1661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 16, 2023, 06:20:32 PM
I would guess that there are no teams that would lead the league in a mathematically nearly impossible to lose like this that ended up losing. I wager that if Napoli ends up selling ALL their players and just field 18 year old or under kids for the rest of the games, they will still not lose the title.

Not because they would win a lot more games, but because I do not think that other teams would end up earning more than 18 point difference during the same period. This is done, this was done a long time ago, it is not just recently done, it has been pretty much guaranteed that they would win when the difference became over 12 points and this is just over at this point.
1662  Economy / Economics / Re: Finally they understand the value of Decentralization ! on: March 16, 2023, 03:58:23 PM
I would guess that people are investing heavily into crypto these days because they are taking their money out of the banking world. This caused a huge spike in bitcoin price as well, and that is why I think we are in a good movement these days, we will probably keep going up for a while but congress and treasury got together on a zoom call just the other day and decided that everyone will be protected.

This means people with over 250k will be still given their money, this will not be from taxpayers money but a prevention fund that banks already pay into, so it is not going to be coming out of anyone's pocket. However, it is still a proof that the system fails, you may recover after the fail, but fails nevertheless.
1663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High gas fee for sending token is still a problem on: March 16, 2023, 02:44:20 PM
I would guess that the most recent increase in price once again clogged the market and that caused a lot of transactions to be more expensive. I do not think that this will go on for a long time, it is already at an acceptable level right now, but the reality is that ethereum gas fee problem is not fixed and it shows once again that in the future when there is a big bull run, we are going to end up paying a lot of tx fee once again and paying for that gas fee is not going to be nice.

I mean ETH is the biggest altcoin and that means there will be plenty of tokens under it, and people who would like to use those tokens will have to pay a huge gas fee.
1664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 15, 2023, 09:41:01 PM
Ronaldo is not getting that much money because he is that much better than everyone else, in fact at this age I would guess that he is right about at the top but that's it, barely the best player at this moment, some games he isn't even their best player to be fair, when he doesn't play his best games.

However, this dude was so good that not only he made the team known more globally, but he literally made the whole league known more, literally the whole league. Thanks to him Saudi Arabia is known a lot more even as a nation, think about it, making a whole nation more famous. This is why I think it is quite obvious he is getting paid for marketing, not his talents.
1665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2022/23 Season on: March 15, 2023, 09:21:56 PM
Galatasaray doesn't even have that many tough games coming up neither, they are going to face their rivals near the end, so they may end up getting as much as 20 wins in a row, not likely because most teams lose eventually, or even get a draw at least and that's what will happen to Galatasaray as well, just like any other team that is on a winning streak, most teams end up not winning against a weaker opponent.

However, if they end up winning until Fenerbahce, then they will make a record that is unbreakable to everyone, that's for sure. There aren't any games that looks like they "should" be losing, they may lose to weakest team too, or maybe win all of the games, it's unknown.
1666  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Beginners Should Not Go For Future Trading? on: March 15, 2023, 09:05:09 PM
Everyone talked about how risky it is but nobody said why as far as I can see. The whole "if you are wrong even just a bit then you will lose it all" is not the real response, of course that is what happens, but why you could be just a little wrong is the key here.

Newbies do not know how likely it is that they would be wrong and lose their money, they know that it is risky, and they know that they have to be right or they will lose it all, but they do not know what the chances of them being wrong is. The chance of you being wrong if you are a newbie and make a wrong bet is over 90%, that is not just made up number, that is the real results of all accounts under 6 months old at bitmex back when they started, so if you are new, don't.
1667  Economy / Economics / Re: Is this what awaits us? on: March 15, 2023, 08:48:04 PM
I get that a lot of people talked about how this will not happen because it is huge and this type of insanely high level of inflation only happened in the past and also locally and not a global thing. However, let me put a new perspective on it, you are saying it happened in the past, but we have seen a huge inflation during 2020-2022 period as well, maybe not this high, but it was still pretty high and destroyed many peoples economy and finances right? Which means bitcoin was still better option during that period.

