A new version of the miner is available; I've updated the download link on the first post, or you can get it here:

    guiminer-20121203.exe (self-extracting archive)

The only change in this release is the fix for this poclbm issue which prevented mining on some cards such as 7970: https://github.com/m0mchil/poclbm/issues/54.

Changes:
- Update poclbm to fix poclbm issue with 7970, 6850, and others:
  https://github.com/m0mchil/poclbm/issues/54

GUIMiner - get started easily mining Bitcoins on your GPU or CPU

I am on the February version. What is the best way to upgrade? Will probably uninstall previous and reinstall current version but is there a better way?

Edited because I am an idiot

Hi guys,

I was under the impression that GUI miner now supports Phoenix & phatk, but when I click on it as stated in the guide I get an error message saying it's unsupported - am I missing something? Running the latest version....

Cheers.

Changelog:
20121203
- Update poclbm with bugfix for issue #54

20121118
- Update poclbm to latest miner including Stratum support.
- Fix rejected/stale counter not incrementing properly.
- For solo mining, accept bitcoin-qt.exe or any other *.exe file for client instead of just bitcoin.exe.
- For solo mining, add option to set bitcoin data directory, in case it's not in the default location.
- Remove Phoenix 1 support since it's no longer maintained.

You will need to use an older version.  It appears the guide has not been updated.

Ah! Bloody hell - thanks for that. It's a bit misleading when the option to use it is still in the actual program..... Huh

Can anyone suggest the right flags to use with the december version of GUIminer and an HD7970?  I am running it on mine, with good speeds, but it will routinely stop working for a second or 2 once a share is submitted, causing my miner to pause until it begins a new share.  I've never seen it do this on my other rigs running 5970's.

It will give the "warning, job finished, Tahiti is idle" and then jump back to hashing shortly after.

I'm having problems with my guiminer on my gaming rig. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it, was working one minute, closed and saved, rebooted, tried to start and now it won't come out of the bottom right task tray.

Hi, I'm having difficulty with guiminer. I can open it up, and it appears in my system tray (not my taskbar, so it isn't the bug that many people will assume it to be). However I can't open the window. I've already tried reinstalling it but to no avail.

Please help!!

Thanks,

Roddy.

GUIMiner no longer works after I moved directories.
From the error, it seems that you should handle these errors and simply mark the section of the mining config as invalid, and ask the user to fix it.
Code:
ERROR:root:Exception:

  File "guiminer.py", line 1008, in start_mining
File "subprocess.pyo", line 679, in __init__
  File "subprocess.pyo", line 896, in _execute_child
WindowsError: [Error 2] The system cannot find the file specified

Fixed by editing C:\[Users OR Docs and Settings]\[user]\Application Data\poclbm\poclbm.ini[/ii] and setting the correct path for the mining profile.

Hello, Kiv!

Almost year has passed from the time when we've asked you to add our pool to the Guiminer. This poses a problem?
If so, then we are ready to help you.

Thanks.

Where do I get OpenCL.dll, How do I open THAT and then where does it go?

Can't somebody write a frickin download that will do that automatically?
Why isn't it in the miner to begin with?

Is this 1993 or what?
