2101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 29, 2016, 06:29:41 AM
The Rockets vs OKC, which side would you guys bet? Or I suppose I should go for the over 220.
2102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a manipulated coin? on: January 29, 2016, 06:14:49 AM
Perhaps bitcoin is manipulated in one way or another, but honestly I believe it's still more free than most commodities. Just look at oil at the moment, OPEC manipulated it for decades and look it's still tumbling now. There are a lot of factors but that's the idea.
2103  Economy / Speculation / Re: A new panic wave is growing. on: January 29, 2016, 03:59:08 AM
If this goes on we'll be on a crisis, perhaps we'll even see new record lows.
2104  Other / Archival / Re: Do you think bitcoins will disapear or become unused? on: January 29, 2016, 02:40:13 AM
I think a more appropriate rephrasing of the question is what should be done with the ghost coins. Should they be burned or left unused as it is?
2105  Economy / Digital goods / Re: How much would a simple website cost? on: January 29, 2016, 02:28:00 AM
Approximately 10 bucks for the domain, and 2 to 5 bucks per month hosting. That is if you'll grab a free or nulled theme plus use wordpress, which should basically cover all what you should need.

If you need a coupon with hosting, try Hostwinds, use 99BTCOFF coupon for 99% discount on your first month.
2106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshis stash is not as large as some think on: January 28, 2016, 11:40:29 PM
I don't really think it really matters how much he has.
I doubt he will dump them all at a time as that would crash bitcoin

Well quite frankly I think if he's still out there he doesn't have access to those wallets anymore.
2107  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2016 crash has begun! on: January 28, 2016, 10:32:34 PM
The crash has began indeed but it will be no problem for the bitcoin at all.

The bitcoin is low at the moment so invest now its still possible.

We gonna make profit when the halving has been done, when the price will be raising.

The floor now is at $380, if this continues to go down we might see a floor of $350 by next week. Let's hope this is a prequel to another record-high.
2108  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 21 Bitcoin Computer on: January 28, 2016, 10:28:49 PM
I like the idea of it. I think it's great that stuff like this is available. The people who are gonna buy it will be sharp enough to make their own ones so it does seem pointless. I don't read much about it on here. Are many people actively tinkering away with one of them?

There are people that have tinkered with them, but OregonMines has it spot on:

This is not what the 21Co Bitcoin computer is for.
The purpose of it is for backend software, it just happens to also mine Bitcoin for development purposes so you can test your code.

Honestly it is a R-pi with a cool chip on it. I run a R-pi with USB miners and a computer with a full node. Currently over 60GB. I bet you could setup an R-PI with a hard drive or something and run a full node for less than $100. (R-Pi $30, 1TB HDD $50, USB to Sata $15)

The hardest thing to swallow with this 21btc R-pi is it's too expensive, for the small advantage of getting to mine a little bit.
2109  Economy / Speculation / Re: Aren't we in a state of denial? on: January 28, 2016, 03:31:07 PM
Where do you think we are now in that cycle, of course with regards to the coming halving. I suppose we're still at optimism?
2110  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you still believe in bitcoin on: January 28, 2016, 03:14:22 PM
Seems a huge chunk of the community believes in BTC because of the notion that BTC would bring them profits. Reality indeed.
2111  Economy / Speculation / Re: should i go 50/50 with gold and bitcoin? on: January 28, 2016, 03:12:14 PM
thank all for the advise ive decided to go 20% on gold.  if bitcoin drops around 200 ish i will buy btc again and re sell if it goes to 400 ive effectively doubled my money this year so i think its a balanced move

depending on bitcoins success/failure i will monitor this and adjust ratio

If Bitcoin gets back down to $200 range. It will be a correction that even the most (reasonably) bearish of punters will not have expected prior to the halving. If you want to wait on a pullback (wise decision), then I think you would be better served looking for an entry in mid $300s.

Infact, I will tell you now. Bitcoin aint going back down to the $200 range before the halving.

IMO the best bet would be to stay variable, like right now is the best time to accumulate BTC so have a larger bite of your portfolio leaning towards BTC I'd advice to keep 5-8% in liquid cash should something interesting would happen to the market - with that at least you'd be flexible.
2112  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info on: January 28, 2016, 03:07:44 PM
I tried the beta too, but not yet making a transaction. I can't find the option where to revert back.

I suppose our next bet would be to use the BlockChain app on our phone?
2113  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Dark marketplaces? on: January 28, 2016, 03:04:29 PM
They obviously play some part... the most traded thing on the dark markets is apparently cannabis, which could be worth tens of billion dollars a year on the global market.
Lets face it, its much less harmful than alcohol and will eventually be legalised, but for now its a big driver for bitcoin.

But the cannabis is legalized in the US now, why would anybody buy from the darknet?

*In some states only, don't forget that.

2114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: January 28, 2016, 02:59:19 PM
Growing your bitcoins is possible by doing any of the three methods

1) Gamble the money with appropriate risk and try to grow.

2) Try trading with altcoins

3) Stock BTC and sell them when cost gets high or buy when low

Well that's not exactly the only ways you can grow your money.

Give a loan, for example.
2115  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nitrogen Sports Rigged on: January 28, 2016, 01:57:10 PM
NitrogenSports has proven more than once that they are one of the most established casinos here at btctalk. Quite frankly you'd need more than what you have right now to convince anyone.

Or, you can always try BetCoin.ag
2116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Comes First: Block Size or Halving? on: January 28, 2016, 01:34:56 PM
Whichever protocol the core devs with the community at large agreeing to would take at least a few months, so yeah, probably the halving would come out first before we can see the full effect of the changes.

Halving first, then blocksize solution. At this point it seems to be that a solution for blocksize will not be found until it really becomes a problem, sadly. Hope that is the other way around.

There is too much drag on the block size increase. But if the community cannot find a solution, the bitcoin will hardfork.

There's no need for a hardfork as far as I know.
2117  Economy / Speculation / Re: It is Buy time! on: January 28, 2016, 03:29:30 AM
I don't like that unicorn analogy with the price though.

yes i bought 1.3 BTC at the time the price of $ 380. I believe bitcoin next month will have a hike. at least if the price already stands at $ 450 I will sell entirely.

The price has reached way past that about a month ago right?
2118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if there is nomore coins to mine? on: January 28, 2016, 03:16:59 AM
Thats ticky, I never mined coins so not sure, but yes probably the end of BTC ?

The miners will still mine for the transaction fees. They are supporting the network, so they will get paid. This will last forever.
I agree here as till bitcoins hold a value and miners profit from their job, this would continue as it is going on now. If bitcoin loses its value and reaches a price that does not help even the miners, they would probably stop mining then and we could say officially that bitcoin is dead. It happened earlier as well when there were very few miners to mine these coins.

I suppose it would all depend on the transaction volumes should that day come. I remember an article regarding that in the past, that the block size should remain at 1mb so there would be higher fees to compensate the miners.
2119  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2020 on: January 28, 2016, 02:36:20 AM
From current condition, i think bitcoin price will be about $5,000 or about 4600 Euros in 2020.
But, if block size stuck at 1MB, bitcoin price will be about $900 or about 828 Euros in 2020.

Could be better if huge company such as Google or Apple accept bitcoin though.

Google? A bit more likely, but Apple? Never. Those guys are all about milking people, they won't bother.

On the other hand, we'll have a clearer prediction for 2020 after we see what happens in the block halving this year.
2120  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do you have Bitcoin? on: January 28, 2016, 01:44:00 AM
As weird as it sounds, I'm using it to save up. It's easier than opening another bank account.
