If you ignore the stale block that took 14 hours, we're nearly 22 hours now with nothing. Worst luck in a long time, and that's saying something after the recent unlucky streak...  Can you imagine what a day that balances things out would look like? Come on good luck! |

Can you imagine what a day that balances things out would look like? Come on good luck! Bad Luck is an understatement . First 10 days earned 5. bitcoins last 10 days .5 bitcoins. That is extremely bad luck. Mind you i cranked all 4 of my GPU's to the Max and even had to change my wiring in my house to 20amps to handle the load. at .5 bitcoin in 10 days i am def not covering even electric at this point. But i keep plugging away because i love the pool and know what its like when its doing well plus its a friendly community so all i can do is cross my fingers and hope for the best. well we just did 3 blocks;
so 14 hours 0 block stale
8 hours 1 block good
2 hours 1 block good
0 min!! 1 block good
right now the network is at 24Th vs 43 Th right before the fork. I suggest cranking our gear up . It may be the asic gear is not working due to something about the fork.

ASIC miners are just as unaffected (or affected, depending on how you want to define this) by the fork as anyone else. I did notice that at the time of the fork, all three of my mining clusters crashed. A significant portion of the network is in EU and eastern/mid USA; many or most of those people would have been asleep during this event (and some of those still would be). If their software crashed as well it would take a while for them to wake up, realize what happened, and restart their miners. TLDR: nothing to worry about. Eventually everyone will figure out they may need to restart their miners.  |

we just minted a block that says external what is this? never mind it dropped off now it says

I will look at litecoin when I have time. I see it is popular. It is not that much. Stability with ASICs + Stratum + uptime is more important. |

Basically its like 1 ASIC owns the pool it seems to me. Can we talk more about Lite coin? As i cant push all these cards any harder and i dont see the point of buying more at this point or even an ASIC without buying a ton of them. Sorta like real life monopoly big companies step in and take it all. Just the way it seems to me is all. but still watching to see what happens. |

Still allot i need to learn that's why i ask and after reading about Litecoin im note sure its even worth it as Bitcoin is already here and real. You explained allot and now it makes sense why when the last ASIC dropped we slowed drastically. Again Thank you for 1 replying to my question and 2 for helping someone so new to bitcoin. Still deciding if its worth buying an ASIC but i have a ton of these GPU's laying around as i am a Custom PC modder also so really cant sell the cards for ASICS. I was looking at the small ASIC's if it ever becomes a necessary to still be a miner. I rather enjoy Mining not for the money aspects only but the whole idea and concept. Being a Miner gives you that feeling of actually being part of bitcoin because if we dont mine there is no security or Bitcoins right? or am i misunderstanding it? |

1)without mining as a driving engine bitcoins would die off. so we need miners.
2) gpus will soon be too slow and too power hungry. (of course if you have free power they will still make money)
3) litecoins may be the new coin for gpus.
I have 8 hd7970's 2 7950's and 1 hd7990 .
I hash at 6000 I am going to have to sell my gpus or use them for litecoins.
I like this pool and I hope the doctor would make a litecoin section so I don't have to put a boat load of gpus for sale on eaby.
As for asics you should get a jalapeno from butterfly labs as it is only 163 usd shipped it is small and quiet and you will need to wait til july if you buy it today.

Cool. Looks ready for prime time. I rather enjoy Mining not for the money aspects only but the whole idea and concept. Being a Miner gives you that feeling of actually being part of bitcoin because if we dont mine there is no security or Bitcoins right?
Definitely. High global hashpower is important for Bitcoin. But I would also argue that having the hashpower spread out is important, rather than have it controlled by a few people. I hope there will be several companies selling ASICs, and I hope they will be on the hands of lots of people. |

i have a question i have an unconfirmed amount . it poped up today. i see a block was orphaned but i pay the 2% in fact I give 2.5% for btc and 4% for nmc so why is this one amount unconfirmed. TIA
Is the prepay perk turned on? Maybe you turned it off earlier, then raised donations back up but forgot to turn it on again? |

i checked my transactions it seems good.
it is funny i had the mystery unconfirmed today and now it seems to check out , a few days ago i had a reading that i had an external block and then that changed and fixed itself . todays problem was block 225830. the other day it was 225544 to the doctor thanks for a quick reply.
That can happen if you load the blocks page at exactly the right time. Sometimes the payment processor will see the new block on the block chain before the mining server has registered who made it, and it shows as having been made by an external entity. Other times the creator is registered by the mining server, but the payment processor hasn't checked the block chain yet to see if the block is on the chain or stale (orphaned on creation), so it shows as stale by default. I suppose better defaults would be "unknown" creator and "new" in the confirmations column. That's less confusing, I think? |
