2621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: prediction betting platform pros and cons? on: January 03, 2022, 06:57:01 PM
I don't care about the Pros and Cons in any prediction Betting platform because i'm just looking into it as basis for my research .

They can predict anything they want but in the end i will still decide whom to choose.
So instead of seeking for who's the legit or not ,why not just look at their prediction instead because that will prove what kind of prediction maker are these Platform us.

The choice definitely belongs to you but these prediction betting platforms compile information based on the team's history and winning rate over the years in order to arrive at a decision. After such compilation, they based their betting percentage primarily on their research- so basically, these platforms already did their research for you and you just have to choose who has a higher winning percentage than the other.

In betting, the one with the higher percentage of winning is always the one favoured. While this may not be the absolute case as there are cases where the underdog wins, but if I were to bet based on such data, I would definitely choose the team which has the higher odds compared to the other.
2622  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie to cryptocurrency on: January 03, 2022, 06:31:42 PM
As I am reading all posts by OP, it clearly indicates that a person is moving towards cryptocurrency just by fascination. But it doesn't matter anyone comes to this land by choice or by chance, matter is what they learn and what they understand.

At first sight, most users consider crypto as stock or commodity, but crypto is more than that. And it is completely virtual, and open source.

Spending more time on understanding what is cryptocurrency can help to get into the crypto world. also, it needs a more in-depth understanding to store and transact cryptocurrencies virtually within the network by paying network fees and keeping digital assets secure within the wallet with maximum security.

Just to be completely honest, I think most of the people also started joining cryptocurrencies due to its fascination and opportunity to earn high amounts of returns in a given amount of time. The problem lies when people do not follow such 'fascination' with research after their initial investment as they purely invested due to hype.

Personally, I also invested into cryptocurrencies (BTC to be specific) because of the news that it gave high returns compared to conventional investment methods available. The difference is, I researched and browsed through this forum to better understand the concept of cryptocurrencies.
2623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: January 03, 2022, 06:06:49 PM
Increasing rumors from England this time about a possible retirement from Hamilton.

According to these rumors, Mercedes is doing a talk with Gasly in case Hamilton will retire or for 2023.

Source: https://www.formulapassion.it/motorsport/formula-1/f1-team/mercedes-occhi-su-gasly-per-il-dopo-hamilton-599459.html

What seriously? This is actually pretty big news given that Hamilton will be able to drive the new 2022 F1 car next season. Hamilton is one of those drivers that are rare to come by- with his sheer amount of talent and experience, we will definitely be missing out his overtakes and talent on the grid.

To be honest, I am quite surprised that Mercedes considered Pierre Gasly as his replacement in the event that Hamilton retires. But in retrospect, Gasly had proved his talent on the grid along with an inferior car. He consistently places around either p4-p7 on every race along with his teammate Tsunoda.
2624  Economy / Economics / Re: LEGO Sets Are Better Investments than Stocks, Bonds or Even Gold on: January 03, 2022, 05:57:59 PM
Oh this is actually an interesting fact! I think I watched a video on YouTube before regarding the top 10 most expensive LEGO sets and many have commented that owning legos have been an investment on their part. I think it is also due on the demand/supply on how LEGO manufactures their toys. While most people see it primarily as a toy, others see it as an investment.

Interesting, however, that the demand/supply of LEGO has been consistently been sought after by collectors. By releasing limited-edition sets and seasonal designs, its price definitely skyrocketed the market that ultimately resulted to it being regarded as an investment.
2625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who’s who in the gambling subforum? on: January 03, 2022, 05:15:16 PM
I mean, I do not want to associate myself as to avoid sounding cocky but I think I have a wide-range of knowledge when it comes to chess.

Ever since the pandemic, I have been consistently watching chess tournaments. I also know most of the standings and the recent news; that is why I always engage into discussions in the gambling subforum of chess. Unfortunately, only a handful of people watch and enjoy chess- that is why it is not as famous compared to our conventional and traditional sports (e.g. NBA, boxing, tennis, F1, etc.).

I do hope that people get curious in watching chess as it can be brutal as a knockout punch in boxing!
2626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: January 03, 2022, 04:24:12 PM

Ugas won against Manny because he was able to maintain his distance against Manny. Of course Manny is not the old Manny anymore when they met. But credits to Ugas for the win. But in this fight against Spence Jr. I think Spence is a busy boxer. And he will probably outpoint Ugas.

