1721  Economy / Reputation / Re: DT Members with Sig bans. on: May 21, 2019, 06:18:00 PM
While I generally only exclude people cased on the feedback accuracy, I have also placed exclusions for what I consider to be overreactions or a misuse of their perceived power as a DT member, I've done this for non DT as well. That generally applies to a newer member who cultivated enough trust to find their way in. I'll admit I rarely know or care who is actually on DT-1.

For me personally this situation shows poor judgement on their part, but needs to be reviewed based on each case. If they have anything less than this reaction:

I have no problem with my “I’m an idiot and fckd up” banner. I’d have accepted much worse.  I deserve it, and so does anyone else who had or will be issued one. We all make mistakes in life, it’s about acknowledging them, getting back up, correcting your mistakes, moving on, and doing better.

I might consider them to have poor character and be weary of including them in my list, as they may require more monitoring than it is worth. I agree that we all make mistakes and in the same way we shouldn't be leaving negative feedback for these users I wouldn't outright exclude them. A lot of these members have redeemed themselves over time and that's the only reason they aren't permabanned. There are other who are still whining about the leniency they've been shown this would be enough for me to remove them from my list but not necessarily exclude them. I see that lack of self awareness as problematic and possibly a reflection of the feedback they may leave.

The thing is given enough time anyone can redeem or disqualify themselves in my eyes, so my list can remain fluid.
1722  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: May 21, 2019, 02:28:58 PM
Thanks Phil that's who responded to my email this time around. I'm waiting on an update for the shipdate as well, not to disappointed though. This way I can get my spare parts for the M10 shipped out at the same time. Just wondering did any of us grab anything besides the M20S, might not be a lot of diversity in these reviews Smiley.

I have been contacted and told mine will Ship May 31 or June 1.

I will do a youtube on it and attach it to your review.
As always if you want to sell it off after your review I will buy it from you.
I will take it and put it in Clifton Buildout.

Pretty sweet deal, to be able to get in on that now. Looking forward to your review as well Hagss.
1723  Other / Meta / Re: Division of Powers on: May 21, 2019, 03:29:25 AM
Thanks QS, I'll get that worded in there. I'll also let yazher know of the changes as they reached out today and translated this topic to their local board.

1725  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Exchanging Bitcoin, Paypal & Skrill on: May 21, 2019, 12:09:41 AM
Bill will be unavailable for the next 60 days or so. So do not expect a reply from them for the time being.

Apologies if things have changes.
1726  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: May 20, 2019, 05:14:41 PM
Maybe I have no idea but I doubt it. It could be more related to the fact that we having been running with extra specially added members for a while.

Given the current climate I wouldn't rush to accept people either, could be more unexpected bans in the community.
1727  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: May 20, 2019, 02:53:22 PM
Yeah I figured there was going to be a delay, when I checked with them last week and they were very low on details. Who do you chat with about it, I'm having a hard time figuring out the best ways to communicate with them. Seems to be telegram, but I'm not sure what Shaun's (might have spelled it wrong) role is there. I'm going to see if I had a name from my communication from when I ordered the demo.

I'm looking to try and have them package a PSU and bridge board to send out with my demo so I can see what part is lame on my M10. It's tough working through the language barrier at times when you throw them a non standard situation.
1728  Economy / Reputation / Re: I am not doing any escrows for ChrisLandin on: May 20, 2019, 02:42:38 PM
I knew this would be moved here.

I figured the same, Chris Likely reported it. They like to use the system to suite their needs. A lot of people have had mini discussions here and there in other threads. I think when I get some time over the next few days maybe I'll reach out to some interested parties and try and come up with a compelling argument for change. I try to keep an open mind but I don't think restricting locked or self-mod topics (from marketplace) all together or to some degree will be anything but a net positive.
1729  Economy / Auctions / Re: 3 Bitcointalk Members with Orig Email Buy it now $30 on: May 20, 2019, 02:10:16 PM
You are wrong.

I sold over 20 Hero+ accounts in past 2 years and not a single one is used in any scams.
People are buying accounts mostly to use them in signatures campaigns and get some money. With the merit system, buying is the only way to obtain a Hero+ account.

No you are wrong. I didn't buy my hero account. It is the laziest way to come here and try to earn without doing any learning.

Account sales are a plague, and serve no benefit to anyone other than the greedy individuals on both sides of the deal.
1730  Economy / Reputation / Re: I am not doing any escrows for ChrisLandin on: May 20, 2019, 03:25:10 AM
Good call Phil. That's right up there with the escrow everything but shipping.  I'll always appreciate you helping me and others out in 2017 when that happened.

Chris - Either you escrow the full amount or you escrow none. That includes having the buyer put shipping costs in escrow. Anything less is not safe for the  buyer. If your gear is legit then you are safe.
1731  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: May 20, 2019, 12:31:02 AM
I think it was any of the units under 800$ were tariff free. I know there were coupons out when they went over 799, that brought them low enough. Iirc it is only the purchase price that matters not the shipping.
1732  Economy / Lending / Re: DarkStar's Loans | No Collateral Required | Lowest Interest* | 0.1%-0.333% Daily on: May 19, 2019, 08:44:52 PM
Threads looking good. I just noticed a forgotten word I believe in the OP - No Collateral portion

~snip~
No Collateral Loans
The information below this header only applies to loans that are not covered by collateral.

