1061  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] Bicknellski's Biased & Opinionated Miner Sellers Trustworthiness Guide on: August 31, 2014, 04:00:40 AM
If you are new to forums you might not know the sordid history of BFL and the number of shills they once had promoting their lies and bs. It really is amazing that even today knowing what we all know as fact that some employees of that company still try to defend this company. Steer very clear of BFL products either hardware or cloud mining they are not to be trusted in any capacity with anyones money or bitcoins.

It's funny that the man who said it would be "ludicrous" if the difficulty hit the 27Billion (the next projected dif) was able to mine $500K worth of BTC.  That's quite a bit of success for someone who makes such ludicrous statements.

Either it was taken from BFL's assets or Josh has been making a tidy profit mining on customer's hardware.  KC might as well be Denmark because something is rotten...
I find it kind of amazing how intentionally blind you people are... Josh was on the mining scene long before BFL was ever thought of, yet no one seems to think he had the presence of mind to hold onto some of that?  Wasn't EMC created way back in June 2011?  Wouldn't that house purchase just be a drop in the bucket from all those coins mined back in 2010/2011 before he ever created that pool?  What about the sale of the pool back when the price of BTC was ~$10?  10K BTC would buy a lot today.  But no, that means all the FUD you're trying to put out there must be wrong, can't have the truth getting in the way of the mob mentality.  Logic has no place in these arguments because you're only willing to use the emotional content to spread your lies.

If anyone has blinders on it's your good sir.  You're working for a company that has horrible customer service and resorts to name calling of it's customer.  Even if everything that is claimed to be immoral and unethical is untrue their very behavior is something that should have been quelled in kindergarten.... and yet you continue your employment with them.  Guess times are tough in KC that you must resort to working for them.

I was on these forms for 6 months before I registered, and unless you had another account before your bcp19 account I'm pretty sure I know more about EMC on the public front that you do.  It's possible that he mined 10K if he had a large farm, but everything he posted back then indicated otherwise.  My assertion was how can a man who was as you claim so in-tune with the mining ecosystem that also melded into blockchain as pure energy claim that it would be "ludicrous" for the difficulty to hit the levels that it has.  Either he was being facetious with customers to sell more BFL ASICs or he is ignorant.  One or the other - can't have it both ways.

So BCP19 are you here to offer conjecture or to tell us something that we don't know.  Sounds like you're reaching... in court they would say "Objection.  Not substantiated. Request to strike from the record."

Had to go to FedEx depot to pick it up they had to search the truck and they found it yay!

btw what's the default IP address on these ? I have a ton of devices don't know the IP

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee106/PFC4L1FE/download_zps037bb1aa.jpg

cleaned out all my DHCP resevations and limited the amount to 20 so I could see when a new one got request and still nothing.

It seems that the SP30 is not requesting a new IP , how do I reset the box ?

hard reset worked punching the button on the front

1063  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beastlymac - scammed me for 3.1 btc - gridseeds group buy on: August 30, 2014, 03:30:11 PM
From an outsider reading in.. it sounds like..

someones brother bought some mining equipment. It was paid for, but not delivered for 4 months. During that time a delivery and or refund was discussed.
Now 4 months on, the refund is off the table ??

Is that the issue pretty much ?

for 5 months i been asking for refund. no response or ignoring from group buy organizer.
after_5_months_ he comes out with "private list" where are worthless goods for me.
for me its a pure scam.

now, after i started the scam thread and asked my bro for help, he marked us as not worthy of trust on forum and he called his buddies for stating opinions in the thread.

as you might expect, he is constantly avoiding answering simple questions concerning his "private list" idea and ignoring me for 5 months.

Give the shipping info, take delivery of your order and get the offered refund. Case closed.
Questions have been answered many times but they are not the answers you want so you "both" persist. You also were negligent during this time.

You would think he would have resolved this weeks ago. But no it continues on and on.

Update?
1065  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order - Specs: 0.69$/GH + 0.46W/GH on: August 29, 2014, 03:29:08 PM
They only refunded for the lack of hashrate not for the lack of efficiency. One of the main selling points of the miner was the energy efficiency, people should be compensated for this as well. Doubled Burned! They bumped the specs up during the group buy even further than original to continue to drum up sales and were pretty cocky about it. If you are happy with this GB you would do well in an abusive relationship.

