I don't see any mention of an S6, just an S2 to S5 upgrade kit.
I don't see any mention of an S5, just an S2 replacement PCB drawing 0.4 W/Gh. Edit: This doesn't even necessarily mean upgrade kit, it might simply mean the successor to the S2 (and in turn S4). Not a S5 per se, but to S5 level boards / tech. Its certainly not an S6 though, which will be a S2 / S4 style miner [non official].

My Laptop has 3 USB Ports.
No other Miner connected!!! I have tried other Computers!!! ( Driver shows up, cgminer: no devices detected ) ( i'm wiriting this just because you think i'm stupid and do all wrong )
Even on Ports where the U3 never was connected zdiag 2.1.1 shows:
cp2102 USB to ....
Driver WinUSB (v6.1.7600.16385) --> Driver WinUSB (v6.1.7600.16385)
Reinstall Driver
I HAVE REINSTALLED THE DRIVER!!!
cgminer 4.9.1 --benchmark still No devices detected!
Do you get the same in non benchmark mode? Mine does work on 20150103 or 20141222 in benchmark, yet does on both normally. Its possible its because --benchmark doesn't *appear* to use the same "prod it to make sure its a U3" on startup.

Are (some of) these problems peculiar to Windows ? Would people be better off purchasing the new Raspberry Pi 2 (quadcore Arm 7 + 1GB memory)
Yes and no. Windows drivers can always be annoying but generally once its working it should just continue to work. The same could be said on another platform. These have also been tested significantly more on Windows so we tend to know what will go wrong.

I read back a few pages looking for information about changing the fans on the S5's but was unable to find any information so I am starting the discussion over. I received my 2 S5's yesterday and my parents promptly said "no" to the noise going on in the backroom from them. So now I need to replace the fans and my thinking was just to put 2 of them on either end like the S3 and call it good. I noticed on the controller for the S5, there are 2 4 pin slots so I figure this should be fine, but wanted to double check. I am thinking of running out and getting these today... http://www.microcenter.com/product/423765/Air_Series_AF120_LED_Red_Quiet_Edition_Twin_Packand putting one on either end of each S5, but they are 3 pin connectors, should that be fine or should I find ones with 4 pin connectors (I thought 3 pin can plug into 4 pin slots?) Also the airflow is 52.19 CFM, should that be sufficient to cool an S5? Thanks in advance, I appreciate all feedback They should run fine with two of those fans using the 3 pin connector, but you won't have speed control. Depending on your ambient you might have to throttle down the speed quite a bit to keep the miner cool. Don't use the quiet editions, they really are rather week and I doubt they'll be sufficient at any sort of ambient. The SP120 performance editions are much better suited as they're moderately high pressure but still at an acceptable noise level. I use them all the time to 'silence' various miners without trashing their cooling [Without affiliate] [With affiliate]. There are also PWM versions if you think you'll need it in the future [Without affiliate] [With affiliate]. For anyone looking to put slightly quieter fans (that still get the job done) on their S5, here's a dang good deal on a pair of Delta AFB-1212SHE. This seems to be a popular choice for reducing dBs while still keeping temps under the 60C target. http://www.ebay.com/itm/191472588964?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITTwo fans for 20 bucks shipped. Not sure what's up with the 4-pin connecter, something looks off about it. I just placed an order and will update when they come in. Hope this helps someone. Even slightly is a stretch, those things are vicious 4000 rpm fans [1.6A], I've got 6 of them on a HashCoins Ares and combined they're the loudest fans I've had on a mainstream miner.

Hi, BITMAIN,
We noted that AntMiner S5's are having some minor issues when mining some particular low-diff and fast-work restart coins. Users which are mining on our NiceHash/WestHash SHA256 pool are seeing up to 5% rejects in particular periods of time when these miners are working on low-diff and fast-work restart altcoin orders. Could you let your technicians to look into this and provide some patch in the future firmware? Could this be due to too weak controller not being able to process all shares when working on low-diff and fast-work coins?
Kind regards, NiceHash
What do you consider low diff? As miners get more and more powerful, setting appropriate difficulties becomes more and more important. For example attempting to run a miner at 128 which is appropriate at 2048 would create 20x the load on the controller.

Can anyone tell me what the f* going on with my S5.Its started to beeping this afternoon and keep going on. I'm really over with this stupid rip off bitmain tech company. They dont have proper user manual. And no one knows what are the leds mean on the side, on the top. I'm getting more and more random beeping. Can I send it back and they reimburse Me?
switch the PSU off, wait 20 sec, switch it back on. once you will be able to connect to miner in gui check if you have jan 7 firmware as it is more stable. as OP said, beeping simply means that you lost internet connection to your miner. it happens, no biggie.
As others have said, beeping is just a notification that you've lost connection to the pool / internet and its sitting idle. Restart the miner and check your settings, posting them here if you need help. You can also turn the beeping off. A full user manual is provided by Bitmain here. If you need any help, let us know.

