881  Economy / Gambling / Re: Top 50 gambling Instagram & TikTok accounts on: July 02, 2023, 11:06:23 PM
You know, even if you compile lists of influencers known on social media platforms like tiktok or Instagram with millions of followers, do you think the followers who support those influencers are because of gambling? If you look at the content of each influencer, it's not about gambling, they just insert it, because the influencers are taking a chance that they have something to gamble with what they promote.
This means that their million followers are also irrelevant if none of them will play gambling on what they advertise, which is also useless, because most of the followers are not gamblers.

I agree with you on this one.

The reason on why most social media promoters have lots of followers are due to their original content. Some online gambling websites approach these said influencers to insert an advertisement on a given gambling platform.

I remember, I was watching this YouTuber who frequently shares fails and jokes. After 1-2 years of being famous, he then inserted a promotion and advertisement about a said gambling website at the end of his videos. Though I do understand that they have to make a living, it somehow turned me off a bit.
882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 02, 2023, 10:38:12 PM
I came across an article How Old Do You Have to Be to Gamble in USA?. In this article, i saw that the minimum age to gamble is between 18 to 21 years. I wonder if the online casino do follow this minimum age for gambling.

Yes, the gambling sites have our age data through the KYC documents. Do they ever restrict anyone who is underage to not to gamble?

Yes, gambling websites may restrict or even ban users if they discover that the account is being used by an underage person. Depending on the ToS of a specific gambling website, a person of legal age is a pre-requisite in order for them to be able to gamble at their website.

Failure to comply with these requirements may compel the said gambling website to ban or deny your withdrawals at any time.

Quote
Also, if we find any site allowing minors to gamble, can legal action be taken against them?

As far as I know, this depends upon the jurisdiction of the said gambling website. If it is a land-based casino, then you may report this to your local enforcement agencies. If it is an online casino, the best thing that you could do is to report it to this forum for awareness of everyone.
883  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk; a school on its own. on: July 01, 2023, 11:59:14 PM
I am aways very grateful that I am part of this community, and I don't know how my life would have been If I wasn't part this amazing community.I termed it a school due to how broad it is,and how impactful it's knowledge has been on us.So many persons started this forum knowing nothing about bitcoin, but due to the ideas, topics of discuss, and knowledge shared in this forum, they have known several things, and are also teaching other people about bitcoin. We are here to discover several other things we haven't known about bitcoin, and it is only in this Forum that we can get such information, because we have lots experienced people here.I'm glad to belong to this school of thought," Bitcointalk School of thought."

Bitcointalk forum is just one of those blessings that cannot be thank enough. The opportunities and lessons it provide are truly priceless given on how cryptocurrencies are starting to create its name on the whole financial market. Large conglomerates now acknowledge its potential and on how it can impact investments in the future.

Bearing this in mind, there are lots of knowledgeable and informative posts created by our veterans in this forum. They share all their insights and other investment tips in order to let everyone know about its potential.

Personally, bitcointalk is one of those things that I consider to be one of the greatest thing that I have encountered. Not only did it provide me the opportunity of learning; but it also gave me the opportunity of working online to support my family.
884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be intimidated on: July 01, 2023, 11:52:31 PM
Dear newbies pls don't rush into making Bitcoin investments like selling a property very valuable to you just to impress on the forum or putting in your entire savings to purchasing Bitcoin I am not against making Bitcoin investments but
Before making Bitcoin investments always make sure the odds are safe for you  like some members here will say  "" make investments that will not affect you" in other words make investments with free money  except you have more profiting ideas than hodling

I am sure this is what other investors here do

I definitely agree with your statement.

Just to add, remember that these are investments no matter how form or shape they materialize. There is no hard-and-fast rule when it comes to investments- they require patience, determination, and care in order to maximize the profits. You cannot just leave all of your retirement savings into one (1) investment mechanism and pray that you would reap all the rewards in the future.

