1681  Other / Archival / Re: [BIG LIST] Crypto Debit Cards on: July 24, 2023, 08:55:00 PM
Could you tell me which site you used the card on? I bought a card yesterday and tried to make a purchase from AliExpress but that didn't work. I tried a couple of other services but the same, card keeps being declined.
Sorry, but you can't use them on AliExpress, PayPal or any similar websites, I think I wrote about that before  Tongue
If you want to buy something from AliExpress only way you can pay (other than using credit/debit cards) is with crypto on mirror website called AliBitress for slightly higher prices.
I think AliBitress owner is registered and still active on bitcointalk forum, so you can try talking with him for more details, because I don't vouch for anything Wink

TheBitcoinCompany cards can be used on googleplay or similar websites, but better read their FAQ page:

1682  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payment processor hacked, more than $23M in crypto stolen on: July 24, 2023, 08:48:16 PM
Payment processor Alphapo was hacked for 23 million USD in BTC, ETH and XRP. Did anyone here use them because I can't remember I ever heard about them before.
Nobody even heard about them but I think people indirectly used them with gambling websites, so we could be hearing other casinos having problems, not just ones mentioned in this article.
Does anyone know if Alphapo has any connections with casinos that are active in bitcointalk forum?

Still, that shouldn't be a reason to keep all of it in a hot wallet. Every local supermarket here doesn't put large banknotes in the cash register, but instantly drops it into a safe. I'd expect payment processors to use the digital equivalent of this.
There is always a chance this was some type of inside job, and not even cold wallets could help in that case.

I see that you are a legendary member, I understand that post farming is something natural in you.
I don't think you are interested in mixing bitcoins, I think you are interested in farming post like the previous user. You are also trying to confuse the users and it seems very serious to me that you are trying to make them believe that it is a technical or privacy problem when in reality it is your personal matter.
I think we have a new ''expert'' here who knows everything about account farming and mixing bitcoin  Roll Eyes
That is probably the reason why he is a newbie account registered in forum few months ago and his only activity was in Mixing Services section.
Nobody in the right mind (except you) will defend and trust new mixer that showed up recently...but I understand that being an alt-account is something natural in you.

If you don't like something, don't use it, but don't tell others it's a problem just because you don't like it.
Let me give you some your own medicine.
If you don't like other people posts about this subject simple don't read them and don't comment on them  Cheesy

As long as it's stated clearly enough for any curious user to see, I personally think there's value in having some mixers that "clean" coins while having others that don't. It should be up to the user to choose — sure it's probably 100% best for privacy if the mixer is well known and doesn't "clean" coins, but there are certainly situations where the user 100% needs to not receive his own coins back.
Problem is that there is no universal standard for ''clean'' coins.
Your version of clean, might not be the same as my version of clean, and both of them might not be the same as government version of clean coins.
1684  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: PeachBitcoin.com | P2P Bitcoin Exchange #kycfree on: July 24, 2023, 07:58:11 PM
Let's just think logically together (why the Peach is very promising).
I was one of the first guys who wrote about PeachBitcoin in forum, so I deserve some share of future profits, right?  Just kidding, but I am open for business Grin
They have big growth potential because many people still didn't hear about Peach or they never used it, so there are no sell/buy offers available in many countries.
Biggest problem for me so far is the fact they still didn't switch to (more) open version of code, and they are not available anywhere outside Europe, as far as I know.
I would also like to see Peach web version, that can work as alternative for people who already signed up with smartphones.

1685  Economy / Exchanges / Re: eXch - instant exchange BTC / XMR / LTC / ETH / ERC20 on: July 24, 2023, 07:46:15 PM
We do not stock any coin on purpose since we do not have any liquidity providers and all coins are stocked once our users sell them to us.
Hey there.
Do you have any plans of adding stable coins USDT/USDC on other networks that are not based on ethereum blockchain?
Many people probably switched to other alternative chains because of much lower lower transaction fees.
1686  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [banned mixer] | Best Bitcoin Mixer | Extra Layer of Privacy by XMR Bridge on: July 24, 2023, 07:38:39 PM
Hello, we have replied to your email. We are experiencing a liquidity problem for our advanced method, we do not have an exact timeframe for when the problem will be resolved. It should be solved in a few hours. We are currently working to solve it as soon as possible.
If you already have a problem with liquidity than you should clearly state that on your website and not wait for people to discover this themselves, especially since this is supposed to be ''advanced'' mixing method Tongue
I don't see any messages showing this and same thing would happen to me now if I proceed with advanced mixing now.
Fair thing in this situation would be to either disable it temporary, or at least warn people they will have to wait longer to receive their coins.
1687  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wasabi or Samourai ? on: July 24, 2023, 12:05:12 PM
Do you think it would be better if I swap my ETH to btc via Cross Chain Swap?

