Has support for the RX Vega 64 been added into SMOS? What about overclocking features too?

Anyone tested it yet?

I have a 6 GPU RX Vega 64 that i'm planning to expand into 13.

Hi, what will caused miner program restart often ? Is there anyway to check ?

My rig can restart up to 20 times a day, with or without OC.

1 of my rig is 6 x 1050 TI 4GB, OC setting is +0 core +1500 memory 62watt power limit, temp is between 55-65c, 14.9Mh/s each card

Please advise, thanks.

Sadly the AMD Blockchain Compute driver hasn't been released for Linux yet.. so mining with RX Vega and Simplemining OS wouldn't be optimal atm as far as I see it.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-Beta-for-Blockchain-Compute-Release-Notes.aspx

I have no clue if Simplemining OS even supports RX Vega, just thought I should mention the lack of proper driver for Linux

Website: http://simplemining.net

What is SimpleMining OS (SMOS) ?
It is nice looking and easy Operating system for mining on AMD GPUs

Most wanted info:
- idea is simple: download for free my OS and write it to any drive: Hard / SSD / even USB drive
- after that you just enter your email address in config.txt file and boot your rig
- login to simplemining.net dashboard using the same email and start managing your rig Smiley
- you can test it for free and then you need to pay only 2$ per rig per month
- if there will be new miner i will implement it fast with auto-updates system

Requirements:
- R OS = AMD GPUs R300/R200/HD7xxx series
- RX OS = AMD GPUs RX400/RX500 series
- NV OS = Nvidia GPUs (alsmost all of them)
- hard drive / ssd / usb drive - it must be 7GB or bigger
- at least 1-4GB system memory (depend how much GPUs are you using and what miner)

About me
- I am linux admin for about 13 years and crypto miner for 5 years
- Linux, programming, scripting, mining are my hobbies Smiley
- i am honest and simple IT guy who whants to make world better and give something to it

btw latest nvidia simplemining os works very good on nvidia rigs. i have good hashrates with minimal overclock - better than windows with ebwf! great job!

is there any miner on simpleminer which mines with cpu?

Hey guys,

3 days ago i upgraded all my rigs from Windows to Simplemining but im running into problems:
All my rigs run significantly hotter with Simplemining compared to Windows.

My 6x1060 Rig runs at around 70-80° with 100% fan
My 6x1070 Rig runs at around 74-78° with 100% fan

Under Windows all Rigs had maximum 72, 73° with 75% fan

Even with 0 overclock, my 1060 Rig is hitting 75-80°C with 100% fan.
Something is wrong, do you have any idea what it is?
My Watt-limits are all around 120-140 Watts, might that be the problem?

simplemining can not undervolt core. that could be reason. if you are undervolting in windows thats could be why are you getting much lower temps and power consumption in windows.

Hashrate fell by about 10 mhs (from 170 to 160 and from 160 to 150 approximately).
Can someone share your best settings for this cards? Would be very grateful.

Where can I find the information that explains the overclocking settings: core mhz, memory mhz, power limit, target temperature, minimum fan speed?

Are there any planned changes coming for the power limit configuration? This might be the one reason I switch back to Windows as my rigs now each use around 200W more than windows.

RX 580 4GB is having issues. Anything under power limit/stage 4 gives terrible hashrate and some cards stop mining.

Same problem here, I have 27 RX580 NITRO+ 8G. Undervolt on Linux does not work, either on Ethos or SMOS. I also had to go back to Windows and remove one GPU from each rig to be 8 GPU each rig.  All Linux OS, "globalpowertune 4" not work with double mining (card stop) and suck to much power anyway, 5 is beyond too much power.

The whole purpose of having a Linux operating system is to recognize all the GPUs and do the undervolt, but the system can not, so the whole purpose for using Linux ends here.

I work for a company that wanted to buy 100 Ethos licenses or use SMos, was all cancelled to use Windows

I think you can try to write moded undervolted BIOS to cards for Linux ethOS or smOS.

----
BTC

You could do this... I prefer realtime undervolting on Linux, however, which *is* in fact possible (NSFW): https://i.imgur.com/1UEGeRz.jpg

Did you do undervolt on bios or on Linux? Can you tell me what parameters you used on the rx580 nitro +? thank you

Hi, i have the same problem in my new project : http://simplemining.net/
Anyway it doesnt bother mining and about logs you can turn then off:
as root execute this command and you will have no longer such problem Smiley systemctl disable rsyslog.service
then delete big file logs from /var/log/ adn reboot system, then it will work fine.
If you want i will release my http://simplemining.net/ Operating System which will have this fix and many more + feature updates.

Can someone please clarify what Tytanick means here? Is this only for independent Linux users and not Simplemining users?

I am using Simplemining.net and I get these error messages with four out of six RX480s.

Fixes I have tried:
I have the -dbg -1 code in the config text in the global options window.
I have tried each card with risers that I know are stable because they work with two of my cards.
I have tried various versions of drivers and kernels but found no difference with these errors.

I still am thinking that it is a driver/kernel issue but I have run out of options that I know to try.

Please help!

Only Tytanick could think suppressing an actual fairly serious warning is a "feature."

It's a high memclk and/or very tight VBIOS GDDR5 timings. It's causing memory errors.

My memory clock on Simpleminer is set at stock: 2000MHz (8000Mhz GDDR5). So should I learn how to decode the timing values from the HEX code? Or can I just alter the timings in Simplemining?
