1661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 02, 2022, 08:06:41 PM
What the heck! The arrogance of the Brooklyn Nets to fire Steve Nash after being humble and forgiving Kyrie after what he said. Damn!
That's one thing men would not be willing to do and yet he did so that concludes he is really a good coach just to keep the team intact.
Then, he took them to the playoffs which should've been impossible after that stunt by Kyrie, KD, and Ben. The other guy doesn't want to play, while the other feels like he should not play yet and another thinks he is better than his coach.  Grin
It's their loss, I wish Steve Nash will be hired by other teams and prove them wrong. Sweet Revenge.

Let's see if the new coach will make this team great again.

Nets are struggling and they put all the blame to the coach, well, we can understand that as Irving and Durant were real superstars and yet their team can barely win a game. No more excuses now, if they still would not improve, then we can conclude that the players are really the problem, most especially on the superstars.
And, they just lose to Chicago Bulls with those 17 turnovers and lot of offensive rebounds from Chicago. We don't know with Nets management and how they fire Steve but one thing is for sure if they improved then that's fine but if not, superstars should know what they're missing. Team owners/management these days will never hold coaches just because they're not winning. I wish Steve will have a lesson for this, maybe start small again as a coach on some small league then back again at NBA.

There are huge expectations on Nash shoulder when he become the coach of the Nets, for sure. Yes, he is a great player but we have seen some of them becoming coach but not very successful. Perhaps it was because of the team he handled with the Nets or maybe he needs more experienced first. And the NBA has really evolved, the team owners will always blame the coaches first when something went awry just. But at least there's no more pressure on Nash now, he have defended Kyrie and Durant in public, not saying anything bad against those two, class act by Nash and goodluck to him.
1662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: November 02, 2022, 07:32:55 PM

It will be an interesting fight if Casimero will bring his entertaining skills. I mean, he loves the attention he must win the crowd here.

Well, I have no doubt Casimero will make it an entertaining fight, however, it's also important Akaho will be willing to give his 100% and do a toe to toe fight, not like Rigondeaux who just run all night.  Smiley I am not too familiar on his opponent but judging his boxing record, I know this guy is willing to exchange faces with his opponent.

I'm already expecting a heavy fight because both of them has their own goal and only by a way of win can meet those goals they have. The only difference is that Casimero is looking for a good fight where he can bounce back while Akaho is seeing Casimero as a way to get his name known in the international league. What I want to see is Casimero's mind games, I hope we can get some glimpse soon.

Both are banger, so obviously, this will be a war in the ring. And in addition, Casimero is entertaining and very brandish as per his previous fight. And most likely he will do that again in the ring, maybe toy with Akaho in the beginning of the round as if to say that he is not affected by his punches. So yeah even in the fight there will be mind games being played by Casimero and if Akaho is not careful and fall for this trick then definitely, Casimero might have a better chance of winning.
1663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it really possible to quit on these reasons on: October 31, 2022, 04:56:50 AM
Not sure if those could be possible reasons to quit. As for me, I quit or at least stop for a certain period of time to gamble is because I don't have the source of income to begin with. I lose my job and my business didn't prosper way back in 2015.

So I doubt have a choice but to completely stop gambling for many years, or until such time that I have recovered enough. Specially when I join crypto later and made some money thru investments, I was able to get back at my feet slowly. However, I'm not that addicted anymore as compare to previous years. I still play but not that much.
1664  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History of Poker on: October 30, 2022, 05:39:37 AM
Indeed, poker is one of the oldies games in gambling.

Why people enjoyed and keep playing poker? It's because of someone skills, it's a pure skill unlike relying on pure luck on other gambling games. This is also why we have a list of best of the best in poker that is written on history of poker.

Yes, it's your skills vs someone, so in the beginning it's like you against like 5 players in the table. But as the game progresses it might be just 1:1.

Interesting history, although I'm seldom play poker, but I do like it, and we all know, there are a lot of small to big poker tournaments now. Even televised and got a lot of viewers and we have seen variations of it. Even in movies they are being glamorized:

https://filmthreat.com/features/7-movies-about-poker-you-must-see/

Yes, my favorite poker movie is Rounders.

It's really a skill base game and it takes practice and many tournaments to really sharpen your skills. I have a friend who occasionally join Poker tournaments in the US and there was a time that he broke into the top 7 in a tournament.

