21.000.000.000 in less then 9 years (7 remaining).
Final value=~ 1/1000 Bitcoin

Thanks - that reconfirms what I read. It is just that the block size remains constant at 5000 coins.

It seems a coin gets a good degree of maturity after at least 4 years. It brings us at the end of 2015.
Let's see, because there is a fierce competition at the moment. During the two years coming probably a half of the alt coin will be swept away by XRP.
The other half, who knows.

I think Devcoin is about to have a huge growth spurt.
2015 will be a way better time to have Devcoins than now is. But I think Devcoin is about to have a pretty good sized jump in value and attention soon Smiley

Hope so. It's the fact we are going to compete against a giant like google that makes me afraid. DVC will survive for sure, too many supporters joining the ranks, but the public in general prefer a dumb proof system, they do not care about mining, wallets,  etc. I think many times we consider the reaction of the masses will be according to our knowledge of the subject, but people in general simply ignore the existence and consistence of what we consider the future.
Anyway, I hope you will prove to be right!

It just needs to make the Social Media circuits, then someone needs to talk about it in jail Smiley
Maybe we could start a Prisoner DVC penpal program.

I like the one on jail.
Sorry, I do not have acquaintances in any jail.
I doubt in jail can access any social forum.
I am writing a fairy tale on crypto-currencies, so I feel free to say anything about schemes behind crypoto-currencies.

I believe that, in the long run, DVC will win against bitcoin, simply because people will more prone to spend 1 USD for 1 DVC then for 0.001 BTC. At that point BTC will appear like buying dust. It's a matter of perception. In fact XRP have planned 100 billion, in order to pump in coin progressively with the goal of keeping the price stable.

I'll try to get in contact with some people in jail. And I'll probably end up in there for public intoxication or something in the next few years. So I can do it myself at that point.

I think devcoin should work to support Bitcoin. But I do think it will raise in value by A LOT.

Smiley Smiley Hope so much you are right. It will help me to use my life more for others, that I think it's the best reward in life.

Same.
Would you be interested in working together on stuff? Over the next few months I want to try to get a group together that puts like 10% of its devtome earnings towards certain projects together Smiley

Why not?
Keep me updated.
It means I have to go on with my writings, otherwise I will have 10% of almost nothing to share.
I'll do my best.

Well, I think everyone that is involved in Devcoin right now is lucky enough that it is going to gain enough value that shares now are going to be worth a lot if you save them. Then just a little will go a long way.

Well, once I get my earnings I will be starting such projects.
First is a thread that pays you to post, in Devcoin.

So, what is the maximum number of DVC ever to be mined (like 20 million for BTC) ? I searched for the answer, but it seems confusing. The official sites say that it is 21 billion (1000X number of BTC), but now I hear it is unlimited - is that true ? Did the software get changed sometime after first release ?

I think 21,000,000,000
So it's 1/1000th the value of BTC. So it should be 10 cents each one day Smiley Or more if BTC goes up in value Smiley

I actually understood that DVC is not limited in number of future DVC. Could a Dev confirm what the right answer is?

Based on this link: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Devcoin

The following constant changes were made to ensure 3 decimal (1000X) precision shift over BTC, and this says max coin count as 21 billion:

//static const int64 MIN_TX_FEE = 50000;
static const int64 MIN_TX_FEE = 50000000;
//static const int64 MIN_RELAY_TX_FEE = 10000;
static const int64 MIN_RELAY_TX_FEE = 10000000;
//static const int64 MAX_MONEY = 21000000 * COIN;
static const int64 MAX_MONEY = 21000000000 * COIN;

What am I missing ?

ALTcoinTIP goes live on reddit, but it doesn't include Devcoin because there was a problem with devcoind: http://www.reddit.com/r/ALTcointip/comments/1esl7u/altcointip_bot_now_live/ca3mq2w

Can we help him to investigate and fix the problem?

Is there a bounty for things like altcointip devcoin support?

(I understand that general idea is that bounties go for open source things, but on the other hand cryptostocks got bounty even though it isn't open source so apparently it depends.)

What will be with DVC project after reaching this point? I mean DVC payments to developers requires to get 80% from mining, don't they? But when all coins will be mine how can be coins distributed among developers?

I'd say at that point maybe a new coin gets made, or the developers use the coins they've been earning for the past year Smiley

When devcoin will reach 1c many will be already selling out thier coins, while many will start buying because they will see this coin coming out from the "death zone". The increased mining and difficulty will, along with increased numbers of writers and developers, eventually trasform the coin in a real currency. There is point of no return, a sparkle starting the engine. It is waited within 2 years, maybe less.
My guess? March 2014.

I really think if we work on getting people's attention(and of course getting boutnies completed) it can be this year Smiley

I see you so positive. I admire you for this.
I normally keep my expectations low. You know the saying: don't count your chickens before they're hatched.
I don't count my chickens before they're on my dish.
 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Well, I already have the chickens.
I have trolls all over the internet (especially on weed forums) that will automatically comment on anything I say, just to argue or talk shit because I've been sharing things online since I was 19, and trolls don't like when people with no money share ideas.

So I basically just have to talk about Devcoin, and suddenly thousands of new people will know about it. And I haven't even started yet.
I've done it on this site, but I'm new here, there are sites I've been on for 2 years+

And I have a fairly large YouTube audience, at least better than most people on any YouTube forum, and same with Facebook.

Ex: when I tell people on Rollitup.org that I am earning money on Devtome, there will be about 3 pages of 40 comments per page in 1 day, then tons of traffic to Devtome. And if I add a video in the article, it will get 30-50 views the first day just from Rollitup

I admire your guys' dedication on spreading the word on Devcoin, but how about some actual dev work being put into it to address ongoing issues? I think that'd help Devcoin a lot more than hyping it up on the forums and getting people to panic buy/sell them. Amirite?

For example, it'd be nice to have ALTcointip bot on Reddit support Devcoin, but as poster above said, Devcoin client seems to have issues running on Ubuntu. If this is a real issue stopping everyone from using Devcoin, then it's pretty much useless because it'll never be adopted into any system.

Any real devs willing to take this on and try to resolve the issue? Or is this a speculators thread? Wink

The whole point of getting more attention is to get more people involved, so that we have more ideas flowing and more people working on stuff

And to get more money in Devcoin so Devtomers can afford the projects in the first place.

The maximum number of coins in any on e wallet or address or in general any arithmetic/total, but coins will keep gettign created, 50,000 per block, forever. So some century or other maybe larger than 64 bit integers will have to start being use if more than 21 billion ever need to be added up in any one arithmetic operation.

Thanxs for the encouraging answer.
Let me go back to my writing, you are putting me in a wholesome hurry.
Greetings to your chickens.

Don't worry, I'm going to wait till next round to post on Rollitup and make tons of videos. I'm gonna make like 1-3 DVC videos this round, and focus on BTC videos.

Then next round I'll just start pumping out DVC info all over the web, making tons of videos, and handing out free shit Smiley