Age finally caught with Pacquiao there's the news and it was confirmed that he suffered from leg cramps, making him hard to move and throw punches, Ugas is fighting a fighter who is at the prime of his career, who always dominate a fight, Ugas is a technical fighter in some ways but Spence is an all-around great boxer in the ring, like Crawford he is flawless, after the match I see Spence winning another version of the welterweight.

As far as I remember, after the fight of Ugas, Pacquiao did complain of leg cramps and he somehow blamed his trainer for changing the routine. Do not quote me on this one but I do remember that Pacquiao was planning on having a rematch? Anyway, you are indeed right that Ugas is in the prime of his career. He can be very lethal and explosive on the ring. While Spence Jr. may be undefeated, his recent matches show his weaknesses and potential counters that could very well make him vulnerable.
2627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin upgraded my financial life on: January 03, 2022, 02:45:59 PM
So I had a great holiday season all with the help of Bitcoin I came from an underdeveloped country where the rate of unemployment is pretty high and many youths are left to do some hard jobs just to survive even graduates with University degrees have no paying jobs I got to know about this forum some months ago and since then my financial life was transformed and the Christmas happens to be my best I can now earn little money to take care of my financial needs all with the help of Bitcoin-related jobs both on this forum and off the forum. BITCOIN IS A SAVIOR

Man, I somehow feel your story. As someone who also lives in a third-world country, any alternative income is difficult to come by. Our minimum wage here pays $10/day and it the jobs that you have to undergo are very taxing. Not to mention, coupled with a corrupt government system, seeing the light of the day is just too painful and unbearable.

When I was introduced with in this forum, I saw a privilege where I could earn with the convenience of doing everything online. This not only opened doors of opportunities but also indirectly helped fund my education. That is why, bitcoin is indeed OUR savior.
2628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is the safest of the 'safest ways' to store Bitcoin? on: January 02, 2022, 06:33:45 PM
The answer never changed from day one. You need to store your bitcoin a wallet you hold private keys of. (and adding 2fa is always a good thing to do)

And yes, you shouldn't tell everyone that you have bitcoin.

I agree with this statement. Like what most people had advice when asking for security in storing BTCs, the answer would always be to avoid storing them into centralized or local exchanges being offered. While they may be the most convenient way of storing your BTCs as it can be easily downloaded from our respective smartphones due to its convenience, the level of security may be relatively weaker compared if you store them inside a hardware wallet.

In addition to this, never tell anyone about your private keys; in fact if it is possible, avoid telling strangers that you do own some BTC to avoid getting tracked down.
2629  Economy / Gambling / Re: Very immoral marketing strategy. on: January 02, 2022, 06:23:12 PM
They are gamblers most of them which make more money by getting and attracting a lot of new followers in their Youtube channels rather than from gambling actually.Of course most of them can be paid from gambling sites to promote themselves there and in their description to offer referral links with bonus attached to them to play in a specific casino which is their sponsor. This is a very normal marketing strategy if you ask me,I see nothing immoral here.

I see nothing immoral there either. Basically, in those videos you can see what might happen when this or that slot was played. I mean it would be immoral if they were editing their videos to make it look like they were winning big amounts while in reality it never happened. But they never do that kind of stuff. They are showing real spins, and that's why I like to watch such videos, but of course I know the probability of that happening to me, so I don't expect winning 20,000x within an hour of playing. It can happen, but most likely it will not.

While the acts show no immorality, it does show deception in terms of winning. The problem with most YouTubers is that the money provided by them came also from the gambling owners themselves. As far as I remember, there was also a case where the rates were rigged and it caused to believe that the rates of winning a specific casino was higher. This caused an uproar on the gambling website in which it eventually closed (this happened in a CSGO gambling website) and the YouTuber being reprimanded as such.
2630  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Here is best place to start on: January 02, 2022, 06:16:04 PM
I came onboard cryptocurrncy through a friend who introduced me to this forum as where to start from and since then the journey began and am finding this it exciting.

Ahh yes, this is definitely the place to be if you plan on starting to learn about cryptocurrencies.

I also remembered my journey way back in 2017 when my close friend introduced me to this forum. I thought that this was just another 'scheme' but when I read and browsed through the topics, it definitely gave me an idea on the potential of cryptocurrencies in our transactions. Fortunately, I was also privileged enough to participate into campaign signatures which is currently my main method of earning BTCs and HODLing them at the same time.