@mindrust - I like how you put it, yeah, for those who have been playing this game and serious about it, then it could be their lifestyle. I mean even in the pro ranks, you will hear them saying that they don't have anything to do in their life by to play poker.
1665  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why there is so much resistance at $23k price on: October 30, 2022, 05:20:37 AM
Bitcoin market prices have witnessed a lot of resistance and several attempts to make a head up the price of $25k after several weeks of a downtrend, there have been a lot of speculations surrounding the present market situation. But with the right thought and analysis, I am sure if Bitcoin could break the present resistance price moving upward would be that hard anymore.
maybe because we are near recession ? in which the effect will get even longer and bad? I'm not sure for what to come but if you are not ready to face such problem then best to leave the market or be ready for Hodling.

25k isn't even possible in our time now, look at the market, check the movement and you will understand what we are facing here now.
Not near but I heard we are already at it but it's great to see that btc price is recovering a little despite it. We don't know if how long the recession can last. It can be longer or shorter but true bitcoiners won't be affected by that. Many of us are not new here and this was not the first crisis that we experienced which had affected the price, so are we going to be affected with it this time? No. Not those who sell are losing but there are traders who bought after every small dip so it's possible for them to earn even during these times.

Well the market has been hit by the pandemic 2 years ago and we really dip in the $3k'ish and everyone was scared, but it was just 2 months before the block halving so the scare didn't last that long. And for sure we have learn our lessons that time. It will just take time for the market to bounce back despite what going on with the recession and war between Russia and Ukraine.

If we aren't among them and then we need some funds for emergency then it's also not wrong to sell some. I don't really recommend borrowing money but it can be a good option for some.

I'm also against borrowing money to invest, the risk is going to double on you if you do that strategy. You can just start investing small and you will be good in the long run.
1666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bear market Survivals on: October 30, 2022, 02:24:54 AM
Any coin that survives this bear market will do well come the bull season
All the coins are surviving the bear market even though the prices of the coins are dropping sharply. But later, we will see which coin will be able to increase its price step by step when the bull market comes. And we will also see coins that will disappear from the market due to the lack of support from people who have already moved to other coins that have more potential to increase in the future.

And it looks like the coins in the top 50 list will have a chance to stay in the market and maybe the top coin list position will change in the next altcoin season. So you better analyze the coins and buy them now so that you are not too late to buy them.

Yeah, probably in the top 50, maybe it is safe that they will survived this bear market and then it's one of them will position themselves or at least improved their rankings. And there are a lot of good coins in the top 50 that has the potential to let's say break into the top 20 in the next bull run, specially those project that are in the metaverse. I think it will be big in the future.

For the rest, maybe they will just die, I remember I have a couple of them in 2018, and much touted projects. But they didn't last long, not sure if they are still in the ecosystem. But I haven't heard any update on them so I might think they are gone now.
1667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: October 29, 2022, 05:38:24 PM
I dug a little bit more on his background and an article have just made regarding his background because I bet there's a lot of people that are curious about him and his name keeps on popping on the search engines just to know his record because why would the legendary Manny Pacquiao will choose him if he's not that skillful to fight on. I found out that DK YOO is famous in South Korea as he used to do a lot of exhibition fights against known fighters in their country and surely this will be streamed by PPV, no doubt.

And this is DK Yoo's words against the Filipino champ as way to sell the fight more, usual words to market the fight but I do hope he can back his words Grin
Quote
DK Yoo has a bold prediction ahead of his exhibition fight with Manny Pacquiao in December. The Korean believes that he will ‘win with the jab’ against the experienced Filipino southpaw.
The Korean has been working on his jab in the Los Angeles gym and thinks Pacquiao will have no answer for this weapon.
https://asianmma.com/dk-yoo-ill-win-with-the-jab-against-manny-pacquiao/
Pacquiao will give a good lesson for DK Yoo that would make DK Yoo cry and regret what he done before, we're don't see any boxing skill from DK Yoo, IMO he's an amateur even though he's an martial art coach. Not all coach are have a good skills when he jump into a real fight, some people only can teach and share their knowledge.

Expect that because Manny Pacquiao will likely show no mercy against DK Yoo as he also wanted to have an explosive fight in his return in the ring. I reckon that the latter will not last long if Pacquiao will let him taste the true punch of a legendary boxer and to be honest, I think we will see a stoppage on this one because I really don't think that DK Yoo have some talent that can keep up with Manny Pacquiao's skills.

