1781  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: March 10, 2023, 02:09:33 PM
So do we have some members here that wished to invest in bitcoin a year or 2 years ago? Now that bitcoin dropped below $20k, investors have the opportunity to travel back in time which was 2020, the year before the last time bitcoin went into halving. Next year is bitcoin halving once again. There is plenty of time remaining for us to invest or start a DCA on bitcoin and some of your chosen altcoins. Personally, this drop in price can only lead bitcoin to another mini bull run this year which will be around $30k or even more.
1782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 10, 2023, 01:48:31 PM
And in boxing news, GGG vacated his  WBA Middleweight Title

Quote
“Mr. Golovkin has requested that I contact you in order to communicate his intentions moving forward,” John Hornewer, attorney for Golovkin and GGG Promotions informed the WBA via official letter, a copy of which was obtained by BoxingScene.com. “Gennadiy Golovkin is proud to have reigned as the WBA Super Champion and to have unified the Middleweight titles in Japan against Ryoto Murata last year. Gennadiy thanks the WBA for its support during that process and during his career.

https://www.boxingscene.com/gennadiy-golovkin-relinquishes-wba-middleweight-title-erislandy-lara-upgraded-full-titlist--172992

So GGG doesn't have any titles, as he also relinquishes his IBF belt.

And this open up a lot of speculations. Maybe he is going to retire for good, or go one last fight at 168 lbs?

Hopefully, he will just retire for good. Even in that Murata fight, he looked too old and he was saved by his gifted powerful punch. He is already small at middleweight so at this stage of his career, it'll be scary for his health if he wants to continue fighting at 168. Maybe he can get an easy fight so he can retire with a win.

Time flies really fast. It seems like it was only a few years ago when GGG was then based in Germany just like his Universum stablemate Marco Maidana and then they entered the US and made a name for themselves. Such a very humble guy and is very straightforward with his goal which is to collect all the belts. Too bad he was exploited by boxing politics and was ducked for many years. Not sure if he can enter the International Boxing Hall of Fame but there is also a possibility knowing all his 2 defeats came from Canelo, a clear HOFer in the future. And he was clearly robbed in his first fight against Canelo. The 2nd fight was close and could go either way but it is very hard to win a decision against Canelo. Even Bivol and Mayweather nearly get robbed in spite of them taking Canelo to school.
1783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK sponsored by Utopia on: March 10, 2023, 12:48:22 PM
It looks like Tyson Fury took not just the WBC from Wilder but the being a duck champion as well. I remember when duck Wilder became the WBC champ and all the remaining belts were already held by Wlad and were denied a chance to become the first ever undisputed in the 4-belt era. Now Fury also has the chance to deny Usyk not just the undisputed heavyweight championship but also the chance to become the first undisputed in 2 divisions.

It's possible that Fury wants Usyk to become inactive for about a year. Fury can drag this out until April or May and when the sanctioning belts or Usyk will try to book for another opponent, Fury will accept the deal and schedule this fight around July or August.
1784  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think BTC would rise again? on: March 09, 2023, 08:26:31 AM
I can smell a newbie spamming threads in order to gather merits. OP, maybe you should provide figures including sources to your basis. Or if you are just talking with the speculations in your mind, you can do research and check to verify what's on your mind.

If bitcoin has not accumulated any impressions then it won't be worth hundreds of billions of dollars today. It even reached a trillion dollars in value last 2021 and for most of the people that have deep experience than you, bitcoin is about to reach another all-time high in the next 2 years. There are also many shops and commercial companies that are accepting bitcoin already. Bitcoin is regulated in most countries around the world and some countries banned it which means it made huge impressions over the years. Bitcoin is also traded daily for billions of dollars.
1785  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: March 09, 2023, 08:06:12 AM
Before taking out a loan to invest in Bitcoin or any other investment, it is important to do your research and understand the risks involved. It is also advisable to speak with a financial advisor to help you make an informed decision.

