1981  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your take on this crypto gambling use case idea? on: January 23, 2023, 01:02:14 PM
In the past, there were casinos that started their own tokens and they also accept other coins like bitcoin and ethereum among others. Now they are all gone, let alone if a casino mandates all of its players to use their own tokens for their games. I don't think it works well unless the casino has deep funds in order to have a lot of promotions that are way better than most casinos in order to entice gamblers to register. But still in the long run those casinos that offer multiple coins for gamblers to select will prevail.

I would also prefer to use bitcoin and maybe some other top coins for my bets.

I always wanted Denver Nuggets to surpass Boston and lead the overall NBA win-loss race. But today its 9-game winning streak ended. Unlucky for them since Jokic is out and we do not know how long he will sit. MPJ was also absent but I thought that they can continue their winning ways with Murray, Gordon, and KCP running the offense. Bet lost as Oklahoma's thunder torched them in a close game. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a different animal this season and OKC should start building the team around him.

Wild Lakers win, Grizzlies thought that they are cruising into the game, but the Lakers didn't give up and made defensive stops specially in the last 4 minutes of the game. I think it was just the breaks for them, Dennis with a steal and then the go ahead basket and lead.

Brandon Clarke missing the 2nd free throw that could have tied the game.

So the 11 game winning streak has been put on a stop by the Lakers.

It was funny how the Lakers tried to shut down the offense of Ja Morant. The defense was good. I mean Ja still performed but it was probably his worst field goal percentage this season where he seemed to become unstoppable. There was also a very good but unusual contribution there by Russ.  What can I say? The Los Angeles Lakers always step up when they are playing against the top teams. They are still fighting for a spot in the playoffs despite not having AD. But I really believe they can still make it at least in the play-ins because AD is coming back before the end of the regular season. And there's still time before the trade deadline, maybe the Lakers will consider some movements to enhance their roster.
1987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK on: January 21, 2023, 01:21:23 PM
Usyk tweeted something to Fury earlier. It seems like he remained fit during the long holidays. I bet Belly gained a lot of weight after the long holidays. Weird it's the side of Fury that wanted a March date. Fury will be burning some of his fats in order to be a little quicker in order to catch Usyk.

If Fury loses a little fat, then this is unlikely to help him compare with Usyk in terms of speed, at least approximately. Usyk has always maintained a good shape, this should be done by every professional. And Fury does not know what he wants, then he decides to end his career (and it is clear that in this case for him hard to find motivation for intensive training), but an athlete must always keep himself in good shape, although we are talking about Fury, he not particularly worried about it.

Being heavy means the footwork and hand speed will be slower. Tyson Fury knows how to use his weight and adjusts when necessary. It is true that he cannot be quicker than Usyk but adding a little quickness helps. There were reasons why Tyson Fury went lighter than his usual weight against the smart yet slower Wladimir Klitschko because he needs his lateral movements and quickness to outmaneuver the long-time champion. Tyson Fury went heavier than usual in the 2nd and 3rd fights against Deontay Wilder because the American is not fast enough and the impact of those killer blows will be minimized by the added weight.

Usyk is not the usual heavy-handed fighter so I am liking Fury to come in at 250-260 pounds.

So it seems like the Southeast Asian region will be sending new teams for the Lima Major. I kind of like this after the region showed poor performance in the last TI which was supposed to be a home-court advantage. Talon, BOOM, and Fnatic, the former powerhouse teams in the region are likely unable to chase the early lead of the new teams.

I was busy lately on the World Championship of Mobile Legends. I wonder if anybody here playing and following that mobile game. I am starting to lessen my DOTA 2 games since I do have much extra time to play whereas in Mobile Legends a rank game ends usually in 12 to 18 minutes.
1989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: January 21, 2023, 12:33:10 PM
We all know that the favorite he is artur beterbiev because as we all know how he fight inside the ring he has a record of 18- 0 while Anthony yarde has a 22 - 2 record but one thing is for sure this fight will be a good fight for both fighter their experience of fighting. Will lead them to be more tough in defense and a good open punch. So for this fight ill go for Artur Beterbiev and for sure until the end of the last round they will give us a good fight.

Most likely this is a good fight since both fighters are explosive and capable of knocking out each other. Unless both of them will try to fight safely knowing a single mistake can put them to sleep. Everyone is expecting Beterbiev to have an easy fight here but we will see. I am also expecting Beterbiev to have an easy destruction on Yarde. Unless Beterbiev's age stops him from doing what his mind wanted to do. Let's not forget Beterbiev's age is past the prime for a normal fighter. And if not Yarde, Beterbiev will lose sooner or later if he won't retire.

Another factor for Yarde to take advantage of is the fight happening in his own backyard. Lucky for him that a 3-belt champion is the one traveling on his home turf. The last time Beterbiev fought in the UK was when he lost to the current unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in London Olympics. I am just hoping that the officiating will be done fairly.
1990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a good idea to just register on casino on: January 20, 2023, 02:23:10 PM
It depends on our tastes. Some people prefer to remain private and as much as possible stay away from KYC. There were casinos in the past that offered some bonuses but I need to complete their KYC so I just ignored them. I can do KYC because I am not doing anything illegal but I also just want to stay away from KYC and remain private as much as possible. So I also have nothing on people that don't care about filling out a lot of KYC to many different sites for the bonuses they offer. And it is also the right of the casino to impose KYC for participants that joined their promotions to avoid abuse.
1991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [btc]-cookies on: January 20, 2023, 02:13:34 PM
I like it mate. I always feel happy every time I see stuff like this.

During 2017, I was also thinking of printing some shirts and stickers with the bitcoin logo but in the end, I didn't do it because I want to remain private and not give people a clue that I am a bitcoin believer. The same thing happened last 2018, I was so tempted to put some bitcoin stickers on the cars and some stuff on my new house. But the same privacy issue always stopped me from doing it. It's funny that some of my bitcoin stickers, cards, and other collections remained hidden. I do not want them to be given too. Cheesy
1992  Economy / Economics / Re: Another Boom for the crypto market. on: January 20, 2023, 01:53:07 PM
I must admit that I like what Binance is doing. They are knocking on the doors of many countries in order for them to operate legally and within authorities' specific regulations. This is probably one of the secrets to the longevity of Binance at the top. Prior to them, there was Poloniex then Bittrex, and then the Korean, Chinese, and Japanese exchanges that also made it to the top. But Binance has remained at the top for some years now. Maybe it will be toppled soon but I just hope it is not the way FTX lost its ranking.
1993  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you appreciate more Desktop or Phone on: January 20, 2023, 01:33:37 PM
Same here, I also prefer to use a desktop. Phones are just too small and take more time than when using a desktop where we can easily do a lot. On the desktop, we can have as many windows and browsers simultaneously. I always find it hard when doing deep research and analysis on my phone when I want to bet on a certain sport. When it comes to casino games, I can only count the times when I tried playing using a phone. And as OP mentioned, I also do not want to have a lot of apps on my phone, I want my screen clean, simple, and easy. And there are also potential risks in apps.
1994  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone out there doing money by trading? How? on: January 20, 2023, 01:13:30 PM
There are still many traders up to now OP. But I do think that there are only very few traders doing it for a living. Most long-time traders most likely have many sources of income or even have regular jobs just like those that I've met before. I am not really a fan of those so-called traders that are hyping themselves. They are proud to tell people that they trade for a living but are actually selling their strategies and trying to become mentors to newbies. Because if they are really profitable in their trades they do not need to ask for money from other people. Maybe they can ask for affordable fees for their effort but some of them are asking for $2,000 or even more which is insane.
It is a fatal mistake that few traders do to trade for a living because trading has gains and profits, but also there is undoubtedly a possibility of loss, it should not depend on trading profits mainly, the right thing is that we trade alongside our job or alongside any source of income for us, and trading is a secondary thing. Long-term trading can bring us good profits if we have sufficient experience, strategies, and the ability to deal with charts, technical analysis, and the use of stop-losses. Whoever sells his strategies to beginners is definitely deceiving them, because there is no guarantee that these strategies that worked with this person will succeed with beginners, so self-reliance, learning, and patience is the best solution.