Remember that investing in BTC does not guarantee profit in the future. You still must comply and create all the opportunities in order for profit to happen.
885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: KYC propagation beyond my ownership on: July 01, 2023, 06:18:57 PM
I think this kind of scenario speaks on the importance of mixers in the cryptocurrency space. The fact that they can at least hide your transactions make it more safer for you to send your BTCs to someone.

But think of it this way- if you have given paper money to someone and that someone uses it for illegal means, does this mean that you have propagated or enabled the person to commit the wrong done? I think not- it still boils down to the person in which he/she used the BTCs for, whether legally or illegally. If this were the case, I am confident that nothing would happen to you and no one would be able to question your intentions.

If you are really skeptical about it, then you may also exercise the option of purchasing BTCs in exchanges that do not require any KYC documents to be submitted.
886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How is your Gambling Pattern Like? on: July 01, 2023, 04:31:45 PM
Fortunately, my gambling patterns are somehow intermittent- there will be days where I feel gambling; and there are also days where I vowed to myself to never gamble again. Though this may be the case, you can consider that I am stuck in this loop, like an on/off switch.

I usually set 10% of my monthly salary for gambling and I split it for four weeks which mean I only gamble 2.5% every week. I don't set any time before I gamble, I will gamble when I'm free until my bankroll empty. But if I'm lucky and I win some money, I will use that money for gambling in the next month. If I won a big amount money, I would withdraw it immediately after I met the minimum wagering requirement.
Setting a limit and getting fixed to it is really good. Myself have the limit, but the urge to win the lost amount keeps me active throughout the month. During the first week I use the payment for gambling and I loss it. Further I used to wait for the second week's payment and wager to recover the loss and stop.

Things won't be in favour of us and ends in loss. This is the gambling pattern of mine, and at times I've also won and cashed out bitcoin to have fun. I don't have the habit of holding it for the next month's gambling need.

Setting a limit to your bets may be considered one of the effective ways to reduce your activity in gambling websites. If you have limited resources at your disposal, you are somehow forced to stop at a certain threshold if you reached the capped of your gambling expenditures.
887  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you come up with reliable predictions for prices? on: June 30, 2023, 11:41:14 PM
I've seen a lot of you looking at Bitcoin charts and trying to predict prices. Do I have to remember certain rules or be really good at technical analysis to make accurate predictions? What tools or methods do you use to predict prices? I have enough time and I'm excited to learn the strategies you suggest so I can understand the market better.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1493.0
I have seen some suggestions under some headings but they are too technical for me,(like this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1493.0) Do you have more beginner level suggestions?

There are two (2) ways in order to somehow predict the prices with basis: using extrinsic and intrinsic technical analysis on the price of BTC.

For intrinsic analysis, this include all the factors that a certain cryptocurrency may affect its price. This includes the performance of the cryptocurrency over the years when it was created and you may also apply stock technical analysis techniques in order to support your conclusion.

For external analysis, this include all the factors that affect its price that does not include the performance of the crypto. For example, the war between Ukraine and Russia; the prohibition of countries of cryptocurrencies, etc.

At the end of the day, there is no absolute rule when it comes to prediction. These are only tools in order to help you arrive at a decision on which odds are greater than the other and this also does not guarantee that you will profit at the end.
888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing doesn't guarantee you to be rich on: June 30, 2023, 11:27:17 PM
Investing on something but you're just half-assed committed on it won't really guarantee you anything at all. Investment is a commitment, you have to know what you need to do and what you are doing in order to gain profits, if not, your money will just be wasted. And, it doesn't guarantee a rich quick scheme of course, it takes time before you could actually called yourself "rich" unless you're already rich before you've done investing.

I agree with your statement.

An investment is something that a person must consistently commit-on in order to maximize its potential. Yes, it does not guarantee a person to be instantly rich but it does give a person a comfortable setting and security if the investment had matured in the given timeframe.

For example, if a person invested money from the very start he/she had earned money, then such investment would accumulate its value, thereby setting you a form of security when you reach the age of retirement. Though this will not make you rich per se, it does give you some sort of money for you to use at your fullest discretion.

