1461  Economy / Speculation / Re: January bitcoin price out look on: January 06, 2023, 09:54:08 AM
~21K by the end of the month

That is a bold prediction mate.

Even before the FTX incident occurred, the price of Bitcoin was already below what you mentioned as the $25,000 to $30,000 benchmarks. FTX added to the bearish sentiment but we were already in a bear market before it went bankrupt.

I am not really bullish for Bitcoin within January. I am not expecting too much. On the contrary I am expecting the price to just continue with its under $20,000 movement. It's probably sideway generally within the month. It could rise to as high as $18,000 but that's probably not the momentum we've all been waiting for.

Yes, at the start of the year we are someone feeling the bearish sentiments taking over and then the war happen and that's where the price started to make a nosedive. Then the cherry on top, the FTX collapse and suddenly the worst year for bitcoin as it went as low as $15,500. Right now the increase could go as high as $17k. If the market will continue it's ascend very slowly without any negative news around.

I'm not seeing $20k'ish this early.
1462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco on: January 06, 2023, 09:28:46 AM
This is going to be a tough fight for Lomachenko. If this fight really going to happen, then Lomachenko is going to be 35+ years already. While Haney only 24. I see that Lomachenko has difficulties against younger boxers (Lopez is a good example). I think the time will take its toll and in this fight Haney is going to win by decision. Loma is not in his prime anymore. He fights rarely. Compared to Haney, whos career is in prime. While this fight is not 100% confirmed, the time is working against Loma. 3-4 years ago I would go with Lomachenko, now I am in favor for Haney.
Lomachenko had a problem against Lopez because he claimed that he had an injury that time, so this time I believe he is already 100% healthy and there will be no more excuses in case he will lose against Haney. This could be a big fight for him but it's not new to him, maybe this is a tough fight for Haney too as I believe he hasn't face a boxer that is as smart as Loma.

He made a good comeback fight after that Lopez lost, he beat Nakatani and then Commey if my memory serves me right.

But against Ortiz it was a different Loma that we think he is no longer in his prime and others have said, 35 years old. So that is already a lot of wear and tear on his body. While Haney is young and very tall and a good boxer too, that's why this fight is going to be very difficult for Loma. And this could very well define his career, if ever he will beat a prime fighter.
This is a big test for Loma and I will trust him to win this fight because I believe that he will be listed as the underdog, and with that, it means the odds are very attractive while there's an assurance that the fight would be entertaining to watch. Haney maybe young and is on his prime, but he should not underestimate Loma as anything can happen.

Oh yes, for Loma backers here and for sure there are many from our boxing fans, it will be good to see him as the underdog, not that much though, probably in the 2.0x range or something. But still it's a good odds for us straight ML bet and just enjoy and wait for the results.

So it's a big test, and do hope that Loma is back mentally and physically. Ortiz fight is a different for him to that point that we judge him as no longer in his prime.

But I do believed that this is going to be a close fight and not going to be easy for Haney even if he turns to be the betting favorite.
1463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 06, 2023, 09:12:43 AM

And that's the true advantage right there because even though Garcia have the size advantage, Davis here is already accustomed fighting with that scenario and surely he prepared for it because he knows that there will be some times that he'll get to fight with other boxers that are much taller than him and he doesn't want that his size will be the one who will give him the disadvantage despite the KO power he had.

The reach difference isn't small, and I think that is what Ryan Garcia is working out.  Making use of all his advantages.  If executed properly, I think Gervonta Davis may have difficulty moving around and closing into Ryan Garcia.

Ryan Garcia should be careful and I expect the best from him because he had to cancel his fight with Mercito Gesta just train and prepare straightly for his fight with Tank Davis. And yes, I also think that this bout won't be needing a full 12 rounds.

This skipped fight with Ryan Garcia may take a toll on him.  The fight against Gesta is a good way to test his training, there is a possibility of signs of ring rust too because of too much idleness before Ryan's fight against Gervonta.  I think Ryan is getting too confident that can possibly work against him.