Better than a BFL relationship.
Better than a KNC relationship.
Better than a Technobit relationship.
Better than an AMT relationship.
Better than a Black Arrow relationship.
Better than a Bitmine relationship.
Better than an Avalon relationship.
Better than pretty much all the others.

As a Bitmain customer as well shipping was slower the machines had issues particularly the cards came loose in shipping and lost a PSU in first 2 months.
Not heard as many complaints about SPTech machines as Bitmain. But they are on par in my book where SPtech has the edge is the miner and the chip quality. Where Bitmain wins is getting units out to customers in larger quantities however they are mining them hard as in "stock" means you get what you get. Let us be honest about that at least. Every good company shipping today has issues.

The only abusive thing in the GB to me was the lack of a proper shipping date window.

As for the loss of efficiency... is it still efficient enough? Yes I think it is.
As for the loss of 6th/s back to 4.5 Th/s was that bad? Sure was but they admitted to the problem as soon as it was discovered and compensated us beyond the actually GB purchase numbers... which I think was a trade off. What is the overall loss for lifetime on the efficiency loss? Anyone calculated it?

Do I as a GB customer feel abused? No not really. Am I extremely happy? No not really. Would it stop me buying again if the price was right no not at all given the alternatives Bitmain or SPTech are both reliable sellers.

There are levels of professionalism and SPTech are doing better than all the others at this point. They are building the best miners at price points that have literally forced the entire market to lower their prices. Now does that mean they are perfect? No but you know what I would rather deal with an "abusive" company like this one vs most if not all the others.

My units arrived in August as promised. I was calculating arrival between August 20th - 25th it shipped on the 27th and arrived on the 28th. Technically not late. When I ordered from Bitmain... shipping delays took an extra day possibly 2 given it had to be shipped cross country by truck instead of being shipped to a local airport where pick up was easier, in comparison to the SP30s being 24 hours basically factory to door to mining. Again crunchy with the smooth. Bottomline I got what I paid for in reasonable time at the price point I was happy with. It could have been better but I am not going to grumble too much given that this is all a pretty big risk to even order in May for August delivery. NEVER PREORDER is the mantra. If the BTC price had remained over 600 and more difficulty didn't hurdy gurdy up the way it did then I would have been much happier. Neither is SPTechs fault. You take a chance every time you lay out coin on miners clearly you are in better hands dealing with SPTech than most. I would buy again if I could find the same discounts I received last time.
1066  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Does buying in bulk make it cheaper? on: August 29, 2014, 07:22:39 AM
... what i understand sooner or later if you ain't got a big network behind you its not going to be even worth mining anymore.

Correct. Unless you have an experienced team and enough money you shouldn't even bother.

The Bitfury 20 MW farms and those farms I posted from China below are the standard  or benchmark. The ones in China and Thailand that I know about are dirt cheap for hydro, cooling and buildings. Think big chicken coop and cheap coal or hydroelectric.

You can't compete with them as they are the same people producing and sometimes selling the miners and chips so their economies of scale per Gh/s is the best and certainly better than their own largest customers. The game you would need to play is working something on a large scale operation say with Spondoolies units and direct ship to a site you have already prepared. Get a bunch of people together and pool your 30K buy ins.

A lot less bothersome? Buy BTC or even some Altcoins and sell off when they peak and then build a farm.
1067  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Does buying in bulk make it cheaper? on: August 28, 2014, 02:56:20 PM

Okay so i looked through seen these:
easy2mine.com
iasicminer.com

Why are they do cheap? Is there something wrong with them. Okay lets put it this way what would  you say i drop 20,000-50,000 On best bang for my buck this would not be for resell it would be for a personal farm.

No.

To be honest if you are going with that sort of volume you will need the space and you will need better efficient miners and some damn fine cooling. SPTech puts out the best units on the market currently in terms of density, ease of application but you will have to wait until mid to late October potentially. This is not a game to just drop a $100K USD at the problem and expect some great return. At this point you would be better off partnering with people and pooling a larger amount and getting the greatest possible discount on hardware you can manage.

