Christmas season is coming is there a chance of merit system deactivation?
Yes. There is a chance. Approximately .00005193276% Is there a chance that theymos may give us Christmas bonus?
Yes. There is a chance. Approximately .00273707129005% Marry merit in Christmas or maybe in new years eve.
Likely, for holiday celebration sakes, your time would be better striving for such cheer through other avenues, perhaps in the real world, but of course, online has become more and more of a interaction mode for people. This part of your post seems to be caught up in several contradictions: 1) in terms of your merit hopium, perhaps attempting to reverse psychology someone into granting your fantasylandia pussy passive merit begging? 2) mischaracterizing the impact of merit. Sure, this forum has an impact on crypto, and surely this forum started with bitcoin because it was, then, the only game in town, yet your characterization of "crypto community" seems to suggest that you don't understand the difference between bitcoin and crypto - and that you just amalgamate them into one vague word, and 3) your suggestion that this merit system was implemented as a gift also seems to be misleading (and perhaps another passive way of merit begging), when in fact a more accurate depiction of this merit system would be as a tool or even an obstacle against shitposting and account farming. Edit:Christmas season is coming is there a chance of merit system deactivation? Is there a chance that theymos may give us Christmas bonus? Marry merit in Christmas or maybe in new years eve. <...>
You seem to be a sea of contradiction there: you ask about deactivating the Merit System, only to ask in the next line if there is any chance of a bonus. The “bonus” seems to have got the horny side of phonetics, to the extent that you are considering getting married to merit come Xmas season. It all seems like a metaphor of marriage: can I deactivate it-> no -> marry and bonus? Oh shit!!! I should have read ahead before drafting my above post because it appears that DdmrDdmr beat me to both the responsiveness and even the fitting tone... whoaza!!!!

Christmas season is coming is there a chance of merit system deactivation?
" So long as there are ICOs, airdrops, and bounties, there will be merits" Inspired by Albert Einstein's quoteIs there a chance that theymos may give us Christmas bonus?
Here you go: I'll get right on that, just as soon as hell freezes over.

Christmas season is coming is there a chance of merit system deactivation? Is there a chance that theymos may give us Christmas bonus? Marry merit in Christmas or maybe in new years eve. I think merit is the best gift ever to crypto communities if possible. How are these two phenomena even related? I don`t see any logic ... Implication is clearly not your strong point. Your only chance to get merits for the Christmas holidays is to learn to write better posts until that time. That would really be a Christmas miracle!

Agree with you that there is no reasonable reason to de-activate merit system. With the system, and new rank requirements, my promotive steps in the forum become much harder, but I like it. Some day, I will collect enough merits to rank up to Full Member rank, and at that time I deserve it from my intensive efforts. Ranking up like this will make more sense, and I imagine that how happy I will when that day come.

Well that escalated quickly. Merits are not bonuses you get rewarded with after working all year long. No, they are indeed, and you don't need to wait for the festive season to get them. As long as you put in the effort. Merry Christmas in advance.

On the last complete week (29/10/2018..04/11/2018), the sMerit distribution was of 3.321. That represents a noticeable drop in weekly sMerit distribution, being 24,28% down from the previous week. It’s the second all-time weekly low (the lowest was 3.186 sMerits the week of the 27th of August). I hope we’re not on the verge of another worrying descending trend … Note: Ignore the data for the current Week (05/11/2018 .. 11/11/2018), since it corresponds to a partial week (data only aggregates four days and a few hours of Friday).

Yes, correct. Managing to get the additional 500 Merits is quite a feat under the Merit System. So far, four people have managed to do so starting off from Hero and reaching Legendary (requiring merits in the process): Jet Cash, malbaroza, hilariousetc and Last of the V8s .

In addition to 1000 merits, you would also need the required number of activity. The range is between 750 - 1030 activity, and a Hero member can be promoted to legendary at any point there. I don't know how the specific point to rank up during that range is decided per user

I think what happened around September 15, theymos both added new merit sources and he tweaked the quantity of the smerits of already existing sources at the same time, which caused a resetting of the smerits of the already existing merit sources (and therefore a kind of lump sum of smerits got airdropped into the smerit accounts of sources). Likely the merit sources front spent their smerits, and therefore ran out of smerits just prior to the 15th of the subsequent month (which would have been October 15) and therefore this month as well running out of smerits prior to November 15. It could take a few months to flatten out the smerit replenishment, unless theymos throws everyone monitoriing the system for a loop and tweaks smerits again... hahahahahaha.

Admin already decided what they were going to do, and of course, members would send out more smerits if they were to have them, but that is the point. Smerits start with sources, with the initial distribution on 1/24 and half of an smerit for any merit that you receive from another member. In other words, you are not really saying much of anything with your suggestion that members should get more smerits. Your point does not address any issue, and seems to be the opposite of what the merit implementation attempts to achieve. I see many post deserves for my appreciaton but I would use all my available merit doing so in few days :O
Why can't you show your appreciation by making a responsive comment to the supposedly "deserving" post? Why do you need smerits in order to show such alleged appreciation?

yes you have 500 merit now you need 500 merit if you went up your position to Legendary. It should have been known beforehand. Because you are a hero member. It is not okay to post such a fool.

Many would like this as option but think that you need to be merit sources if I read many treads about merit, maybe im wrong or misunderstood this, if so please correct me. But if i understood everything only sources have unlimited merit to send to anyone.

But if i understood everything only sources have unlimited merit to send to anyone.
Merit sources don't get unlimited sMerits. It's limited and varies from source to source. AFAIK, merit sources are meant to be gotten sMerits based on their sent merit. For example, if merit source sent 10 sMerits today, s/he will be refilled the exact amount in next month's same date. Here is the stats: There are 119 merit sources with a total merit generation of up to 22045 sMerit per 30 days.

I posted a description of the Bitcoin Talk merit system on my Jet Cash blog. It describes the different types of merit, and how they are created and awarded. You can read it here - https://talkmerit.com/the-source/index.php/articles/the-bitcoin-talk-merit-systemI probably should revive that blog, as it's quite a while since I posted there. The merit awarding seems to have changed slightly since my last posts.

Why can't you show your appreciation by making a responsive comment to the supposedly "deserving" post? Why do you need smerits in order to show such alleged appreciation? I consider such comments as a quite spam - I'd prefer to write substantive posts. It could be created a tool to mark posts with high merit.. And secondly - that could be a list with the best merited post and users with highest merit