In order to achieve this, one must indeed commit to such investment. If you do not commit and continue to invest, then nothing would really happen. In fact, it will become more of a liability than an asset to your experience.
889  Economy / Gambling / Re: lucky block casino locked my account for no reason demanding kyc funds lost on: June 30, 2023, 11:12:58 PM
Anyways, they are demanding kyc and I refuse so they will close my account

Just a heads up, lucky block is not safe.
is this what you already accepted mate? I mean this is just an Eye opener for forum members and you are not asking for the return of your money?
then why choose here when there is no official representative from Lucky Block here in bitcointalk.
but thanks anyway , as i will never choose to play even creating an account for this one.
Even if the platform doesn't have a presence on the forum or a representative, it's not right to reach conclusions without knowing the full story. OP has clearly said that he refused to complete KYC verification which is obviously something a casino wouldn't like or see as something normal, and OP also said that he tried to withdraw after playing a little bit because he was losing, and I don't think he had reached the wagering requirement as well.

If he had completed his KYC and then the casino had refused to pay his money, that is when we could blame the casino or think that they are scammers and stuff, but none of what OP said has any indication of why the casino is not trustworthy or scamming their players.

If a casino requires you to submit KYC documents and refuse to heed to their request, they have all the discretion to accept/deny any act on which you will do. They may even deny your withdrawals and that is covered under their TnC which is mostly stipulated.

OP, you cannot fault the gambling website if they refuse to accept your withdrawals. KYC documents are a pre-requisite before anyone can gamble on their platform. Obviously, for failure to submit such, they also have the power to deny your withdrawals at their discretion.

I have never heard of luck block casino in the crypto space but reaching a conclusion that they are a scam just because they denied your withdrawal is fallacious. Next time, if you do not want to submit any KYC documents, then avoid playing on such platform in the first place.
890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Let's find out which gambling game is the most played among our community... on: June 30, 2023, 05:47:32 PM
This poll is purely for fun, I would like to hear your opinion on the best gambling games out there, and I wonder which games are the most popular in our community. I am sure there are numerous less-known gambling games played around the world,  so if you choose "Other," please specify the game in the comments section below, and I will add it to the poll.

Let's vote and see which games we find most exciting, entertaining, or rewarding. Smiley

I voted for BlackJack and baccarat but I suspected that slots and poker would be the top choices among the players.

Poker, being at the top, is understandable given its wide and recognized popularity all over the world. There are even poker tournaments that are being hosted on national television where it featured famous personalities in such game.

In slots, it is considered as the easiest game to play of all the games available in a casino. Given its simplicity, you also cost no time in playing such game as you only push the level and pray that the slots would be in your favour.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lotteries and possibility vs. probability on: June 29, 2023, 11:54:07 PM
As far as the general public is concerned, they are buying tickets for the hope of changing their lives into straight retirement- winning the lottery is a dream that can be achievable by means of paying a relatively small amount of money. So basically, the lottery for them is something that can provide them that dream and can create an illusion of them winning. Sometimes the thought of you winning is worth it to the price you pay for betting.

Though this may be the case, winning the lottery is astronomically low. For some who may compute the chances of winning, it is forwarded that you may have no chance at all of winning even if you bet daily starting from the day that you were born.

In conclusion, you are paying for the thought of winning and the chance of going straight to retirement. Though the chances may be lower, still, I guess it is still worth it to pay such amount of money for that chance of you winning, even if such odds are low.
892  Economy / Gambling / Re: Impossible KYC Requirements - Stake.com - Withholding $6000 USD on: June 29, 2023, 11:38:02 PM
Based on the story in my observation, they are not doing well to accommodate you in passing your kyc to them. The only passport and Driver's license that you have when you sent the photo are very valid compared to the bills that you submitted to them.
That's a bit annoying and worrying if there is a large balance on their casino platform. It seems like they didn't want to allow money to be withdrawn from their platform. But when you make a deposit, it's okay with them. I have a feeling that what I see is not good.

Man, the KYC documents that Stake had been asking is far more stringent that those of the KYC documents which my local exchange asked for me. These are just ridiculous- good thing there is a representative of stake here in this forum that may help you with your case.

