Been totally stable since my first post.

Doc, if you want my email so you can email me to test new versions drop me a message. I have bfl ASIC's on preorder as well.

Cool. v1.3.1 should be ready soon.

Can you send me an email at operator@bitminter.com - then I can let you know when there is something new to test. Thanks for the help! Smiley

Any ideas why I can't mine using the stratum protocol using bfgminer?

I prefer to use cgminer, but being a Gentoo Linux user, the version which is capable of stratum has yet to appear in my repos, so I am stuck with cgminer-2.7.*

However, I do have bfgminer-2.10.* which is supposed to be capable of stratum, and yet it fails miserably.

I try to connect with....
stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333/

It complains no servers can be found.
It does however work using getwork - the traditional way http:// etc etc

I haven't tried bfgminer 2.10 yet, but it worked fine with 2.9 (with the same URL you are using)

This works for me with bfgminer 2.9.2:

Code:
bfgminer --url stratum+tcp://mint.bitminter.com:3333/ --user DrHaribo_worker --pass workerpass

well, seems win 8 is working better for this prog Smiley Right now HD 7970 ghz edition, under win 8 it gets 640mhash with bitminter web prog and win 7 gets 530-580mhash.

love this simple prog very much and hope after asics will hit, then it'll support litecoin too (or make new version for litecoin), cause I need something for my VGA-s  Grin Grin Grin

Oops I forgot to fix the reward graph. Now working properly again.

It was still assuming that blocks should give 50 BTC instead of 25 BTC so our luck looked horrid.

Thanks for the fix! By the way, is the reward page causing a large load on the server every time it's viewed? It loads quite slowly.

The web server's access to the database is a bit slow right now. This page in particular is very slow because of that. I'm not yet done with all the changes after the DDoS attack. This will improve in the future.

can workers be sorted alfabeticaly?
now its random.

p.s.

correct me if I'm wrong,
with EMC disabling NMC mergemining, BitMinter is the single most efficient pool.
only one with all 4 efficiency-important features :  stratum,NMC,no fee,paying transfer .

This is exactly why I'm staying with BitMinter. But I can't imagine how the pool could stay online if everyone had their fee set at 0% Smiley

If I remember right they are sorted in the order in which they were created. I'll add selectable table sorting to my TODO list.

I'm not sure. I don't think there is a pool comparison like that anywhere?

But yeah, zero fee with namecoins and transaction fees paid out is probably the best pay anywhere. We also have a very low reject ratio, especially when using Stratum. The only way to top this would be to merge more coins. But the other mergeable coins look kind of worthless. Keep in mind that income from transaction fees and namecoins are much more important now after the reward halving. Tell your friends! Smiley

That said, I hope those who like the pool will consider enabling donations, or just don't disable them as they are enabled for new users. Some income is needed to pay expenses like server rent and to keep improving the pool.

Doc,

I suddenly start to get a lot of Stale proof of work

I have two workers with cgminer 2.10.4. One worker is using stratum - most of my boards are
the other one where the problems coming from is using getwork with single Icarus board attached to it

Can you comment it pls

Looks like it missed a long poll and kept mining old data. Very odd, I haven't seen that before.

And yeah, switching to Stratum fixes that sort of thing Smiley

No fee? How do you pay for the servers? Independently wealthy?
Sounds Fishy...