I got a brand new U3 straight from Bitmain over amazon. Have been fiddling with it all night and can't seem to get it recognized by CGminer. I have done all the steps and don't know what else to do? Any ideas would be helpful.
My zadig says the Driver loaded on "CP2102 USB to UART Bridge Controller" is WinUSB (v6.1.7600.16385)
I downloaded CGMiner 4.9.0 and made a notepad file with this in it... cgminer.exe -o us1.ghash.io:3333 -u DebitMe.U3 -p 123 and saved it as a .bat file in the cgminer folder.
My Devices and Printers folder shows the unit as "CP2102 USB to UART Bridge Controller"
When I start CGMiner it says "No Devices Detected"
What am I missing? It seems to be recognized by my computer, but just not by CGMiner.
Maybe start CGminer THEN plug the USB in That's how CGminer worked for the little gridseeds,at least for me Yeah that's one option, apparently hotplug has a better chance of detecting devices. Are you plugged in via USB 1.1, 2.0 or 3.0? Are you putting it through a hub at all? Ok, I can try that when I get home. I have tried it on my main desktop through USB 3.0 and 2.0, then on my little netbook that I used to run all of the AsicMiner USB devices, which should be 2.0. I am not using it through a hub, I can try that too as well though. Don't use USB 3, it uses different drivers / something else that usually prevents it from working. Powered hub can help with dropout issues as there is a reasonable amount of 5V load.

Soldering is easier than you think on capacitors with pins flayed like that and nice big contacts. You just need to get a small dab of solder on each side.
Perhaps I will revisit that; if current solution doesn't hold in place. So far the capacitator is being help in place with some epoxy material; and the boards are registering. If I use BE controller only for that Prisma; then all boards appear now (on that Stratum page). They even show that they are mining at about 1500 gh/s total.. However, I'm pretty sure my configuration is correct for my pool etc; and the pool (Bitminter) will continue to show 0 gh/s while the miner shows otherwise (on Stratum). I've also tried configuring without BE controller as a daisy chain on the other Prisma (RPI - Minera). The primary miner will pick up on Minera even though they are daisy chained; all unique dip switch settings. The most it will perform at is about 1500 gh/s (or the performance of one Prisma); should be around 3000+ gh/s.. Do you really only have 1 BE controller and 1 USB adapter between 3 units?

S6 yeah!
I wonder if these new S6 blades will have a mod for the S4 not just the S2
so s6 is in the testing if the price is right, i might upgrade an s2 or 2
I don't see any mention of an S6, just an S2 to S5 upgrade kit. Awesome stuff..
Now on a totally different note..
Seriously, how many freaking festivals/Holidays do the chinese people have!? - and every time, they seem to shut Down the entire country for a week.
They do it better than us, EVERYONE goes on holiday at the same time in the same few weeks of the year so its coordinated.

the results below fan is 1100 rpm quiet but if you ssh in and set it slower the unit is still cool enough.
Alternatively you can just set the max fan RPM to 30 [or around there for 1200rpm] if you know ambient is going to remain sensible. Ie don't cap the RPm off then put it in a 50C farm Either way, 1100rpm is quieter than a Cube. I've missed this.

What is being auctioned? Why?Its recently been brought to my attention that the 'pool information' section within my setup guides may have been unfair as only a small number of pools were arbitrarily chosen and displayed. In order to fix this, I will be holding monthly public auction between the major pools in order to decide which pools are displayed and in what order. Ad Format- There are 3 pool slots for sale.
- Final bidding order matters - the top bid will receive the first slot, the middle bid the second slot and the lowest bid the third slot.
- The ads are to last from the 1st March to the 31st March, during which impressions are projected to be 500,000 per slot.
- This traffic is as targeted as can be - to those who have just bought miners and are looking to set them up and direct them towards a pool.
- Pool slots feature a direct registration link and quick startup information.
Auction Format- Auction will run for approximately 15 days, to end at midnight London time / 3PM PDT / 6PM EDT on Saturday 28th February.
- Post your bid in this thread stated in BTC. If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first will have his slot filled first.
- Bidding starts at BTC 1.0. All bids must be evenly divisible by BTC 0.2.
- Only pre-approved pools on the below list are accepted, if your pool is not on the list please contact me.
- You must pay for your slots within 48 hours of receiving the payment address. Otherwise your slots may be sold to someone else. I will send you the payment information via forum PM from this account ("dogie", user ID 87869). You might receive false payment information from scammers pretending to be me. They might even have somewhat similar usernames. Be careful.
I reserve the right to reject bids, even days after the bid is made. You must pay for your slots within 24 hours of receiving the payment address otherwise your slots may be sold to someone else. Why do you need to send messages with it? I'm not sure it's gonna work with the PM limits anyway.
Messages would be made to enrolled users for example when they have been enrolled, paid or if there was an issue with the user. Can't you just use a bot like Bitmixer does on their site to confirm enrolments? People will likely know when they get paid as well. Having a bot automate messages just sounds like asking for trouble. Based on his previous behavior he probably wants to advertise his campaign more. Maybe we should give him the benefit of doubt of not accusing him of a crime before he's committed it.