A financial advisor that asks for fees and then will give us stats and information that can be taken on the internet for free? Maybe it works if the investor is too busy or lazy to check and research thoroughly the assets he wants to get in. But considering a person who's planning to take a loan in order to invest in a volatile asset and has no time to research about it is a big NO already. If the guy is rich and is just trying to diversify his investments without taking unnecessary loans then yeah, it is reasonable to pay a financial advisor. Otherwise, it is wrong to pay a financial advisor. It is even wrong in the first place to take a loan in order to invest in an asset without much knowledge about it. Purely, the guy is profit driven and is just tempted due to the words it keeps hearing and seeing around.
1786  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too late to start? on: March 09, 2023, 07:46:17 AM
No one is late in crypto and that includes bitcoin. I always hear people saying bitcoin is already expensive and it prompted them to take a pass. Little that they knew that bitcoin is not even adopted by almost all countries around the world as a legal tender. And if someone is looking for a short-term investment, bitcoin is currently priced at $21k which is 3 times its previous highest price of $67k. Bitcoin's 4-year cycle is about to be reached and we all know that it always broke the ATH during the cycle. We may not able to see bitcoin increase by as many folds during its last cycles but I think it is safe to say that it will continue to increase at a significant level compared to traditional investments.
1787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 09, 2023, 07:03:13 AM
The Odds has been out in different gambling platforms. Currently, Ryan Garcia has 3.15 ODDS and Tank Davis has 1.32 ODDS. It's obvious that Ryan Garcia is the underdog in this fight, they are both strong and they are both undefeated but someone will get 1 in their both 0 losses. As a bettor and also a fan of boxing, Tank Davis has the upperhand wherein his K.O. rate is so high and his explosiveness is unreal but we cannot underestimate Ryan Garcia because he became pretty famous because of his speed and courage.

As for where will I put my bet between Ryan and Tank, I still not decided and I still researching for me to have conviction on who will I choose. I'll just make sure that the money that I will put is the money that I can give to the platform where I will not any emotional discomfort even I lose the bet.

Tank has been campaigning in 3 divisions already and became a champion at 130. Although Tank's opponents are mostly cherry-picked and exploited which is normal as he was carefully handled by Mayweather before, Kingry's level of opposition makes no difference. So overall, Tank has the edge when it comes to experience and better opponents.

I am liking of a Tank by KO/TKO. But I won't probably bet since I want these 2 cherry-pickers to fight in a blood bath after years of ignoring the top tiers of their division. And hopefully, the winner will be ready to face the real dogs of their divisions; Shakur, Haney, Loma, Lopez, Taylor, Caterall, Prograis, Matias, etc.
1788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 09, 2023, 06:43:15 AM
It's going to be a whole lot of speculations regarding Donaire's retirement or not. But one thing is for sure, it's inevitable, no one has defeated Father time, specially in a sports as brutal as boxing.

So let's just enjoy this fight, it will be his chance again as everyone said, another great opportunity to add to his already cemented legacy. And so if he wins he could be in the top 5 or top 3 best bantamweight in boxing history.

I am one of those that wanted Donaire to hang it up over the years. There is nothing to prove in this division anyways. It could be financial that Donaire continued his career despite being past his prime. If Donaire wins, I doubt he will retire as his dream of becoming a 5 division world champion is still doable provided he can make the weight.

Boxing is one of my favorite sports but I am not really into black-and-white fight replays although I did watch a lot before. But Donaire could be a top 3 IMO. I always hear the name Eder Jofre as the GOAT of this division. I also ranked Donaire higher than Inoue in this division despite the latter becoming the only 4-belt undisputed. It's because Inoue had trouble against an old Donaire which means he would've been stopped if it was a prime Donaire that hurt him. Donaire also beat Cucholito Montiel whom I believe is better than all fighters Inoue beat at 118, except Donaire of course.
1789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 09, 2023, 05:53:19 AM
Earlier I woke up seeing a clip on Facebook of Kevin Durant slipping on the floor while warming up against OKC. I thought it won't become a major issue until I heard updates that he is not playing against OKC. It was supposed to be the first game of KD as a Suns in Phoenix. No update on his injury yet but hopefully it isn't that bad. Phoenix Suns are on fire right now with a 4 game winning streak. They'll be in trouble if KD isn't back as their next 3 games are against the Kings, Warriors, and Bucks. Imagine if it is once again a season-ending injury. Booker and CP3 are bad luck. Cheesy **peace**