Manny though is known to hold up his power even during his latter part of his boxing days specially after he became a Christian. So most likely, I'm not seeing him giving DK his full power. Maybe few touch up here and there and show his speed with the fans and that's it. Maybe Manny will win by decision in this fight I reckon. Most important thing is that everyone will enjoy this fight, seeing the legendary boxer again.
1668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 29, 2022, 05:13:52 PM
Holger rune seem on fire recently after winning the stockholm Atp against tsitsipas he is dominating his opponents in basel tournaments he have beaten easily, de minaur Humbert and today Rinderknech, it seems that his next opponent is bautista agut, another one in a good shape i think he is a little bit favourite to win i expect it to be a war my bet is on him and alcaraz to make it to the final.

Yes, another young gun that we have to look at specially in the last couple of games here, he was really on fire destroying his tough opponent. Now he will be facing Bautista-Agut in the semifinals.

On the other hand, Alcaraz vs FAA, this is gong to be a classic. I wouldn't be surprised if the match goes on another three sets with tie break in between. But let me try to beat on FAA here, at 2.08 odds, is not that bad and I think it's a value bet for me.

That's not a bad price for Felix AA, I see on Rollbit he is 1.99 now and Alcaraz is at 1.83,
very close so it might be better to go with Alcaraz purely on being #1?

also a consideration is that Felix has a great service game if it goes to tie breaks.....

In the other Semi final Rune v Batista Agut I'm going with Rune. As Ratash says he seems to
be on fire alright, I have him at 1.55.

Good bet guys, FAA easily bet Alcaraz in 2 sets, 6-3, 6-2. I never thought that this will be score, not sure what happened to Alcaraz in this game, but it seems that FAA has got his numbers and didn't allow Alcaraz to take control of the match.

While on the other Semi final, Rune was pushsed by Bautista-Agut to 2 tie set breaks, but it was Rune who has the next and survived. So we won't see two young players in the finals or at least a Alcaraz vs Rune.

So congrats on your bet.
1669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: October 29, 2022, 04:47:53 PM
But what about those pictures of Lomachenko on frontline? Fully equiped and with a weapon? Just a picture for mass media, or he really did take some action? I think it is impossible to be in a civilian army and parallel do boxing training, later prepare for a big fight and wont ne nervous on a day fight.

We can only speculate, but if we will look at it, he supposed to fight Kambosos next, but it was cancelled because of the war and he chooses to stay in his country.

So maybe he really did take the uniform and try to defend his native country, similar to Usyk. Perhaps he is still thinking of the war and his family back then that could impact him negatively or make it as a motivation to win against Ortiz.
1670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bull started? on: October 28, 2022, 06:35:15 PM
$28k is a very high expectation this month and November. October is coming to an end so that's unlikely but November we face a rate hike that I believe will drive us down rather than help us hit new highs. I don't expect too much from this rally, it looks more like a trap than a strong rally.
I wrote "go on for 2 weeks", not this month. The price +40% to now, that is before the $30k. If that happen, then you could say a little louder: its a bullrun. I wouldn't say with these prices that we are back in a bullrun. If you see rising prices and big news over many weeks, with great  acceptance should increase. Then a new trend and the chances be good for a bullrun.

Not sure, maybe it's quite high for November to reach that price. Yes, October is ending, could be in positive note, but isn't it this is the price like 4 months ago? $20k'ish? so we are just back from where we have been in the previous months. So for me, there is no bull run yet, even if we reach $28k. This is still a bearish cycle to me so the price could still nosedive next. So it's better not to put too much expectation at this so called rally.
1671  Economy / Speculation / Re: Purchased at $23,500, when should I start to panic? When should I average down? on: October 28, 2022, 06:21:38 PM
Unfortunately for the OP, the last several months, we don't see any movement at all. Although now the price was over $20k++ but still very far from his purchase of $23,500. Nevertheless, if the OP is really that serious in investing here, maybe a good DCA (if he has used it already), could be a good strategy to offset his previous buys. And this might sound be redundant, but this is another lessons learn here in crypto market specially on how we enter the market and what should we do or what will be our mindset in this kind of situation, just to remain calm and continue to invest and hold.
1672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terence Crawford vs David Avanesyan December 10 on: October 28, 2022, 11:29:54 AM
Yes, it's clearly a duck on Crawford side, Ennis could be a good test for him, has power in both hands and rising in ranks.

