I do not want a kit, I would just like a refund.

Alright, please write to orders@advancedminers.com and someone will get back to you. Thanks.

Hi AMT_Miners, can you please share this information with Allysa. I don't think she got the message my refund was approved by you. When I asked for a refund you said "Alright".

OK it looks like you are not going to give me a refund. Not very happy about this because you told me "Alright" when I asked for a refund. Now, you wont say you won't give me a refund.

Yes,

I looked at the chip and saw a black spot right next to where the power plugs into the backplane.

So I soldered it, and now it works fine.

I'm stil only getting 2-3 miners working. I ordered 20 pin male to USB cables, they should be here in a few days, I also ordered a USB hub.

from the USB hub I will plug directly into my Raspberry Pi.

Screw this backplane, its glitchy as hell.

~Casey

i had both of the boards from my 80 hanging off the usb ports on my laptop at one point.  Just to make sure they both worked.  Sounds like you're going with a modified version of what i did, using the usb hub.
what kind of share sizes do you put in with the 80gh model? just wondering as to what share size is a achievable in the 1.2ths if it would come close to breaking a btc block or not lol

don't know. never tried to solo mine with the 80.
CG MINER KEEPS TRACK OF YOUR BEST SHARE ON ANY COIN UNLESS THERE IS NO GUI FOR THE CG MINER. I WOULD LOVE TO GET INTO THE SUPPORT BACK END BEFORE RECIEVING MY KIT TO SEE WHAT GOODIES LIE BEHIND THE DOOR.

They do hash, and they are legit.

Just because you received a piece of ugly hardware it not means AMT is now a legit enterprise.

I would guess that is not exactly what you paid for...

Yes, this is what I paid for, I took them out of the full size tower, and removed the items from their metal cages.

Still having issues, they are a legit operation.

I asked for a refund and they said "alright" to me yesterday when I asked and this is a public forum. They did say they are shipping me a miner instead when I asked for refund... Feeling depressed....  Angry

Uh... No, you did not just paid for a piece of hardware, you also paid for a certain delivery date, for a certain customer support, for a certain hardware specification, etc. You did not received the whole package which was sold to you. So no, that is not likely what you paid for. But if you insist, be my guest. I always have fun with passive screwed customers.

On the topic of mining bitcoins, it's not like only a few people have bitcoin asics, hundreds of thousands of people have these bitcoin boards. If it ever went so low there was no profitability, you KNOW there would be someone out there to create another coin that you could use the hardware. It's not a guarantee but that is my take. On a positive note, you could always make your own virtual currency modeled after bitcoin as well if you wanted.

Where have you been?  New altcoins are created virtually everyday.  Most of them are never more profitable than bitcoin and never will be.

There has be actual demand for a coin besides 'pump and dump' for it to retain any real value.  Bitcoin has value because you can actually use it to purchase things.  And most newly mined altcoins are exchanged immediately into Bitcoin.  So they remain essentially worthless.

Mine altcoins for fun but don't expect to do better than mining for bitcoin.

I have to disagree. Over the past week, I've made around 20 percent more by mining alts. But it does require a LOT more vigilance, and you lose out sometimes. The thing is you can't stick to just one, but you have to know when to jump. Or guess accurately.

It is fun, though Cheesy

Plus, my piggies give me a steady bitcoin income.

I don't disagree with you disagreeing with me... if that makes sense, lol.  I've done ok mining some alts too.  I just wanted to clarify that there isn't likely to be some great magic alternative to bitcoin if the price keeps tumbling.  Besides, 99% of altcoins need to be converted to BTC before being converted to fiat.

How about you don't insult me?

I've been nothing but cordial to you, I'd expect the same in return. I am trying to troubleshoot this, because obviously I have some crappy items. I like when people give me constructive feedback.

Insults are not welcomed though.

i apologize. i just hate watching you guys "settle" for crap. i really do. i feel like you have rolled over and let AMT take advantage of the bad situation they put you in. don't tell this forum you got what you paid for and AMT is legit because both are lies. pleas don't insult us as well.

i have been waiting since last november for a miner and somehow you got one before me - even if it's broken parts. to sit here and watch you say AMT is "legit" does this forum a HUGE disservice. what if a new person comes along, reads this thread, and sees you saying AMT is "legit". do you really want someone to go through what you went through? do you really want that on your conscience? If you do, and this is conditional, you are an asshole.

Change it to TURBO mode in CGMiner.

You are going to need one power supply to power the CASE fans, and the BACKPLANE board, and maybe ONE module. The other power supply to power the other 4 modules.

This will put it to 1.5 TH/S.

I just figured this out today -.- after 5 days of troubleshooting.

If it shows 0.00Gh/S on the screen, unplug the power attached to the PSU plugged into the (ARM) backplane, and plug it back in.

Basically this is the setup I have on one of them:

1200W plugged into 6 case fans, and into the backplane, and 1 module.
1500W plugged into 4 modules.

You can tinker with it to make it work. I still need to get my OTHER 5 modules running.

I got 5 modules running now at 300+ GH/S, I need a dedicated line ran to power these to their fullest, so I don't have to have 4 power supplies for 3.0 TH/S.

I'm at work, and I JUST got it working about 2 hours ago before I reported for DUTY. I will upload pictures once I am efficiently running this.

I was wrong about the backplane, it works fine...When it has enough power. The last post I made, people need to read, and understand before plugging it into a standard outlet.

I am having my father run a separate line(not good with "electrician stuff") to pull a dedicated AMPERAGE to one outlet.

I would suggest running a 30 AMP breaker, just to be safe and power both Power supplies with turbo mode.

12/13 amps per 5 modules. I am just guestimating, someone can chime in if they'd like(please god chime in, I don't know what I am talking about LOL).

If you are not good with electrical stuff, why surmise an amperage for an outlet?

My Uncle is an electrician, and is going to run me a dedicated line of 30 Amps. I think I should be safe, Josh asked me if I had enough electrical to power them both, I should have thought about it.

glad to see you got it up and running.

Any chance you have access to a kill-a-watt meter or amp meter of some sort to determine the actual draw?

That's why I want to split mine off of two breakers.

I was considering a 1000 and an 850 but I wonder if I should just do dual 1000s

so in theory this unit needs a 2500w psu and nice spangly new wiring from the mains. or hooking up direct to a nuclear reactor to run 100% and amt have been under powering the unit with a 1500w psu which is max a domestic psu supplies. from what i can find online.
thanks for this info i shall now ask my pc shop to see if they can source me a 2500w psu.
what connector does the arm backplane take? 4pin mobo??
