Hey. I bought some time ago, block erupter usb miner. Finally, when I got it to authenticate and multiminer work so it gives me a 100% error. The error message is as follows.
STATUS = S = 1391071964 When a Code = 9, msg = 0 GPU (s) - 1 The PGA (s), bfgminer 3.10.0 Description = | PGA = 0, Name = BES, ID = 0, Y = Enabled, the Status = Alive, Device Elapsed = 109, av = 275547 MHS, MHS 5s = 260698, = 0, Accepted, Rejected = 0, Hardware Errors = 7, Utility = 0.000, Stale = 0, Last Share Pool = 0, Share The Last Time = 0 , Total MH = 30020.4046, Diff1 Work = 0, the Utility Work = 0000, Accepted Difficulty = 0.00000000, 0.00000000 = Rejected Difficulty, Difficulty Stale = 0.00000000, the Last Valid Work = 1391071853, Device = 100.0000% Hardware, Device Rejected% = 0.0000 |
Is there anything I can do something to miner setup so I can get some coins.

are you cooling the miner? 100% hardware errors indicate something is very wrong with the block erupter. I would visually insect it for damage and make sure the screws attaching the heatsink are properly tightened (some arent and they get HOT FAST without a proper heatsink and fan) Otherwise I am not sure, but 100% hw error is device end, not multiminer I would expect. According to that info it has a hashrate but you are losing it to 100% hardware errors.. My guess is it is not properly cooled or is a heatsink issue. Also try plugging it into a different usb hub or port.

Are you using a powered USB HUB? All USB ASICs require enough power or they will not work. I'd try a powered USB hub. If that doesn't work it sounds like potentially a bad ASIC.

Now if someone who knows can answer question 3 I'll be all set! How are devices enumerated in bfgminer and then MultiMiner? Is the first device shown on a bfgminer -S opencl:auto -d? considered device 0 or the last possible enumerated device?
Since you have the following in your arguments: You can look at the Intensity column and see the order. They should be in order unless there is an ADL / OpenCL mismatch.

Hi Nwools, Sorry to cut in on your thread but i found a miner last night that claims to have MM support and they say they have talked with you about this and will have some advanced support with MM like overclocking. I just wanted to verify that was true and that they have in fact spoke with you to make sure its not a scam. They said something about sending you a demo machine in march on their website which made me a little worried so i wanted to verify your support with MM of their miner. They are calling it the VX-1 miner if that helps you remember them. The blog post i found it on is here http://www.vxminers.com/blog/2014/01/26/multi-miner-compatibility-confirmedCould you verify this for me please? If its true i want to get some ordered before everyone else finds out about them.

But I have been talking to them, they are working on the source for MultiMiner to add support for their rigs, and they are intending on sending me a unit so that I can maintain their changes. They seem like very bright and nice folks. Nothing seems shady (to me) so far.

just reporting that I am getting a lot of Unhandled exception errors again.
- updated to the latest 2.5.5 to try to repair the errors, they seem to have appeared a while back. - switched the api to and from coinchoose to coinwarz with no difference. - updated the latest amd catalyst - to try to fix the problem.
the problem seems to appear whenever switching coins I seem to be frequently reverting back to very old versions to maintain stability.
thx

Post them here please or in the Github issues section. If you don't post the details they likely won't get fixed until someone else does.

Hi, Is there a way to avoid to push in background bfgminer output better then modify and compiling the source? I had a look at source code and your comment about the hashrate improvement but I'd like to have the possibility to enable "-q" option by using it or not in the string for miner configuration (or better in the GUI as a tick )

This command can likely go in there.

nwoolls, just curious: are you tracking SGminer at all? It's a fork of cgminer 3.7.2 to create a scrypt only miner. I think it might be worth it to keep track of this, as Luke-Jr has stated he doesn't support altcoins before, and it's quite possible he'll let the scrypt capability stagnate. Also with the rumours that the bitcointalk admins are going to remove all altcoin-based forums from this site, it's looking like this will become a hostile environment for altcoin develelopment. I think most(or maybe just a large portion) of the MultiMiner users are scrypt mining (since there are more scrypt coins out there), and it would be worth keeping track of a miner like this. Here's the thread over at the litecoin forums. https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=13190.0

And it really only affects super slow machines - think Raspberry Pi. I just put it in there to be thorough.

Nope - other than to repeatedly ask them why they don't commit these changes back to bfgminer. You can see my posts in their thread. If they are not willing to help and want to continue with their own miner we will be cherry picking any worth-while changes into bfgminer. It's a real shame that they are more interested in making their own fork instead of contributing to an active scrypt miner.
