1961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana takes back top 10 position on: January 16, 2023, 05:55:52 PM
Definitely a pump and the part where it is going to be a dump is coming right away. I have to say that it's going to be something that is going to be troubling for most people when the price starts to go down and I fear that too many people will be impacted by this as well.

I get that it made some hyped movements and a lot of people ended up buying it, but I am warning everyone against getting too much of it because it will definitely end up with losing a lot of its valuation very soon. It's better to have just a bit of return but at least a return that you are proud of, that would be a lot better for all of us to make sure we invest into something trustworthy instead.
1962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How do you feel about market recovery on: January 15, 2023, 12:59:54 PM
I feel like the situation doesn't really give me hopes for a big bull run just yet. I know some people think that this is start of a bull run, but I think not yet, it is going to take a while before we could reach there. I know that it will happen, and I trust that bitcoin will break ATH again, maybe this year or maybe some other year but it will happen.

All I am saying is that we are not going to see that skyrocketing price anytime soon just yet. This was a good increase, and I am expecting it to either stay around here, or drop, or maybe go up just a tiny bit, like 10-20% more, but not going to see those amazing 2x or more increases just yet, it will have to wait some more.
1963  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NYC schools block ChatGPT, fearing negative impact on learning on: January 14, 2023, 02:34:23 PM
It is. It is 100% good enough to write essays, I have a close friend of mine who is a teacher and they are just patiently waiting for someone to figure out a way to stop students from using it. They have no idea if some or any or even all of the students are using it to write their essays, because you give them homeworks and they could get something like this out in a matter of seconds, and the homework would be done yet there is absolutely no way that people would know if it was chatgpt or not.

So ,I am entirely sure that this is an educational nightmare right now, I heard it first hand, and yet I have no idea if it will be fixed anytime soon.
1964  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did Miss El Salvador cause the Bitcoin price to spike last night? on: January 14, 2023, 11:12:22 AM
I do not think that price jumped because of this, because I do not believe that not even that many people watch this, it never really felt that way at all. But at the same time, we have to say that it's an important thing and it does definitely bring a lot more eyes on bitcoin, a good thing for sure.

Something doesn't have to increase the price a lot to be a good thing for bitcoin, there are some things in the world that doesn't increase the price but still good for the long term of bitcoin and that is why I believe that we should be investing a lot more to those type of things, to make it more known and help in the long run, build some sort of strong foundation.
1965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keep your emotions balanced especially regarding Bitcoin on: January 14, 2023, 08:42:22 AM
It is not as easy as it looks, it takes time before you could do something like this and it's understandable, but at the end of the day it is going to be a pretty big part of your life if you are going to keep focusing on what is happening.

I believe that the best thing to do would be limiting your emotions, getting rid of them is not easy but you could at least limit them. Like for example locking your money would mean that you can't use it even if you want to and that is why I tend to lock them when I can, it allows me to not look at them for a while. Too many people end up with a bit of a problem when they end up with emotions during a bear market.
1966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you stacking up on? on: January 13, 2023, 10:14:23 PM
If we are not going to talk about BTC (because altcoin section) then ETH and BNB, not that I do not have anything else, I have a small amount in other things as well but those two are what I keep rebuying more and more. I am going to end up with as much of them as I could possibly have, not that I am going to stop anytime soon.

It means that every time I get my salary, I am going to spend a little bit of it on buying eth and bnb, right now at 50-50% situation but I will get some more ETH later on during the summer when I will get rid of all my debt (which is almost over) and can spare more money. I understand people who buy smaller cap stuff, but this is what I prefer.
1967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 13, 2023, 09:55:54 PM
Moukoko going to Newcastle seems to be getting a lot more real. He has been offered an amount by Dortmund and hasn't accepted it yet, which means that he knows what one side is offering right now and waiting for the other shoe to drop.