Regarding the extra documents that are being asked, I find it very intrusive to ask for such magnitude of evidence. The fact that you also complied with all the requests that they asked speaks on how you are compliant with all the requests. This should imply that you are indeed a legitimate customer of their services.

Again, this is not looking good for a reputable casino to somehow create an endless loop and cycle for requesting such documents. I would definitely exercise all the means of help, including messaging all the representatives in this forum to look on your case.
893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino on a cruise ship? on: June 29, 2023, 11:24:15 PM
Has anyone here had the opportunity to try out the casino on a cruise ship? I've heard many stories about them, and I'm curious to learn about the similarities and differences compared to land-based casinos. I'm particularly interested in hearing from someone who has firsthand experience playing in a cruise ship casino.

As far as I know, my friend went to this cruise ship in Europe and he told me that casinos there had limited games.  There were slots and the environment was pretty conducive for gambling but expect less games than your typical casino.

Personally, I would definitely avoid gambling in cruise ships due to its nature. When you are in a vacation, you are expected to relax and enjoy the peaceful serenity of such limited time. Engaging myself in a stressful situation may make or break the whole vacation in the cruise. There is also that potential of losing so much money to the point that the entire vacation is somehow ruined for you, including your family.
894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How useful is Bitcoin to the youth? on: June 26, 2023, 04:47:36 PM

Youth are interested in Bitcoin because it's easy to work with if you understand the ntrigrity also it's a way to make money, over time BTC has risen, and with this, the youth may be interested in a way to do business digitally.
We need to talk more about the benefit of Biticion in other to attract more youth because the majority do not know how this coin works.

Just like any other investment, the younger generation would be the one to continue and most likely provide more innovation towards cryptocurrencies. They are the the essential element to make cryptocurrencies successful because without them, there would be no party that would seek the potentials of cryptocurrencies.

On its own, BTC should be treated as an investment. While they are growing up, however, they should be fully aware of its consequences and uses on the market. For them to actually understand this concept, they must have at least a fraction of it for them to invest and understand its fundamentals in the blockchain technology.
895  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "How best do I secure my investment on bitcoin as a newbie" on: June 26, 2023, 02:59:55 PM
Hi guys,
I'm super excited to finally be a part of this family of great minds in the crypto world.
As a newbie in the crypto community  I've heard people talk about how great they have lost their resources on several crypto platform, so I've resolved to ask:

How best do I secure my investment on bitcoin as a newbie?

indeed so many people jump into the crypto with little or zero knowledge of bitcoin and it's security and intending risk, so pls i will really appreciate a response from professionals in the house

I recommend using a hardware wallet for maximum safety and protection for your BTC investments. If you are holding a relatively small amount of BTCs, then you can put them inside exchanges but make sure to send it to your hardware wallet as soon as the latter becomes available.

If you are living in a country where it supports a local wallet, then you may also put your BTCs inside such local wallet for maximum convenience and support. In my country, we have a local wallet called coins.ph where it is regulated for transparency. The reason on why I keep them inside is because I can conveniently convert my BTCs to our desired local currency and even purchase or pay bills with it.

Though this may be the case, I am slowly migrating my BTCs to a hardware wallet as soon as I purchase one.
896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife on wedding. on: June 26, 2023, 02:31:01 PM
Although I still studied, I invested a small amount in Bitcoin. I will get married if I get a good job. Many people give many things to their wives as wedding gifts, I have a different plan. I am planning to gift bitcoin to my wife on her wedding day. Bitcoin is still illegal in my country so I invested with caution. On my wedding day I want to gift half of my investment to my wife.
Should I gift bitcoin to my wife? I want your advice

I think you should invest and purchase BTC for you to HODL it long-term. Regardless if you want to give it to your wife as a wedding gift or not, you should definitely invest in BTC. Though it may be somehow difficult given the current circumstances surrounding your country of its prohibition, the fact that you purchased it already makes it possible for you to do it.

