1221  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CloudThink.IO removed management pictures after being caught with stealing on: June 13, 2015, 02:51:31 PM
i say "because like me"  because i was in that singature+avatar campaign before i read this thread Wink

yes sure, but crazyearner and legendster are little bit different case..

Have decided to leave campaign due to a number of reasons. Mirjangka I have sent you a pm with details and will be leaving the avatar campaign too after the 16th. My trust reputation and morals come before getting them destroyed as this is causing it to be.

Maybe if this was not the case and things where different then I would continue but to ruin everything have built up over the years I do not want this to happens so for now good bye and wish best of luck in the future of this campaign.

He left CloudThink.IO signature campaign but still have avatar and P. MSG though. I don't think he weighs his reputation and moral over money. Sad Anyways, it is good to see he at least removed signature.

* Bolding is my courtesy.

Thank you for the feedback!
1223  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: June 13, 2015, 07:40:02 AM
Nope. In fact, Qur'an has not mentioned age of Earth though it mentioned about the creation time and some other things related to creation.

Would some (or all) Muslims believe that all humans descended from Adam and Eve?

Well, I can't say for *all* Muslims because in your interpretation, a Muslim is someone who claims he/she is a Muslim. However, Islamic interpretation is someone who believe in God and believe Muhammed is last messenger of God and what prophet brought. So if you ask me about Muslims according to first interpretation, then I don't think all Muslims believe it and if you ask about Muslims according to second interpretation, then I think all Muslims do believe humans are descended from Adam and Havva.
1224  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: about cloudmining.website on: June 13, 2015, 07:28:13 AM
Those two cloud mining providers are ponzis. It is so simple.

Any specific reason of your silence behind Bit-X inability to show their mining address so far ? Roll Eyes

I was not shutting my mouth.

I will be asking this to BIT-X soon. If they couldn't provide it, I will most probably remove BIT-X signature. For now, Bit Fury's post is enough.
1225  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallets with providers on: June 13, 2015, 06:17:51 AM
No mention of Blockchain.info?

They are one of the few online wallet providers that give users access to their own private keys. This means that even if they were to shut down, you would still be able to recover your bitcoins.

Someone posted another thread a few weeks ago asking if there were any other online wallet providers which offered a similar type of service and so far, Blockchain.info seems to be unique in this regard. It also explains why they are so popular:

http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1076837

 -snip-

Then you have Blockchain.info and multi-sig online wallets where you actually have some actual control over your coins on a technical level since you own the private key to your addresses. This is safer than the above and are probably suitable for storing medium amounts of BTC.

 -snip-

Blockchain.info is not at all a secure wallet. Stop recommending it to users. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1085983.0

Go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0.

How do you sign a message using bitcoin wallet in android app?

If you are talking about Andreas Shildbach's Bitcoin wallet, it doesn't allow you to sign message as of now.
1227  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - API not working for 6 days on: June 12, 2015, 02:02:29 PM
possible alternatives can be found here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=942633.0

Those are not really alternatives. Can anyone find a payment forwarding API that doesn't require an account or charge fees like blockchain.info was??

Bitforwarder - Charges transaction fee PLUS a maintenance fee. Requires an account.
BlockCypher - Charges transaction fees and requires an account.

-snip-
If you know how to handle deterministic wallet, you can easily generate addresses yourself without exposing private keys. This is far better than Blockchain.info's payment receive API. You can use any of the available programs to do it or create one yourself -- https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0032.mediawiki#Implementations.
1228  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Increased Block Size - how will it affect me? on: June 12, 2015, 02:00:34 PM
I am interested in that question, too. Doesn't it mean that the blockchain will blow up and thus, a normal user need to download a larger blockchain?

AFAIK you will be able to use SPV clients like Multibit.
1229  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain Receive Payments Api on: June 12, 2015, 01:58:51 PM
Do you think it was a coincidence that this went down once people started to spam the blockchain in the midst of the blockchain debate?

No.

