Hello everyone, I am looking for a bitcoin wallet on Android with Taproot and Ledger support, as well as the possibility to connect to my own Bitcoin Core full node. I've been searching, but haven't found anything that meets all of these requirements. On Windows, I've been using Sparrow and it works fluently.
Choice of Android Bitcoin wallets is very limited but I think that Blockstream Green wallet ticks most of the boxes, it is open source, it has ledger support and I think that taproot is supported, but better check that yourself. Ledger is bad hardware wallet choice in so many ways so I would just ditch it and replace with better open source alternative device.

The regular Trezor Suite update for August now introduces the coinjoin feature for the Trezor One. Previously, only Model T users could participate in coinjoins. The latest software release has also slightly simplified the firmware upgrade process for the Model T. Trezor has gotten rid of the step that involved disconnecting and reconnecting the device.
I know this coinjoin implementation is controversial, but It's amazing to see what Trezor has been able to do with this ancient old device This is first ever hardware wallet in the world and it's still kicking in 2023, almost ten years old.

Join our Envoy and Passport Early Access Rewards Program & Earn Bitcoin! Can people test and report bugs only for Envoy app even if they don't own a Passport device? I read your thread, and when i see you are using Sd memories, i have to say its one of the most corrupted things on tecnology. And im not talking about corupted by hacking or something, im talking about, i remember when the cellphones still use the Sd your archives can become corrupeted by no reason,i lost a lots of old photos saved on the Sd, so why if the data to unlock the wallet get corrupted?
I think they are using industrial grade micro sd card that are like night & day compared to regular consumer garbage sd cards. Anyway, you shouldn't really only on sd cards, you should always have backup phrase in multiple places, written on paper or even better on stainless steel plates or washers.

You can use like this. Just add &bold to the URL.
If it's not a secret, can you say what font are you using? I think you might want to think about slightly changing font type (or spacing) when using bold parameter (if that is even possible). It's fine for most numbers but letters are merging for me and it's not easy to read all of them, that can be a problem when someone want's to verify BTC address. I think I have a solid eyesight, but other people could have even bigger problem reading than me Another strange unreadable result from previous post after I refreshed page:

Bip39-org is a free, open source html & cli standalone tool to create BIP39 Mnemonic from the combination of Email, Password, security questions, and nonces.
I appreciate your efforts, but from my quick testing I see that I can enter anything I want in email field, so this is acting more like additional passphrase. I don't see any real benefit of adding real email address, and it can only hurt newbies who (by mistake) could generate keys while being online. Any random generation and mixing several sources is not really creating true randomness (based on my research). Using something like good old casino dices and calculating last word is much better option in my opinion, but one downside is much slower process. - Is it auditable? I wouldn't recommend anyone using this tool until we see code review or audits from security experts, but it should be fine for experimental purposes.

Why don't you add option to choose different countries without opening world map? I had small issue and I didn't know how to return to main page, and then I found and clicked ₿ symbol in bottom right angle.

There is no KYC during beta testing. The merchants make the prices, so you should expect a slighltly better rate than average price of BTC.
All-in-one platform and mixing everything together doesn't sound like a good idea to me. I guess there are no many offers for trading right now, so temporary no-kyc during beta test period doesn't mean much either. btw you should add link for google play store in first post, bith links are redirecting only to apple store. No, we are not a cloud mining service. You should try our P2P platform, we have an ongoing Bug Bounty and a raffle with prizes in USDT.
I am sure you don't have real mining farms and ASIC devices, so can you name the mining pool you are affiliated with?

Maybe your wallet wasn’t tampered, but mine was! Even if I vaguely remember the Ledger App certified that as genuine.
What do you mean? Did you received ledger wallet from betnomi in some of their giveaway or you got it from some other source? I saw them changing PCB's all the time, and to be honest I don't trust their integrity check process very much, as well as their closed source devices.

You can always encrypt all messages on your own and send them to other members, but they would need to have decrypting keys to read them. If you want to share private confidential information you shouldn't use anything without encryption, but for casual talk it's fine to use forum messages and you shouldn't be concerned about that. Note that not all encryption is made equal, and I don't consider telegram encryption is good.

The patch below removes the extra parameters (without breaking old posts), sets the default to [glow=yellow][/glow], updates/repairs the example on the help page, and changes the icon so that it's yellow instead of green ( ). New patch already? What happened with previous one you worked on for adding 2FA functionality in forum? If this one is done in your free time than I don't mind, but better look for other more serious issues to fix

