Deepbit doesn't seem to be very perky either... so another DDoS on Slush & Deepbit?

While BTC is a whopping $2.23?

Not a good day for BTC.

You know, $2.23 is below my shutdown point. My electricity is 8.8 cents per kWh.
Only the NMC being mined bring me up and slightly over cost.

I have very strong evidence that btcguild.com is somehow related to those DDoS attacks to my pool and deepbit. I'll write later.

For now pool is down and won't be up today. I'm really sorry for downtime, but today it is more serious than before. However I'm solving it, as usually.

I had suspicions after the last attack, but didn't want to say anything for risk of a public flaying...

"Very Strong Evidence" != "Somehow related"

Every decently sized pool, large or small, has been attacked this year. Some of them have been outright attacks, others have been pools unable to cope with the sheer volume.

Proof?

Hiya. Long time lurker first time poster.

I sit in the BTCGuild IRC channel every day for at least 12 hours a day and no-one has said they dis-like large pools or Deepbit.
In fact some of us Deepbit as our pool. Myself included. The only poeple I have seen that "hate" large pools is RS and his crew.

What I have seen is Eleuthria is very fast at banning botnets from using his pool and making it so they can't DDOS his pool.  And from what I've seen his pool is always the last large pool standing when the other 2-3 large ones go down.

I've talked to the btcguild guy on IRC a few times. I'm pretty ( but not totally ) sure he personally would not get involved in DDOS'ing other pools.

It seems far more likely to me that botnets that use his pool have a great interest in keeping the other pools down.

My gut says this is the more than likely scenario as well. Lets hope so.  I just couldn't picture Eleuth putting himself in real life danger by doing soemthing like that. It just doesn't add up........

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

Been talking a lot to him in the past months and that is one of the very last things he would consider doing...

Agree btcguild is not behind this.

So under your logic that means when deepbit and btcguild was getting ddosed it must of been slush that was doing it?

or when guild c and D go down its A's fault.

Nice
