I have seen blocks under 1 min longest block I can remember was 22 or 23 hours. our pool's hash rate should earn 6 blocks a day or 1 every 4 hours. https://bitclockers.com/calc put in 8,200,000 for hash. put in 26,160,000 for difficulty. you get 157 coins a day or about a block every 4 hours |

+1 I have never seen such bad luck before Your current round is at 135m shares as of this post. That is only ~5 times current difficulty. Most pools (BitMinter included I bet) have had *at least* one block that was 10x difficulty. The fact that BitMinter has solved a few NMC blocks in that time is a good sign that everything is probably still in working order. |

Most pools (BitMinter included I bet) have had *at least* one block that was 10x difficulty. It is worth asking though. The fact after the maintenance we did not find a single block exists. Shit happen and it may be related. Let us hope that Doc will check it asap. No matter of what i am sticking to the pool. If there was a bug hitting us we will loose a day or two of profits. I can leave with it. |

On the 14th we had a 7 min and a 35 min block. Maybe this is just to make us pay for those  And I know that isn't really how this works, but it helps me to justify it that way  |

There are no missing blocks. Just like there are no "extra" blocks when we have lucky short rounds. Bitcoin mining is like a lottery. Sometimes you find blocks quickly with only a few hashes (lottery tickets) and sometimes it takes many hashes. Luckily we found a couple quick blocks after that 26 hour block, which helps even out the bad luck we just had. If the variance makes you uneasy then you can mine in a PPS pool instead. You'll have high fees, no income from transaction fees, no namecoin income. In short, you will lose a lot of money. But you won't have any variance at all. The same (very low) payouts every day. |

If that didn't happen, then you're also not benefiting from good luck--or else the pool would go bankrupt So really, there's no point in trying to avoid it. I'd rather see the downturns all laid out in a direct correlation (payment = % of block) rather than hidden behind extra fees (and not really knowing how much I'm really losing.) I'm sticking with Bitminter; I find the payouts to be quite fair. |
