Paranoid mode: What if the DDOS is designed to force people to reduce their anonymity?
Supper paranoid user reporting here, but did you see latest stats for Tor metrics?
There is a massive jump in Tor users worldwide but especially in Germany, and this was never seen before.
My suspicion is that most of this are operated by government agencies for spying on people, and only small percent increase is from real users.
I don't think recent Cloudflare problems are just as coincidence, and this is not normal.

This is wordwide graph for comparison:

1762  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: kycnot.me bitcointalk version on: July 09, 2023, 10:48:31 PM
I see that some members recommend https://kycnot.me/ for those who want to search for a non KYC exchange lists, after visiting that site, I found that it is not Up to Date, as some exchanges either no longer work or their privacy policy has changed.
Last update on kycnot.me website was few days ago on July 6th, so you can't say it's not up to date.
Maybe some exchanges should be removed from the list (localCryptos for example), but I think you can propose changes on their contact page or on codeberg (github alternative).
There is even forked old version of kyc.net website that is still working but I am not sure if they are updating it:
https://patchysicp.xyz/~wheezy/kycnotme/

I was thinking of creating a similar site, but it is updated by the forum. Are there any updated alternatives to https://kycnot.me, or is there someone in the forum working on this idea, or in other words, is it worth my time or is it a useless idea?
Doing something like this in forum is not a bad idea, but be careful with this, because I saw many similar attempts that could not keep up with all the updates and they usually quit after few months.

...untraceable coins & 100% anonymity
This sounds a lot like something a scammers would say, and I am sure you can't guarantee 100% anonymity with anything today.

Another thing I noticed on your website is that you claim how you can mix 1000 Bitoins (or 20,000 ETH), that is more than 30 or 37 million dollars!
and I really doubt you have that amount of coins, and you probably can't prove it by signing a message, am I right?

I will have more times in next few days and I will check mix.guru website more and post my updates.

1764  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: My worries with ledger on: July 09, 2023, 10:02:00 PM
The difference is how you use it: I don't trust my smartphone, but I use it anyway and make sure I don't risk too much. Hardware wallets were supposed to replace cold storage, which now turns out to be a lie.
Of course, even with cold wallets I need to trust software, but it's a lot easier to be absolutely sure my private keys can't be sent somewhere.
How does it turn to be a lie?
If you think about ledger, than you could saw I was warning people to stay away for years, it is closed sourced and I never consider it a real cold storage.
Definition for cold storage is clear, device should not be directly connected with internet or with other device, and airgapped hardware wallets (Passport, Keystone, etc) are doing that exactly.
If you think there are no cold storage hardware wallets, than there is no computer that can be used for cold storage with electrum wallet.

I never said I trust my computer.
But you have to use it with your electrum ''cold'' setup.

You said it: "modern" Tongue It's one of the reasons I'm still using my old laptop. The other reason is being lazy.
Than you have different problem, they are all considered insecure and outdated. Wink
1765  Economy / Services / Re: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ [OPEN] Signature rent ✅ on: July 07, 2023, 09:38:30 PM
I want to thank everyone who send me their offers for working together in last few days, I really appreciate it.

My signature space is now officially rented, but you can always contact me if you have better offers in mind and I will review everything you send me.
1766  Other / Meta / Re: TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk on: July 07, 2023, 09:24:56 PM
But how were you thinking I would do that?
Simple.
Just write amount of donations you received each month.
For example in July you received total of 0.1 BTC (in theory) from multiple different user transactions.
You don't have to write each amount, addresses, etc, just write that you received 0.1 BTC worth $3031 and you thank everyone who donated.
This is just example what I would do, but you can do whatever you want Wink
1767  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: July 07, 2023, 09:15:01 PM
Its time for yet another brief monthly overview of the local boards activity, but this time with a bit longer delay than usual.
Our local board had very good Merit/Post ratio in May, maybe we could do a bit better with activity but I am certainly not going to write more than I usually do for anything.
When I was in Coinslotty campaign I didn't have any limitations and I didn't had to write any post in local board (or anywhere else) and I still was very much active and in top 3, not bad at all Cool
We need to have more fresh blood and new members, but I am not expecting big change during summertime.
1768  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: My worries with ledger on: July 07, 2023, 08:52:28 PM
Too little too late Tongue Truely paranoid people (like me) wouldn't have trusted any third party device in the first place.
Funny you are saying this because you are already using third party devices like your computer and smartphone that all have closed source hardware components (some even software).
So trusting computer that has much bigger attack vectors than open source hardware wallet.... that doesn't make any sense to me and real security experts like Andreas Antonopoulos and Jameson Lopp agrees with that.
I am not saying what anyone should use for holding Bitcoin, and I am certainly not supporting ledger and other closed source devices, but computers are NOT safer than good open source hardware wallet.
All modern computers and laptops have hidden spy operating system running all the time, and only way to remove it is maybe with Coreboot or with other open source alternative bios, but that needs flashing chips with raspberry pi.
1769  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Keystone 3 HW talk on: July 07, 2023, 08:28:36 PM
I heard about this news few months ago but I had to wait for official announcement, now it's here, new Keystone 3 hardware wallet is coming soon!

