No, it is even some sort of proudness, since I am rather successful. Gambling is given a bad image because of the depressive people that lost everything, but when practiced responsibly, I consider it an healthy hobby just as horse betting or national lottery can be.

Maybe I'm not ashamed of being a gambler, but I'm not too proud of that either because with myself, I gamble as a weekend recreation, it helps me relax after a busy work week. With the people around me and my family, they view gambling as a social evils, something illegal, they want me to stay away and stop gambling, maybe they are right and they want good for me. Actually, I do not feel ashamed because I play with my money and I do not influence others but I can not be proud because so many people talk bad and curious about the problem I gamble, feeling really uncomfortable when people talk about you

In many cultures and countries is gambling consider as a bad thing which only the poorest and silliest ones do. Many gamblers try to hide that they gamble from their friends and families and feel really shameful for that. Do you consider gambling as a bad thing? Do you feel shameful or proud for being a gambler? If it is shame what you feel what do you about it? How do you hide you're a gambler and who do you hide it from?

Yeah ofcourse i consider gambling as a bad thing because it always results into being broke financially and sometimes lead on family problem from what i have seen and read on news.I do not feel shameful on gambling since im not on it for a long time and i dont gamble with my money in.I dont hide my gambling career to anyone im open from my family and friends.

If we live in a country with a culture that still has a strong element of religion and  people know us as a gambler even though we gamble with our own money and never give anyone else a trouble, we will still get a very bad image and that's why I have to be embarrassed. To prevent things that could lead me to get a problem when one or more people near me knowing my habit,  I have to keep it secret as long as I can.

I think you are very lucky that you yourself claim to be successful. Mostly gamblers lose a lot and tell they are very unlucky. I guess you are just used in betting national lottery and horse betting that's why. But don't push your luck further that it might run out and end your successful gambling career.

things that can make you shame in gambling is when you have to face a religious person ,
usually they don't want to socialize with you and even mocking you ,
just ignore it and keep moving forward ,
religion is not a good pair with gambling.

It is not a hobby and if you consider it as a hobby then I can say that you are already addicted as well. If you can control and afford what you are gambling then I guess it is fine however if you cant then stop right now. It is not about being shameful or not, save yourself before you ruin yourself with your addiction

I think you are very lucky that you yourself claim to be successful. Mostly gamblers lose a lot and tell they are very unlucky. I guess you are just used in betting national lottery and horse betting that's why. But don't push your luck further that it might run out and end your successful gambling career.

I disagree, gambling is not the thing for us to be proud of, because first, it is a sin (if we are going to ask the bible) and being proud of it because you are now successful by being lucky in gambling is not worth to be proud at all. Because it is more better if we are going to earn money in a decent way, and it is the real thing to be proud of, and not gambling. Though we have different opinions about it, I'm just saying mine.

Nice to hear that. Hope that you can continue to make money with your methods. remember: nothing last forever and there will be a time you will lose your money and you will feel dissapointed about that. Try to adapt with new change and dont be sad when you lose

I can bet on the fact that the same guy if continues gambling for a month he will come back here and tell everyone that he lost from gambling and advice other's not to do it.

The fact he is new to gambling is the only excuse he has, actually gambling is just like spending money, you enjoy in the beginning and after a certain time you feel very very depressed and feel like you made the biggest mistake of your life.

As said that's not necessary that everyone at least needs to gamble once in their lifetime. It depends on the users, personally with gambling if he once taste it, then surely he'll be using it often. This is not addiction but an positive hope of earning will strike his mind. So nothing is there to be ashamed off with gambling until we don't harm others.

We don't judge our fellow gambler because we have different purpose in doing it, although I believe that majority are doing it to win instant money but in time they will realize that they are on an almost impossible mission. As long as we have our limit, we will clearly see what is good for us, if we keep losing that means it's not fun anymore, hence we have to put only a small amount of bets to minimize our loses and will have a little fun in gambling.

I think if gambling using borrowed money from someone else is a bad thing. Gambling is not too good, many people view gambling as bad. And playing gambling using the money we borrow is a shame in the eyes of people. If you're not embarrassed to gamble on borrowed money, then you have a thick facial skin.

Yeah I'd rather gamble my own money and being called as a gambler rather than gambling other's money. We don't have to be ashamed of it because gambling is just a normal thing and it's been recognized by the government. But with the result of it, you are the only one to determine and choose the path that you are going.