Personally, I would give my wife something that she would understand and love. Giving her BTC as a form of investment is like giving someone shares of stock to a certain company. I mean, it is not bad per se but a wedding gift should be something that is tangible for her to remember as a remembrance of your wedding.
897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on live game or while game hasn't started yet? on: June 26, 2023, 02:11:18 PM

Cast your bet in a match that have yet not started or bet when the game is already live?
It must have been asked before but in case new sports bettors have not yet read such thread, reply back your opinion about it.

Found myself losing when the money line changes from 1.75 to 4.35 as the game began. But sometimes when I also wait for the game to start, it changes to worse such from 1.75 to 1.10

From my experience, I usually prefer to bet before the match starts. As far as I know also, some betting platforms close their betting deals once the game starts which makes it impossible to bet. Though this happens rarely, I mostly encounter this situation.

In addition, I find myself winning every time I stick to my gut. I do not change my bets and prefer to bet whenever a certain timeframe is given for us to place the wagers.

I actually do both. Usually, I bet even if the game hasn't started yet since I'm confident that my bet will win. But even though I bet early, I still watch the game for some thrill and excitement. Another reason for me to watch the game is if I think the team I bet on is winning, I can still increase my bet on them.

At the same time, I still look for some live games, then I will check the team with the higher odds if they have a chance of winning before the game ends. If there's still a higher chance of it, I take the risk of betting. But sometimes when the game starts late in our time, I still bet then I will just look at the result once I woke up.

I find this interesting- I might try and explore other sports betting websites that offer bettings that can be changed during the game. Most of the ones that I have tried had locked once the game starts.
898  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Teacher and Classmates Labeling Bitcoin as a Ponzi Scheme or a Scam on: June 25, 2023, 11:41:49 PM
.....
Recently, he expressed his frustration about his teacher and classmates labeling bitcoin as a ponzi scheme or a scam each time he talks about it. I'm seeking a variety of advice that I can offer to my nephew in this situation. Although his father suggested that he should stop discussing bitcoin, I don't feel comfortable with that approach. What are your thoughts on this matter?

I find it both funny and ironic that some people claim cryptocurrencies or BTC as a ponzi scheme, but they are the ones who are not knowledgeable about the given topic. I am very sure that they get their information on false media platforms, like TikTok, Facebook, or any other medium which spread false information about it.

I am also appalled that the teacher mentioned and agreed that BTC is considered as a ponzi scheme. As a teacher, he/she has the responsibility of informing his/her students through verified information, not by some rumors or any kind of false information.

I do recommend to ask your nephew and question on how his teacher came up with the conclusion on why he considered it as such. If the teacher cannot give any verified information and/or source on why he claimed it as such, then better to ignore him and his classmates.
899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: benefits of having mature accounts at 3 casinos (personal experience) on: June 25, 2023, 11:27:06 PM
I appreciate the insights you provided and the concrete examples on how the VIP system works and the different qualifications in order to receive rewards/bonuses from different casinos you have participated.

The VIP system was designed in order to keep a loyal player base in a given casino. The focus is catered towards a loyal clientele by providing more bonuses the higher they spend on a certain amount of time (on your example, stake requires 3000 usd wagered weekly to be qualified). Of course, the higher you spend, the more bonuses you would receive.

In conclusion, I think everything boils down to one's preference of availing that VIP status. But if you were to avail such status, might as well pick a casino that had already established its name in order to maximize it. Avoid casinos that are relatively new on the market due to the risk of them closing down without any notice.
900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Become Currency of Nations in 10-15 Years on: June 25, 2023, 11:09:22 PM
I really doubt that BTC would become the currency for as little of 10-15 years from the future.

Remember that BTC solely exists on the internet. With this, there are many countries who do not have access to basic food and education, let alone the technology to support a cryptocurrency online platform with their designated wallets inside their mobile phones.

In addition, to become the currency of the nation, it must have approval and acknowledgement from all the countries in the world, or else it will prejudice them. There are some countries who prohibit the utilization of such and there are even massive prohibition from its usage.