Not only do I earn BTCs for long-term gain, but I also learn throughout my stay about the latest news and developments in this field.
2631  Economy / Economics / Re: Preparing for the future. on: January 02, 2022, 05:44:58 PM
Preparing for the future is the same as preparing for survival and it will be a good asset for us to pass on to our descendants later. Not just wealth, but knowledge, skills in certain fields we also should not ignore. Without us knowing the future that we are preparing now for the continuation of life after us.

I think that OP meant that preparing for the future encompasses all the conventional method of education (e.g. finishing and getting a degree, etc.) as the future focuses more on the niche aspect of skills. Like what is being mentioned, learning about the blockchain and its technicalities may be the key into earning more potentially due to its popular demand from its users.

Just like cryptocurrencies, this subject has been steadily growing over the years. The more people who get curious and enter this market, the more demand and skill would be needed- thus the potential of earning more streams of income is greater.
2632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: January 02, 2022, 05:24:31 PM
I really think online gambling is becoming absolute nuts over the next five years or so. With virtual / augmented reality finding its way into everyday life more and more, I see people with their VR glasses joining a bike race so they can literally cheer on their favorite biker and so on. Or visit virtual soccer stadiums and what not. The potential is limitless I guess.

We can base this fact alone that when the pandemic hit, the popularity and emergence of online gambling definitely hit among the people. This is also based on the fact that an online gambling platform is feasible and lucrative enough for people to participate. In all honesty, it has proved that its convenience far outweighs the need for people to visit physical casinos.

I do agree with your statement that online gambling may be the next generation of gambling. If we pair this also with other innovations (e.g. virtual reality, etc.), this can be the next big industry move where businesses would shift to an online setting.
2633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 02, 2022, 03:56:41 PM
Watched the game between GSW vs Grizzlies and I am in awe for the whole game. Clarkson, Ingles, and Mitchell played a fantastic game and offense throughout. But they fell short on firepower as GSW unleashed Curry's dagger and Iggy's game-sealing 3 on the final minutes on the clock.

Like what I previously mentioned, the way on how GSW develops their players is just remarkable and commendable. They always prioritize their new players in finding those extra precious minutes on the field in order to develop confidence as they will be replacing the starters soon enough. Porter, Poole, and Payton did their respective roles which added the cherry on top for this win.
2634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much btc do you need to secure your future? on: January 02, 2022, 02:20:04 PM
This is actually an interesting question- since securing your "future" can be a difficult question to answer given the relativity of the amount of money needed in living in a particular area (e.g. first world countries vs third world countries, etc.).

As someone who lives in a third-world country, the amount of 1 BTC can garner you a very comfortable life- you can actually purchase a condominium unit in a relatively safe environment. But if the question focuses on "security in my future", I think having 20-30 BTCs can make my future very secured to the point that I can live accordingly without any hassle or inconvenience.
2635  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: AXS and SLP available now on Coins.PH!!! on: January 02, 2022, 01:44:47 PM
Source: https://bitpinas.com/cryptocurrency/coins-phaxs-slp-axie-infinity/

Ito talaga yung pinakainaantay ng buong Axie gang dito sa Pinas ang pag add ng AXS at SLP sa Coins.PH wallet. Hehe kaya lang hindi na ako na nag A-Axie, but I may consider staking AXS or being a LP provider to farm Ronin tokens later on.

But syempre ang downside naman dito ang fees ni Coins.PH. Pero anu masasabi nyu dito mga kababayans?

This is actually great news given na ang main wallet talaga na ginagamit ng mga tao ay ang coins.ph. I think I also heard from my friends na kinukuha nila ang funds nila from Binance tapos icoconvert pa nila ito to BTC, which is somehow inconvenient on their part.

Yun nga, since may direct access na sa coins.ph ng SLP, sobrang laking convenience mabibigay nila to almost all axie users. To be honest, mas lalo ako naenganyo na pumasok at mag try din sa Axie. Pero yun nga lang yung downside, malaki fees nito for sure kaya titignan ko din muna if worth-it.
2636  Economy / Economics / Re: The link between Bitcoin and the economy on: January 01, 2022, 11:57:39 PM
But the problem is the benefits you are talking for the common people that you are talking is only applicable to the rich people. Poor ones can't even afford a quarter of Bitcoin. Rich people buy it believing it would give back more to them. It's fundamentals is slowly losing and one day bitcoin might be just another story to be told.