This is the sort of thing you compete with now...

Sorry not going to post my TXID here. I can give you the date: Date: 03/05/2014 08:13. Hope that info helps.

3/5 Mine was the on the 27/4 (you can look up my TXID if you don't believe me) And you got your miner already?

WTF Spondoolies! Shipping way out of order!

That was full payment. Not placeholder payment sorry I should have clarified.

Date: 22/04/2014 10:29 is when I put in my deposit you can check that in the GB thread. Which if I am not mistaken is when the order was set for shipping the GB not on full payment as it was a non-refundable deposit and acted as placeholder. Might want to check GB rules / op for that information as well I think it was specified or at least asked about in the thread.

My best guess... you will get an email today or tomorrow... when is the weekend in Israel again?

Edit: We were only a few days off and I bought during a lull or slowing down of sales if I remember correctly can't be that many orders between you and I Stevbenson. Send another email to SALES at sptech and ask again about shipping dates. See the SPTech post on the topic.

Edit 2: 1st miner up with new FW doing solid 4.5 to 4.7 TH/s range. 2nd miner going up soon.
1072  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 28, 2014, 11:19:31 AM
I'm not talking tracking mate... I haven't even been notified about comp options...

Also they repeatedly stated in this thread that the GB would be shipped this week... Do I need to go back and quote it?

EDIT: Bad typos...

When you get the compensation letter shipping letter soon follows.

Wish you speed in reception of both.

I really really hope you are right Bick... The thing is though if you look at the TXID's of the GB I would be roughly half way through...

There are roughly 50 orders with approx. 100 units in front of me and roughly 70 orders for 130 units BEHIND me (Not including the 185 unit whale that we have been told was practically the only one to not pay the full amount)

So they haven't even shipped half the GB yet...

Edit:
This is my TXID if you want to confirm what I am saying

e00c8e0e7dbc4e1ecf47a6ebca8574dcabc1f75e12eb6483f6d338edef1084eb

Anyone who has received a miner or tracking number please post the TXID of your original deposit so we can see where they really are with their orders

Hmmm ya like I posted before be best if they provide a 2 or 3 day window to narrow down when things ship. Not just a before the 31st. When I originally paid I calculated it out based on the info RoadStress and SPtech provided in the thread and it was between the 20th to 25th range given the project production numbers they quoted then. Mine shipped 27th arrived 28th. They have the skills sets to set customers with a much more specific shipping date but I suspect they want to make sure of under promise over deliver.

My feeling is you will get refund notice in before the end of August and shipping will follow rapidly. Can always ask for more compensation if you get your unit in hand post August. That is well within our rights as customers and I dare say that SPTech given their record will listen and consider such a claim with professionalism.

Sorry not going to post my TXID here. I can give you the date: Date: 03/05/2014 08:13. Hope that info helps.

Obviously - 13 hrs in the wrong direction is to be expected & nothing to worry about at all.... (17 hrs since pick up)

Despite making it clear that i'll be away from the 31st, DHL not delivering on Sunday (the 31st) & Guy clarifying that he has no clue if it will arrive this month or next.

but thanks for your 'help'

Are you being fair here?
I assume you got a tracking number and you want an answer from SP when it will be delivered.
SP has said they use the fast possible method and this you can verify from the shipping rate they used. If they used a slow one then you have every right to complain.
Since it has left SP premises and it is with DHL you have to deal with DHL.
DHL/UPS/TNT DONT deliver on Sundays - so even if they used a different company you wouldn't receive it on Sunday.

So now to your issue. The miners are using DHCP to setup network. Maybe you have to make the space needed, prepare network and cabling and have somebody place it there, power it up and then use teamviewer from your computer to setup the credentials to your pool etc.
Then you will be a happy miner Smiley

i think you may be confusing one or more posts with mine.

all i posted was a map with arrows pointing the wrong way. NOT blaming anyone, just pointing out FACTS as opposed to assumpotions and obfuscations. (im not suprised it threw you off though, with so much of it going on in here.

it was collider who once again jumped in with 2 left feet announcing that it was 'normal' and 'nothing to worry about', for what - i dunno...