I agree, if Ryan will take that advantage of is, being long and used his jab even further in this fight, stiff and strong jab that will let Davis very uncomfortable and can't execute his game play then Ryan might have a chance to win.

And then probably Davis will adjust too maybe in the middle of the fight, maybe put more pressure on Ryan and push him to make that one mistake and then he deliver his knock out, just like what he did against Romero. Very cautious but then when Rolly goes after him, Davis saw that opportunity. So there could be rounds of adjustment for both fighter, and it could be a chess match in the beginning.

However if Tank begins to pressure Ryan, it might also give Ryan some opportunities for a step back before left hook. How is Tank Davis' jaw because it might be also be his test. There are already many people who speculate that Ryan has a glass jaw, but how is Tank's jaw?

According to this article Ryan wants Tank to knock out Hector Garcia out cold hehe. Is Ryan pressuring Tank?

“I want Tank to knock [Hector Luis Garcia] out cold. It will make out fight even bigger,” said Ryan Garcia via ESPN

Source https://www.boxingnews24.com/2023/01/ryan-garcia-wants-tank-davis-to-ko-hector-to-make-their-fight-bigger/

Probably, Ryan Garcia was just messing Tank Davis in his head to finish the fight much earlier than anybody is expecting it to be. This young blood should just focus in his preparation for their upcoming fight because I bet he will be having some mental issues again if he will get embarrassed in this fight, too playing won't help him in his goal because Tank Davis is a critical thinker, he can't fathom it because Ryan Garcia is yet to come in that state.
Talking about their jaw, Ryan was already revealed that his jaw can be crack easily, while Davis's jaw is still unknown but I reckon is much sturdier than the Ryan.

I don't think he is messing though, I mean that's what he has been saying for many years, 2 rounds and he will knockout Davis. Perhaps this was due to Ryan knocking out opponents in round 1 back to back. I remember Duno, who also says that he will knock out Ryan, but he was done in round 1 and that makes Ryan very confident in knocking down his opponent early. He was crack by Luke Campbell, but he has great recuperating power from a punch, because after that big test, he was able to knockout Campbell with that huge body punch in the ribs.
1464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 06, 2023, 08:56:22 AM
Unfortunately I was not able to watch this whole Celtics vs Mavericks game, but I saw in some highlights that Marcus Smart played well, and mainly his main characteristic which is his defense, worked well in this game, because I also agree that "only" 23 points for Luka it's not much, I immediately imagined that for this to have happened either Luka played badly or he was very well guarded.

Good thing you didn't watch the game but it turns out it was just a boring game. Honestly, I didn't expect that the Mavericks will lose by blowout in that game, they were playing very well at home, so I was expecting that they will at least make it tougher for the Celtics to beat them.

And isn't it in their home court? so fans are disappointed for sure to see their team lost his big as if there was no energy on the Mavs itself. And this is what we are talking earlier that when Luka doesn't get any help, their team will be doom.

So for him to score in 23 points is not that much for team to win the game. And so we go back as who will actually need to step and help him out specially in crucial games down the line.

Well, sports analyst thinks that prime age range is 25-33, and Loma in age of 35, it is possible that he is on the decline of his prime.  Although I think this can be solved by training and conditioning, there is no doubt that Loma's performance is pretty mediocre during his last fight.  If Loma plays the same, I think he will be eaten whole by Devin Haney.  Devin Haney aside from being the larger player, he is also known for his defensive play and counters that render his opponent unable to connect or score a good punch.  Loma need to level up his performance if he needs to beat Devin Haney in this match.

Loma though has started a different kind of training with his father, unorthodox, I can't confirm though, maybe he was really affected by his father not training him, can someone confirmed me if his long time trainer and coach Anatoly Lomachenko is in his side in the Ortiz fight.

So it's a mental thing for Loma right now, and that's why others said that he is no longer in his prime.