I doubt that its fundamental is slowly losing in today's market. The fact that more and more people have been using BTC in the market proves that they impliedly accept and see its value on the market. Albeit it is primarily used as a form of alternative currency since most merchants accept it nowadays, it can also function as a long-term asset due to its significant value in the market.

Personally, BTC should be viewed both as an asset and as a currency depending on the individual's usage and view. It can function both so why not exercise its maximum potential?
2637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top Cryptocurrencies for iGaming 2021 on: January 01, 2022, 11:52:13 PM
Crypto payments made waves in 2021, especially in online gambling. These cryptocurrencies are the most used in 2021 for crypto gambling:

- Bitcoin
- Tether
- Ethereum
- Dogecoin
- Litecoin

These also happen to be the common cryptocurrencies accepted in online casinos. For sure you’ve also used these cryptos to play games and bet on sports. Which among these is your favorite? And which cryptos you often use in gambling that aren’t on the list?

I think the reigning cryptocurrency used in gambling would always be BTC given its dominant and high price in the market. But with the creation of dozens and thousands of altcoins in the market, this gave rise to several options where a person may exercise in gambling away their resources.

To be honest, I often used my BTCs in gambling as it is the most convenient and most widespread used currency among all the gambling websites. At least all online (and even physical) casinos accept BTCs as payment/reward in using their services.

I am also in favor of using other cryptocurrencies that are not listed on the list since it somehow implies that its popularity is steadily rising on the market.
2638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's never too late to start on: January 01, 2022, 02:11:41 PM
Slightly tells me that I know bitcoin from this forum around June 2017,
But I haven't kept up with the crypto world for a long time due to my busy business and boredom with the price of BTC in 2019.
So I almost forgot all my assets until there was one. the thing I think is my stupidity, I omitted my Trezor which still contained around 9 ETH at the time I bought ETH around $ 700 in mid 2018, and ETH keeps dropping so I ignore it.
Long story short I want to start from scratch I want to ask the seniors who are here.
I want to start trading again. Could you please give me some advice so that I don't go through things like a few years ago.

We actually have the same experience- started on the forum last 2017 (though I participated into various campaign signatures) but I went on spending every bit of its proceeds. Unfortunately, I did not expect its price to skyrocket to its price now; I would have earned around $20,000+ on the bank if I just kept and HODL my BTCs.

While trading may be considered an alternative method of earning BTCs, I highly advise to avoid it especially if you lack the necessary skills and experience on the field. But if you really prefer trading, then start low and learn from there. Trading and staking high amounts of value may result into a loss that is unexpected due to the high risk of the method itself.
2639  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Reasons kung bakit naluluge ang maraming trader sa cryptocurrency market on: December 31, 2021, 08:20:07 PM
I agree with what you posted OP especially with the discipline na connected sa pagiging trader.

I think it is also noteworthy to mention na yung lack of patience yung usually nagiging sanhi kung bakit nalulugi din ang mga beginner traders. Not to mention, yung kanilang "greediness" ang nagiging isang dahilan din kung bakit nila namimiss out yung opportunity na makaipon lalo ng malaki. Similarly in stock trading, dapat nga ay meron kang definite plan where you decide kung kailan ka mag pupull out ng investment.
2640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why should Gambling be legalized ? on: December 31, 2021, 07:29:22 PM
Gambling here in our country is legal and it's one industry that contributes to the coffer of our government it is sustaining our health industry because a huge chunk of taxes and revenues are going to the government and they are giving millions of people new jobs directly and indirectly, in fact, new jobs are created to support the gambling industry, some of the casinos here in our country have hotels and restaurants and it depends in the gambling industry to sustain their operation, yeah jobs and taxes are two best reasons why gambling should be legalized.
It is a big industry and of course when the impact of having a casino building operating, then at least there will always be other supporting factors that are also built around it. This of course makes it easier for many people to find work, it certainly makes the economy grow faster. But unfortunately, not all countries have the same culture and at least that is the reason when there are still some countries that do not legalize the gambling industry.

I think as far as I remember, gambling in Dubai is illegal as it is sanctioned under their laws. While their country may have abundant supply of oil and minerals which contribute to their overall wealth and status, I do think that they are missing out an opportunity to provide an extra streamline of revenue on their part.

Then again, this leads to a conflict between the morality and the laws of a country. While I do understand that Dubai is part of the UAE where they view gambling as an illicit act, there has to be some compromise needed to at least exercise this wasted opportunity of earning more- which will ultimately benefit the public.