im sure you can agree that 17 hrs in the wrong direction is far from 'usual' and equally far from 'nothing to worry about'

as to being fair - is shipping the 'august' miners on the last possible days of august fair??

is having a self appointed army of BS artists confusing everyone, fair??

it matters not.

and.... i have not mentioned DHCP/space/networks/cabling/power or any of the other stuff you mentioned, although i dont doubt there will be more drama once it arrives despite what the handful of 'full price' paying optimists claim.

all i/we can do is sit on our hands and occasionally vent in here - and even that seems to upset the same fortunate 'full price' few for some reason...

it seems the 7 usd per day theyve been accruing for 2-3 weeks isnt enough to keep their noses out of the rest of our concerns... peculiar!

Like all of these companies they often have a central hub. DHL = http://www.dpdhl.com/en/logistics_around_us/from_our_divisions/leipzig_hub.html

Suffice to say... they probably ship faster to you via the Lepzig hub than other hubs as per their sorting system. But of course they are going to save the most money if they route packages via the "cheapest" route within their system... or you will definitely pay more for something that doesn't ship through their normal hub routes. Remember most of these companies have a limited fleet so you can't expect perfect straight line coverage. Lots of hops typical.

Note if you are in Norway... EXCELLENT direct route almost from Israel.

My S2s from China to Norway via another company was abysmal nearly 4 days? Had to drive from Oslo to southern Norway and CUSTOMS was a bear as well.
1075  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 28, 2014, 08:29:25 AM
DHL ... touched down in Norway few hours ago then popped over to closer airport.

Buddy picking up the SP30's as I post. Can't wait to see them hashing today!

Pretty fast shipping have to say.

Glad to get tracking... My SP30s on the way to Norway just as the temps start cooling off.

I have had zero issues with Minersource during this Black Arrow fiasco and they are nothing but trying to help find a solution, I am a part of the group buy with Marto and minersource.

Too bad that is not the case for some in that gb with Marto. Problems seem to be growing and growing. As is the usual pattern. More than a few people get screwed over. Then a spate of people come to the forums and defend Technobit yet there are still outstanding issues with refunds going back nearly a year as well as some dirty deals with AMT that still need to be check out. Caveat emptor on all three. Do not buy from any of them you could be become the next person with a Customers Service complaint that goes on unresolved.

There are plenty of other options out there. Steer clear of these people.
1077  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Callout BFL on uncompleted Monarch raffle giveaway on: August 28, 2014, 08:09:56 AM
BFL_Josh posted on 3/29 about a giveaway of a Monarch 28nm miner on the BFL forum:

https://forums.butterflylabs.com/announcements/8203-win-butterfly-labs-imperial-monarch.html

In exchange for spamming up this forum's trust system, he offers to give away hardware to entrants:

Win a Butterfly Labs Imperial Monarch!
1. One entry per person, per day.
2. Entries will consist of 3 positive and 3 negative Trust entries on Bitcointalk.org to the accounts specified. (Listed below)
3. Entries will close the day we ship our first Monarch product to a paying customer. Entries will be accepted up to 23:59 UTC of that day.
4. The winner will be chosen at random via the next block on or after 00:00 (midnight) UTC the day after we begin shipping.
...

They have begun shipping: https://forums.butterflylabs.com/the-monarch-discussion/8758-now-they-shipping-whos-had-one-whats-deal-4.html#post85582  That poster shared his tracking info for a package sent 8/26.

It is therefore past the date of #3 and #4. No list of final entrants has been published, which is required for openness before a blockchain-picked raffle. There has been no activity on the raffle giveaway thread for months. I do not have an account on that forum; I discovered the contest looking at backlinks to my site's pages with the raffle picker. I am just interested in keeping this contest and BFL honest for everyone that wasted their time entering.

screenshot of complete raffle post for posterity: http://we.lovebitco.in/img/bflrafflescreenshot.png

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Those participating in this raffle deserve absolutely nothing other than a negative trust rating along with BFL and BFL posers.

I had hardware in Europe. But now, I've changed my strategy; In my country, the electricity cost increases quickly every year, the gap between here and the USA is so large... Fifteen years ago the story was different.

Got some 'free' electricity / hosting for a few months... works out well for me.