But maybe the absence of his father could have a negative impact on him, hence his poor performance, in my opinion.
1466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Privacy, Mixers on: January 05, 2023, 10:43:33 AM
One of the best things that happened to our financial well being is getting to use & have bitcoin plus other cryptos of course, and the privilege  of some privacy as we spend and receive without giving out personal information thanks to its pseudo nature . But one business industry that has built its success around this are mixers, how do these guys really make their money without really advertising aggressively to increase their profit margins and who are the most likely clients to this business... And lastly in terms of protecting a user's footprints, can a domain host give (sell) out this information to third parties ?

Some mixers ask for donations, others charge for a small fee. I think some of them are doing promotions outside of this forum and maybe in our social media as well.

I don't think that a mixer is selling info to 3rd parties, I haven't heard this from a mixer, shutdown or still alive as of this time. Of course they have logs but they are destroyed right away as they don't keep it because they know that maybe some government agencies are watching them and they don't want to compromise their clients.
1467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: January 05, 2023, 10:16:34 AM
Well there is a new name popping around recently that Canelo is interested on fighting British contender John Ryder.

For sure it won't sit well on the winner of this fight, because we wanted if David Benavidez wins here, to fight Canelo. So it's a surprised if indeed Canelo will skip Bivol in his comeback fight and step aside the winner here and fight John Ryder.

I wouldn't be surprised though as we all know that Canelo is recovering from his injuries so he might as well take a light opponent first before taking either the winner of this fight or again avenge his defeat to Bivol.

As far as I know, Eddie Hearn and Canelo Alvarez's camp have said last year that Canelo won't be fighting a direct heavy opponent after his surgery because they needed to get him back to his feet first just to be safe and that he will be given a tune-up fight before he decides to face the winner of Plant-Benavidez fight or go for a rematch with Bivol. So, I'm thinking that maybe this is what they meant that time because John Ryder is not that kind of a risk to Canelo's throne, but I found out that Ryder have the WBO interim belt which kind of confusing.

Probably, but let's see how Canelo critics will take this, for sure they will give a lot of negative press for Canelo in he chooses this fighter. Which I had to admit I have to check his boxrec to see if he is worthy.

So he is the interim WBO belt, but it doesn't matter, but now we all know what they are fighting him. It's because of his injury and yeah probably a tune up and test how his hands were after the surgery. Maybe after this one he will fight either Bivol or the winner here. Canelo as well said that he wants to fight 3x a year so that is about the possibility for this year or at least 3x fight within 12 months.
1468  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Die or Pump Up in 2023? on: January 05, 2023, 09:41:56 AM
Bitcoin is going to be main source of Payments, paper money will get disappear and there will be no more printing of papers 💰💰💰

As much as we wanted to be as the main source of payments, there are a lot of challenges that we have to face, like the volatility and not everyone are willing to accept it. Not sure what you mean by paper money disappearing though, central banks are not going to allow it.

For 2023, the prediction might still be the same, it could trade sideways for the whole year as we are still in the bear market.

So still we better prepared again, who knows, maybe there could be events like FTX that will make a huge impact on the price again and see another lowest for 2023 before eventually rising up next year. But with regards to Elon Musk, he has no influence on the bitcoin market.
1469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: January 05, 2023, 09:21:45 AM
Ryan Garcia taking aim at Tank and says that he will finished him in 2 rounds, hehehe

Quote
“Prediction for the fight – I say I'll beat him in about two rounds,” Garcia told The Joe Pomp Show.

https://www.boxingscene.com/ryan-garcia-predicts-hell-ko-tank-2-rounds-hes-never-faced-adversity-risk-ring--171581

Ryan already hyping himself in this fight, saying that he will finished him in 2 rounds. I doubt though, Davis is known to be very cautious in the early rounds of his fight, just trying to figure out his opponents before making any adjustments. Specially if his opponent is someone of a knock out artist, just like in the Romero fight wherein he started very slow and trying not to get caught with big punch early. And we wanted the fight a bit longer, so that they will bring the best out of this two boxers.

Big words for a young man that hasn't yet fought any tough opponents in his whole career and saying that he can finish a fight in mere 2 rounds against Tank Davis. Now, I know that he's just trying to hype himself and to market their future fight even though it's not yet fixed but those words are too far from reality because Davis is no ordinary boxer that he can defeat that easily. He may have the size but the IQ belongs to the title holder.