~snip~

I'm sure you've already thought of this and maybe the danger has passed. There's a chance the Bot might still pick up some of the members you wouldn't expect for Plagiarism. It's just an additional bit of risk until it's completed the first sweep whenever that is. Other than that good luck with everything, should I ever need again you will be my first stop.  Wink
1733  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying up to 2btc on: May 19, 2019, 07:14:04 PM
I read the post quite clearly. I made my response a little ambiguous so I'll elaborate a little.

First scenario is someone who doesn't want to pay taxes in their country if they apply, would probably accept a 3% loss, as opposed to a 10-40% loss in taxes.
Second scenario is someone who values their privacy and doesn't want to many deals made in the same fashion (exchanges, previous trades) might happily pay 3% to have another option.

Then there's the fact that the price can easily fluctuate this much either way so if you first have to get it to an exchange and pay any associated fees, it could be worth it to jump on this offer. Regardless people can come here and place whatever they want for their terms, they either find someone or they don't.

PDUH30HV19 Tripp Lite PDU, 30A, 4 Outlets (C19) x 3

I'm curious what are you asking for this model and are you willing to ship to Canada? I'm in no rush so just get back to me when you can
1735  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying up to 2btc on: May 19, 2019, 06:45:38 PM
only foolish who will be -3%. do you think people will sell under market price while they can sell above market price?

People do it all the time. There are a lot of people out there that would rather get 97% of what they may get on an exchange than have their dealing known or tracked. Getting the percentages to go your way just depend on who you are dealing with and how much they're willing to wiggle; most people will try and push this to a 1:1 deal.
1736  Other / Meta / Re: Posting guidelines for [WTS] Physical Goods - Marketplace on: May 19, 2019, 06:00:13 PM
~snip~
I added a section at the end. Feel free to let me know if you feel I missed something. Thanks for the suggestion

I think this would make a good candidate for an unofficial subforum rules stickie.
Glad you find the content worthwhile. I believe around the time I created it a Mod from a different board had PM'd about getting it added. Nothing ever happened with that so I use it as a link when I find threads that are lacking in the marketplace.

~snip~
I have seen some people who use the lock-topic to try and avoid spam. I still think it's best to just report posts to be dealt with, because most are using this as an attempt to scam users. I'd personally like to see no unlocking of locked-topics or self modding in sales threads, they're overwhelmingly scammy. Some may find this to restrictive, so in the meantime I just try to spread awareness.
1737  Other / Meta / Re: What rules apply in Lending? on: May 19, 2019, 05:48:07 PM
Odds are it is best to just place it in with your current thread. You'll just have to create another section to your OP explaining the format to apply for the different loans, and maybe some stipulations about the types of candidates you're looking for (if you're placing restrictions).

While it is a similar service there are differences, and I'd say there are enough you may be able to warrant a second topic. Have you considered a PM to Cyrus or Hilariousandco for their opinion.

Seeing as the quoted guideline does mention at moderator discretion. I tend to apply it towards the buying and selling of goods, not so much services being offered. That could be that I haven't seen it abused in that way yet.
1738  Other / Meta / Re: Cryptios on: May 19, 2019, 02:54:36 PM
Just a suggestion here, for when you recover a hacked account for someone. Can you please inform them they should delete that accounts posts from the time of the hack. It seems there has been the odd case where a user has had their account returned and then carries on in blissful ignorance until one of the hackers posts gets them into trouble. This could be simply an add-on to the email or whatever recovery message you send. Sorry if you already do this and they just ignore it.

Here is the case that made me think of it this morning. AlexRus227

My account was hacked. Almost a year I unlocked it. And after the victory, my account was thrown into the ban for what I did not write. These articles were not written by me !!!

1739  Other / Meta / Re: hacked account SIGN MESSAGE NVC (confirmed) Unlocked but banned !!! on: May 19, 2019, 02:42:30 PM
You might not even need to create a new thread. In your Ban message there should have been an email for a Ban appeal. That would be where I start after this I would also send one more. Considering the forum has a contract company handling recoveries they were likely the ones who recovered your account.

It might be worth following this Recovering hacked/lost accounts, if you email them just explain your case and mention that you've already emailed Ban appeals. This might make it easier for an Admin to review your Ban appeal, there is also an Admin at the head of this team.

This whole process may take some time as they have been reviewing a lot of bans recently. When you recover your account be sure to clean up all the hackers messages this time.
1740  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitdeer (Plagiarism) - Theft of another's work. on: May 19, 2019, 02:22:16 PM
Also, they appear to be just another cloud mining scam / ponzi scheme.

If I'm thinking the right company this is essentially Bitmain's newest cloud mining operation, they just re-branded and launched under this branch as I believe their previous service was seeing dwindling sales/customer satisfaction. They are as legitimate as they can be for this type of service. Laughable at how lazy they were in creating their own banner.