I guess though he is just looking for a fight that will make him busy this year and not really to defend his belt against worthy opponents like Ennis and Ortiz Jr. Most likely the negotiations with Spence could be back next year after this fight or if Spence will go to the same route of having a get busy fight as well.

Jaron Ennis could be the worst enemy for Crawford these days because the latter haven't had any fights for almost a year now, this November marks his 1 whole year without getting a fight. Ennis is touted to be the next or much better than Terence Crawford because of his style in the ring and note that he is a knockout specialist too with a 90% KO ratio, that is why he is considered a much dangerous opponent for Bud.

Ennis is making some name for himself in this division and could be avoided by either Crawford or Spence at least for this year. Ennis could be the future of this division no doubt. And if both of them go up in weight then chances are Ennis could fight for at least for one of the vacated belt.

Although I'm not sure why he didn't choose to fight Vergil Ortiz Jr. because he is a much better opponent if Crawford just wanted to keep his shape and form before he fights Spence later next year.

Another good boxer, but I guess Crawford see this fight as another difficult fight for him that's why he skip Ortiz Jr as well. So he take a safe route for now and fight David just to keep his active this year.
1673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling, tourism and legal gambling age for gamblers around the world. on: October 28, 2022, 10:14:19 AM
we have the same thoughts about Vacation and about gambling activities , and besides if we are going to a vacation at least we will be with our love ones that will surely wanted to explore the special places in that said country and not to explore casinos that there are also in our own country  Grin

but I want to have that thing , treating gambling as a Job? maybe I need to extend my interest in gambling and not just a place to enjoy and a bonus to win.
Even going to a vacation with your family, if you really want to pay a visit to a casino, you can do it. After your tour within the day, and while others are falling asleep.

You can do the exploration or visit during at night for which most are visiting after the tiring day and from their day jobs.

Just don't forget to set yourself with a limit and you still have some nice places to visit by tomorrow so, you still have funds by that time.

Ahhhh of course the night time is the perfect time to visit such places.
I remember one time when me and my wife (she was my fiancée that time) visit the huge city and I can't help my self but astonished by the night lights that surrounds to one of the most prestigious casino in the country.
I wanted to pay a visit, but time was not on our side that time.
A lot of tourists pays a worthy visit in this hotel/casino/resort.  A perfect spot for a family tour right? The casino only allows 21 years and above. So, the kids will enjoy the resort while you're having fun inside the casino lol.

Well for example if you go to Las Vegas and book a hotel then definitely you can just walk with your families and be astonished with the night lights and maybe visit some casinos along the way. It doesn't necessary you have to gamble or something, maybe you and your wife or with someone else can go inside.

However, if you have kids then you to put them to sleep in the hotel first or have someone older of the kids to watch over the younger one. A good 1-2 hours of visit to a casino is not that bad and you can go back to hotel afer that. At least the experience is part of the travel,  Grin
1674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling techniques on: October 28, 2022, 09:39:55 AM
I normally do this with dice games and if it played correctly its profitable.

Can you explain how can we even play it correctly?

We can't influence the winning chance there. That technique you are saying is the easy way to lose money.

Once you win, you will recover all the amount you lost.

The question is, can your bankroll still afford to bet after losing 10x consecutively? Calculate how much you need to bet on that losing streak.

I can't imagined how it easy for you to say that without considering the factors why a continuous losing streak is always possible to happen in dice.

that is up to you! You will need to decide wether you have enough bankroll to apply this technique. basically, if you keep doubling, when you win, you will recover from  the losses. of course that there is always luck involved but this is a strategy that needs to be planned, as there will always be the losing streaks which can make you lose all your bankroll. In this case, my advice is to do the math a check what is the minimum bet you will have touse for he technique to work. You should be prepared to lose at least 7 times in a row, so that's up to you to decide what will be the suited bet to keep up with this strategy and still earn money.

Yes, that is the bare minimum 7 winning streak and you will have a good run and win.

I remember one of my baccarat run with this kind of strategy, and it really feels good that you have lady luck at your side and that table roll more than 7 consecutive player bet. And I was lucky to ride on that huge run. But then again, as we all know, it's the timing which table you are going to sit and definitely luck should be on your side with this martingale strategy.
1675  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach 45k before this year ends. on: October 27, 2022, 12:42:29 PM
If OP was going to start being correct it would be now.   We are breaking upwards with a 2nd positive daily bar above price action which has contained BTC price for a long time.   All it has to do to get the higher prices is build this kind of momentum to take apart any resistance above.  It can happen, we've seen it before even after quite serious negative set backs.  My own take is after a period of no price movement, suddenly moving off can release alot of interest and trades that otherwise were lying dormant.
I dont actually think we get 45k so quickly but nows the time to consider the bet upwards at least if not that magnitude exactly.

