Greetz everyone.
I'm in the United States. After 4 months of having a paid in full status on KNC's website for my batch 2 Neppy (even though I requested a refund, they still shipped) I get this message yesterday from the UPS Message center:
"UPS DELIVERY Exception Reason: A VALID TAX ID OR DEFERMENT NUMBER IS MISSING AND IS REQUIRED FOR CLEARANCE. WE ARE WORKING TO OBTAIN THIS INFORMATION. Exception Resolution:THE PACKAGE IS AT THE CLEARING AGENCY AWAITING FINAL RELEASE."
Does this mean that I have to have a Tax I.D., go to UPS & pay taxes which is even more money than I already paid $10.2KUSD? If so, lesson learned. Never again. Does anyone here have this experience?
UPS is going to need your SSN or your business Tax ID. This has happened a lot on large S3 shipments: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=671189.msg8068381;topicseen#msg8068381You may want to call UPS to speed up the process.

I just got confirmation from KNC Miner this morning that for those who orders the B1 and B2 Neptune's their 2nd free Neptune's value will be marked at $1000 USD. So if you have to pay customs in you country you are screwed, like me! lol Anna (kncminer) Aug 29 11:09 Hello SmoothRunnings, The bonus miner will be shipped with declared value 1000 USD. We cannot make it lower because after investigation on this matter it came out that customs will not let the product through if the mentioned price is lower, or will ban us for the future deliveries. What kills me is that the Jupiter boards had the mounting point for another power connector that no one needed. If they would have left that on the Neptune boards, there would significantly less complaints and returns. It was a pain soldering another power connector on the Neptune boards. But it made my ax1200i & ax1500i happy with 2 cables to each cube and no overheated wires or over-current problems...

What happens when you put a Y cable on your 5th miner and connect your 12 and 1500 to it? I would think both PSUs would balance out.

Dealt with this crap on my SP30 order the item shipped from Israel to the US in one freaking day and has been help up in customs for two days. I had to email what is called a customs form 50 with my taxID/SSN and address. Basically information they already had. Then the FDA decided to also hold it another 12 more hours and the finally released it at 3.30 am today. Guess what lass a$$ FedEx now tells me it missed the morning sort even after they had already got the clearance at the 3.30am release. So now I am looking at a Tuesday deliver for an item that was shipped with $300 two day intnl shipping. So no hashing for me over the weekend before DIF goes up to 27k that's almost $240 in lost fiat earnings basically .5BTC I could have earned. I asked them to request Saturday deliver and still have heard nothing yet WTF. FEDEX sux!!! Either I will contact billing over the weekend and bitch and moan for a refund or something on the shipping and then try and get it credited to me by the hardware vendor. long short calling FedEx is a waste of time they do stuff at their own pace. I already knew they needed this info on Wednesday and phoned in the info , requested the form etc. but they still did not submit anything until the person that processes international orders in Memphis TN (stupid lazy southerners) called me at 8am Thursday to tell me what I already know : my item was being held by customs. and that the needed the import form. I emailed it to her within 45 mins and she claims she submitted it but the item was not released by customs till 3.30 am. Its a clusterfuck bro, if not for the rising DIFF I could handle it in a relatively sane fashion but like the rest of us I'm in a race against time to ROI.

I have 3 cubes on the 1500 (6 cables) and 2 cubes on the 1200 (4 cables)...there is room for up to 8 cables on each PSU 3.6 Th/s @ 1429W...

On the system board for the Neptune there looks to be a MicroSD card slot on the top of the NIC controller card, is there any purpose to it?
THanks,

You have 6 cables, why would do that? Because if he only used three they would likely melt! They were too cheap to include a second and third PCI-e power socket so I'm guessing that's unlikely; plus it wouldn't actually solve the single socket problem.
More importantly that would be acknowledging there is a problem, so it will never happen. KfC told me that they have had 0.3% of cubes returned due to burnt out power sockets; I call that acknowledging there is a problem. Given that most people will have done a work around, soldered wires to board, splitter cables and so on the returns are still around 1/300 units. Can you imagine if 1 in 300 Ford's was burning up due to a design fault? Or 1 in 300 Dell computers? u27

That's a bit of a straw-man. Nobody is dying from burnt out power sockets unless their building happens to catch fire: which anybody could and should prepare for. I'm not aware of Dell's official failure rates but .3% doesn't sound unreasonable. The biggest issue towards customer satisfaction is undeniably delivery date. Consistently missing shipping projections will hemorrhage returning customers: arguably irrelevant to their business model.

Even if that's an accurate number of returns to KnC, imagine the number of people who aren't interested in paying for and waiting for shit to ship to Sweden, to be fixed, and then shipped back. If you're competent enough with a soldering iron you can have new plugs the next day delivered from Digikey, or solder some leads right to the board.

If they did have 1 in 300 fail in one specific way they would at least acknowledge the problem and fix it; then again Dell care if their customers come back. Exactly, those who can't spare the hashing time or money in addition to those who have preempted the failure and taken action before it happens. I tried the stock setup with high quality 16AWG and 2/5 sockets failed thus far. u27