Anyone can join the waitlist with promotional discount price by posting on Keystone twitter page, and you can find that link Join Waitlist on their website.

What we know Keystone 3 so far?

Not much, but based on twitter posts and other information from Keystone team we know that new device will be redesigned and much thinner than in older models.

We don't know anything about the price and other changes compared to current Keystone wallets, but they are mentioning some new Security Schemes that will be revealed in few days.

I tried talking with Keystone team several times to find out more but communication on their end is very bad Tongue

https://keyst.one/

This topic will be used for posting any news and updates about new Keystone 3 device.

Note that I am not supporting Keystone wallet in any way, and you should do your own research for everything.

1770  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Bitcoin Secure Multisig Setup (BSMS) Backup on: July 07, 2023, 08:10:22 PM
First of all, Nunchuk is open source. Second, I think the "BCR-2020-010" is going to be a standard and more wallets will implement it. This is not something invented by Nunchuk and SeedHammer, It is defined
Maybe Nunchuk is open source but it can be confusing for some people with guest mode and with creating online accounts that can always get hacked and leaked.
I never had a chance to test Nunchuk more deeper, so I am saying this with reservation because I never uses this wallet in real world scenario.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think using Nunchuk as guest has any benefits, so I am forced to create account, right?

1771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Best wallet for Android? on: July 07, 2023, 07:56:44 PM
I've come across many positive reviews about AirGap Vault. When installed on an Android smartphone, it transforms the device into a system with security comparable to dedicated hardware wallets. I personally haven't tried AirGap Vault since my holdings are stored on Passport 2, but if the features described below are accurate, then this wallet certainly deserves the attention of Android fans
AirGap is far from perfect but I think it is much better option than using most other mobile wallets, and it is possibly better than using some popular closed source wallets.

If you already have old Android device collecting dust than it's much better to use it only for AirGap, but there are some limitations and you can't use ancient Android 4 and 5 I think, this was tested by myself Wink

If you ask me what smartphone is best, than I would say old deg00gled Pixel phone (Maybe Pixel 3 or 4) with GrapheneOS, than install Airgap.
1772  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: The wallet is not responding! on: July 07, 2023, 07:45:26 PM
Please help, we have been working for a whole year and here is such a disaster.
Did you generate seed in Electrum wallet or somewhere else?
First make sure you have latest version of Electrum wallet and that your computer is free from any malware software.
If you have the seed words backup in safe place than you don't have to worry about anything, and you can also confirm amount of coins you have in blockchain explorer.
Windows OS can often create problems so I would suggest switching to good Linux OS, but there is one alternative for Electrum called Sparrow wallet so you can check if that works better for you.

2.Enable Monero and Ethereum deposits and withdrawals. When you enter your private key you will see your Note balance in BTC, XMR and ETH.
Using Monero should be fine since it is privacy coin by default, and it has nice volume on Bisq exchange, but I see no reason at all in using ethereum and similar shitcoins.

Enable internal 'bridging' between BTC, XMR and ETH for a fee. You will be able to deposit ETH on your Whirlwind Note, change it internally to BTC and withdraw it to your on-chain address.
Wouldn't this be categorized as centralized exchange?
We already have options or that, and you could get in (bigger) trouble with authorities for doing that.

