Slush,

Did my question make sense?

Well, I didn't read it carefully yet as I'm trying to finish payouts now (and there is 5.30 am already). But I'll focus on it later, right?

It seems kinda hard to determine if it's correct because the nmc payouts are shown on the bitcoin statistics page.  So I can't tell how much I get per found nmc block.
Does the nmc payout coincide with the amount of nmc blocks found during the same time period as the btc block?  Or does that column just belong on the nmc statistics page.  Which would mean that each nmc payout listed coincides with a single nmc block?

Pool is currently bitcoin-block centric, because I didn't expect more parallel blockchains year ago, so I solved this in the following way: Once bitcoin block is found, I take all namecoin blocks mined during this time and spread them between namecoin users using their score. So basically it is "user_score / score_of_all_namecoin_users * nmc_blocks_cnt * 50". And this is handled as additional block reward to *bitcoin* block, which is the reason why is NMC reward displayed on Bitcoin block stats. With current low namecoin difficulty I see this mechanism as pretty fair, but I'm preparing to rewrite pool for full support of parallel blockchains, with separate scoring etc, so this should be considered as a "quick and temporary solution".

Makes sense, thanks for the explanation.  In that case it all looks perfect...

Also explains why it was harder to implement the accounting.

lol. I'm holding them. If more pools step in and .bit resolution gets into a Firefox release, that shit could inflate wildly.

Account refuses to SAVE threshold value for NMC.
I think when saving my NMC address i gave 3.0 as threshold.
Now i try to change to any integer or integer with fraction, 30 or 30.0 or 45..... any numbers gives this error message in screen shot & refuses to SAVE.

My payout too, so far it said 155 BTC now it says 355 BTC. (155 BTC + 200 NMC actually)

Hopefully some people will use these for their intended purpose, registering and enjoying free-DNS goodness, instead of just selling them for BTC.

Now I only have to figure out how to get bind to query namecoin DNS servers for .bit and the root servers for everything else.

Hi Slush

1st, good job on the NMC merged mining thing.

I am trying to figure this out though.

been mining with maybe 800 MH/s average, and put in my NMC addy on 11 Nov. NMC wallet says ~120 NMC payed out a few hours ago. thats the lump sum when you hit the big red button.

the statistics page says I made about 80 NMC (rough guess just eyeballing the figures) from 14 Nov till the payout. thats about 20 per day or so.. seems about right as in the last 4 hours or so since the payout (which left my NMC  confirmed figure at zero) confirmed  now says ~8 NMC.. thats about ~24 per day. so thats means about 40 NMC from the beginning of merged mining till the 14th? about 2 days worth? or am I just reading this wrong.. middle of the night here.

Less than 20 works. But that means more than 3-5 payout daily.

That will reduce by a factor of 4 only the next difficulty adjustment takes place. However that's still a lot of transactions that have to be stored by every client forever.

How about jacking up the maximum send threshold to 100 NMC? It can always be reduced later when the difficulty levels out.

Two bitcoin backends suddenly crashed, I rebooted them and investigating the issue. Sorry for short downtime for some of you.

PS. I rised threshold limit to 100 NMC on profile. But it is temporary because of low difficulty; I don't want to store tens of thousands NMC in long term, because - I'm not a bank Smiley.

I had to stopped MM on some backends because of continuous performance problems. I'm investigating that issue, MM should be back here soon.
