1641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does it take to become a Bitcoin investor on: April 14, 2023, 09:11:44 PM
There are no such rules when it comes to the amount of investment. No matter how small the amount is as long as you invested something then I guess you are already an investor. Small amounts are even advised for newbies since they are not that familiar and they can just increase it over time. It is also very important to put an amount that you can only afford to lose. Diversification is another thing as well. You cannot put all your savings in one basket. This is good protection since dumps are also possible.
1642  Economy / Economics / Re: Quit borrowing on: April 14, 2023, 09:30:37 AM
Borrowing is not bad but only when the proceeds are used to build more sources of income. The principal amount will be paid more so the proceeds should be able to earn more than the capital plus interest and additional income for your effort.

In my country, loans from banks, lending, and credit cards are also rampant. And most people here I noticed take loans in order to buy appliances, gadgets, and other goods that are beyond their regular income. Savings is not in their dictionary.
1643  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Being Russia and Russian now on: April 13, 2023, 11:32:03 PM
I watched a vlogger before, she was anti-war and anti-Putin but she explained in her videos that there are no major changes to the local citizens. She also proved it while going to the market, shopping mall, and streets. Prices are the same although some Western brands are limited there are some of them that are still available in their malls. Their basic needs are mostly unaffected according to her.

Russia is a giant country with only over a hundred million population. Its resources are overflowing especially the basic needs and this is probably the reason why its local population is not really that affected. They still have access to China and Indian markets when it comes to cheap and basic stuff. Those Western brands in the malls like Adidas, Puma, etc. as what I've seen in the videos are maybe local-made? Or maybe they came from China legally or smuggled as these 2 nations remained strong partners.
1644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If I have $40,000 to invest in one #cryptocurrency. on: April 13, 2023, 10:57:57 PM
Your list of coins belongs in the top 50 so they are somewhat safe from huge pumps and dumps. Bitcoin and Ethereum are always the leading picks nowadays since they are proven over time. But if you are expecting your $40k to turn into a billion in the next 5 years, I doubt it will. Your capital needs to do the magic of x25,000 in order to turn into a billion. And those coins in your list are already worth billions. Bitcoin and Ethereum are not even expected to x100. If you want to become a billionaire with that same amount of capital, you might want to buy new coins or coins that are only worth a few million so that you gain x100+ when it pumps. Huge risks though and there is a chance of your capital becoming worthless. Maybe allocate $10k to these types of very risky coins for you to become a billionaire.
1645  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how will it be? on: April 13, 2023, 09:46:36 PM
If you do not know how to read TAs which is not even accurate most of the time, it would be easier to start doing a DCA. The most common in DCA is to regularly accumulate weekly or monthly. Some are making their DCA by only buying during dips, but this might be difficult though as we do not know if it happens or how deep the dip will be. Nonetheless, DCA saves you time and effort. Not really free but most likely you won't feel that much stress.

According to the 4-year cycle which is not guaranteed, of course, next year is the start of the bull run. So you better start doing DCA before the price increase further.
1646  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest your money wisely - another lesson, Techie tries to suicide. on: April 13, 2023, 08:38:29 PM
I don't know if the guy is arrogant mixed with ignorance after shamelessly using the retirement fund of his mother unless his mother was the one who presented to use the fund. Taking loans in order to invest? I doubt it is the best way to start investing. The guy clearly did not even have enough experience and knowledge about what he was into. If it is that easy to become rich, there would've been no crisis. We should only risk the money we can afford to lose.

Now that he remains alive. He should change for the better. He needs to work harder in order to pay the debts and the retirement fund for his mother. He better stay optimistic instead of becoming wasted after what happened to him.

1649  Economy / Economics / Re: Without government job we can survive on: April 12, 2023, 01:37:56 PM
How much percentage government jobs in the whole employment industry? 3% or even less? That being said, it would be crazy if we are expecting our governments to hire us once we finished our degrees. There are not enough vacancies for governments to cater to all people that are looking for jobs. In my country, ordinary people without backing from influential people with links in the government have less to zero chance of getting hired. And these are even happening to some private companies.

Starting a business though is better than just being an employee. Despite being a communist country and being under tough conditions many years ago, Chinese people are business minded rather than being employed. So when China turned into a de facto capitalist country, its economy surged.
1650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: April 12, 2023, 01:06:07 PM
I think this is a bigger fight that Jack Catterall though, and maybe it's the right move for him. This fight is in the US, and hopefully Taylor should be exposed there, he is the undisputed 140 lbs and some of us forget that because he chooses to fight in the UK after unification with Ramirez. If he could just chosen a US boxer, it could be a different outcome and maybe he doesn't have to vacate some of his belts and retain them and then defend it to their mandatory. So this is a comeback fight, on the other hand Teo will have a lot of his plate at this new division.