The image in the OP is probken, @dkbit98 maybe you should switch it to Talkimg.
I know, but I was a bit lazy to replace this and all my other images after imgur incident, even if I know there is nice tool to do everything much faster. Anyway, image is replace now, but it's nothing special just random chip that is not really important for the context. Am I the only one here who's bothered by the fact that there's only one EAL7 on this whole list, and that most of the mainstream hardware wallets either don't have an SE, or low quality one (hence why I chopped out the first few entries)? I don't really care about EAL numbers so much since nobody can verify this for closed source secure elements. Hardware wallet can have highest possible EAL rating and it can still be total crap. It is quite a shame, as HW manufacturers' reputation is built on trust, and I don't see how you're supposed to gather a lot of trust if you only have one hardware wallet released in the last 5 or so years.
I can create my own trust rating but it means nothing, similar like difference between EAL7, EAL6 or EAL5. The certification is quite expensive and time consuming. IIRC, EAL4 already costs >$200k (possibly a lot higher) and a year. Going any further than that, it would probably cost more and takes longer. From the business standpoint, it isn't very practical.
Sounds like a scam to me, all this money just to get some ''certificate'' of security, and there is no guarantee someone wont exploit it, only guarantee is signed NDA aka silence.

There are no Japanese as it would be illegal for them to even offer deals there.
I am not supporting breaking a law anywhere, but let's be realistic, at one point it was illegal to own a gold in America, to sell alcohol, to shop in Sunday, to dance to the National Anthem, to vote if you are a woman, etc. Now I researched a bit and I found current weird laws from Japan, but I don't know if this is true, they say it's illegal to make your own beer there, it's illegal to beg for money, and you can't show your thighs in public... It's almost impossible to make p2p trading illegal. PS Give me few days and I will ask my friends from Japan if they know some loophole for cash-->btc in Japan.

But, did you you see the prices for buying with gift cards? 50% and more above the actual price, lol. I can't spend 1500$ to receive 1000$ . You can always create your own offers with more fair price Also, gift card exchange for whatever always smells like a total scam, I think we both know that. I used gift cards several times and I am not indian tech support scammer They are perfectly legal if purchased in local shop, you are not buying them from unknown internet guy. There are services like bitrefill.com and TheBitcoinCompany that made whole profitable businesses with gift cards and crypto combination. Furthermore, all of these people offering this are not located here, so if anything happens, they cannot even be found.
Their location is not so important with gift cards, if you find good offer or make it yourself. Tried to get Bisq. Downloaded and installed, but....
I have no idea what this error is, but maybe you have old Apple computer with old operating system. And don't expect to find offers in JPY there (I checked myself), you would need to create it yourself, but Bisq is great tool to have.

So also a site like bisq doesn’t help me when I only have cash at the moment, no online banking whatsoever. I keep trying to tell you that Bisq is not a website, it's a open source software you download and install, than you have the option to make your own offer to purchase Bitcoin with CASH in person. Anyway, I researched more current Agoradesk/Localcoinswap offers in Japan and I see there is a option to by Bitcoin with gift cards (nintendo card, g00gle play, apple pay, etc.), that means you can purchase them with cash in some local shops in Kyoto/Osaka, and then exchange this gift cards for Bitcoin using p2p websites and Tor/vpn. If I was in your place I would first test this with small numbers to see if everything works fine. Good luck trying to find someone.

Thanks for the infos but according to local law these sites are not allowed to offer btc for cash adds. There are also 0 ATMs in Japan where you can buy crypto as offering this service is illegal. Until around 2018 there were some but when the new law came they were all shut down.
Strange... I didn't know Japan is so strict with this, especially after I used some services from Japan with crypto payments several times without any problems. Note that Bisq is not a website so there is nothing to shutdown, and nobody can ban it.

Looking at the information in your table, I can see that you mentioned that Trezor plans to introduce a secure element during 2022. We are now in mid 2023 and it hasn't yet been released. Maybe you can make a quick update to that line and place a different date or use different wording?
Updated to 2023/24. I am not a fortune teller, and my predictions are based on Trezor posted articles, blogs, and tweets, and I don't know exact release date. When we are on the subject of Trezor's work on the new SE, as someone who follows that closer than me, is there anything new to report on that? Have they released new release dates or reports on their progress?
I didn't see any official news but I think they are working on new device with new secure element, last thing I saw is them receiving new chips from manufacturers.

Due to security and privacy concerns I only want to deal in cash. I can't just send some 4 digit $ amounts to strangers for obvious reasons. These transfers are no reversible and especially paypal, which I stopped using years ago, is a pure scam trap in my eyes.
Paypal is crap but they started playing with crypto a lot. Maybe you could try using decentralized exchanges like Bisq, Robosats or p2p trading sites like Agoradesk, Localcoinswap, etc. and create your cash offer there. This will be more visible than just opening bitcoin topic, but maybe you have some other local options for bitcoin trading in Japan, or with Bitcoin ATM's. PeachBitcoin is another great option but sadly it only works in Europe currently.

I changed the font after all the comments. I liked it, but was the only one I guess haha.
You made some mistake when you changed the font, maybe it has to do something with size, but small text (check link for current price) is overlapping with prices for all hardware wallets. I tried testing and opening website in several different browsers and I got exactly the same results. Check below screenshoot example: Either you move text to different position or change font size to fix this.
