1661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 07, 2023, 05:42:29 AM
4 losses in a row and Jazz is officially out of the play-in picture now. Mavericks have 2 games left, against Bulls and Spurs. Bulls guaranteed their 10th place so it's very possible for Mavs to win both games. Thunder have only one game left and they'll play with Grizzlies. Normally it'd be a though game but we probably see big rotation before play-off so Thunder may win this one. Last place for play-in will be determined in last games literally. I'm okay with both teams, either Thunder or Mavs for play-in but I don't think they'll get a spot in play-off.

It's sad that the Jazz is out for good. But it was a good season for them in spite of being branded as a rebuilding team. The team has too many future draft picks in the coming years. Lauri Markkanen showed star potential and hopefully, the management will try to start making the team competitive otherwise he is wasting his stay in Utah.

I want to see Dallas enter the play-ins rather than OKC. The Pelicans without Zion and the Timberwolves are inconsistent teams and are still beatable especially since Dallas has more playoff runs than these teams. I am not sure what happens if in case of a tie. Is head-to-head the first option? OKC is 2-1 against the Mavs so they are most likely to qualify then.
1662  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin continue to rise on: April 07, 2023, 05:20:46 AM
If you are holding real bitcoins and not contracts from leverage trading, why not just hold your bitcoins long term? But if you are feeling 50/50 and uneasy, you can sell half of your holdings. Or you can even sell your capital and HOLD your profit. I am sure you will be feeling relieved of the stress if your capital is already safe from possible losses.

$50k is possible but I won't bet that it happens this year. Next year and 2025 are the earliest times I am confident that bitcoin won't just reach $50k but $100k or even more.
1663  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Predictions? on: April 07, 2023, 04:58:32 AM
If bitcoin reaches $35k within this month, I am still doubtful that it starts the real bull run that everyone is anticipating. There will be corrections all the way. Bitcoin may reach $45k this year but I am not sure if it can stay that high. I am more confident that a bull run occurs next year due to bitcoin halving. Now I will just continue my DCA. I still think that $20k is possible in the next months to come depending on how high bitcoin will pump this year. If bitcoin can reach $35k this month, the correction might happen in the following month at $25k something.
1664  Economy / Economics / Re: If the dollar/fiat was worthless! on: April 07, 2023, 04:35:40 AM
In terms of a big disaster like a nuclear war or a big calamity that destroyed the internet and electricity, things will obviously return back to the old days like the barter exchange. If you want a sack of potatoes and there are no more governments running effectively and there is destruction everywhere, I will not accept your dollar for sure. You need to pay for the goods with something valuable as well, maybe gold or other goods like chickens as you mentioned. I am not sure how bitcoin survives without internet. But I have a feeling that soon, all parts of the earth will be covered by internet even during huge disasters, the use of satellites will be further enhanced. Bitcoin will become more valuable by then even if the US dollar becomes worthless or with very low value.
1665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 13) on: April 06, 2023, 12:33:19 PM
When I first heard this, I was laughing because this seems like an inexperienced fighter with a good record in order to hype the fight. But at the same time, it is fine because I do not want to see Casimero becoming inactive if he is really serious about becoming a world champion again. And then I checked the 4 sanctioning bodies of boxing, the WBO is actually ranking Filipus Nghitumbwa as #10 which means this is an opportunity for Casimero to move up in rankings especially in the WBO if he is able to dispose of this Namibian in an impressive fashion.

So far Casimero is ranked WBO #5, WBC #8, and IBF #14. Nghitumbwa is WBO #10 and WBC #25. If all goes well, Casimero should be able to get his title shot next year for a chance to become a 4 division champion.

By the way, guys, WBA and IBF champion Murdojon Akhmadaliev will defend his belts this weekend on DAZN against Marlon Tapales. Casimero might face the winner of this fight or the Inoue-Fulton winner by next year.

1666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin usage in crime activity. on: April 06, 2023, 12:01:33 PM
The first thing that came to mind was that Fiat is not crime free, which means it is still used by criminals in transacting, which means it has loopholes and they can still get caught, and the same is true with Bitcoin, they just use it because they can easily send money online from it unline in banks, where you can easily see it, but being anonymous, I believe the FBI is already tracking it down, as you are not 100% anonymous on this because you still need to send it to b

I don't know why some people will consider bitcoin as the preferred money in criminal activities. If criminals are able to utilize bitcoin for over a billion dollars of transactions, then how much more criminals were able to transact using fiat money. At least bitcoin transactions are trackable thru an honest blockchain whereas fiat transactions especially cash aren't trackable at all. Billionaires, millionaires, businessmen, politicians, and companies can use as dummies to transact illegal transactions.

All things created with good intentions can be used for criminal activities as well. Pencils are made for writing and drawings but someone can use them to kill someone. Cheesy
1667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA unders/overs tips on: April 06, 2023, 11:41:28 AM
Sorry guys I'm staying here because I would like to keep track of my record with a model I've created:)

4-2

Dallas Mavericks v Sacramento Kings under 245.5

Milwaukee Bucks v Chicago Bulls under 231.5

New Orleans Pelicans v Memphis Grizzlies over 232.5

Since it's been over a week already that I haven't had a bet, I will copy your 3 picks. Good luck with the bets.