What is being auctioned? Why?Non intrusive ad space in my setup guides is being publicly auctioned. I work for the community full time and am not funded by the community. Donations have not exceeded $100 in total this year and so I have to find a way to keep the guides sustainable and FREE for the average consumer. Selling ad space is one such trial. Ad Format- Leaderboard style (728x90px), static images (jpg, gif, png), non annoying colors.
- Ads may not misrepresent, lie, be inappropriate, be (or link to) NSFW content. I reserve the right to reject ads for other reasons or remove ads even after they have been accepted.
- There are 5 ad slots for sale. One slot will be placed after sections 2, 4 and 6 in all the guides listed at the bottom of the post.
- I will randomise which ad is placed in which slot on each guide so each slot receives the same impressions.
- The ads last at least 10 days starting from when they are put up. Traffic is expected to be 14,000 impressions per slot over the period.
- This traffic is exceptionally targeted to the hardware subforum, and more specifically to those who have either bought or are looking to buy miners.
Auction Format- Auction will run for approximately 10 days, to end at midnight London time / 3PM PDT / 6PM EDT on Monday 23rd February.
- Post your bids in this thread. Prices must be stated in BTC per slot. You must state the max number of slots you want.
- The notation "2 @ 0.20" means 2 slots for BTC 0.20 each. Not 2 slots for 0.20 BTC total.
- If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first will have his slots filled first.
- Bidding starts at BTC 0.20. All bid prices must be evenly divisible by BTC 0.05.
I reserve the right to reject bids, even days after the bid is made. In particular, bids from people with less than 15 activity points are likely to be rejected. I recommend not getting into a bidding war with someone who has less than 15 activity points, as their bids might not be accepted, but your latest bids will still stand. If you need to know right away whether someone's bids will be accepted, PM me. You must pay for your slots within 24 hours of receiving the payment address otherwise your slots may be sold to someone else. I will send you the payment information via forum PM from this account ("dogie", user ID 87869). You might receive false payment information from scammers pretending to be me. They might even have somewhat similar usernames. Be careful. TaxesThere is only tax due to EU and UK bidders, and there is no additional cost to anyone (apart from me). I can absolutely guarantee that you didn't find 6 BTC blocks with a single antminer. I had various generations of Bitmain miners "find" dozens of blocks according to the miner stats. Unfortunately they were simply errors on the stats page.
Hummmmmm 6 blocks. It can be possible but if you found that many, you might want to go buy a lotto ticket just in case. Your luck may be super high!! Or, whoever is renting on nicehash is altcoin mining.

Okay real fast on eco mode it gets .488 watts a gh very good but so far eco mode locks me into 244 watts and 500gh
they should send a sd card preflashed for your rasp-pi what a p.i.t.a. to flash an sd with a mac. gave up purchased a reader/writer for my windows 7 and flashed an sd card in under 30 minutes. works nice with a rasp pi. setup is very easy with a rasp pi and a good sd card.
back to efficiency this is a great office miner. it is basically silent under 40db which is no noise at all. so if you are a free power guy but must be quiet this seems better then the s-5 or sp20.
I am running 2 s-3's in my friends office at 2.4 cents a kwatt this is a good replacement for them.
more to quick seller the s-5 is a tweakers delight . there are 10 or more fan setups I did mounting setups and when sidehack comes out with a voltage controller (95% or so) the s-5 will be even more tweakable then now.
This is a set it and forget (at least I hope it is) . Once I fuck with the custom setting and figure out the best numbers to use it will sit and mine quietly for a long time. It has a place for some of us.
It is not for a 10 miner in the garage setup. Or any bigger farm. 100 in a barn 50 in a warehouse space.
But the guy that really needs peace and quiet this is the one. I will figure the best you can do in the next few days on the eco or custom end. Efficiency wise.
Is this quieter then the S3s? Absolutely, the incredibly low fan profile even overcools so you can cap fan speeds even lower.

So then I turned off machine, now working on a more permenant solution. Soldering option, but never taken apart Prisma before and dont wanna damage anything.
Soldering is easier than you think on capacitors with pins flayed like that and nice big contacts. You just need to get a small dab of solder on each side. Will one BE controller host more than one miner? (not referring to daisy chain here)
No
