Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Mercury marked as shipped, order# 317x.  No tracking number yet.  No activity seen on Slush although it only registers if the activity is sufficient to generate a share.

Has anyone whose order was suddenly marked as "shipped" yesterday gotten tracking info? Seems like there are a lot of us who have not...

Seems like folks that saw their status changed to SHIPPED yesterday, really didn't ship.

This seems to be a ploy to reduce compensation claims for not shipping on time.

It's been 24 hours since my status changed to "Shipped" and still nothing from UPS or whatever shipper they are using.

Please speak up if you are in the same boat as me so we can establish a trend.

My request for tracking number was responded to as such:

Hi,

A tracking number is sent via email once your order is scanned at the carrier. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate in contacting us.

My day2 went to shipped yesterday and I picked it up from the office today. There are loads of people coming and picking stuff up. One guy came with his van and picked 6 Jupiter's up in one go.

Got to meet Orama and Sam and some of the other guys. They were rushing around like worker bees but still took the time to chat for a few minutes.

I don't comment much just watch the fireworks in here but it is funny hearing how people have an inflated opinion of their impact on what it's going on.

I can see there are a few frustrated customers, but they have shipped near 1500 miners so there are a hell of a lot of happy customers that no one is hearing from.

And a few probably non customers who are playing out the keyboard warriror syndrome to perfection. Smiley

There are also potential customers that were watching to see how KnC performed. KnC just lost them due to their lying about shipping dates.

Just signed up for Google Voice and tried calling, unsurprisingly got a machine.

I will be calling in the AM.

Totally not fair that we got stuck in this place where we did not receive an early shipment, yet aren't eligible for a refund because our orders suddenly were marked as "Shipped".

Are any hosted customers achieving 500+ GH/s?  The best I seem to be able to get (sustained) is around 430GH with 10+% errors.  I've seen momentary peaks over 500 but never a 10 minute average above 445 or so.

One of my units has been over 525 since the .95 release.  The other 350.    But 45 minutes ago my 525 unit went to zero.

I'm in the same boat.

three Jupiter's, both averaging 380-400 with a third that refuses to stay hashing.

seems like its power starved, starting number 3 kills number 1.

I emailed customerservice, they replied that the engineers fixed the issue, but it's still present.

Paid for three hosted jupiters, only two work consistently.

Person who got his miners on the date it was promised can't see what the problem is for anyone else? That might also be a syndrome. I think it's called "I've-got-mine-jack-don't-care-about-anyone-else-itis".

Though I am still waiting for my hosted 39xx, I don't see any reason for all the vengeful anger being displayed here...

Ok mine just updated to shipped as well, I'm starting to think the people's that are marked shipped without tracking might of went out dhl? Guess we will see, hope it gets to Hawaii fast!

I've seen UPS tracking here in the US work two different way, a shipper can notify UPS an order is to be picked up that day and provide the tracking number or the shipper can simply have the item picked up.  In the first case UPS gives tracking info before pickup and the latter tracking info isn't provided until actual pickup scan or office scan.

The pickup scan or office scan doesn't seem to appear on the USPS website until after 8PM.

If their UPS pickup in Sweden is at 5PM their time then we who have UPS shipping might see tracking after 8PM there or after 2PM EDT.

No need to go point by point. Utilisation can mean anything you want it to. If more people start using Bitcoin and buying and selling more goods the number and sum value of transactions will increase. This sounds like a good definition to me :-)

An increase in the number of people using the Bitcoin Network do not mean there will be more transactions or less transactions. What increases or decreases the volume of transactions is relative to what people decide to do with the BTC they own. So there is no direct correlation between the number of people using the Bitcoin Network and the volume of transactions.

Quote
You can create SatoshiDice examples which work the other way and use that prove your point if you want.

...and I could create a script which could raise the number of transactions by sending BTC between keys I own. That, in accordance with your sound definition, would mean that the number of people using the Bitcoin Network had increased.

Quote
I don't have the tools to calculate the percentage of transactions which include a fee. Do you? I asked the very same question on the developer forum:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=309793.0

Fine, so do not make statements of "percentage" when there is no "tools to calculate the percentage of transactions which include a fee". This show that you cannot prove the correlation between the increase of Bitcoin users and the increase of transaction fee volume. If you do not know the "percentage" of transactions which include a fee, you are not in a position to assert that "sum value of transactions will increase" just because there is "more people start using Bitcoin and buying and selling more goods".

Quote
Looking at a recent block, you can see people/machines have different ideas of a reasonable fee:

http://blockchain.info/block-index/426239/0000000000000004604489e4e1788c16479c60c37f55671ddca4cf2706915a95

Generally less than 0.0001 BTC by my eye-balling. Pool operators do whatever gets them the most miners. If they started advertising their mintxfee settings, then miners could make a decision about which pool to join based on that. I'd personally join a pool which encourages a higher fee than the status quo with the long term goal of raising fees.

Quote
Payment gateways generate transactions and can add a fee to a transaction, I think you misunderstand at which point the fee is added. as another example, some of the exchanges already charge their own withdrawal fees, but you can guess that they aren't adding a percentage of that to the transaction fee, which perhaps they should :-)

Payment gateways do not generate a transaction, that is done by the Bitcoin Network. So payment gateways cannot add a fee to a Bitcoin Network transaction. What a payment gateway can do is use the Bitcoin Network to pay out they customers. Then the Bitcoin Network generate the respective transactions and a potential fee is added. The transactions fee in discussion is under strict control of the Bitcoin protocol, which is under control of the developers, pool operators and solo "miners".

Now, in relation to the topic subject, if the buyers of the KnCminer products expect they will be able to achieve a positive ROI based on the increase of fees, whatever is volume or price, they are completely screwed. An increase in the price of a transaction fee would result in less transactions, since common sense dictates that people try to pay less fees as possible. A significant increase of the volume of transactions would only be possible if all sectors of the global economy were using the Bitcoin Network. That is not the case, since only the third sector use the Bitcoin Network.

The KnCminer customers can only expect that difficulty will not reach an exponential increase before the next halving of the block reward. But this is unlikely to happen, since the tendency is more and more hash rate being added to the Bitcoin Newtork.

Though I am still waiting for my hosted 39xx, I don't see any reason for all the vengeful anger being displayed here...

The reason is simple, they advertised to the broad public, deliverd to people without VAT numbers (Customers) and stated in interviews that everyone can buy their miners, yet still think their ToS are valid in any way and that they do not have to pay compensation since they stated that in their ToS.
They claim that every date of delivery is pure for your information only but acknowledge publicly that they are late with produtcion. They ship under Incoterms 2010 EXW and B2B facade in order to have no obligation whatsoever to their customers and still claim that all is well in the KNC World and that customer protection or even timelimits explicitly stated to them and answered per email do not apply to them so that they do not have to pay damages for default to anyone.
