Stan-O - Hang in there, the price of your coins could go up. We are all doing our best to make money, learning and sharing knowledge. Keep doing what you are doing and don't give up, there will be light at the end of the tunnel. As far as kits, perhaps its best to work with AMT to get everything working and then when you get your miner working, you can articulate your concerns to them and go from there. Do all you can first, and then make a decision. I am also trying to keep a good attitude in hopes that doesn't make the situation worse. I want to also help those who bought the kits, and I want the customers to do well.

A price increase is what i'm hoping for. I havent given up yet. I've been trying to sell that rig. Down to $600, and still cant dump it. I suppose with ant s1's being $400, i could lower my price to $500, and still have enough to turn it for an ant+PSU. that's really all i am trying to do..... sell it for enough to buy a s1 + power. i dont see it as a loss on the 80, but a gain of 100-120GH for free.

Now i wished the whole Bitcoin market would crash. and be worthless. Then Josh would be broke ass and if its true has a 2nd Mortgage on his house he losses everything I think that would be sweet payback.
leave now. btc market crashes we all loose. anyone with experience with these miners are they easy enough to set up to mine alts and chap and change pools??? i imagine it to be like a bat file for cgminer yes, very easy to change pools to mine alts. that's all ive been doing with my 80gh rig. if i were to mine btc directly, i wouldnt make enough to cover electricity. oh poor u lol il be doing the same swimming in alts for fun. new coin smash its back doors in fork it to hell and run to the hills lmao. u seen those 240mhs scrypt aisics for $9000 they pull 1btc a day mining bbq coin this is why btc is dying one guy in pool was getting 4 btc a day and dumping it all ffs pretty much. its a daily chase to find the one alt that will actually turn a profit. It was UNO, which took a screamin shit, then turned to Maza, Myriad and a couple of new ones that havent hit the exchanges yet. Mine and wait for a decent price, then dump. Or, get my .008 from eligius each day, which comes out to $3.40/day. Yes, i have a perfectly legitimate claim to the MPP, since this thing will bring in $90/month. I told AMT this before the rig shipped. According to their MPP, i should have been sent a 220 or 240, or whatever it is. Even then, i dont think it would have met ROI. Now i'm pissed. calmed down for a bit and didn't think about it, but now I'm back to pissed off. Good luck to you guys getting your box of partially working parts, and no upgrades per the MPP. What a shitty way to run a business. Notice how AMT has not directly commented to ANY of my posts? it's because i am right. Everything i've stated on this forum is the truth, and they have no answer for it. have you checked out coinwarz profit calculator. you tell it your hardware and prices of power and it calcs the best coin at that moment in thime and ironically its btc today and yesterday lmao how i do not know.

Terrible idea. CEX is way overpriced so you're guaranteed to lose money over a period of time.

On the topic of mining bitcoins, it's not like only a few people have bitcoin asics, hundreds of thousands of people have these bitcoin boards. If it ever went so low there was no profitability, you KNOW there would be someone out there to create another coin that you could use the hardware. It's not a guarantee but that is my take. On a positive note, you could always make your own virtual currency modeled after bitcoin as well if you wanted.
Where have you been? New altcoins are created virtually everyday. Most of them are never more profitable than bitcoin and never will be. There has to be actual demand for a coin besides 'pump and dump' for it to retain any real value. Bitcoin has value because you can actually use it to purchase things. And most newly mined altcoins are exchanged immediately into Bitcoin. So they remain essentially worthless. Mine altcoins for fun but don't expect to do better than mining for bitcoin.

I have to disagree. Over the past week, I've made around 20 percent more by mining alts. But it does require a LOT more vigilance, and you lose out sometimes. The thing is you can't stick to just one, but you have to know when to jump. Or guess accurately. It is fun, though Plus, my piggies give me a steady bitcoin income.

Yes,
I looked at the chip and saw a black spot right next to where the power plugs into the backplane.
So I soldered it, and now it works fine.
I'm stil only getting 2-3 miners working. I ordered 20 pin male to USB cables, they should be here in a few days, I also ordered a USB hub.
from the USB hub I will plug directly into my Raspberry Pi.
Screw this backplane, its glitchy as hell.

i had both of the boards from my 80 hanging off the usb ports on my laptop at one point. Just to make sure they both worked. Sounds like you're going with a modified version of what i did, using the usb hub.

The vigilance part is constant checking of difficulties, to find th eone with the best diff to price ratio. or, just mine the alt of choice that has the lowest diff, and that you think has the best chance of a price spike in the near future. there are a couple that meet this criteria. It is almost a full time job, keeping up with prices and diffs.

I am not sure how well these USB cables work, but I am sure it will be a quick read on them as opposed to these defective boards that burn out that quick.
Josh, if you are reading this, send me two backplanes please.