By the way, it would be better if you also add the odds gained/lost. Because tracking your win-loss at 4-2 alone does not reflect your gains and losses due to the house edge. Let's say the odds of your previous bets were at 1.85 then it means you are at a profit of 1.40 odds/points. This is just a suggestion so no pressure anyways as you might also have different amounts per bet.

0.85*4=3.40 winnings
1*2=2 losses
3.40-2 =1.40 net gain.

Well yeah I could add up the units if thats what people want.

Nice hit with nets over @danherbias07

7-2 so far
Philadelphia 76ers vs Miami Heat: under 221.5
Utah Jazz vs Oklahoma City Thunder over 234.5

Congratulations mate! That was a solid 3-0. Thanks as well for sharing your tips here. I am tailing again but only the Philadelphia 76ers vs Miami Heat this time. It seems like the oddsmakers just realized Jazz vs Thunder over 234.5 is a steal. I only have 236.5, 237.5, and 238.50 here. GLHF for these games.

Standing: 3-0
Gains(+)/Losses(-): +2.66

It is up to you if you include the units in your tracks mate. And with regards to the same thread that is already existing, to avoid possible deletion from an admin, maybe you just simply change the title of the thread to "ElectraBets NBA unders/overs tips". This would clearly distinguish your thread from the other existing thread.
1668  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your take on the price? on: April 06, 2023, 11:21:59 AM
I am not that affected by the swings of bitcoin nowadays. I just started another DCA last December and it is doing good so far. If bitcoin drops, I am happy because my next buy will be cheaper which means lowering my average cost. And if bitcoin increases, I am seeing the green gains in my portfolio tracker and it feels good. Bitcoin will continue to have swings and some of them might be big swings but still, I am optimistic that its price will be better than last year. Halving is coming, so we expect a better year.

I also started accumulating last year, and compared to my average purchase price, I was profitable. But if you give me one wish, I would expect bitcoin to fall back rather than recover. I don't expect bitcoin to recover or a bull season will come soon, I want to buy a lot and accumulate bitcoin at the lowest possible price. I'm the complete opposite of the OP, I don't see any anxiety when bitcoin goes down, that's more interesting to me than a bull market.

Lol! To be honest, I have the same choice as you, if I were to decide which direction bitcoin is headed. I mean, it is more profitable to us if bitcoin dips since it will lower down our average price. My conservative assumption on the bitcoin price this coming 2025 is $100k minimum. This means if I continue to purchase bitcoin at $28k above, I might not be able to x4 my ROI with my conservative target. Anyways, maybe I'll just compensate for it with my altcoins which I also expect to grow a lot during a bull run.

Anyways, at least we are free from anxiety about the bitcoin price whether it goes up or down.
1669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 06, 2023, 10:59:04 AM
Having a few more days to rest before the playoffs start, and also the fact that they would be facing the third instead of first or second is the difference maker. If Lakers somehow manage to get to sixth spot, they will have a few days clear schedule, and they can rest a lot during that period, lets face it they got injured and tired so much during the last few weeks of the season. Plus Kings may have done well this season so far, but when they face Lebron that may change, we have seen him beat many good teams on playoffs before, and Kings is not a team that is been in playoffs for a long time, so it will be a wild matchup for sure. I guess this is why they want to get that spot, not saying they will, but there is a difference between 6th and 7th that is huge.

I also see the Sacramento Kings as the weakest of the top 4 in the western conference. There are still 2 to 3 games remaining but the Kings will probably remain in the 3rd spot. But it won't be easy for these low-ranked teams to position themselves as 6th since these teams are too tight with each other. The Lakers cannot relax either as losing the last 2 games might drop them to rank 9 which is very difficult. The Lakers will enjoy home games in its last 2 games but it is facing the Suns and the Jazz. The Suns might take the game seriously in order to retain its 4th spot which is a home-court advantage during the playoffs. The Jazz on the other hand is still alive and it needs to win 2 or 3 of its last remaining games for a chance to enter the play-ins.
1670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: April 06, 2023, 10:36:30 AM
That is the downside of this industry, they got the four major bodies to help both camps settle and materialize a fight, and then give the people the entertainment they wanted but instead, these bodies are on the payroll of some influential promoters.

No choice but to go with the flow since boxers have no full control over what they want.

It's been always clear that building a legacy is always associated with the business.

Big Promoters are the ones capable of managing a big fight and that's why they are really an important piece regardless of the boxing politics they are with.