1790  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading or Investing in the stock market on: March 08, 2023, 11:09:50 AM
It really depends on your taste mate. Aside from that, it also depends on what stocks you are looking at. Is it your local stock market or the international stock market? Is your local stock market doing well? If you are looking at the popular world stock markets then it is best to have a broker wherein you really owned the stocks, unlike eToro where the spreads are somewhat wide. Generally, I can say that you should do both as part of diversifying your investments. But you should stay away from exchanges stocks or crypto that provide wide spreads.
1791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wrong Bets !!! on: March 08, 2023, 10:47:38 AM
Sad. But you have to accept what happened OP and learned from it. We just have to double-check everything before we proceed with our bets. It also happened to me many times already. The last was when I thought I was using a currency with the lowest balance. But in reality, I forgot to change the currency settings. So I went on and clicked max balance and throw the dice with a 4% chance of winning. I was so annoyed but there is nothing I can do but move on. But what you did is probably the most common and I had experiences with it too including a bet wherein I was supposed to bet 0.005 and was shocked the next morning when my winning was only small because I only typed 0.0005 BTC.

I listen to music or watch funny movies or clips in order to change my mood. Maybe you can do it too OP.
1792  Economy / Speculation / Re: Maybe it's time for BTC to take off and reach the $100K on: March 08, 2023, 10:27:07 AM
Relax mate. I am not yet done accumulating. But there is no new ATH until the next halving of bitcoin. Maybe bitcoin will close at $30k by year-end. The world economy is still recovering. $100k may not even happen until 2025. Instead, I am taking this time to continue my DCA and it will continue until next year. I felt happy every time bitcoin moves up or down anyways. How I wish it is really as cheap as peanuts so I can buy hundreds of thousands of them.
1793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Shuichiro Yoshino April 8 on: March 08, 2023, 10:04:05 AM
^^ I would agree, decent to good opponent for Shakur but I doubt that he can upset Stevenson at this point. So I will have to put Shakur here winning maybe by a knockout or complete domination of the fight.

No offense to the Japanese fighter, he had the belt in Asia, beat Nakatani who gave Teo Lopez all he can handle and also fought Loma in his comeback fight. But that is not enough resume to beat the likes of Shakur right now.

Shuichiro Yoshino is an impressive boxer and I do not doubt that he will give Shakur Stevenson a good fight and maybe even make Shakur sweat nervously a bit. But there is no denying that Shakur is going to be the winner of this upcoming match. Absolutely no doubt in my mind. That is just how good Shakur is. Yoshino is a promising boxer but he does not have the necessary skills and experience to fight against the big dogs.

Yoshino might have beaten Nakatani by TKO but he will be facing probably the quickest hand speed and footwork in boxing right now. And Shakur is always overloaded with confidence and he will be more confident than ever since he is back in front of his hometown. Shakur is not heavy-handed but there is really a chance of him stopping Yoshino if the Japanese cannot earn his respect in the early rounds. Maybe Shakur's chin is untested, especially in this division so this is the chance for Yoshino to test it.