Lol, but yes this is true, Ryan Garcia's mouth is to big for him and probably this is the reason why he is called social media king because when he opens his mouth, it's all about hyping his fight and what not.

But he hasn't proved anything, yeah, me made a comeback and his mental issues is behind him.

Nevertheless, he hasn't beaten anyone in the top 10 or the 135 lbs to just talk smuck to Davis like that. We will see Tank's reply in his next fight against Hector Garcia this weekend.

1471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 04, 2023, 08:21:33 PM
And so the trend continues with high caliber NBA players pushing their limit, Giannis against the Wizards, 55 points, 10 boards, 7 assists. I know, this is payback time for Giannis as some of the bettors are made against him not playing the last time because of the late news about his injuries and so majority of us lost our parlay and singles bet.

As for the Mitchell drug tested, I think it's fair, I didn't click on the link but what is the NBA looking for as a sort of performance enhancing drugs in basketball?

The top players score 40-50+ points more and more often. It seems that there will come a moment soon when fans will no longer be surprised by such performances. Honestly, I think the trend is not that players are pushing their limits but that the NBA is getting softer and softer every year. I mean, 50+ points was a rarity and a difficult task for many players 15-20 seasons ago. However, the current top players can score the same number of points somehow too easily.
Maybe I'm wrong, and someone will disagree with me, but that's my feeling on the playing style of players in the NBA at the moment.

It's obvious that the game has change a lot since the 80-90's where some of us grew watching the NBA. Perhaps we could count players reaching 40+ points around that era.

Could be that the NBA is getting softer, and sooner we might see this being the norm and who knows, if the once Kareem Abdul Jabbar's untouchable record is going to be broken by Lebron, maybe we can see Wilt's 100 points also been broken in the near future?
1472  Economy / Speculation / Re: The world is not doing well on: January 02, 2023, 01:04:34 PM
Dollar exchange rate strengthened. Bitcoin is weak.
For those who don't like Bitcoin, don't get excited about this situation just yet. I just want to say that the world is not doing well.
For Bitcoiners, we must be strong and patient with the situation. The world will be ours.
The condition of the dollar is very influential on the development of the world economy. If most countries experience a crisis, the dollar exchange rate will strengthen. Even when America is experiencing a crisis, the value of the dollar is getting stronger. This is a problem for some other currencies. We hope that global economic conditions will improve so that investors will return to the exchange and the price of Bitcoin will increase.

Definitely, dollar is the world currency so obviously where it moves, it will have a impact on every country and every economy. And so far it's been worst for US dollar globally and we can say that we are in recession this year, specially that there is still a war ongoing that involves US and it's ally against the Russians.

And so with that the traditional market and crypto as well is negatively impact. And the thing with crypto market is that it coincides with the bear market, that's why it is more evident and this is considered the worst bear market we had. So let's wait what the future will bring for us this 2023 and hopefully it's not another worse year for us.
1473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SlowMist: Investigation of North Korean APT’s Large-Scale Phishing Attack on NFT on: January 02, 2023, 12:35:37 PM
I haven't read the blog, but this is what we know about the North Korean's as they are very active in the crypto market, using sophisticated phishing attacks to every exchange specially their counter part, the South Korean and they have successful hack them for millions already.

And they have their very well known and documented phishing group which is known to the US as Lazarus group. This group has been attributed to many attacks even before they hone in to the crypto market.
1474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: (Boxing) Kazuto Ioka vs Joshua Boxing Match Begins 31 December 2022 on: January 02, 2023, 12:15:19 PM

if they will have a rematch, should not be in Japan as you said, should be in the neutral ground. seems that there was bit of a bias regarding the results. though the judges were from south africa, new zealand and puerto rico.  franco may have won if it was not in japan. maybe.
if they will schedule a rematch, much better if it will be this year or next year. a KO would surely give a clear winner next time around.

True, that is to prevent from what happened in this fight, a rematch is necessary because the fans are not convinced with the judges decision, Franco should have won the fight, and instead of complaining about the result, maybe a rematch is the best thing to do to determine the real winner.