The receive payments API forwards the payment with no fee, so it turns one transaction into two transactions. What if you took one of the generated input addresses and then made another forwarding address and take one of those generated address and do another and so on. You could essentially make 1 transaction turn into 10 or however many you decide to do and it will only cost the sender 1 transaction fee, the other 9 would have been paid by BC.info. It would make it a really cheap way to fill up the blocks.

Blockchain.info doesn't want to store money with them or mix coins received from different customers for different services.

possible alternatives can be found here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=942633.0

Those aren't alternatives, not even close. Have you ever used the receive payments API? Just because it says API doesn't make it the same thing. BCinfo was the only service that didn't require any account/login/API key and it forwarded all payments for free, blockchain.info paid the transaction fees.  There isn't a single alternative that is comparable. There are other payment forwarders (Bitforwarder, BlockCypher) but they all charge transaction fees and some even charge additional fees on top, also they all require accounts, or API keys.

Yes, they are not good as Blockchain.info's API because you will have to do some tweaking. But if some people want, they can use any of these.

1231  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Mulitsig across different wallet implemetations? on: June 12, 2015, 11:42:13 AM
Out of curiosity, why do you want to do this? Why can't you use a same wallet?

Using multiple implementations to secure funds would reduce the required trust the user would place in one set of developers.  Malice and incompetence on the part of the developers are both risks in wallet implementations, as would be some kind of MITM attack where an adulterated version is downloaded.

It currently takes a very careful user to properly handle bitcoin security, so I don't recommend to friends and family that they store any significant value on their own.  If I could tell them to download Electrum on their laptop, Armory on the old computer in the closet, and put Breadwallet on their iPhone, and chose a 2-of-3 or 3-or-3 setup, IMO that would be very hard to compromise.

I got your point but if you are afraid the developer might put suspicious codes, it is better not to update software or ask a trusted developer to verify codes. FWIW, it will be hard for a developer of a know Bitcoin wallet to push a suspicious code. Codes are being reviewed very frequently but still is better not to rely on other's words unless you trust him/her. Just don't update and that's all what I can say atm.
1232  Other / Meta / Re: why have a delete button if you can't use it? on: June 12, 2015, 11:38:19 AM
Is it the Delete thread button or Delete post button? One can delete posts but I guess for a thread, the delete function doesn't work if there is more than 1 reply on that thread. If there is no reply on the thread, you can delete it.

You can only delete your thread if no one has seen it.

No one has seen it or nobody has replied to it?

If no one has seen it.

If I am not able to delete my thread when it receives just 1 view, it's a useless option.

I think it is SMF default.

Also I have a doubt in this as when I open a self moderation thread and delete the replies, am I able to delete that thread?

No, you can't delete your topic if somebody has seen it even if it is self-moderated. I have tried and failed to delete it.
1233  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: June 12, 2015, 11:33:03 AM
2. Zakir Naik does not believe in evolution.

True and TBH, I don't believe it too because it is just not true. http://x-evolutionist.com/charles-darwin-described-the-problems-with-his-theory-in-his-book-origin-of-species't/ - I haven't read whole page though. Remember, this page is not the reason why I disagree with that *theory* of evolution. AFAIK Darwin's himself said it lacks evidences to support theory. Besides, this is just a theory not a fact.

Just like the Christian science deniers, you don't understand what a scientific theory is. Theory does not mean "hypothesis." A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of something in the natural world that is repeatedly tested and confirmed. Saying the theory of evolution is not a fact is just as ridiculous as saying the theory of gravity is not a fact. Unless you deny gravity too?

I do understand. "A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that is acquired through the scientific method and repeatedly tested and confirmed through observation and experimentation." Smiley

No, I don't deny gravity. There is more than enough proof to believe gravity unlike Darwinism. I have looked more about Darwinism but I couldn't find valid evidences to believe it.

Your last post you just said you didn't even read the through the page of stuff against the theory of evolution. If you don't even read the things you post as evidence to back your wrong opinions, your assertion that you have looked into evolution but find it doesn't have enough evidence to support it has no weight. Luckily, there are people much more thorough in their examination of the evidence (called scientists), so you not believing in evolution is pretty worthless to objective truth.