The fight with Jack Catterall is on his hometown of Scotland, I think he just wanted to show his fans after winning all the belts. But Jack is a very difficult opponent for him, maybe as mentioned, he has a hard time making the weight at 140 lbs and it could be one factor in the fight. However, Jack really delivers one of his best performance to almost upset Josh in his hometown. It's almost back fire on him though.

But here it will be in Madison Square Garden if I'm not mistaken so Teo has the advantage because he has a lot of fans here.

So we will see the big mouth Teo here if he can back up his trash talking as he said that he will tear up Taylor more than what Jack did.

Just like what Canelo is doing in his next fight, it will be in his hometown Mexico against Ryder. However, Taylor's fight almost ruin his career as it was a close fight with Jack and as what we have been saying very controversial outcome.

Same with Lopez, against Sandor Martin, he has difficulty against the bigger Martin or the natural 140 lbs. So what's more if he is going to fight the very best of this division which is the former unified champion. Taylor though as fought in the US before so I don't see Teo even if he has the advantage of fans in MSG winning here. And Scots are also fond of their boxers and going to support and maybe some of them are going to travel in the US to see this fight.

I even thought Jack Catterall was an easy fight and who knows he was probably cherry-picked by Josh Taylor for his homecoming fight. Taylor having difficulty making the weight might be the factor. But there are other things to consider, Catterall tried to trash talk and even held the neck of Taylor to get under his skin. Taylor was probably angry and was out of focus. Or the homecoming fight might have pressured him as his local fans were expecting their undisputed champion to showcase his skills.

The same with Canelo, maybe there is also pressure to perform well in his homecoming fight.
1651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF ONLY EVERYONE CAN EASILY ACCEPT CRYPTO on: April 12, 2023, 12:44:39 PM
It's because the banking system and its networks are not perfect. It is subject to human and program errors. There are even hacking incidents here in my country that is happening frequently. Unlike the bitcoin blockchain where everything is clear and honest.

Hopefully, some of these banks and maybe the new banks that are established by the younger and more open generation are the ones to implement bitcoin acceptance. Most of these banks, especially the old ones are in the same stance as governments, and that is to try to stop decentralized systems because they are out of their control.
1652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: April 12, 2023, 12:24:16 PM
"The wagering requirements are put in place so that you don't use our platform as a money laundering service" is what they always say.
It's not a false one. Imagine there's no wagering requirement on deposit. You will be able to use them to break the blockchain link, as they say you can use the casino as mixer. Well, 1x wagering isn't really something big when you play for a little time. It's too easy to chase, though OP's casino has a weird 5x requirement.
Money laundering is a serious problem and it is valid enough for regulators to ask these casinos to comply and make wagering requirements on deposits before allowing them to withdraw. But a 5x wagering requirement is crazy. Most betting sites I encountered only ask me to wager once.

But maybe OP wagered once using very low odds like 1.05. I wonder if very low odds are enough for casinos to allow withdrawals. They might want you to bet 20x with an average odds of 1.05 in order for withdrawals to be allowed.
1653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I created a Discord Channel - https://discord.com/invite/beUm75Ft on: April 12, 2023, 12:04:17 PM
I don't mind following tipsters but I also prefer it to be done here. I am already following a lot of Discord channels in crypto so am still going to miss a lot of these new posts. Another thing is, Telegram seems to be faster and lighter than Discord with fewer complications. Nonetheless, I'll follow this thread and see the feedbacks if the tips are really working well and worth the tail.

NBA playoffs will make betting more exciting. For DOTA 2 fans, Berlin Major is also happening and starts in the last week of this month.
1654  Economy / Economics / Re: Automating your savings will help you save more on: April 12, 2023, 11:44:30 AM
Honestly, It really surprises me why people have difficulty saving money for their future and emergency purposes. Maybe I can understand those people that are earning only enough for their regular expenses although these types of people might belong to the same type of people having difficulty saving knowing they started their own family without enough income and savings.