This means he is expecting Newcastle to have a bigger and better offer, and as we all know they are owned by the richest person in the world probably, not open to public but that seems like it, and they could offer him 10x more than what Dortmund offered, probably won't be that big but they can definitely offer more and this means if that's all he is waiting for, then he will get what he is asking and will leave Dortmund for sure.
1968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is investing in ethereum safe? on: January 13, 2023, 09:46:32 PM
I do believe that it's one of the best out there right now. I know not many people believe this but it is definitely the best altcoin for me. It is obvious that many people think the same way as well because it is the second biggest coin ever, only after bitcoin itself and if people didn't think that it's the best coin then it wouldn't be able to go there at all.

This is why it should have been so important to have some on your portfolio and I can definitely say that I trust it to be safe. This is of course my understanding and if we are talking about being safe or not, you can't possibly know and maybe I could be wrong about it and it's not, but I do trust it.
1969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: January 13, 2023, 08:21:53 PM
This is the type of team Lens is, I know many people expected a lot more from them and even wanted to see them fight against PSG because we are tired of seeing PSG dominated the league and all, but they are the type of team that would drop points at unexpected moments because they are not as good as people think they are.

The reality is that we are going to see PSG win it again, and they have such amazing squad that I am pretty sure they would beat 50%+ of the teams if they didn't had neymar-mbappe-messi trio, like literally all of that would be gone and they could still beat more than half of the league which is a great power to have for sure.
1970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it becoming a thread for casinos refusing paying very huge winnings? on: January 13, 2023, 07:06:11 PM
There are some individuals who claimed this and I understand that it has been a bit more common in here and there, but that's more about us hearing more about it now than it happening more these days.

I think the amount of times it happened is exactly the same and has not increased at all, I think this has happened before and it has been the same amount of times, but this time around we are hearing more about it and that's a lot more important. That's why it's quite important to keep it going with the reputation topics and increasing the importance of bitcointalk, because it's not just about crypto, but it's also about keeping casinos responsible for all their actions.
1971  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best crypto selling method on exchanges on: January 13, 2023, 06:12:34 PM
I do prefer to sell it instantly because I rarely sell and when I do that means I need it right away. Plus, I am a long term investor, which means that if I am going to sell my coins, it is already at a very vastly different price point and that means that small difference between selling instantly on market price versus selling on an order is not that huge compared to the huge difference between when I bought and when I sell.

My ideal situation would be selling when the price hits over 100k, so lets assume that it did and I am going to sell, the price is something like 103.2k and I sell at 103.1k because of market sell, do you think it would matter at all?
1972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why most of airdrops don't pay participants with tokens in these days?? on: January 13, 2023, 05:49:03 PM
I think it has everything to do with the bear market. Most projects back in the day would make some money, not a lot but at least some even if they are bad and they could make A LOT of money if they were any good.

These days most of them suck and they do not make any money at all which means that they just give up, I have seen plenty of projects like that where the owners just give up, because their bounty didn't work and it resulted with them being terrible in the long run and they just do not want to give tokens to people because they stop the project. Same happened here, just doesn't make sense to me at all and would be smarter if it was not participated in at the first place.
1973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Degods -> ETH, y00ts -> Polygon, Will $SOL going down more? on: January 13, 2023, 05:14:44 PM
I honestly do not think that these were what kept SOL be high, nor they are not the ones that made it good neither. If SOL drops, it will be totally unrelated to this, and if it ever goes up it will be unrelated to this as well.

I believe that we are going to have some sort of trouble in the long run if we just trust SOL to be good based on the projects it has, because those projects could leave at any moment, if you want to trust SOL then trust it directly and invest into it because SOL is good and not because of any other project. I personally do not like it that much, but do not dislike it more because of this at all, unrelated.
1974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: January 12, 2023, 10:14:08 PM
The fact that this topic didn't existed more than a week ago, and already has been 8+ pages shows the power of Cristiano Ronaldo. Not that he is still a superstar, he is a superstar "name" but he is not the type of player you would put at Reals front anymore obviously, because he got older. Don't know what people expected, him to win ballon d'or until 50 years old? Of course not.