There will be no 3rd party involved in the bridging process, we will provide the liquidity on all 3 chains and rebalance it when needed.
That can open whole new can of worms and you should expect much more complications, support questions and complains, if you decide to implement this change.
I would be careful with this, since attack vector is getting bigger also, as well as chance for more bugs is code.l
1775  Other / Archival / Re: Sinbad.io Mixer - secure, fast and easy to use on: July 06, 2023, 07:00:03 PM
It might be a bit redundant given the warning of the list of impersonating sites is already made on the opening post, but I think it's better be safe redundant than sorry, I noticed that the impersonating site also have their own tor page.
I never saw anyone cloning onion links to almost identical, and most people usually just confirm starting and ending parts of address.
However, I went ahead and entered that onion address in Tor browser and it didn't work, after trying all possible combination I always received Invalid Onionsite Address message in browser.
Scammers are probably hoping for users to switch back to fake clearnet address and send them coins.
1776  Economy / Reputation / Re: Judgment Thread For PytagoraZ by JollyGood on: July 06, 2023, 06:24:08 PM
I got a neutral tag from jollygood. Is it important? yes it is important for me. He accuses me of being an alt and accuses me of being a merit finder for signature campaign
Be happy he didn't gave you negative feedback, because it took a long time for him to stop being easy on trigger like that, and there is nothing wrong with neutral feedback.

Just to make things clear, I don't trust what you say also, there are so many liars in this forum that I am suspecting everyone can be a cheater.
1777  Other / Meta / Re: TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk on: July 06, 2023, 06:13:51 PM
After two months of operations, I want to once again take advantage of all the support that the community has given to this project.
The numbers prove it, thank you very much.
Don't forget to add report for all the Bitcoin donations you received so far, you don't have to add exact addresses and names, just add total amounts.
I know you could use more funding, and this can be a good reminder for anon donators to help you when they can, every sats count.
My suggestion is to post small report updated like this every month, or at least every few months.

- Donations: Anyone wishing to support this project can make their bitcoin donations to the address: bc1qhwnncpdd8gfzqwjkk9n052wf7g9mvks3xaa7qa
1778  Other / Meta / Re: A concise 2FA/TOTP implementation (SMF patch) on: July 06, 2023, 06:07:27 PM
Don't worry, the QR code is just there as a convenience, you can ignore it, if you like, and manually copy the displayed secret into whatever application you're using to generate OTPs. (You can also hover over "Shared secret (Base32)" to see a tooltip with the other details you might need while importing it.)
Good to hear that, because I am not a big fan of QR codes at all.
Yes, they can be useful sometimes, but not as much like some people are trying to present, and there are some hidden dangerous with using them.
Recently I tried scanning QR code from one bike and it was impossible to do it, it gave me error all the time and I tried using many different programs.
On top of that some hardware wallets like safepal are using stupid closed source encryption with QR codes, and that is no go for me.
Let me just say that everything in China is full of QR codes, and they plan to use them with their CBDC slave wallets, that should be red flag for everyone, and I don't mean red PRC country flag.
1779  Other / Meta / Re: Know who ignores who on: July 06, 2023, 05:59:08 PM
I also never ignore anyone. I usually do the reading filter, just looking.
But, maybe because I don't navigate in areas of the forum where these users usually post.
Ignoring something is not a bad idea at all, it's like using adblocker on youtube or on any other website that is full of ads and other crap.

Using ignore option in bitcointalk forum will save you precious time, and it can help you avoid potential further conflicts with other members, so if you can't get along with someone better just ignore him.

I would even go step further to improve it and add super-ignore option to totally remove (from sight) some members and/or parts of the forum, but this is hard core for some people   Cool
1780  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which will be best non-KYC exchanger after Ku-coin? on: July 06, 2023, 05:47:50 PM
I want to trade pair Ripple\BTC, or LTC\BTC, and maybe also with cross leverage. Tell me, is there such an opportunity on Bisq? Or maybe on other decentralized exchanges?
No, you can't trade shitcoins like ripple on Bisq exchange, and there is Litecoin but there is no volume for that tradin pair right now (I guess you can always create your own offer).
Bisq is mostly used for trading fiat currency with Bitcoin or Moneor, and you can check all Bisq markets here:
https://bisq.markets/

For BTC-LTC maybe there are few more alternatives like BlockDX, AtomicDEX (not sure about volume), Atomic Swaps or some centralized swap exchanges like exch.cx.