When I got my first job, someone even told me that I should take a loan and then deposit it in a bank so that I can have my own savings. And I knew some people are doing this and their reason, they cannot save when their whole salaries are given to them in full. They didn't even realize that the interest on bank loans is higher than the interest on deposits.
1655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [UFC] Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira 2 on: April 09, 2023, 08:33:52 AM
What a fight! Alex Pereira was on his way to deal the same damaging strikes on Israel Adesanya before that successful desperate counterattack. I don't know if Poatan lost focus and got over-excited when he was able to connect and then corner Adesanya but he dropped his guards and that cost him that fight. The Style Bender has quicker hands and Poatan paid heavily.

The status is now 1-3 in favor of Poatan. Another match might happen soon. If Poatan somehow managed to win this fight, I don't think there is a fifth fight just like when he mentioned that he is closing the series after his 4th win which failed to materialize.
1656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Thought On Gambling Strategies on: April 09, 2023, 08:12:19 AM
I agree. We can only strategize on winning when we are playing against other gamblers like card games. Casino games are for fun and I don't know what strategies we can make out there when there's the house edge that would favor the house in the long run. Martingale is one of the most popular strategies that gamblers used but I am not really sure if these gamblers are in profit in general since they started the strategy.

In sports betting, we can analyze and have a vast knowledge of the sports we are following, but that's only it, there are no technical strategies that are directly aimed toward beating the house.
1657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy in casinos on: April 09, 2023, 07:52:45 AM
Sometimes it works and sometimes it won't. Casinos wouldn't have survived if Martingale is that effective. Martingale is a strategy that needs deep funds and these casinos have deeper funds than us. The danger of Martingale is if we are playing beyond our budgets. There's also the house edge which will make it more difficult to overcome when we are into a string of losses. So I just stick with my little bets without doing Martingale. Betting is for fun anyways so no hard feelings and no overspending to avoid problems.

1659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you love and enjoy taking risk? on: April 07, 2023, 06:28:25 AM
The future of some altcoins are still very promising. But the lists of altcoins you purchased OP are somewhat questionable, except ETH. Baby Doge is a meme coin that depends on hype, Tron is facing legal problems although I am hoping it can pass its trials soon. And is it really Luno or you meant Luna? Luna is like a dead man walking right now. A pump-and-dump coin until its value goes to zero unless its founder receives a miracle and gets freed.

I am invested more into bitcoin and eth and then some more altcoins like matic and syscoin, etc.
1660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: April 07, 2023, 06:06:07 AM
Meanwhile, Josh Taylor's rival Jack Catterall just signed with Matchroom Boxing. He is looking forward to shaking the dust off being also inactive for a year after delayed negotiations and cancellations to the supposed rematch with Josh Taylor. He also believed Teofimo Lopez will win over Josh. Although his prediction might be biased, he might be annoyed with Josh knowing most of the public thought he won the belts and then comes his inactivity after hoping for the rematch to happen.
Good, I think at this point, whether US or London based fighters, Matchroom has done so much with it's fighter and we have to commend Eddie Hearn. Not sure if I heard it that he will be fighting Prograis next and the schedule is May 27? or his opponent is not name yet?
I agree. Matchroom is probably the biggest promoter right now and it is partnered with DAZN which probably remained to have the biggest budget in boxing. Catterall's next opponent is still unnamed and the fight happens next month. So I believe it is a stay-busy fight after his long layoff.

And about the WBC champion Regis Prograis. I heard its promoter Probellum ceased operations. So it seems like Bob Arum of Top Rank was serious about Probellum's links to the Irish syndicate family, the Kinahans. Richard Schaefer, the boss of Probellum has now assumed as the new president of Anthem Sports Group. Schaefer said that it will continue to promote Nonito Donaire and Eimantas Stanionis. Not mentioning Regis' name means the champ is probably a free agent by now. Hopefully, Regis goes to Top Rank if he wants to mix it up with the big names Taylor, Lopez, Ramirez, and maybe Haney if the plan to move up materializes.

Josh Taylor on the other hand seemed to be too confident despite his inactivity and poor performance in his last fight against Catterall. I can feel that he is belittling Teofimo Lopez's ability to win as he is predicting the big possibility of him taking out Teofimo in the early rounds.
Most likely his confident is based on the fact that he has face tougher opponents in the 140 lbs, like Ramirez, Prograis and even Catterall himself. And Teo has no business in 140 lbs. And base on Teo's fight, I don't think he has carry his power to this new division, just saying.
Yeah, prime for prime at 140, Teofimo Lopez is not even near the level of Josh Taylor. But the inactivity of Taylor and difficulty making the weight which probably leads to his poor performance against Catterall might have made this fight 60-40 or even 55-45.