If Haney will win over Loma and won't move up in weight, imagine how big the fight will be between him and Shakur. Tank and Kingry can only watch and envy because they don't dare to be great. Cheesy
1794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will you feel when your government make BTC legal? on: March 08, 2023, 09:16:38 AM
Bitcoin is not illegal in my country but it is not considered legal tender. I'll be very happy if my country will follow the steps of El Salvador and the Central African Republic. I am not a whale nor a small whale but I will probably remain private as much as possible. I will be one of those that will use bitcoin as a regular currency in normal transactions but of course only if the fees and prices are similar to the normal expenditures using fiat. I really hope that within 2030, a lot of countries will adopt bitcoin as a legal tender.
1795  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it legal for our kids to learn trade? on: March 08, 2023, 08:54:16 AM
Depends on your country's law OP. Most countries are requiring 18 as its minimum. Nonetheless, if someone below 18 years of age is addicted to charts and technical analysis and was doing well, the guardians or parents can simply create an account for the kid to use it. If doubtful like your concern OP then why not make him a demo account for him to prove if it is worth it or not? Or you can even provide a real account but with only a minimum balance. Binance minimum spot trade is $10 or $20 only. No leverage trading, of course, otherwise the kid is just biting more than it could chew and must rather focus at school.
1796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what do you expect from cryptocurrency? on: March 07, 2023, 04:26:07 PM
The world economy will recover and won't turn worst as some others predicted. The bitcoin halving will remain a crypto bull run next year and the following year. I expect ATHs will be reached once again on bitcoin and some altcoins. I am getting pumped and excited although I really really need more funds in order to take advantage of the coming bull run. But I guess I am not selling my house anymore. Just most of my stocks' investments will be shifted to cryptocurrencies by this year or next year. I expect a lot from crypto next year and the following year. I am really hoping that I can recover everything that I lost last 2018, the pandemic and global crisis wherein lots of businesses were closed.
It will recover but I think not in a great extent as there are some countries who can't keep up with the pace. Bitcoin halving and crypto bull run is not the same but many of us think that halving can trigger a crypto bull run. Well, let see about that. I am not saying that I am not optimistic but I was also like you who still believe for a new ATH on BTC and other cryptos.

You are not selling your house anymore, but does it mean you already sold your other house before? Dang. You're right, don't sell the thing that you still need because there are still a risk in investing in Bitcoin. You must not transfer all your other assets in crypto. Just let them as is, and treat them as a part of diversification.
Bitcoin price growth and altcoins won't be the same as before so I am a little more conservative here. Maybe $100k for bitcoin is achievable. Even at that price, there'll be a lot of money put into it in order to reach that price.

No mate, this is my first house. But in 2018 I was forced to sacrifice more than 10 bitcoins at $3k+ each just to make sure I have funds available to pay the last remaining balance once it's completed. What's in my head right now is to focus on crypto and then diversify again at the start of 2026.
1797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 07, 2023, 04:05:48 PM
If they reach up to playoffs then Suns and Mavs will face up then this is exciting game to watch since for sure we can see more heated arguments between those guys.
They might meet, and if they do in the first round, only one of them will continue to the second round. I believe the Warriors are still the team to beat, as they are still underrated despite winning the championship. With the betting odds, it looks like other teams are favored, especially the Celtics and the Bucks, to win the championship.

But the Suns are too upgraded compared to Luka and the Mavericks. I don't trust Kyrie since leaving Cleveland. Either he is injured or he will do some controversies to catch public attention. Either way, Kyrie is nothing compared to the great KD. And even without these 2 former Brooklyn players being shipped, the Suns are already a trio of superstars compared to Dallas with Luka only. I think many Suns fans are just butt hurt and were not able to move on after its team achieved the best record in the NBA but only to exit in the 2nd round after being shamed by Luka single-handedly. I like KD but now I want the Suns not to win a title with Booker. Cheesy

GSW is a dark horse once the playoffs begin. Playoff games are too different compared to these regular games. GSW is too experienced and has chemistry proven once the biggest games of the NBA start. Although I also believe that Boston and Milwaukee are the strongest teams this season. I am an underdog guy though, so I hope teams like the Kings and Denver are the ones getting the title.
1798  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and education on: March 07, 2023, 03:45:38 PM
Education does not guarantee success but education will help you more in pursuing your dreams.
Actually it depends on one's mindset in measuring success in what way. However, many people say that success does not need higher education. For me, that is wrong. If for example someone says that success is measured by success in terms of work and wealth, maybe that's true.
But actually when a child is smart in higher education it means that he has also been successful in the academic field.

