense once again as he will be more focused on Giannis.
1629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 13) on: April 16, 2023, 09:35:44 PM
But imagine if Casimero's title shot will be against his friend, the IBF and WBA champion Marlon Tapales? I wonder what will be the result if this happens.

This is very interesting but I would rather see Casimero having a title shot to whoever the winner of the fight between Inoue and Fulton.  I would love to see Casimero vs Tapales in a unification fight for the undisputed champion of the super bantamweight title unifying all the belts.

If the fight happens, the way I see how Tapales fight, I think Casimero has the advantage.  I feel that Casimero has the punches and tenacity, skills, and move to beat Tapales.  Tapales' wins against the former champion is not impressive btw.  I had the former champion winning but it is what it is, the two judges who favored Tapales may saw something that I don't.
Yeah, I also hope that Casimero gets his title shot against the winner of Inoue-Fulton. Out of these 2 fighters, I like Casimero vs Inoue to settle the dust although I doubt Inoue feels that there is a rivalry between him and Casimero. The last time I checked the 4 sanctioning bodies' ranks, it was the WBO and the WBC that ranked Casimero inside the top 10, and Fulton now holds these belts.

The Philippines never had an undisputed champion during the 3-belt and now 4-belt era. Imagine if Casimero wins the WBO and WBC belts and then faces Tapales to complete all the belts. This will be the first time and a guaranteed undisputed champ from Ph. Meanwhile, Tapales mentioned Inoue as his most preferred opponent solidifying the assumption that an undisputed champion will soon come out. If ever Inoue becomes undisputed, he will become the first undisputed champ in 2 divisions in this 4-belt era. I am not even sure if there was a 2 division undisputed champion during the 3-belt era.
1630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 16, 2023, 05:02:25 PM
Fun fact : Bulls have 1.7% chance for NR1 pick ...and it's the same percentage when they got Derrick Rose  Grin Grin ( a fan like myself can hope )

I might focus on watching the Phoenix Suns against the Los Angeles Clippers later. But the Grizzlies and the Lakers are today's closest game as per the betting odds. I prefer betting on Denver and the Bucks but due to the large spreads and game 1, I just opted for Memphis at -4.5. I know the Lakers are not to be underestimated because both Lebron and AD are well-experienced at this level but maybe the tenacity of Memphis might be too hot to handle especially since this is only game 1 and they might not feel that pressured and they are also playing at home.
1631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: we don't have proper education on bitcoin. on: April 15, 2023, 11:30:02 PM
So what do you suggest OP? Tell our governments to enforce mandatory lessons about bitcoin? Governments won't probably do that except El Salvador and the Central African Republic where these 2 countries already legalized bitcoin as a legal currency. The El Salvadorian government has bitcoin investments it is normal for them to include bitcoin in its basic education.

There are curriculums already in some schools that included bitcoin in their technology and finance subjects. And I have this feeling that this will continue to grow with or without government interventions. Bitcoin is becoming that big and it will keep its students ignorant if they are not going to include bitcoin in some of its lessons. But we better not expect this to happen to countries that banned bitcoin.

1633  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and Gambling on: April 15, 2023, 10:49:01 PM
So maybe we can see any similarities or a resemblance between bitcoin and gambling. Bitcoin is a currency just like fiat's USD and EUR and these casinos will use many currencies in order to cater to as many clients as possible. Bitcoin's growth over the years prompted casinos and sports betting companies to adopt the currency to further boost their clients worldwide just like when they want to add more local currencies from various countries.

When it comes to investing there are risks so maybe this is the same with gambling. Casino games though are mostly based on luck but we have card games and sports betting that is partly more on analysis in order to win which is somewhat similar to bitcoin charting using technical indicators and fundamental analysis.
1634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How not having money helped my Bitcoin journey on: April 15, 2023, 10:28:06 PM
When I started my bitcoin journey, I invested some money because I do not have much idea about earning bitcoins online. Also, the people around me convinced me that I should also invest money into crypto, particularly in bitcoin due to its high potential. They also invested money when they start their journey. Later did I knew that there are many activities that will let you earn money in crypto. Then I started to join groups on Facebook and met a lot of people that are into the crypto industry and many of them did not even spend money to invest yet they were already holding some bitcoins and altcoins. This indicates that a determined person can own bitcoin too thru its knowledge and skills.
1635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [Link] How to be eligible for potential ZkSync retrospective airdrop on: April 15, 2023, 10:08:16 PM
This is one of the most awaited projects that will launch its own airdrop soon. Many thought that it is going to happen last month after a series of tweets from some well-known projects in crypto but that was the time when they launched Era. I made transactions in the bridge twice and did some transactions in their test net. Maybe I should only trade and then of course use Era for better chances of being qualified. We still have nearly a year to do these tasks. That is a long period of time but that time the market will be in a bull run so this one should not be missed.
1636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 13) on: April 15, 2023, 09:48:37 PM
.
Now if Casimero will lose this one, there's no need for him to continue his career anymore as I think it's already safe to assume that he can't get big fights because he just lost this bout. Just in-case though.