Yes, when we thought that this is not possible, now in the last 48 hours we have seen a different trend that we have to think that $45k might be possible if this run is going to continue till the end of the year.

If not the end of the year, at least in this bear market, we could have seen a recovery to this level and maybe the price going down hard again to a new lows before eventually the bitcoin halving in 2024. Let's observed this break out run, maybe we will hit $25k till November and see if the market will continue to react till December and end the year with at least $30k in the bag or higher.
1676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: October 27, 2022, 11:18:57 AM

Ring rust, everyone has to go to this. It's just a matter on how boxers are going to shake it off. And most likely, when Casimero's experience, he might likely start slow in this fight but eventually find his rhythm and this could end up to be a very good fight to watch as this could be war in his first fight at 122 lbs.

Nah, Casimero understands that a win here is his ticket for the next big fight, he was off for a while but he is still hungry for a win since he did not actually lose in a fight, he just got stripped with his belt which I believe he regretted his mistake. His comeback fight is something we should not miss to see if that fire in him is still there as he needed that to have a chance to face Inoue in the future.

I'm not saying that he is not hungry or what, but he has been out in the ring for sometime and I will say that he wanted to stay active and force himself to fight this year even if it is close to the end of the year. It's because generally boxers doesn't want to have ring rust, so it's understandable on his part to fight late.

Of course, he knows that this is very important to him, so if ever he experience some ring rust, he just have to overcome and shake it because he can't afford to lose this one in his comeback fight in a new division. And maybe his target is still Inoue specially Naoya wanted to go up after his fight against Butler.
1677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Countries that are Legal and Illegal in gambling on: October 27, 2022, 10:10:22 AM
I'm not sure if the list is updated, as per the title of the first link, it says 2018.

So yeah, probably there could be some countries not included or missed in the list that has been quoted or something. Nevertheless, there are some countries that are very strict are far as gambling, but who knows, maybe there are some who are trying to circumvent it to VPN, but the risk is there.

At least though for the majority of us whose countries allow gambling, we are somewhat very lucky that we can do play without the risk of being caught.
1678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jermell Charlo vs Tim Tszyu - Jan 28, 2023 on: October 27, 2022, 09:10:12 AM
Charlo by decision for me.

If what others have been saying that stylistically this is going to be a tough match for Charlo then it might go full 12 rounds. Tim might be determined to take the belt and so he will fight on whatever capacity, or maybe fight it dirty and see how Charlo will react or adjust to him roughing and making Charlo not comfortable. That is the only way that Tim could win. But if Charlo adjusted, with the whole fight in hugging, then he might win the rounds with his power and caught the incoming Tszyu with some good potshots like Floyd Mayweather does for fighters trying to come forward against him, straight or left hook.
1679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bull started? on: October 27, 2022, 08:40:52 AM
Just of yesterday I have seen a strong move of the ethereum gaining about 10 percent from the previous price and I was triggered to know if the bull about to kick off.
What do you smells from it?

I don't smell anything, almost all of the crypto, including bitcoin is still like -70%++, so that is not a bull run. If though the market will have a run up to at least $50k this year, then maybe we can call ourselves in the middle of the bull run. Or as others pointed out, the cycle has change and that the 4 year old cycle will no longer holds true as the crypto narrative has change.

So don't celebrate yet, we will have to wait will be up to us till this year. In any case, it's good to see the prices going up on some major altcoins like Ethereum. Bitcoin getting back to once it's support price at $20k.
1680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are privacy coins already dying on: October 26, 2022, 01:40:46 PM
Monero (XMR) was the real daddy. It still works exactly as intended but regulatory pressures on exchanges have killed any chances it ever had of really going to the moon.

Such a shame because that coin is so good. You can still use it successfully but it can’t grow as it should now.

True, it's because of the pressures being put on not only top exchanges but everyone that have Monero in their listing. So it's really hard to go against that mandate. Monero still exist up to this day and there could be individuals using it as intended.

But as far as the growth as far as investment goes? I highly doubt that Monero will be the go to investment or any other privacy coin for that matter.

And I guess we still have a choice to use it or not.