I said that I didn't read the whole page of the link I gave though I made a quick-look. I have looked into other posts about that theory and have studied about it last year. After doing a bit of research, I think the first quote in the link I gave is out of context. I researched but I wasn't satisfied with it. That's why, I don't believe in it and I know if I didn't believe in it, nothing changes. I mentioned it so that you know. I don't like to hide my beliefs because I believe that if I am wrong in any of my belief, someone will show the wrong belief *is* wrong.

I don't believe that - he is too much a mirror copy of Christian fundamentalists on the Islam side.

Zakir, do Muslims believe the Earth is 6000 years old?

Nope. In fact, Qur'an has not mentioned age of Earth though it mentioned about the creation time and some other things related to creation.

Are you by chance familiar with the arguments that Western secular people have against Christian fundamentalists?

Sorry! No.

I am curious how the believes of Muslim/Christian fundamentalists differ or are similar.

There are indeed differences between Islam and Christianity. It *might* have happened after humans started altering it.

I'm just talking about in 10-15 years time I don't want to find no wallets are able to decrypt BIP38, I'd be in trouble then.
Thank you.

If you are worrying about it, you can stop it now. That won't happen.
1236  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: chinese exchanges reject 20mb block size increase on: June 11, 2015, 03:52:30 PM
I say fuck them. Their volume is faked and we cant expect them NOT being rigged by Communist Party.

As soon as Coinbase, Bitpay, Bitstamp support 20mb fork, we will have majority.

The number of bitcoins mined in China is not faked.

seriouscoin is saying about Chinese exchanges. https://www.google.com/search?q=chinese+bitcoin+exchange+fake+volume
1237  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BIP38 encryption on: June 11, 2015, 03:49:51 PM
Mycelium[1] also allows to swipe a BIP38 wallet.

[1] https://mycelium.com/

I think Mycelium iOS doesn't support BIP38?

Would you guys advise me to move my stash from BIP encrypted paper wallets into just standard paper wallets?

If you can secure unencrypted private keys, then you don't need to use BIP38 encryption but it is always good to have additional security.

I feel a little uneasy having to rely on 2 or 3 services especially the way blockchain.info is lately.
Why don't Armory, Multibit etc have the tools to deal with BIP38 encryption? Seems stupid.

Don't use an online wallet to redeem balance if you are going to reuse that address. Why don't you try Bither or Mycelium?
1238  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recent breach at Blockchain.info -- Android App did a stupid. on: June 11, 2015, 03:48:35 PM
Damn. This is ridiculous. Why did they need to call random.org ?

To get increased randomness.
Right, but that is patentenly ridiculous (imo).  If you have a device with a radio, a gyroscope, a wifi-antenna, a java-random-number generator (that was recently hardened for use with crypto) and then you decide to make a call to a website to get a random number, that seems nuts.

True. They could just do like Bither do.

What's even more nuts is that they weren't getting back a random number but an error page and somehow they weren't even looking at that.  It's pretty shocking.

The worst thing they were not using HTTP to make the webservice call to random.org. On Jan 4, random.org started enforcing HTTPS and returning a 301 Permanently Moved error for HTTP. So from that day onwards, the entropy has actually been the error message which turned into bytes instead of the expected 256-bit number. Using that seed, SecureRandom generated private key for 1Bn9ReEocMG1WEW1qYjuDrdFzEFFDCq43F. When will they learn? Huh Undecided

1. Which wallet are you using?
2. Do you have private key of 1355Me1o14NsciyoFWJvVtUqdR4sGk4k9b or did you delete it?

If you have private key, then you can send Bitcoins from 1355Me1o14NsciyoFWJvVtUqdR4sGk4k9b to 16PH6AYzFr44wFdkVHr4xLj8xTNPii9Yoy. If not, you will loose your Bitcoins. It would be helpful for us if you can be specific about your problem.