True. It's a no-brainer to choose between an educated and a non-educated as to who will become more successful. It's like 2 kids with the same IQ, the other one went to college while the other one didn't. After 5 years, obviously, the one with a degree will end up having better and more enhanced skills. Of course, there are always no guarantees in life, it could be that the other 1 that has no degree was able to grow his little business while the degree holder just graduated college. But chances are, the ones with degrees will be more successful than those that stopped schooling. Maybe 8 out of 10 or 1 out of 10 degree holders have a better success rate.
1799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 07, 2023, 03:23:50 PM
Donaire will ask for 60% of the purse and the fight will stall. He is using his position to demand more money but I think it is because he is scared of losing and does not want that on his record close to his retirement and if he takes the fight he will want a lot of money for the risk. He could just schedule 2/3 lower profile fights and end his career and I think that will happen because there is no way his opponents will accept 30-40% of the purse to fight him.

Hmm, Donaire scared of losing at this point in his career? I really doubt that.

If he does, then we shouldn't see him having a rematch with Naoya Inoue where he already knows how dominant the monster is during their first meetup even suffering a fatal blow from him but still ended with Inoue winning a "unanimous decision".

Using his position to demand more money? The WBC assigned his next scheduled fight for the vacant WBC Bantamweight title which does make sense because he's the current Rank 1 on WBC's bantamweight rankings and regardless of the split, it will be pushed through.
Both Moloney and Donaire are not scared to face each other, both faced Inoue knowing they were underdogs and were expected to get KO'd. When the WBC announced both fighters to face each other, team Moloney in Australia was interviewed and they were very excited about the fight and are hoping that they can bring the fight to Australia. I haven't heard nor read Donaire's reaction to the announcement but there is no way that he is scared of Moloney too. It was Bob Arum, the promoter of Moloney that issued the statement that they no longer want to pursue the WBC belt saying they do not want to get involved with Probellum (Donaire's promoter) after it was linked to the Kinahans (a powerful Irish mob wanted in the US). Whether Arum is just using an alibi (he's been linked with the Kinahans too) or not, the cancellation was not because of Moloney or Donaire. I believe Arum realized that the WBO route is far easier for Moloney to become a champion.

With regard to the purse split. Isn't it 50/50 when it is for a vacant belt? Unless a deal is reached to avoid a purse bid. So I doubt Donaire demanded the bigger purse. Unless Probellum can offer a satisfying offer to Santiago to prevent a purse bid which would probably guarantee a bigger purse for Donaire since he is obviously the bigger market of the two.
1800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 07, 2023, 02:57:53 PM
^ Yeah, it's going to be full of *bleep* and *bleep* in this press conference. Both are huge trash talkers and we know that when to fighters like to bad mouth against each other, it's hard to stop.

Did the venue though has been announced yet?

I now they are targeting Las Vegas for this fight and there are 2 venues vying for that slot and I might have missed the official place of this fight, just saying.

Yes, that is expected mate but that will be fun to see because this fight is a bit personal for them both. They've been dancing back and forth on the internet for some years now and fortunately, it's happening and will take place in April 22 at Las Vegas, Nevada.

The venue is still TBA, I'm thinking that organizers will first feel the people's response towards their tickets on the first few days of selling it so that they could tell which place is more suitable to cater a large crowd. After that, the place will be finalized and as well as the PPV price.
We'll see if they will actually dare to trash-talk face-to-face. Cheesy Maybe they can bark at each other online but can't do it face-to-face. Cheesy And it'll be fun to see how the other top fighters that are also throwing bombs at each other like Haney, Shakur, and Lopez. These Top Rank guys will probably laugh at this PPV event but with no real belts on the line. I really hope that the winner of this fight will go ahead and face real competition and not go back to the usual cherry-picking of opponents.

Baofeng mentioned before the 70k capacity Allegiant Stadium and the arenas of T-Mobile and MGM Grand. And as I mentioned earlier, I really doubt a stadium will be used in this fight. Boxing promoters in the US will most likely stick to boxing-proven venues like the MGM and T-Mobile, especially in a Vegas fight. Tickets will be more expensive of course compared to making this event in a stadium.