I agree, a loss in this fight will definitely put a stain on Casimero's career and name, and I bet he will have a hard time having some future fights ahead of him if he will be defeated against an unknown boxer. If that happens, Nghitumbwa will be the one who will proceed as defeating Casimero will surely give a lot of attention including the fights.

Moreover, Casimero should just retire because he's not that young anymore to start at the bottom of the food chain again and nobody will be interested on fighting him anymore as fighting him won't give them the benefits that they wanted as Casimero will be just another somebody in the industry if that happens.

But on the bright side, I'm sure that John Riel Casimero won't let that happen.

He will be back to zero at this weight class and will have a difficult time to get a chance to crack or get a title shot. That's why eventhough his opponent is not known, he still needs to win this and as we have been saying, he should knockout this guy to send a message to his opponent and the governing body that he is ripe for another chance to fight for a world title again.

Chances though are slim for Casimero to lose fight, it will be in his hometown and so it will give him energy to show a good fight for his fans in the Philippines.
This is like a tune-up fight for Casimero but knowing that Nghitumbwa is also ranked by 2 of the 4 sanctioning bodies means that this is a good opportunity for him to increase his ranks further. Maybe the WBO will put Casimero in the top 5 if he wins impressively. If Casimero cannot get a title shot after this then he should try to face fighters like Akhmadaliev or the loser of Inoue vs Fulton and other highly ranked fighters.

But imagine if Casimero's title shot will be against his friend, the IBF and WBA champion Marlon Tapales? I wonder what will be the result if this happens.
1637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 14, 2023, 10:54:17 PM
Do you guys agree with the fine that was applied to Mavs for resting their players ?  even if they wouldn't make the play in tournament...so I think they had all the rights to safe the rest of the season for some players and get them to rest earlier. I do hope Irving was not allowed to have any rest what so ever because he is the main reason of why Mavs missed play offs.

The fine was $750,000 towards Mavs org.

Oh my! So they were indeed found guilty by NBA officials. I guess the spirit of competitiveness applies to any team that has the chance to enter the play-ins to give it all and not rest its main players. Unlike those at the top wherein they already secured clear slots for the playoffs.

I am a fan of the Dallas Mavericks too but maybe the NBA is right because they gave up when there was still a chance. I guess the decision is more on Luka and is supported by the team overall. They would not risk possible injuries and maybe they already saw enough that queen Kyrie is not fit for their team.

I hope they will let go of queen Kyrie next season. For his $30+ million a season, that is enough to get seasoned players that can play roles to Luka. How about Markannen or Clarkson if the Jazz is still reluctant to provide quality players to their two stars?
1638  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: April 14, 2023, 10:23:33 PM
People are actually at the right time to start investing in bitcoin and some altcoins. They are cheaper than the last two years so someone that starts now saved a lot of time to lower their average. I am also accumulating slowly and I will buy some satoshis even at $30k higher this month as part of my DCA. And I will continue doing this for the whole year and maybe even until next year before the halving of bitcoin.

Generally speaking, there is no such thing as late in investing. As long as you are knowledgeable enough about that certain asset of your choice then you are ready. Just don't forget to only invest what you can afford to lose.
1639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Champions prediction. on: April 14, 2023, 09:53:34 PM
My personal pick is the Denver Nuggets but this is from a fan perspective.

We have so many competitive teams nowadays that a good team is not even enough to enter the playoffs. My mind says the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics are the two top teams that might win the crown. Although I am not going to ignore the other teams. GSW is always a team that may perform medium-well during a regular season but they are beasts when it comes to the playoffs. Years of experience in the finals and its new players being exposed to their veterans make them very hard to beat during playoffs unless their core players are injured. I am also curious about how well the Suns perform this playoff with KD. I think they are enough to handle a healthy Clippers in the first round. And there's also the healthy Sixers, they are now a force to be reckoned with.
1640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorites altcoins these days? on: April 14, 2023, 09:33:37 PM
My favorite coin so far is only BTC and maybe consider ETH too as secondary since there seems to be zero time when I have zero holdings of this coin. I have a list of more than 20 coins here that I can choose to invest. But right now my portfolio is 62% BTC, ETH 22%, and then some BNB, SYS, MATIC, and furthermore coins in smaller denominations like BAT the token of Brave browser.

ARB is also on my list but I am waiting for it to drop $1 which seems to be impossible now as it is already up at $1.68.