Exactly. Just a few hours ago I commented on a Facebook ad about a company offering people to learn how to trade. They deleted my comments and blocked me when I tried to respond to a comment that their training fee is $10k. They also try to convince people that they offer a discounted price for their early participants and that they only need to pay $1.6k which is still ridiculous IMO. Their style is to host free seminars in order to convince people. In the seminar that I joined before, they will boast that they are earning a minimum of a thousand dollars per day. It's funny, because if they are really earning that huge amount daily, then they should be traveling and relaxing, instead they are traveling to convince people and even spend money to have their ads on Facebook and Youtube.
1995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: January 20, 2023, 12:51:24 PM
Quick update, according to reports, the official date for this fight is March 25.

Quote
BoxingScene.com has learned that Benavidez and Plant will fight March 25 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Phoenix’s Benavidez (26-0, 23 KOs) and Plant (22-1, 13 KOs), a native of Ashland City, Tennessee, jointly announced through their social media accounts November 3 that they agreed to contractual terms.

https://www.boxingscene.com/david-benavidez-caleb-plant-ppv-fight-set-march-25-mgm-grand-las-vegas--171895

So it's going to be a big fight, as it will be held in MGM in Vegas, good week for boxing then and for gamblers alike as they can travel to Vegas that weekend to support their boy in this fight.

However, the odds are still not listed on our favorite sports bookies, but I'm seeing Benavidez as a slight favorite here.

Good thing the fight is happening in a neutral venue. And Arizona fans of Benavidez can travel and enjoy the weekend in Vegas since it is only a few-hour drive or probably an hour by plane.

I haven't seen nor checked the odds too and I agree that the younger and undefeated Benavidez will be the favorite here. My prediction is Benavidez will be the favorite at 1.50+/- something. It's interesting if Plant's slickness can survive the aggression and powerful punches of Benavidez. I am now rooting for Plant and hopefully, he can get a win over this arrogant kid. Although, the experts' pick here will be by Benavidez KO/TKO.

And to our boxing fans, don't forget to watch this weekend the defense of unified champion Artur Beterbiev against Anthony Yarde in London, England.

1997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still holding your coins #btc on: January 19, 2023, 02:40:28 PM
Maybe the newbies are the only ones that chickened out and sold their bitcoins when the price bounced back to $20k+ happened. The more experienced forum members probably have the halving year and the following year on their minds right now. The pre-halving year just started so why sell our bitcoins right away when according to the bitcoin price history, the halving year and the following year always reach higher than its last ATHs? We need to HODL and buy more while bitcoin hasn't reached half of its former ATH value.

1999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 19, 2023, 02:20:06 PM
The trade deadline is fast approaching. So far, there are no major changes in different teams. I was expecting earlier that some players in Utah will be traded for more future first-round draft picks. And as usual, there are too many writers that always bring the name of the Lakers for clout. I don't even know if the Lakers' management changed its decision to let go of another future first-round draft pick in order to get rid of Westbrook's huge contract. Another team that I am expecting to make an aggressive move is Dallas which is currently struggling with its defense. Luka Doncic badly needed help.
2000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I keep my BNB or Sell it? on: January 19, 2023, 02:00:07 PM
If I were you OP. I will swap $400 into BTC. $150 each for ETH and BNB. For the remaining $100, you choose any other altcoins that have the potential to grow x20 or even more. The other altcoin that is in my head is Syscoin. Syscoin, like the other surviving altcoins pumped up after each bitcoin halving years. It also has a small market cap which means it is not that hard to pump once the whales start buying. I also continue to hold BNB because I think Binance will stay at the top among exchanges over the years and its chain is also starting to gain a huge market among new projects. I do not need to explain why I also have ETH because it is always next to BTC.