The presence of DAZN, Showtime, and ESPN where each of these networks has exclusive deals with various promoters somehow affected big fights and supposed mandatories. Although they did create a lot of opportunities in general as these networks established their own superstars. But fighters from different networks especially the big names have difficulties making fights because of the exclusive deals. Unlike before when HBO and Showtime are open to any promoters and fighters. The 4 sanctioning bodies especially the WBA and WBC are more into business as we rarely see these organizations issue a mandatory from different networks to avoid possible issues.
1671  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much return are we expecting next bull run? on: April 05, 2023, 12:25:15 PM
I just checked my crypto portfolio (excluding stable coins) and I noticed bitcoin is already 62% of my whole portfolio. I am now making a weekly and a monthly DCA on bitcoin and it will continue for at least this whole year. I am also starting to accumulate altcoins slowly as I felt like they are already on the move. I am very conservative when it comes to predictions, especially on bitcoin. Bitcoin is probably at least $100k in 2025 so it's like 400%. Altcoins however are the ones to soar very high during big bull runs. I expect my altcoins to be more than 50% of my portfolio come the year 2025.

By the way, I am observing and waiting for the Shanghai upgrade of Ethereum. There is a big chance that it will drop in price and it is a great opportunity to buy more if it happens. My Eth prediction in 2025 is $10k.

1673  Economy / Speculation / Re: why Bitcoin Dumping ? on: April 05, 2023, 11:19:14 AM
These newbies are always the ones that will get hurt when bitcoin takes a little dip and they are also the ones that wanted to buy bitcoin cheaply. I know some newbies are still waiting for bitcoin to drop to $12k or something and it most likely not happening. Now bitcoin is at $28k and it might continue to increase slowly in the next months to come. So for the newbies out there that are waiting to buy bitcoins cheap, you better start your won DCA right now while we are still a year away from the halving.

1675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convince a sceptical person to buy Bitcoin ? on: April 05, 2023, 10:33:27 AM
I know there are still a lot of people that are skeptical about bitcoin but I don't think I need to convince them. For what? A lot of my family members and friends talked to me about bitcoin and crypto as a whole, especially in the past years. I can only explain to them the basics regarding its decentralized manner and its blockchain, I do not have to go further because it is up to them if they were interested to go deeper, the internet is available everywhere. I don't want people to blame me if ever their investments fail. Because whether we like it or not, most of them are only interested in the profit side.

Happy April Fools mga kabayan! More power satin dito. Sana meron na tayo bagong merit source this year.

Cheesy
1678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: April 05, 2023, 09:04:30 AM
Meanwhile, Josh Taylor's rival Jack Catterall just signed with Matchroom Boxing. He is looking forward to shaking the dust off being also inactive for a year after delayed negotiations and cancellations to the supposed rematch with Josh Taylor. He also believed Teofimo Lopez will win over Josh. Although his prediction might be biased, he might be annoyed with Josh knowing most of the public thought he won the belts and then comes his inactivity after hoping for the rematch to happen.

Josh Taylor on the other hand seemed to be too confident despite his inactivity and poor performance in his last fight against Catterall. I can feel that he is belittling Teofimo Lopez's ability to win as he is predicting the big possibility of him taking out Teofimo in the early rounds.
1679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ARB a rising star ? on: April 03, 2023, 03:40:13 PM
Arbitrum is already a promising project worth a billion or billions soon. I actually thought the price of ARB to be like cents 75 once the dumplings are done so I can buy and then sell at a projected $1 to $2 short term. I did not expect the price to remain solid at $1+ but maybe it will drop once the crypto market becomes bearish. About its long-term price, ARB will be worth billions by 2025. Maybe a $5 minimum, but of course, it will also depend on how the team will use and dispose of the treasury funds which is more than 4 billion ARBs.
1680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 03, 2023, 03:15:25 PM
You're a little lost mate or maybe you meant 135. Ryan fought Tagoe and Fortuna last year, so he is nearly a year inactive. After this, Oscar will be more focused on grooming Vergil Ortiz, Jaime Mungia, and his other potential prospects of becoming superstars since Ryan is ready to leave boxing after earning $5 to $20 million unless he scores an upset. Cheesy

Lol, i'm leaning towards an upset here when they start negotiating for this fight as Ryan Garcia is the bigger fighter here which could give trouble to Tank Davis but with that rehydration clause i don't think that King Ryan could impose his size here as he will be only taller not bigger and upset is a slim possibility and Oscar knows that because he experienced that scenario too when he fought our very own Manny Pacquaio.

But i don't think this would be the end of Garcia's career if he lost, he could be the gate-keeper as he will be exposed on this one and potentially could earn 1-2 million USD per fight if being called out to fight champions hehe.
I also want Ryan to win an upset. He is a product of careful matchmaking by GBP and he just blew it all by being inactive and agreeing to all of Tank's Mayweatherish demands. I doubt the Haney-Loma winner or any of the champions at 140 will offer him a fight if he losses this one badly and of course, he won't be getting a million too. He needs to get back in the win column if he wants to get his first title shot.

...since Ryan is ready to leave boxing after earning $5 to $20 million unless he scores an upset. Cheesy
Interesting... Is that a speculation or a fact? Huh
We can only speculate unless we can see the actual results. But I will bet that if Garcia will be badly outclassed and gets KO'd by Tank, he will be out of boxing. Maybe he will consider returning in a year or two return if he becomes financially broke otherwise he is good to go.

In a PPV fight, there are no facts unless all buys are accounted for. Ryan is popular even outside of boxing and Tank has followers from the PBC hood. So I guess Ryan can easily bank a minimum of $5 million here.