However, his name is still huge, his name alone made it possible for him to get paid that much, not just his talents. This is as much of a PR move by the team and the league and even the nation as it was for football reasons, probably more PR than football actually. So, it doesn't matter how he plays there.
1975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 12, 2023, 09:05:30 PM
Sengun had his first career triple double, and the youngest ever to have this at centre position as well. That kid looks like he could be something special given the right training and right way to use him, he is not bad at passing at all, and a passing centre is very vital in todays NBA considering it's a guard scoring heavy league.

Even Jokic doesn't feel the need to score every night if he could get his teammates scoring a lot, and three pointers are a lot more important. Most of his assists came from picks as well, he sets a pick with the ball in his hand, that's is move and he rolls to the paint as well so you either let the guard score, or you leave Sengun empty which he can score easily there too.
1976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Celsius won $4.2B worth of customers funds on: January 12, 2023, 06:53:53 PM
If I am not wrong, during times like these there is a law that prevents all debtors to get 100% of the funds. You first pay the customers a max number, something like 25k or something if I am not wrong, don't remember the exact number to be fair, and they get their money, if you invested 100 dollars, you get that 100 back, if invested 5k, get that 5k back, but if you invested 10 million, you only get the max.

So, whatever left will go to whatever payment needed for the bankruptcy and that's it. Means, it's not like customers get zero, but the rich are hurt by this a lot more than the poor people and that is one of the few cases where poor are protected in American law.
1977  Economy / Economics / Re: Good economic news from the US, EU and China! on: January 12, 2023, 03:34:20 PM
It has always been known, well not always but it is a general rule of thumb type of deal. When you have a horrible economy, first you print a lot of money and cause inflation because that means nobody is left with zero money, they can survive, and that helps you get through the first stage, then inflation happens and yeah people are not homeless but they are also not surviving, they are barely paying for food due to increasing prices so you increase interest rate to slow down the inflation.

People keep getting salary increases every year, and inflation was high so they will get a lot in 2023 whereas inflation wouldn't be that high this year. This means companies will try to not hire more new people, hence recession but at least the ones that keep their job will be much better this year and will spend money so companies will make a profit.
1978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cronos Price Prediction: Will CRO Price Hit $0.25 in 2023? on: January 12, 2023, 01:56:02 PM
I highly doubt CRO would go up that much, not that it sucks all alone and it is terrible and all that, but because the bull market needs to first bring the high names up first, and then start working on the lower end ones like CRO. Which means, I am not saying it won't go up, all I am saying that it is not its turn yet and that's going to be a tough situation to be in.

I know it is not going to be a big trouble for it to go up, but it needs to wait a bit longer than 2023 before it could reach those levels. Maybe in 2024? That's a possibility, if it is still a relevant one that people invest into, then maybe in 2024, but not in 2023 just yet because we need more time for it at this current stage.
1979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terra LUNA Classic Price Prediction 2023-2025 on: January 11, 2023, 09:58:01 PM
There is this insisting on keeping this alive, and I am not entirely sure why? Like I get that you liked it beforehand, but then after what has happened happened, how could we say that it is still a thing? I am not entirely sure if that makes sense to me at all.

I understand that it is not going to be an easy thing at all to accept the situation they are in, but that doesn't change the fact that we have not seen anything big at all during this period, it is quite important to make it consider this way at all.
1980  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone making 4 or 5 digits (USD) monthly from Crypto Sports betting? on: January 11, 2023, 06:16:42 PM
I am not, and if it was just a situation where I have to make a living out of this, I would not be picking sports betting as my go to situation. I mean it's such a risky thing, I would rather do like trading or something to make it and I am not making my living out of trading neither, that's also quite risky but I would pick that over gambling at least, because there is no house edge or anything like that.

The whole point of gambling is to make sure casino wins, they are a business and they are giving you chance to win money by making sure they have a higher chance of making money which means that you wouldn't win on the long run and that's why I wouldn't pick it at all.