Yes, I do agree, it shouldn't be in Japan wherein Ioka is very much comfortable or at least we don't want to see another biased scoring from the judges. Might better if this is held in the US and so it will be the other way around and we will see if Ioka is that good even fighting in a place wherein he is not comfortable. Franco is the victim here so hopefully he will be the one to choose the venue and hopefully this will be in US. The best thing to do to really determine who is the winner of this fight is to have a rematch and for sure this 2 fighters want that to happen.
1475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 02, 2023, 05:49:43 AM
Alexander Zverev has now made his first game at the United Cup in Australia. Unfortunately he lost it. He lost against #81 Lehecka in two sets with 4:6 and 2:6. His serve in particular had many errors and he probably needs a lot more match practice. That a not good conditions for the Australian Open.
Young Jiri Lehecka 21 years of age have won against Alexander Zverev 6-4 and 6-2 which is completely unexpected. As said this is not what is being expected for the Australian Open. There is big expectation around and these kind of performance will disappoint the followers. Lets see what gonna happen next with the new year.

And that is why we talk about this new set of tennis players, they need to be consistent if they want to remain on top.

Although this is just a tune up for Zverev, it not good to look at his resume if he will be beaten by a #81 rank player in Lehecka. On the contrary, just shows that maybe Jiri is good for the next couple of years and maybe a candidate to have a break through this year.

Let's see some tune up tournaments, perhaps tennis player are still not in their from at the start of this year though, just saying.

^ Not just a triple double, but Jokic had a near flawless night in Denver’s win over the Celtics. He shot 100% from 3 point range, 100% from the free throw line, and had 0 turnovers. He missed 3 of 13 shots otherwise he would have had a game for the record books. 30/12/12 isn’t bad either. Denver is going to cause some problems in the postseason this year.

True, and they are still on the top of West division, Grizzlies defeating the Pels resulting in a tie between this 2 teams in the second spot. And with Jokic putting this numbers, gonna be hard to see who will be the MVP as Luka is also having a statistical season, anyway still that far to talk about the MVP. What's important is that Nuggets maintain this run of them, with a healthy Murray and then Porter also back in their line up now, gonna be hard to beat this team when this kind of support system of Nikolai.
1477  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price guess, 2023 on: January 01, 2023, 12:40:10 PM
I voted for $20000 - $30000.

Probably for me this is the best scenario, I mean prior to the FTX collapse we are just about in the $20k levels. And we all know that this is the biggest support, that round numbers and most likely this might be the target of the bulls for at least the whole of next year and highs around $30k.

The price though is still very bearish and that's what we should be expecting for next year. Price could be on another sideway pattern.

^^ It doesn't matter though if that picture has been doctored or photoshop, the mere fact that he has gamble the money of others, not literally the gambling that he had to bet on a gambling site or casino, just playing along the money that he doesn't owns and loaning it to others, that is already gambling per se to me.

And if by chance he really took the money of other people and gamble it bigtime and think he will win and be able to payback, then something is really wrong with this guy. Specially given the powers that he had that time, billions of dollars, maybe he thinks he can get away with it without any consequences.
1479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers that don't understand basic gambling concepts. on: January 01, 2023, 11:16:28 AM
If people understand the concept of gambling that easy, then maybe there will be less gamblers as well?

The thing is even if they have this concepts in mind, I think they will still go and risk and maybe play to have some fun only, or maybe the only concept that they will hold is how lucky/unlucky they will be in they gamble. Even in we take for example sports betting, you only look at the odds for the favorite and the underdog, and yet the risk for the underdog is high but there are still people who are willing to take the risk and bet on that long shot.

I look at the compubox numbers and it seems that it is also close, Franco throws a lot of punch, but Ioka is more consistent.

Nevertheless, since this is Japan so expect some biases judge in favor of the hometown hero. I know it's kinda disappointed to see a fight end in a draw with no winner and both keeping the belts, but the judge score is final here and will not be reverse in my opinion. Good fight though to end the year and most likely there could be a rematch so settle once and for all the winner between this two warriors.