Or switch ETH to BTC on Central Exchange and then CoinJoin/Whirlpool?
It would be best if you could swap etherium to monero and than monero to Bitcoin, you can even use decentralized exchange Bisq for that.
That way you won't have to use any centralized exchanges or CoinJoin/Whirlpool, but you can still do it later if you want.
In theory atomic swaps should also work fine for swapping eth-xmr-btc.

Is there anything against Decentralized Cross Chain Swap or Bridge?
Atomic Swap, AtomicDEX (now renamed to Komodo Wallet).
1688  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Mjesečna Analiza za Hrvatsku Lokalnu Zajednicu (Bitcointalk Croatian) on: July 24, 2023, 11:43:53 AM

1689  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 10% discount on Ledger hardware wallets on: July 22, 2023, 08:08:31 PM
I have doubts about the demand for color ledger devices, because they have an indefinite (I don’t know when this promotion will end) 30% discount. Maybe sales aren't going so well.
Pathetic circus promotion.
This sounds to me like they are announcing that ledger is going to be Gone For Good soon, so ''better'' buy them all now because you won't be able to do it tomorrow  Wink
Maybe they should go in front of local circus show in France and try to offer their ''brilliantly secure'' devices to clowns and circus guests.
Ledger - Gone For Good.

Ledger are turning in to a meme at this point.
They have been meme wallet for some time, since all they focus is shitcoins and tokens.
1690  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 39 Hardware Wallets, compared feature by feature on: July 22, 2023, 07:55:18 PM
- Added more info for Keystone 3 wallet
I see you added Keystone 3 and you wrote that battery for new model is not removable, so can you confirm this information?
It sucks they decided to go this route like most smartphones, since opening device will brake warranty and it could trigger their tampering detection protection and make it unusable.

- I created an official Bitcoin Talk user for The Bitcoin Hole: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3567186
What is the difference between The Bitcoin Hole and maxirosson members? Just Rebranding, or you are going to stop using this old account?
1691  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Cypherock X1 - Shamir's Secret Sharing based Hardware wallet on: July 22, 2023, 07:50:02 PM
Can you list down features/support requests you would love to see on Cypherock X1 that would convince you to purchase it? Here is what I could infer -

  • Electrum, PSBT support
  • Multisig support
Here is what I don't like at Cypherock X1 wallet, other than lack of support for Electrum (Sparrow wallet and other third party wallets) and multisig setup.
Price is a bit more expensive than other alternative hardware wallets, there is no support for full Bitcoin node, no signing messages, one account for coin, no coin control.
ATECC608A secure element is a bit outdated and it has some security issues, so it probably should be updated with newer model.
I am not saying Cypherock X1 is bad, but I never used it and I can't really say more about negative/positive things.
1692  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: ledger rollback ledger live on: July 22, 2023, 07:36:24 PM
The problem is that it is difficult to find software to manage altcoins just like with bitcoin where you have Sparrow and Electrum.
There is one option for smartphone devices called Unstoppable wallet, it works very good for bitcoin and altcoins.
For desktop AtomicDEX is not a bad option that can be used both as wallet and as exchange for doing atomic swaps with other coins.
It is not hard to stop using ledger, and there are plenty of good open source device alternatives available.

I then downloaded and accessed the correct older appimage ledger live that was the one newer than the release date associated with the firmware on my ledger nano s.  Using this appimage I was able to transfer successfully (without being forced to upgrade firmware).
That works for now but nobody knows whats going to happen in future, and there is a good chance ledger will force everyone to update at some point, or device will be unusable.
1693  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Which wallet is the most suitable option when considering a switch from Ledger? on: July 22, 2023, 07:17:34 PM
Which Wallet is the Most Suitable Option When Switching from Ledger, and What Are the Reasons Behind This Choice?
There isn't one universal hardware wallet solution for everyone.
I would certainly switch to some open source hardware wallet, that is minimum for people who want to switch from ledger.
If I had to pick one hardware wallet for Bitcoin than I would probably choose Passport wallet, but this is not device for storing altcoins.

I am currently using the Ledger X hardware wallet. However, I have serious concerns about their closed-source software. Therefore, I am seeking the best alternative that can fully secure my funds. Specifically, I am looking for a multicoin wallet, not limited to Bitcoin.
If you want to use Bitcoin and shitcoins for your hardware wallet than you can check Keystone, Trezor, BitBox or OneKey wallet.
Trezor model One is cheapest option but Trezor announced they will soon stop producing it, and Trezor Model T is expensive for me, so I think Keystone is better and it's not that much expensive.
Maybe you could jump in for new model Keystone 3 that is going to be released soon, and it will have a bunch of improvements compared to current Keystone models.
OneKey is based on Trezor source code but they added secure elements with few changes and nice design.
BitBox have separate multicoin wallet version and it is Swiss made device.