Secondly you are saying localized, but that means it may happen in your nation too, so why not take some defensive measures and buy bitcoin in case your nation becomes like Venezuela?
1668  Economy / Economics / Re: How SVB fall going to affect bitcoin, crypto in general? on: March 15, 2023, 06:11:05 PM
I think it looks like a good thing for us. People first reacted as if it was a bad thing because there could be some crypto money in there, and right now we know that government will cover the deposits so there is nothing wrong just yet.

However, it is also quite important to face the reality that we are dealing with something that will hurt the fiat world a lot. Due to this fact, we are going to have crypto people reacting as if we are dealing with something that will be killing fiat so they will all go into crypto instead. This increases the price of bitcoin and all the other coins as well. Look at the price and look at what it was just last week and you will see the difference.
1669  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank Bailouts and Stock Market. on: March 15, 2023, 05:40:39 PM
I think layoffs won't be avoided, that will happen one way or another, that is coming for sure, however if bailouts happen then we are going to see a lot less banks and bankruptcies as well.

They should be able to save themselves if there is an injection of money, just like we saw in the 2008 crash that when you give these banks hundreds of billions of dollars to save themselves, they will somehow manage to do that and it could be a big debt on their shoulders but they will manage to handle it when they are conservative with their money instead of betting on silly stuff. They just need years to get it back but they will do so, so I do not think that we will lose any more banks if bailouts happens.
1670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins and Ether are ‘going to be commodities,’ reaffirms CFTC chair on: March 14, 2023, 09:46:09 PM
I 100% agree about the stablecoins and that is true that it is a commodity but ethereum too? That one does not make sense. Anyone who knows about bitcoin would know that it is not even remotely close to being similar.

Stablecoins and ethereum are two very different things and if you want to put them into the same box, that would be a wrong thing, I highly suggest not doing something like that at all, I would say they are not even in the same discussion. It would be better if CFTC chair could take a look at it again and see the differences, that would be a lot better and that way they would end up with something much better when the time comes.
1671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NYAG declares ETH as a Security on: March 14, 2023, 07:12:10 PM
I think the start could be a security, but right now it is not a security. How could I put this more delicately, at the start gold coins were a security because everyone had gold, but only some people could turn gold into gold coins, which means gold was a security, but overtime it became not a security right?

It wasn't owned by anyone, it was owned by everyone equally if they paid. Same logic, sure ETH had an ICO (pow or pos shouldn't matter) but right now there is no central figure that could make it go up and down, or freeze it, or take it back or whatever. It is all ours and we decide it collectively as people which should mean it is not a security.
1672  Other / Off-topic / Re: Revolutionizing Artificial Intelligence: GPT-4 with 100 Trillion Parameters on: March 14, 2023, 06:44:49 PM
I searched about this a bit further and all I can find was "promises", that's it. I mean Microsoft is saying there will be a lot of crazy stuff, including literally making videos, just like how midjourney type of stuff make images from your words, this would make freaking videos, so it's definitely an improvement and there is absolutely no doubt about that, imagine what that type of power could do while just chatting.

However, we need to remember that these are just promises, we haven't really seen it do anything yet, it is just talk and we need it to be released first in order to make sure that we could actually see if it can do what they promised.
1673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to better promote our project effectively ? on: March 14, 2023, 05:53:03 PM
Honestly it is futile to try to promote projects during this period, because it won't be hyped at all, hype is all the new projects have and will ever have. If you can hype carefully then you could make a good profit with your project but that requires the bull run. So wait for bitcoin to be 30k+ at least, better if you wait for it to break the ATH price range, and then you can make a lot of profit.

Rest is simple, find legit marketing people, people with proven track record and they will spend your money to make more money, mostly fail during this period because they hire terrible people, so you need to make sure that you hire the right person which will be the hardest part.
1674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP - yes or no? on: March 14, 2023, 05:19:24 PM
Good thing about crypto is that everyone is free to choice whatever they want to invest into, and that's the greatness about it. I could invest into bitcoin if I want to, and I could invest into some obscure unknown small token with market cap of 20k dollars which I can move myself with just a few thousand dollars investment.

However, whenever I make a mistake, then all the blame is for me, even if the investment I made turns out to be a rug pull and they scam me? I wouldn't blame them, I would blame myself for investing into a scam. This is the same logic, XRP is obvious with its shortcomings and troubles, if you still want to take the risk, then either you make a profit, or you shouldn't blame anyone for your losses.
1675  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: March 13, 2023, 09:58:53 PM
This has been asked multiple times before and I keep saying that it is as normal as it gets to start whenever you can. It has been established that bitcoin has cycles, if you start buying at the very top then yes you are very late to the part and should have bought when it was lower, but right now it is on the low end of the cycle and you could buy right now and sell it later on as well which would not be an issue at all.

I do not know why people end up having doubts about this, because it is obvious that we are not going to end up with any issues at all, we will be basically doing as well as hoped if you buy right now and hold it until the cycle goes to the top.
1676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2022/23 Season on: March 13, 2023, 09:18:10 PM
These type of games shows that even while some teams are much better than others, the league is actually quite close to each other in an individual game basis. We have seen teams like Galatasaray for example, who hasn't lost in so long, end up barely winning, but then you look at the big picture and they look so majestic, same goes for Besiktas, they look like an amazing team and easy to bet on for them to win, but when you look at the individual game it looks barely won.

It's a different feeling than most other big leagues, there I know that the team I wager will dominate, and if they lose that is a shock to everyone, here in this league it looks like anyone could lose at any moment.
1677  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we get the fed pivot right now? on: March 13, 2023, 06:58:09 PM
I am not entirely sure about this. I mean they "should", but just because they should doesn't mean that they will. The point is that during inflation if they increased the rates that would help, but the inflation is already calming down and banks are not making that much profit anymore, and the stocks are down as well, so they are even losing money right now, the same banks are also faced with this much payments that they need to make at the same time.

This all is a result that we are talking about something that will hurt us all in the long run. There is absolutely no other way that they could fix this, they need to pivot no matter what, lets hope that they do.
1678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 12, 2023, 09:18:59 PM
Real winning this game wasn't really a question, it was obvious from the start that they would be like this and it would be a great failure to lose this game in the end. It was obvious from the start of the week that both real and Barcelona would win, these are easily games and I do not see how they could lose.

At the end of the day, there could be some weeks where nothing really happens, it's just a rollover to another week and we are going to be forced to watch what happens. I believe that most weeks are like that, look at how many games both teams won, most of them were on the same week even though some of them were at different weeks, which means we get to see both teams win quite frequently.
1679  Economy / Economics / Re: If they have the solution, why are banks still failing? on: March 12, 2023, 08:31:02 PM
First of all silicon valley bank was not one of the biggest banks in the world, definitely not biggest in the nation neither, there are ones with trillions of dollars in it. Secondly, this is basically because they were forced to pay more and that did not existed in forms of profit so they were losing money left and right.

If you tell a bank with 1 trillion dollars in it, to give 5% to the customers, that means 50 billion dollars, if they can't make that profit and make only 30 billion in revenue, then they just effectively lost 20 billion dollars, consider the operational cost of running that bank must be at least another 10-20 billion and you have yourself a bankrupted one.
1680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happening with USDC? on: March 12, 2023, 06:23:59 PM
I do not know how much this silvergate issue really hurt USDC or not. I understand that circle lost some huge amounts there, and that is why it's down right now, but does it really mean that they had no reserves at all? Maybe they still have enough for 1 to 1 ratio and this was just excess amount they had?

I really do not know, but if it is true that they lost peoples money in this bankruptcy then we are all in trouble with all the other coins as well. They might as well be gone too, USDT or anything else too, because even if they didn't had money in silvergate, they have it somewhere else and it could be gone just like this one day and we would be in trouble.