Alternative cheap way, that is not really a hardware wallet, is airgap.it.
Use your old smartphone, reset it, disable all internet and wifi connections, install AirGap Vault app and use it similar way like any hardware wallet (for Bitcoin and altcoins).
Or just use old laptop as airgapped device.
1694  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Sparrow vs Electrum for desktop on: July 21, 2023, 01:39:57 PM
  • taproot message signing (bip322)
I wonder if there are any other wallets that support BIP-322 and Taproot message signing or they plan to do it in near future... but this is certainly a nice update coming for Sparrow wallet.
With big jump in using Taproot addresses more and more people are going to need to sign and verify messages for them, just look at this stats chart:

1695  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mixin Safe (Decentralized Multisig+MPC+Timelock solution) review preperation on: July 21, 2023, 12:51:06 PM
The wallets listed are the only supported so far as I know, and only Bitcoin Core, Ledger, Mornin Key have been tested. And I'm sure Trezor doesn't support the miniscript feature yet, so not Mixin Safe compatible.
Thanks for quick answer.
I will have to explore miniscript topic more, especially for hardware wallets, and I will try to find all wallets that support them.
If Coldcard supports miniscript than there is a good chance Passport wallet is also supporting it (they forked from old Coldcard code), unless they decided to opt out.
This is interesting topic for discussion, but if I remember correctly ledger once had a bug that was related with miniscript feature in their wallet.

1696  Other / Meta / Re: TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk on: July 21, 2023, 11:57:27 AM
Careful… someone might as well report the tags to block the ad on your website to the user maintaining uBlock and similars. Grin
It's trivial for me to right click and hide anything I want with uBlockOrigin, but I am not using any adblocker on bitcointalk forum and I won't use them on TalkImg website.
For all other websites I can't function normally on internet without uBlock or DNS ad blocking, maybe that is why youtube is preparing to disable watching any videos for people who block ads...  you will watch ads and be happy  Cool

Either way, I believe that the banner is not too intrusive in the normal use of the site, not bothering users.
There is no problem so far, but please don't fill everything with bunch of new ads in future. Wink
1697  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CryptoDCA - App to DCA into Bitcoin and other coin on: July 21, 2023, 11:32:06 AM
There are other similar websites for showing dollar cost average, and one I used most was dcabtc.com, but your website can be a good competition.
Both websites have very similar interface but I think yours can show other fiat currencies except dollar (EUR, GBP, CHF, CNY, etc).
I would like to see dark theme switch added, but I am not sure I would pay anything for premium DCA app.
1698  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mixin Safe (Decentralized Multisig+MPC+Timelock solution) review preperation on: July 21, 2023, 10:43:51 AM
OK, I somehow managed to register with Mixin and download everything that is needed for testing, so I decided to send my application for review.
I do like the idea of Multisig but let's see how this Mixing setup works in my real life testing.

Question for cedricfung:
Some people in my local board are not sure what wallets are supported except ones mentioned so far (Ledger, Bitcoin Core, Bitbox, Coldcard, Mornin key, etc), so can we get a full list of all supported devices/wallets?
Is Trezor hardware wallet supported?
1699  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: July 21, 2023, 10:42:26 AM
Vidio sam to al me malo odbilo ovo s telefonskim brojevima. Nemam throwaway broj, nit mi ga se baš da stavljat.
Nemam zapravo ni Ledger Grin
Možeš to zaobići i registrirati se bez stvarnog telefonskog broja, to mogu potvrditi 100% i neću ništa više reći o tome Wink
A mislim da ni ledger novčanik niie potreban, imaš i njihov besplatni Morning Key app i ostale novčanike.
Bitcoin Core je dobar novčanik ako imaš full Bitcoin node, ali treba mu puno vremena za sync, jer se preuzima full Bitcoin blockchain.

Ja i Trofo smo upali u Batch5, ali nema još puno praznih slotova.
1700  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Tsp.exchange Perpetual Test Version 1.0 - A New Era of Transparent Exchange(TEX) on: July 20, 2023, 09:10:07 PM
Sorry OP but your Tsp.exchange website is full of grammatical errors with sentences that doesn't make any sense, and I have a feeling this will be used only for trading worthless shitcoins and tokens.
Everything looks cheap and generic, and this is not something I would ever use or recommend to anyone.

?!  Roll Eyes there are many examples like this:
